We have no hot water.
On Thursday *** several technicians from the gas company doing some repairs in the neighbor hood. They had to turn off the gas line off in order to fix the issues. It wasn't until late that night when a technician came to my house and asked did we use natural gas and what did we use it for. He was told that we used gas for our hot water tank. The technician then went into the attic then he asked my son (14 years old) to see if there was hot water in the faucet. My son replied yes so then the technician left. Not checking to see if the hot water that came out of the faucet were hot water from earlier that day before they turn off or if it was from after they turn it back on. When we woke up the next morning we didn't have any hot water at all. When I can the Gas Company Customer Services they said that if had to send someone out tonight or over the weekend that it was going to cost us around $400.00 or we would had to wait until Monday 1-7-19 for free. I don't see why we have to pay $400.00 or go without hot water, because of issues that they was working on which cause the hold situation. I talk to Customer Service and Technician Supervisor and I still got the same answer $400.00 or wait until Monday for something that we had no control over. If they had never messed with the gas from the beginning we would still have hot water.

Desired Outcome

To fix their mistake ASAP.

Piedmont Natural Gas responded to the customer's request to relight natural gas equipment on the evening of January 4, 2018. No charges were assessed to the consumer to relight the equipment affected from the natural gas outage, due to a damaged gas line.

Piedmont Natural Gas owes me $72.69. They charged me 1127.31 plus 1000.00 which was paid by Home Serve. *** paid 1000.00 and I paid 1200.00.
On November 2,2018 Piedmont Natural Gas and *** charged me 2127.31 to replace a hot water heater. Model #***/MFG:state/Serial***/Size 40 gallon/Type: DV Gas. This was replaced in the garage by Gary A from Piedmont and ***. There were three men in all. (I pay *** Gas Line Plan $5.49 a month and HomeServe Water Heater Plan $9.38 a month which I paid all to Piedmont Natural Gas). *** paid $1000.00 and my daughter paid 1200.00 on her credit card. (the credit card payment cleared on 11.30.2018 according to Piedmont Natural Gas) When I realized she over paid she said they will credit my future gas bills with the $72.69 over payment. ( The $1200.00 was a loan from my daughter to me. It is not a gift.) When I received my next bill I saw that there was not a mention of the over payment, so I called them to find out what had happened. I have talked to 4 people in *** service and they do not know why I have not received a refund or credit. Two *** Service said that they are not authorized to give me the credit but they have summited the forms to the ones that are authorized to approve the credit. Mean while I received a bill for $45.72 due by 11.26.2018. Since I should have gotten the credit by now, I called to see if the credit would take care of this bill. There was still no credit and after I paid the $45.72 bill late on 12.5.2018 they threaten to turn off my services if I don't pay an extra $14.87 asap. I also received a new bill of $104.08 that is due 12.28.2018. Please help me with this company. I don't have that kind of money.

Desired Outcome

I want only what I am intitled to. I want the $72.69.

Im livid that after several years of being a loyal customer with this company they would disconnect without notice and no one can figure out the bill
I am very displeased with this company. I was disconnected for $150! $60 of which came from a bill from a previous residence that I had no idea was added to this current bill. I was never notified of this bill being outstanding and without warning I was disconnected. I am the mother of two small children and would think that this company would handle customer's accounts with a little more care. To make matters worse they are asking me to pay a reconnection fee and a deposit. I have never in all the many years that I have been with this company. Never have I ever paid a deposit or a reconnection fee. I always make sure my bill is paid. My history shows, I always pay my bill. I have only been at this residence as of march. In June the bill was $100. I paid half to get the balance down. I may not pay exactly on the due date but when I pay I make sure that I pay the balance down or even to zero. This is insane and I need someone to contact me in having this matter resolved.

Desired Outcome

Remove reconnection fee and deposit fee

I believe I was overcharged during the winter months and it rolled over to my final bill when I disconnected service.
I stopped service in August and they sent me a final bill of over 400 dollars. I called them directly and they were unable to provide me with any help or answers. They claimed this bill was from the amounts rolling over from the winter months.

Desired Outcome

A call from a manager who knows what they are doing

Piedmont Natural Gas Company Response • Aug 24, 2018

Last winter we experienced very high heating bills because of the cold temperatures. I am sending you via email a small spreadsheet and your usage history to review. I am including my contact information with that email. Thank you.

Piedmont will try and force you to pay someone elses bill in order to start service at your home.
After a long move this weekend, I called Piedmont this morning to start service at my new house. I was told I would have to put a deposit down of $81 which was fine, when I asked when I could start service they told me they couldnt because there was a balance due at my previous home I was moving out of. I stated there was no way that could be possible, I have not had service with Piedmont Natural Gas since October 2012. The person I was residing with had a past due balance transferred over from a previous address which I had never lived at. The representative I spoke with refused to start service until I paid the $500 + past due balance. This bill is not even in my name! I feel like this is comptely unethical. How do you try and force your potential new *** to pay a bill that does not belong to them just because two are associated with the same addres? So are my children responsible for that too because they lived at the home temporarily? I will be seeking legal action against this company and I have also reached out to my local news. I want my money replaced for the deposit I put down. I have my own bills. Who has money or time to pay someone elses?

Desired Outcome

I either want my services turned on or my money deposited. I am not paying some one elses bill.

A technician came to my home on 2/22/18 and left information in writing that there was a gas leak in our home line. We had a gas line installed by an independent contractor over a year ago. Because of this we were told that the contractor would have to read the line and verify that there was no leak and that once this was done, to call PNG and they would come back to turn the gas back on. On 2/23/18 the contractor was at our home before 9am, he verified that the reading was negative for any leaks. We called PNG by 9:15am and was told that they could not reinstate the gas because the contractor used was not a certified dealer with them. During the third conversation with a PNG rep they tell us that we would have to contact the City of Charlotte to give them the contractor's certification and license information. No one thought to mention this information when we called to confirm that there were no leaks, instead they continued to give us the run around and not give proper information to rectify this issue. We are without hot water in our home for two additional days because of the lack of professionalism of the PNG customer representatives and supervisors. I wish there was another option for gas service in the Charlotte area. They do not have the customers best interest at heart. My rating for them is a zero.
