We had a new furnace and a/c unit installed in the summer of by Gene'sThe quality of their work was poor to average, at best (a representative from another company recently visited my home and was horrified at the workmanship)More problematic was the follow-up, or lack thereof, from Gene's
In November, they came out for the seasonal tune-up; my wife inquired to see if there was a remote temperature sensor that might aid in some of the decreased performance we were noticing in the new unit and was told someone would get back to usBy mid-January, nobody had gotten back to usI called again and had them come out and examine the problemI was told that we would need a secondary unit in the attic, and they would get back to me with a price quoteThree months later, I was still waiting on a quoteI again had them out to check on a filter issue, and mentioned that I was waiting on a quote for a secondary unitWhen they came out, the engineer - the same one who was there in January - had zero idea of the issue and started the discussion from square one (so much for him having been working on the quote)I wound up receiving a quote a week later; I sought a second opinion, and was told that a secondary unit would be about 10th on the list of things they would recommend, and gave a bunch of suggestions that would be less costly and far less labor-intensive
The filter visit issue itself was another fiasco; the tech who came out didn't come with a filter, so he removed the old one and left the system running without oneHe said he'd be back in a couple of days with a new one; two weeks later, I still was waiting for a filterWhen I called to foll(notice a trend here? I was having to do all of the follto fix things they left undone), I was first told that the filters were out of stock at the time of the tech's visit (not what he said) and had just arrived, but was later (on the same phone call) told that they didn't have any and wouldn't have any for several weeksI wound up ordering one off Amazon, getting it two days later and installing it myself (it was also 20% cheaper than what they had quoted me)
I'm surprised by the number of positive reviews, because my experience with Gene's has been anything but on multiple occasionsI won't be using them again, and have told them as much over the phone

A+ RATING OF TECHNICIAN...DEREK WAS VERY THOROUGH IN EXPLANATION OF THE PRODUCTS IN OUR HOME AND THE PROCEDURE HE PROVIDED ON MONDAY, SO MUCH SO THAT I SIGNED UP FOR THE YR SERVICE AGREEMENT SO THEIR TEAM CAN CHECK ON MY HEATING AND AIR IN THE SPRING AND FALL TO BE SURE EVERYTHING IS RUNNING PROPERLY AND IF I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH PLUMBING OR ELECTRICAL THEY CAN SERVICE THAT WITH DISCOUNTED RATESVERY REPUTABLE COMPANY WHO ALSO INSTALLED MY APRIL AIR AFTER I MOVED IN, I HIRED THEM ON MY OWN, SO I AM HAPPY TO HAVE THEM MAINTAIN THINGS IN MY HOMEHIGHLY RECOMMEND

I thought that Chris the technician was very through and courteous, and explained what was being doneHe also pointed out some future concernsHe showed up on time and completed the job within minutes

Very professional and courteousTechnician arrived on-time and explained every detail of his work including readings, tolerances, etc Invoice was electronically tracked and submitted to email account for record keeping purposes I have been a customer of Gene's for a long time
