Review: These guys sent a "pre-approved" platinum lease card with a $100,000.oo credit limit with my name on it addressed to someone with a totally different name and different address. fortunately I am well known in the area and they contacted me about it and brought me the card.I called the company and told them I had no interest in them or the card and not to contact me again. They tried to blame the screw up on Dunn & Bradstreet. I seriously doubt that Dunn & Bradstreet would provide this type of erroneous information to them.I think this is a scam of some sort.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: No settlement requested - for

Make sure they never contact me again and make sure they are a legitimate business.

Hello,

Review: I received an unsolicited envelope from this company in the mail with what appeared to be a credit card with my name on it. The paper with the card attached had printed "Here is your new PCC Premier Platinum Card" and "AVAILABLE CREDIT $100,000" and "NEW BALANCE $0". The paper also said "Protect yourself from fraud and activate your card now!" and provided a phone number. In addition the paper said that my account date was 8/30/2013 and there was no activity since my last statement. Since I received this envelope on 9/14/2013, does this mean an account was created in my name without my authorization or even knowledge? If so, is this legal? I am very concerned that had the mail been intercepted by someone with minimal personal information about me, the card could have been activated facilitating a critical identity theft situation with me having no way to prevent it.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)I request to be removed from whatever database(s) this company maintains and never to be contacted by them again. I also request a review of the potential unauthorized account creation practice to ensure that it does not violate any personal privacy laws or ethical business practices. I have full faith and trust in the Revdex.com's review and handling of these issues. Thank You.

Hello,

Review: An unsolicited letter was received with a credit card and a credit limit of $100,000. I was urged to activate the card to protect myself from fraud.

I received a letter with a credit card and a credit line of $100,000. I did not request this card or authorize it. The letter indicated that I should call a number to activate the card implying that it is a real card. Yet a search on the Revdex.com website database indicated this is a solicitation and not a real credit card.Desired Settlement: Please remove my name from the company's database so that no further credit cards will be offered.

Hello,

Review: As from what I can tell this business sent me an unsolicited unauthorized credit card with a claimed credit line of $100,000. This opens the door for identity theft and in my opinion fraud.Desired Settlement: Immediate response from the company that they do not have any personally identifiable information from me, which I have never authorized. Confirmation that no line of credit was issued on my name by said company and that they remove any information that they may have on me from their databases and future advertising/marketing.

Hello,

Review: Pacific Capital Companies issued a credit card to our company with a credit limit of $100,000. We received a letter with the credit card and an 800 number to activate.

Our company has not requested a credit card. This is a very unethical sales practice or a case of identity theft/fraud.Desired Settlement: Cancel the credit card, stop contacting [redacted] in any way, other than to apologize. Stop the unethical practice.

Hello,

Review: Received a pre-approved $100,000 credit line from this company that was not requested, and is in my name and the name of my company.

This appears to be some kind of scam. Having read through the information it appears they're buying information about companies from Dun and Bradstreet. I have complained to them as well about how this information is being used, will likely open a separate Revdex.com complaint on Dun and Bradstreet.Desired Settlement: I have no interest in doing business with this company, and want this company to immediately remove any information about my company and me from their database, remove any established line of credit, and remove any remarks that have been added to any of my credit reports.

Hello [redacted],

Review: I received a card in the mail from Pacific Capital Companies LLC with an available credit balance of $100,000. I did not ask to receive this card and immediatley shredded it because I was suspicious that this could be a fraud looking for my personal information for possible identity theft if I were to activate the card. I DO NOT appreciate receiving a card in the mail that is unsolicited. I will call the company in addition to this complaint and tell them to never send any cards to me again! I would not buy from a company in out of state when I can buy things locally in Washington State and support our businesses.Desired Settlement: Take me off of the mailing list! I DO NOT like to receive unsolicted cards in the mail that could be stolen and activated and folks could charge to them in my name!!

I will make this crystal clear when I call the company on Monday!

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: Firstly, I received an unsolicited mail from this company saying that my business was approved for $100,000 in equipment financing credit. Called them up to verify everything. An account manager by the name of [redacted] then got me get approved for $50,000 for 60 months at 7% interest. However, afterwards, he stopped responding to my phone calls and e-mails. I was then informed that they had lost my application and were doing it again, only to have no answer on the status of the application. [redacted] neither responded to my calls nor my e-mail. Finally, I received word that he was on leave for personal reasons, and another manager accessed my account to let me know that my application was now pending. This was on Friday, November 22nd, 2013. On Monday, November 25th, 2013, I called again, and one of the managers told me to stop calling as it would not do anything to quicken the process. He then accused me of lying when I told him another manager had accessed my account because only [redacted] had access to it. However, when I called the mainline again, a guy named [redacted] was able to access my account and said that my application was now pending denied, meaning all sources had now denied my app and they were waiting on one source. So, now, not only have they done a credit check twice, but failed to deliver on their services. So, the approval for $100K is nothing more than a bait and switch. The company's customer service is horrendous at best, with mismanagement, full of mixed messages, and unresponsive behavior.Desired Settlement: I require my original approval of $50K for 60 months at 7% interest. It is not my fault they lost my application. I require [redacted] to call me back and resolve this matter ASAP. Because of his delay and the mistake of losing my app, I have lost a week in silence. My entire deal depended on his word that I was approved for $50K. Now, I am stuck and unable to move forward with what I intended to do.

Hello,

Review: I received in the mail a credit card with my name and company name on it. The card had a $100,000.00 limit on it and had the activation code on the paper. I had never heard of the business and it was disturbing to see my name on a legitimate card with a limit of $100,000.00. If someone had opened the letter and activated it, I would have never known (because I had never heard of the company) and there is no way I could afford that limit. I called their 800 number and spoke with a representative. She was very nice and professional. She asked if I was the owner and I told her no. She explained that the they got the information from Dun & Bradstreet. That is also disturbing. I informed her that they should have sent a letter or called to say I was approved and ask if I wanted to open the credit line. Not send a fully created credit card that would be easily activated. She did say that the activation requires verification but since I don't know the company, I'm sure the info they would ask for would be info posted on D&B which, by the way, apparently anyone can get. I asked her to remove me and my company from the list and she said she would.

Sending out the credit cards creates a huge opportunity for credit fraud. This company's way of sending out the credit card with names from D&B without even calling to verify if the person is actually in the company or the if it is the owner shows that this type of advertising is a hook to catch gullible people into spending and then making them pay for a long time. I find this company to be very shady.Desired Settlement: Stop sending out pre-made credit cards with all the information on it to people who have never heard of you. If the company is legitimate, contact the people first and make sure they want the card before wasting money on creating a credit card. If the company is not legitimate, please stop trying to ruin people's lives.

Hello,

Review: I received a letter with a credit card and a credit line of $100,000. I did not request this card or authorize it. It should be illegal to send an unsolicited credit card to someone. WIth all the identity theft that is happening these days, this is a careless, thoughtless practice. It takes time to investigate to see if anyone used my name to request this card. It the card's not real, it certainly looks real. Real enough to cause concern and inconvenience to anyone who receives it.Desired Settlement: Immediate response from the company that they do not have any personally identifiable information from me, which I have never authorized. Confirmation that no line of credit was issued on my name by said company and that they remove any information that they may have on me from their databases and future advertising/marketing. Hello,

Review: At my place of business I received an envelope from Pacific Capital Companies containing a "PLATINUM Equipment Lease Card", this plastic card has the appearance of a credit card with my name and my company name embossed on it. The card came attached to a letter which, in large type proclaims "Protect Yourself From Fraud Activate Your Card Now!", which certainly reinforced the thought that this card and fraud are separated by no great distance.

While the card and letter are apparently a solicitation to do business, they give the appearance that a business relationship already exists. I have no intention of doing business with this company and want to be notified that I have been removed from their mailing list.Desired Settlement: 1.Want to be notified that I have been removed from their mailing list.

Response:

Hello [redacted],

Review: Our company received an unsolicited letter from this company with a credit card enclosed with a limit of $100,000 for "fraud protection". The card had our business name printed on it, along with the name of someone who has not been employed by us for a number of years, and a magnetic strip on the back. The letter gave activation instructions, and by all accounts appeared to be legitimate, save for the fact that we asked for no such credit card, and have had absolutely no interaction with the company in question. Upon checking the complaint history with the Revdex.com, it became clear that this was a marketing scam that is at best woefully misguided and at worst blatantly and purposefully dishonest.Desired Settlement: We wish to be removed from your marketing list immediately.
