On 12/1/had Gene's over to perform a check & tune on our furnace in our homeThe representative reported that our "carbon monoxide reading was high at 88ppm and that readings above 100ppm are deemed unsafe for operations and can indicate heat ex changer issues." Quoted a price of $to replace the ex changer and $to replace burners or recommended furnace be replacedAdditionally stated "operation of a furnace with unsafe levels of carbon monoxide can be a risk to one's own health & is done at own risk." Naturally, this caused our family to be extremely concerned and despite already having carbon monoxide detectors in the home we proceeded to purchase another in fear that the others were not functioning properlyAdditionally, a Gene's salesman came to our home to provide an estimate for a new furnaceWe spent the next couple nights in fear while trying to figure out whether to fix the furnace or replaceUpon further thought, lack of signs of carbon monoxide pois
