In home sales

I hired Paradise to install gutters on my house. I chose this company because I was told hey do their own in house financing. They came to my house and spent 3 hours showing me what they had. I was also told hey do their own financing and credit was not a problem. He sold me on a package of 4900.00 and old me I could pick my payment amount which I did of 99.00 a month. He walked around my house beore he gave me this quote. Then said he would be back to take measurements. This was all done on August 8th. This is now the 17th and I hear nothing from them. I called the salesman and left 2 messages and never heard back. Today I called the General Manager for help and was told t hey never do their own financing and told me they submitted 7 loan companies on my credit which we d id not authorize. We were misled from the start after a 3 hour sales pitch which he even told me what the finance charge would be. I was very disappointed that a company would come to my house and misrepresent themselves. I have since found another company that will help. Thank you for helping me.

Desired Outcome

Just hoping other senior citizens on fixed incomes to not fall for business that misrepresent themselves. The salesman that came out and spent 3 hours in my home is the one that would not call me back.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Aug 18, 2020

I spoke to *** yesterday and explained to him that due to his low credit score we could not find any lenders to approve the loan. We do offer 100 % financing , however it is standard in the industry to have a finance company or bank carry the paper. Sorry for any inconvenience this may of caused and good luck with the other company. Thank you.

This man only explained this after we heard nothing after his salesman was at our house. Mr. called this man only to find out they do not finance their own. He was also told that his salesman said nothing to us about a finance company, therefore 7 inquiries on our CB file. Mr. also told him we only went by what the salesman who spent 3 hours in my home told us. This man also did not even apologize what so ever so Mr. told him he would take other actions for what they put us through and the time we gave them. Yhe man told us to do what ever we want to o about it. Very unprofessional to say the least. If the salesman had called us back and explained they were trying to get it financed, we would have told him to cancel the work order. That is all the salesman left us was a work order and told us our payments would be 99.00 a month which was never true and I believe the salesman knew this and that is why we never heard from him again. That is how this man you got a response from got involved because we called him. If this is how customers are treated then I am sure there will be more complaints.

I recently had some siding replacement work done to correct work from another contractor and these guys did an excellent job. I no longer have to worry about water damage. I also had the Gutter Guardian installed. My whole house now has a very clean, finished look.

Despite my asking many times to stop, they call me over and over again. Three times this week alone. I just want them to leave me alone.
They got my number at a home improvement fair in January, 2019. I had one of their people out to do an estimate that same month, but decided not to hire them. I told them this at the time. They will not stop calling me. Since April of last year, they have called repeatedly despite my telling them to stop. I have 13 unwanted calls in my phone's history since then (not including when I've called them to tell them to stop calling). I have been told by folks I've spoken to that they would take my number out of their call list, but that hasn't happened. They've called three times this week, so it is getting worse over time, not better. I just want them to leave me alone. Harassing someone won't get them to hire you!

Desired Outcome

I just want them to stop calling me.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We would like to stop calling this customer however we need his number in order to remove it and the customer did not provide it in the information that they submitted to the Revdex.com. We will make every effort to be on the lookout for this customer's name so that it is not called.

I have given my number in the past several times to be removed. Unfortunately, this forum is not one in which I can give my number, per the Revdex.com instructions. If I could be given a way to contact the right person to give them my number, that would be fine.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Aug 17, 2020

We were able to locate the customer's information and all of their contact information has been removed from our system. Thank you!

False guarantee, no communication, took money despite cancelling contract
They had initially come out to give us an estimate on a metal roof, but we had found a company that offered better pricing and warranty. They called us up after losing the contract to ask if they could give us an energy audit, which we allowed. The salesman immediately began pushing for a chance to do our roof at a better price and timeframe, guaranteeing it would be done by the end of August and that we would not need to pay anything until it was complete. We agreed and signed a check for 5,500 in good faith that he guranteed would not be cashed until the work was done. He left and we have not been able to contact the company since. He even gave us the number to his boss, Jeff B and guranteed that he would get this done. 2 days later and we hadnt heard anything, and seeing that we only had 3 days to cancel, I called, no one would respond, I spoke to the receptionist and was sent to to voicemail multiple times. Jeff B himself would not answer or respond to calls, so we told the receptionist that we were no longer interested and would like to cancel the contract. We also mailed in the letter stated in the contract that would cancel the contract. The salesman was here the night of the 3rd, we made these calls and sent the letter on the 5th, and then on the 10th, they cashed our check. No work done and having had the job cancelled they cashed the check. We now have to fight for our money back to put towards a reputable business.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be refunded the full $5,500 check that they cashed despite doing no work and not communicating to me at all, 5 days after I had already cancelled the contract in writing and via phone, within the 3 day cancelation window of the contract.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Aug 14, 2020

This job is cancelled and the customer had put a stop payment on the check. The customer has the money for the deposit that they put down and we have not done any work. We did speak to the customer a couple of days after the sale was made to explain the time line going forward. It is our understanding that this customer had contracted with multiple companies to do this job and we are thinking that this may have something to do with the confusion.

Customer Response • Aug 14, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept that I was able to regain my money and the job is confirmed as being cancelled.

I called them out to give me an estimate and they sent a high-pressure salesman, who gave me an estimate that was three times higher than the person we hired. This was over a year ago and they call me several times a day to harass me because we did not choose them. I am on the no-call list and I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), but they refuse to stop. They are very over overpriced, very aggressive, and they harass you daily for months on in.

Sales Manager explained to me that I would not take a hard hit on my credit. That the finance through a bank that does not do that.
Paradise Home Improvement came to my house and the salesman sat down with me to go over the gutters. I explained that I did not want to purchase the gutters until December (I needed to save up). He explained that I could do financing starting in December and not be charged interest until then. I do not know much about financing, but did ask him if it would take a hard hit on my credit. He said 'No, Paradise uses a great bank that does not go through that'. I thought that was a little strange and even made a comment. He was certain that was right. I signed the application and a few days later had an email with paperwork to sign the financing. I called the financing service and asked them some questions. They said that by applying to the loan, I took a hard hit on my credit that would be there for 2 years. I was very upset because I specifically asked the salesman this. I spoke to him and he apologized and told me that I had a few options after he spoke to his manager. One option was that I could received $2000 off a future home project and another was that I could get them to file something to drop that inquiry off my record 3 months later. I did not believe him and asked to speak to a manager, which turned out to be false. The manager made me feel as if it was my fault that I did not know about financing. I did not hear from either one of them after that call. The general manager called me a few days later and asked if I needed help signing the papers. He did not know about the situation and said he would talk to them. Both GM and the manager said the salesman was new and young. He was nice, but they need to work on his training. This is a big deal for people right now with loss of jobs and no one likes being lied to.

Desired Outcome

I would like my credit report corrected and the inquiry removed. I declined the loan.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Jul 21, 2020

I spoke to Ms. when all this took place. I will have my office contact the finance company and see if they can remove the credit inquiry. Thanks you, Larry L, GM

Entered into contract 2 months ago still waiting on install. Company has pushed install date back twice without communicating. Won't answer calls.
I entered into a contract approximately two months ago and still do not have the product installed on my house. The rep that quoted us the job has since left the company. I had to call and find out if we were still on the schedule for June 29th which we were given that date 3 weeks prior. I found out on Friday at 6PM they were not going to be at my house so we pushed it back to Tuesday. Tuesday morning the power company came to my house to cut the power so the stack could be removed from the side of the house and they still were not at my house. I again called since the GM did not call as he told me he would to update me and I was told they were still hung up on another job and would not be at my house. Meanwhile my husband and kids are sitting at the house with no power. My husband is working remotely and is now loosing time from work. I was told by the GM that he would see about pulling the crew to go work on that one part of the house and he would call me back. After an hour and a half, he still hadn't called back. I had to call again and the receptionist told me that he told her to call me in a few minutes and tell me to have the power cut back on and they would work around it. They still did not give me a time or date of when the installation was going to occur. She said she would find out some answers and call me back. She never called me back. I called them multiple times that day and they never answered the phone or returned my messages. I left a message stated that they owed me the common courtesy of returning my call to let me know when they were going to show up to do the job or they could return my deposit money. When I got home, my husband asked if I had heard from them and when I told him that I had not, he called them and they answered the phone. They told him they would get materials from another vendor (I have already been told twice my materials were in) and they would be delivered on the 10th and they would start work on 13th. When he got off the phone with them, I immediately tried to call them back and they would not answer the phone. Absolutely poor customer service and I do not have a lot, actually any, faith that they will actually be out to perform the work. As for the deposit - their website clearly states that no money is due until the job is complete and you are completely satisfied. I don't understand why we had to give them almost $4,000 if that is the case. I am so upset that we gave them almost $4,000 and am completely baffled at their lack of customer service. If they were hung up on another job, I would be disappointed for the delay but would completely understand. I simple expect the common courtesy of a phone call to tell me that. We had to schedule the power company and an electrician so it wasn't just our schedules that had to be accommodated. The GM also stated that his cell phone was dead and that he couldn't make calls. He said my number was programmed in his cell phone. I have multiple problems with that as well. You have my contract with multiple numbers on it and your cell phone is not the only phone that makes outgoing calls. Communication is key and they have dropped the ball big time.

Desired Outcome

I either expect them to be at my house on July 13, 2020 to start the job or I want a refund check for the full amount that I put down.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Jul 03, 2020

We apologize for the delay. We have had a few setbacks with material availability and delivery. We have communicated with the homeowner and have their project scheduled for installation with them.

Customer Response • Jul 06, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have been told twice by the GM that my materials were on hand which caused my install to be pushed back to June 29th. The reason we were given for them not showing up was that they were delayed on another job. Completely understand, but nobody called us to tell us that and the power company was at my house to cut the power on the day and time that Paradise told me to have them come out and do so. The power was cut off and I had to call and find out where they were only to find out they weren't coming and were still working on another job. Nobody ever called to tell us they weren't coming.
As far as their statement, "we have communicated with the homeowner", I beg to differ. They have not once called me or my husband. I have had to call and chase them down. The majority of the time I get a recording and nobody returns the messages. They have gotten to the point where they will not even answer the phone when I call. It makes me sick to my stomach to think I have given them almost $4,000 and I can't even get them to return a simple phone call and now I don't even know if they are telling the truth about whether or not my materials are actually in. I feel like they came in and they used them on another job. Highly disappointed in how we have been treated by this company.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Aug 06, 2020

This job has been completed and the customer is happy.

I had gutters put on and asked to put down a deposit and make monthly installments. The balance was drafted from my account and I cannot reach anyone.
On 6/6/2020 Alex K came out and gave me an estimate to install new gutters. He quoted me $2800. He explained that it could be paid monthly and did a credit check on his phone to get me approved. On 6/10/2020 I spoke with Charity who processed a deposit/one time payment of $800 and emailed me my receipt. The gutters were installed on 6/18/2020. Today, 6/29/2020 the $2000 balance was drafted from my account. I tried to call every contact number I could find and kept getting voicemails. I left a message at 12:45pm and have not received a call back or been able to speak with any representative to resolve my issue.

Desired Outcome

The $2000 needs to be put back into my account and set up on monthy installments as previously discussed.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Jul 03, 2020

We have applied a credit to the customer's card and have now processed the finance paperwork for the customer. This situation has been corrected.

This company has called me almost daily since March. The number that shows up is XXX-XXX-XXXX and is apparently their marketing department.
They have called me from XXX-XXX-XXXX almost daily for over the past month. It is apparently their marketing department doing outbound calls. You cannot ever get anyone to answer the phone at that number or the 800 number listed on their website to be removed from their list. To my knowledge we have never done business with them nor have we requested information from them.

Desired Outcome

removal from call list

Paradise Home Improvement Response • May 20, 2020

We apologize for any inconvenience and will be happy to add this customer to our do not call list. In order to do that I will need him to supply me with the telephone number that he wishes to have removed. Unfortunately I can not search the list by a name only a phone number. Once that number is provided to us it will be immediately removed. Thank you!

The sales pitch was great! Only just started the contract and will update with time! Despite all of the negative reviews and complaints I hope the trust I put in them doesn't get tarnished and they pull through and show the quality work they've promised.

Worked with me to find best options for my budget. Timely responses. Quality!

Paradise Home Improvement was so easy to work with! They were on time, efficient, cleaned up behind themselves and the product is beautiful. I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs any new windows.

Thank you very much for your feedback! We are dedicated to making your experience with Paradise amazing! Enjoy your windows!

Good luck after one year talking to about 8 people they have not fixed the mess they made of our roof on our sun room. By putting the cover on the flat roof with screws.

I had windows and gutters installed. They did a good job with both. I was told that they were guaranteed for life no matter what the problem was. A few months ago we noticed that some of the screens had small holes in them and we thought no problem we would call them a they would come and replace them. After the call they sent out one of their repair guys who took pictures and said they would get back to us. It's been over a month now and we have not heard anything from them. My wife call again last week and they told her someone would get back to her that was one week ago and we are still waiting. I hope they back up their lifetime warranty because that's one of the reasons we went with them even though their windows and gutters were very expensive. I feel that if they use this as a selling point they should provide a better service after the sale.

Do not live up to what they say Have given me the run around on our gutters they made a mess of.

I only received 11 of the 12 windows I ordered. I've called the company several times and my window has yet to be installed.
On 12/15/2018 saleman Marcus G came out to my home. After his presentation I ordered 6 windows for $7960. 4 windows in the living room and 2 windows int the dinning room. A free storm door was included. On 12/29/2018 Marcus G came back out to my home and I ordered 6 more windows for $7950. 4 windows in the master bedroom and 2 windows in a secondary bedroom. The installers came shortley after to measure my windows. the windows came back and were installed in February, however I only received 11 windows. I advised the installer and he advise me to call Jeff B which I did. I left several messages with no response. I finally was able to get a lady in the who oversees the installs and she told me she would call me back after she spoke with Marcus G but she never did. I have called several times and I keep getting the run around. Jeff B told me it would take a few weeks to order another window but he never called back nor will he return my calls. Not only were the windows over-price (which I discovered after talking to neighbors) but they give me the product I purchased. I have copies of the contracts but the carbon copy is faint.

Desired Outcome

I seeking a refund of $1325 for the window I didn't received. The price of 6 windows was $7950, therefore each window was approx. $1325 each.

The customer's last window for their order has been delivered to our Charlotte warehouse. We have called the customer and left messages to schedule the installation of the window. Please have the customer call us to schedule the installation of this last window.

I was offered a bathroom rework they offered tile flooring and a stand up shower with a special sealant that does not peal from humidity
They didn't tell me that a third party company was going to be doing the bathroom I called to cancel and they would not pick up.I didn't get the product they offered and my shower door from my original shower got taken without consent also leaving cheap product and worsening my bathroom. They told me they did ventilation and when I asked after they said they did the bathroom they told me they don't do ventilation. They pressured me into getting the bathroom reworked after the first time I told them I was going to have a surgery soon and I would be out of work for around 3 to 6 months and they said it wasn't going to be a problem they did not tell me it was going to be a third party loan or a third party bathroom rework.I was having seazures and going to have tumor surgery so I was on medication and losing counsiounes according to the doctors and they told me not to stress out and the sales man keep coming to offer the bathroom work and to not stress out I told them to go ahead and do it. After they were done with the bathroom they never picked up again

Desired Outcome

Tile flooring the sealant they promised, fix the damages and get me a shower door. They work they have done is not a 14 thousand work for the quality they gave me.I would also want a fair pricing for the quality of work they gave me also if get the salesmans that offered me the work to come and see the work they have provided me

Mr *** is complaining about issues that Paradise Home improvement was never contracted to do. This bath was installed over 18 months ago and this is the first service we have received . I sent the sales manager to see Mr. and went over the contract that he signed. We have also put in a service ticket for some minor caulking issues that need to be addresses. We tried to contact Mr., but at this time have been unable to reach him. He can contact the service dept. @ XXX-XXX-XXXX to schedule an appointment. Thank you

Had a new shower installed by this company and developed a crack in the base of shower I called them and they said they would send someone out to look at it they never did. I called them 4or 5 times over the next several months they kelp saying that they would send someone out to look at it but never did. Now when I call they will not take my call. They don't back their products so I am left with a leacking shower base because the support under the base is to weak it . do not trust this company they will rip you off . Paid 7,500 dollars for this and they want back their products.

Paradise Home Improvement Response • Dec 02, 2019

We have spoken to the customer about their concern. When speaking with the customer we identified that the number the customer was calling was incorrect. I have provided the customer with my direct contact information in the event he needs anything else. We have ordered the customer a new shower pan. As soon as the new pan arrives we will contact the customer to schedule a convenient time for installation.

I want to thank the folks at Paradise they are 2nd to none. Rodney and crew came into my home very professional great work and completed replacing 17 windows definitely would recommend paradise home improvements for any renovation needs

I have never dealt with a company that rips you off as much as this company has. They were supposed to begin work within three weeks of signing contract. They did not. Didn't complete installation, what they did "complete" was extremely poor workmanship. Workers arrived late morning, actually closer to lunch to begin work. They evidently contract their work out, and get the worst workers ever. I have pictures I would love to share. They don't even deserve the 1 I gave them on their rating. My next step is to inform the Attorney General of what they are doing in this state, along with the pictures of their "work." The pictures will speak for themselves. They are quick to respond if you call them for a job, after that response is poor, and excuses are many.
