[redacted] came to Paragon Acura to lease a vehicle on 6/*/2016; he was interested in a 2017 FWD RDX. Since we don’t carry any FWD RDX, [redacted] and Paragon Acura came to an agreement on an AWD RDX 2017 at a discounted price. [redacted] came in the following day to discuss some...

questions and concerns he had, which were addressed to his satisfaction before he left to go back to South Carolina. A few days later he called us again, stating that he wasn’t satisfied with the deal. In the interest of customer satisfaction we reimbursed him $500 and we also agreed to repair the damage on the door handle (which wasn't there at the time of delivery). We paid his local Acura Dealer over $300.00 for the repair. Total reimbursement of $800. We have done everything in our power to satisfy [redacted] and every time he has told us he is satisfied. Paragon Acura will take no further action at this time. Thank you! Murat D[redacted] ###-###-####

To whom it may concern, Customer bought certified TL December ** 2016 ,drop the car at our service department ,as per our service manager  no problem was found ,mechanic did a road test with a customer and no problem was found. The customer drove another TL, and the other vehicle and he...

said that he heard the same moice on the other vehicle too. the customer  himself stated that all TLs have the same noise and that it is a manufacture defect. The customer called Acura Corporate and they told him that there is nothing that they can do. The customer ,came back to our dealership and test drove another TL, he said he heard the noise again. We offer customer to trade car at market value, he wanted the same amount he pay for the car which unfortunately we are unable to facilitate. [redacted]

up/respond. Due to service being closed on July [redacted], the customer was unable to reach service the following day. Our technician road tested the vehicle on Monday the [redacted], and then again on Wednesday the [redacted], but was unable to detect any abnormal sounds from the transmission - normal operation was found. We were able to reach the customer on July [redacted] and explained that the vehicle is operating as designed - that the technician found no problem with the vehicles transmission. The customer was upset with our findings and did not want his vehicle returned to him. When the customer came in to pick up his vehicle, we explained the findings of the technician – we also offered him a road test with one of our technicians.   The customer had previously serviced his vehicle with us on May [redacted] and May [redacted]. That time he had brought the vehicle in to replace an air vent (as per sales), and also for a cold starting concern (chirping sound from the front of the vehicle while cold starting). Once we duplicated the concern (had to wait for a cold night for a proper cold start), we repaired the vehicle as per the service bulletin (bulletin [redacted] - "There is a gurgle or chirp from under the hood at cold-start-up"). The repair involved replacing the ATF filter, due to a restriction in the ATF filter. As per the customer when he returned in July, the chirping sound is no longer present when cold starting the vehicle. The repair was successful. Very truly yours,Salome B[redacted] Executive Assistant

We are in contact with the customer and are working toward a resolution.

 THE...

BUSINESS ACCEPTS THE PAINT JOB IS POOR QUALITY AND I HAVE GIVEN THEM AN ESTIMATE OF $1432 TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH MY BODY SHOP, HOWEVER BUSINESS STATES THAT IT WILL COST THEM 800 TO FIX THE PAINT WITH THE SAME PEOPLE WHO DID THE POOR JOB AT THE FIRST PLACE. IT SHOWS WHAT KIND OF JOB HE DID FOR 800 AND THAT IS WHY I WANT TO HAVE IT DONE AT MY BODY SHOP THE RIGHT WAY AT THE RIGHT PRICE WITH QUALITY WORK. BUSINESS DOES NOT WANT TO ACCEPT THAT AND I DONT ACCEPT THEIR OFFER. UNFORTUNATE THEY WILL LOSE CUSTOMERS WITH THIS KIND OF BUSINESS PRACTICES

Dear
[redacted]...

[redacted];

We
are in receipt of the complaint received on September **, 2014 from [redacted]
[redacted].

We
have been in contact with [redacted], [redacted]’s husband, who forwarded
information from their local Acura dealer in [redacted] to Paragon Acura.

In
the document forwarded to us, Columbia Acura valued the customer’s Acura MDX at $32000.
Columbia Acura goes on to say that "if it had factory quality paint"
based on their criteria; they would value the MDX at $34000. Paragon Acura has
offered $34,625.

While
I do understand the customer’s position, the appraisal document from Columbia
Acura makes it clear that Paragon Acura is making [redacted]
[redacted] whole by valuing the MDX for what the local dealer would pay,
if it did not have any paint or body work. In fact, we are offering six hundred
dollars more than the local dealer has offered "if it had factory quality
paint".

Considering
the above, I will reconfirm our offer of either paying $34,625 for
the MDX or have our service department address and correct any paint
or body issues that may not meet Acura CPO standards at no charge to the
customer, providing the vehicle is brought to Paragon Acura.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Paragon correctly stated that we came to an agreement on the price for the vehicle. They agreed to give me free all wheel drive because I was not interested in anything with all-wheel drive and that was an extra $1,500. In the original lease contract they filled in the agreed upon price for the car at well above $40,000. When I came back the next day telling them they not only charge me for the all-wheel-drive but they charge me even more worried about the sticker price of the car. Paragon said they would fix the problem. They lowered the sticker price of the car to $40,000, but at the same time they changed the car offer for my used car trade in and deducted $1,800. They never made me aware that they were taking back $1,800 otherwise I would never have signed the new paperwork either. They deceived me. Also the door handle was damaged upon delivery. I told them clearly there was a black smudge and I was not going to ask them to clean a black smudge off the handle. On my way back to South Carolina I tried to clean the black off of the handle. It would not come off as soon as I returned home I went to my Acura dealership because the car was dirty and I had my local Acura dealership here in Greenville South Carolina wash the car. After they hand wash the car the handle was still dirty. I discovered that the dirty part of the handle was covering up damn it should I handle that something greasy head rubbed on it before delivery and they had delivered me a car with a damaged handle that's why the black would not come off when I try to wash it nor when they Acura dealership tried to watch it in my hometown. I immediately took pictures of the door handle and sent it 2 paragon telling them they had delivered me a damaged door handle that was covered up with a black smudge. So really they only reimburse me $500 of the $1,800 they owe me because they took back $1,800 of our original trade-in deal. Yes they had me sign all the new paperwork but no they never said to me that [redacted] we're lowering the price of the new car but we're taking back $1,800 from our trade in a great price. I never came in the next day for them to take away money from my trade in. Basically what they did was they just switched the money from the new car price and lowered it and tacked on $1,800 that now I was responsible for paying off my trade. They still owe me $1,300 and I told him when they sent the 500 that I was at their Mercy but I was not happy it was not right and they totally deceived me. All I want is my $1,300 back. They made good money on my trade in and promise me $1,800 more then they actually paid me in the deal. Very deceptive]

I reiterate that we were misled in their explanation of the "terms" of the lease mileage agreement when we purchased said vehicle three years ago.  I already am aware of Acura's loyalty program and their supposed "forgiveness" of the extra mileage on the car; they would have probably overlooked the 16,000 miles altogether or at least half of that had I leased another Acura.  In speaking to an Acura Billing representative she explained as much to me. Isn't it curious that the wording on our lease order specifically stated 6,000 miles, the exact number we wanted when added to the 30,000 (i.e. 12k/year).
And no, I would not even think of leasing another car with this dealership just to "forgive" the mileage they duped me of.  I would like to lease on my own terms, not have them use this over my head as leverage for acquiring another three years of my business.

[Your Answer Here]Paragon Acura left a message in my voicemail stating that I should return a call which I did several times and no one has spoken to me about the situations that occurred with my car. I left at least two messages with staff stating that I am return the call and was told that the general sales manager will get in contact with me but no one ever did.

Some final thoughts: The repairs made to the vehicle were performed the way that it was outlined by Technical Service Bulletin 13-024 (please see attached). According to the findings from our technician and the aid of Tech Line, we found the cause of failure was an out of round Cylinder bore on cylinder # 3 which causes low compression and eventually leads to an Engine block replacement. We stand 100% behind the repairs performed for the concern that the customer expressed due to the following reasons: The repairs were made by a Technician who has all the requisites to be considered an Acura Master Technician. The technician holds a current certification for Engine Performance A8 which is acknowledged by the National institute of Automotive Excellence.  The technician who worked on the vehicle has worked as an Acura Technician for 14 years. 19 total years an Automotive technician.  It is unfortunate that the vehicle needed the repairs after the certification was performed. However, the vehicle did not have any engine performance related concerns when the vehicle was being certified. **According to the certification, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp were verified to be operating correctly (see line 13 on the check list). During the road test, the technician did not see a Malfunction Indicator Lamp come on nor did he experience an engine performance issue. In addition, the vehicle ran without a check engine light or poor performance for over 5,000 miles.      **The vehicle performs a self-diagnosis when the ignition is turned on. That way, the operator can verify that the M.I.L (malfunction indicator lamps) are working properly.  We will not be able to assist the customer beyond the limits of their warranty, which was fully covered. Very truly yours, Brian B[redacted] General Manager

As previously stated we agreed to refund [redacted] $148 for the cost of the taillight repair. As per company policy we can’t release the check until [redacted] signs the general release, which he refuse to do. Please advise on how can we close the case. Thank you!
