Pine Belt Chevrolet of Lakewood Reviews (111)

Review: On February 1, 2014, I purchased a used 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Pine Belt Chevrolet. The purchase price of the vehicle was $26,895. Since the vehicle was three years old and had 31,278 miles on it when purchased, I decided to purchase the optional extended warranty from Zurich Insurance. The premium I paid for the policy was $1300 for comprehensive coverage. I have been in touch with Zurich to verify that my coverage is active. They do not have my vehicle in their system as being covered. They do, however, see that Pine Belt has the information on my vehicle, but has not yet sent over the information and payment to Zurich. My vehicle is nearing the 36,000 mile factory warranty ending date and I want to have the coverage I paid for through Pine Belt to Zurich just in case a warranty issue comes up.

In addition, Zurich has tired to make contact with Pine Belt via the office manager, but no one will return their calls. I, too, have left voice mails with the general manager. I was directed to someone who handles their warranties, but she never called me back after saying she would look into it. Her name is Kristen. The general manager of Pine Belt does not return my calls either.Desired Settlement: I paid $1,300 on February 1, 2014 for extended warranty coverage and I would like to have this coverage effective immediately without having to prove to Zurich myself that I have the coverage. I feel that Pine Belt is holding onto my money in order to collect interest on it. This, to me, is short of criminal.

After reviewing the file the application was still in the file. Our accounting department has electronically submitted the policy as of this morning. I would have the consumer wait a few days to call Zurich to confirm. If there is anything else related to this consumer please reach out to me.[redacted]

Review: I went with my Dad to check out some cars I found on cars.com for my first ever car purchase. Dear god did I not know what I was walking into. [redacted] approached me and not even 1 minute into talking with him he would not shut up and kept on running numbers after numbers until my Dad told him I am just looking. He gave me a headache and even asked us if he was being too pushy during this. If you have to ask customers if you are being pushy then obviously you are and I'm not that guy that will tell him off.

What pissed me off most was how [redacted] ALWAYS lies. I only gave him my information which was verbal at the dealership after he wasted like 4 hours of my time until they closed with my Dad and I. Because [redacted] said he needed my information or he would get introuble by his boss for spending so much time with us. He assured me he would run a soft inquiry on my credit and it would not go down. It ended up being 2 hard ones which dropped my score like 15 points and I wasn't approved.

So I end up going back to Pinebelt in like month or two after still mad from the constant lies and wasted time. I ask to speak to the manager [redacted] about my situation. All I wanted is the hard inquiries removed from my Transunion. He said he has never heard of a soft inquiry even when I told him what it was. You're in the business of selling cars you have to know what a soft inquiry is. So he says I signed the long yellow sheet called a easy purchase with my information saying they can run my credit. So I say prove it because I never signed anything. He ends up coming back with 3 papers and says okay you didn't sign it, it was over the phone. Which was a lie so I ask for copies of them to take to a lawyer. He says I don't have to give you them but I will. So he goes and makes a copy and says the yellow long sheet without my signature on it and information is copyright and he can't give it to me. To be continued...Desired Settlement: All I want is for the 2 hard inquires to be removed from my Transunion because [redacted] never had my signature or permission to run a hard inquiry. I only wanted to see how much I would have to pay a month and made that clear when I talked to him over the phone later on.

[redacted],My name is [redacted], E-Commerce Director at Pine Belt. I've looked over this situation and while I understand your concerns I do not see any wrong doing by [redacted] nor [redacted]. Perhaps your memory is not serving you, but authorized a credit application verbally. How else could we have possibly secured the information to run your credit without having collected that information from you [redacted]? The soft pulls you referenced were in regard to your initial visit on a pre-owned vehicle. When [redacted] offered to look into securing 0% financing on a new vehicle, to which you agreed and provided your information via phone, your credit was then run in an effort to get you the financing that you were hoping we could get for you. Beyond that [redacted] there is unfortunately no way for us to remove a credit inquiry from your report. If you have any further questions I would be happy to discuss this further. You can reach me any time at [redacted] or via email at [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I never even test drove the car I was looking at. Don't you think I would of test drove the car if I really wanted to buy it? I also received an email asking how my test drove went. Which furthers my suspicions of a cover up because of wrongdoing. You need a signature to run a credit period. All I want is the hard inquiries removed why is this so hard to do? If it wasn't for my text messages between [redacted] and I, I would have had a lawsuit I aleady talked to a lawyer. You guys got really lucky and if you truly care you would help me out.

Review: The business in quote made a number of phone call to me about a car that they no longer own or have and info on and I asked them to stop calling me a number of times about the car they had for sell and cars they have for sell but I still get phone calls from this company. Today on 9/15/15 at 6:20pm they called me again and I asked to me taken off there calling list and he said she can't do that because he has over 100 [redacted]izcaino's in is computer and he doesn't know witch one am I even when I gave him my street address aswell.Desired Settlement: I will like a mailed letter from the business showing and telling me that they are not goin to call me again aswell if needed $30.00 if I need to change my number if it comes down to it.

Matthew,The only thing more ridiculous than your complaint was the way you acted on the phone yesterday. I am Joseph Pagano, E-Commerce Director at Pine Belt Enterprises, Inc. I was one of the gentlemen you were completely rude and utterly classless with. When I asked for your full name so that I can search our system to remove your contact information you refused to spell your last name. I told you I could search by [redacted] and when I did I told you there are 114 [redacted]s in our system to which you replied by calling me a "[redacted]" whereupon I hung up and disconnected the call. The gentlemen you called back was Rick Magliacane. He also offered to remove you from our system to which you replied by telling him to "[redacted]." I hope you are proud of that seeing as how Rick is a sixty-nine year old VETERAN of our military.Revdex.com...if you would like I can and would be more than happy to forward the recording of the inbound call so you can listen for yourself at what a classless and rude individual this is. Matthew will never be contacted by Pine Belt again...AND WE ASK HE NEVER CONTACTS PINE BELT AGAIN to verbally abuse and harass our employees.Thanks.

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

[redacted] The business only stated the thing I did wrong and nothing leading up to that point. I was called 5 times in the pass mouth an a half about a car they no longer have for sell. All the other times I called to talk to the manager at the time and I was told no is with another customer then when I asked for him to call me back he never did. Then this time when I got called and talked to him yes he did ask for my name but I did give it out so I don't know why he said I didn't when he did say that I did. But I have it out and he said he does know witch one am I do to there are over 100 [redacted]'s in his listed then I said can you find the one with the same address and phone number as mine and he said no we can't do that we can only pull it up by name. Then I said well I what to be taken off the calling list and he said I don't see how that can be done then yes I said don't be a smart as these taken me off the list then he said things that he didn't note he said fk you you as hole and have yourself a nice day. Then I called back and talked to the other man when he said he will take me off the list and nothing bad was said to him but I did say fk in st after hanging up the phone call maybe it was still on or not 100% close but that's what I said and nothing to him. But back to the problem the company never said anything about taking me off there calling listed or the $30.00 I should get if I what or need to change my phone number do to there number of calls by then. So going forward other then noting what I or you did wrong he need to fix this problem now going forward in message to one another.

Review: When I bought the car, I paid $395 for "documentation fees" and $160 for title and registration. These fees were included as the price of the car and I thought I was done paying for the car and related fees. It was never explained to me that the title and registration fee was just an estimate for the state's fees. Pine Belt is now demanding another $135 for the title and registration and holding my title hostage until I pay this extra amount that I just became aware of. I was told this on Friday, July 17. After calling and asking to talk to both the salesperson and a manager multiple times over the course of Friday and Saturday, no one called me back. My temporary title expires in three days and the company is blackmailing me in order for me to receive it and refusing to speak to me. It's not only unmoral that these fess were never explained when I purchased the car, it's dishonest that the company is refusing to speak to me and I may not receive my title in time as a result. This is just one of many service problems I have experienced after the sale of my car.Desired Settlement: Not only was I not informed that I may later owe more money for fees, I have used MVA's website to calculate how much the fees should be and by my estimation Pine Belt is off by $55. I do not believe that I should be forced to pay $135 in order to receive my title. I filled my side of the contract by receiving a Maryland inspection for the purchased car and overnighting the certificate to Pine Belt. They should not charge me, or refund me if I have to pay, and send me my title.

Response:

I apologize sincerely for this situation. My name is [redacted], E-Commerce Director at Pine Belt. Anything less than an incredible purchase experience is taken extremely seriously here at customer satisfaction is our absolute top priority. Unfortunately motor vehicle charges are always estimates until we get the exact figures back from motor vehicles themselves. Every customer signs a document to this affect that states that the charges are estimated. If you would like I can fax or email the document that you signed showing that we made you aware of this. My apologies for any confusion and for the lack of response from management this weekend...that is unacceptable as far as I am concerned and these complaints will not fall upon deaf ears. I thank you for bringing this to our attention and hope I have cleared up any lingering confusion. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted].

Review: I purchased a vehicle on March 7, 2014 paid cash. Dealer issue me a temp Reg, good for 19 days. The temp ran out, I called, and told they were waiting for the bank to release the title and that hit cold take 30-to 40 days. Why they didn`t tell up front that they did not have the title when I bought the vehicle I do not know. I assumed they had a clear title but they did not. The ran into some complications with the title, and just keep giving me the run around , like it was not there problem. I have been contacting them every few days and just get a bunch excuses. It is now May and they tell me they have the title and it should be any day now that I might receive my title and reg that I paid in full for when I bought the vehicle. They are the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever done business with.Desired Settlement: ASAP.

Review: On 06/04/2014 I bought a 2009 Cargo Van for me to go back and forth to work not used as commercial, along with the Van I also purchased a vehicle service contract protection plan l to protect me for any vehicle service that my needed to be done up to 50,000 miles.

Now 7 1/2 months later my vechicle needs a transmission and being that I have the protection plan I put a claim with superior protection plan (vehicle service contract) and they don't want to honor the claim

on false accusations now my vehicle has been in the dealership and they want me to pay for the serviceDesired Settlement: To help me solve this problem

Business

Response:

The issue is not with Pine Belt but with the extended warranty company - they are refusing coverage because they are saying that the customer is using the vehicle for commercial purposes. When the warranty was sold it was disclosed that "if" the vehicle was going to be used for commercial purposes we can't sell you a warranty. We advised by the customer at time of sale that he wasn't going to use it commercially. The van has a rack built into it by a previous customer - as a result the warranty company denied the claim. The bank - [redacted] - was made aware and actually reimbursed the customer $1600 plus reduced his payment schedule by one payment as a concession to him. Unfortunately there is nothing the dealership can do bove what the bank has already done.Kenny M[redacted]

Review: The initial interaction with Pine Belt Chevy was average, the salesman was very nice but seemed to lack a complete knowledge of the vehicle I was looking to purchase (Silverado). I explained what I was looking for in a truck and he brought out a very nice Silverado in blue. I asked several questions about its features and most importantly about the towing capacity of the truck. I explained to the salesman that I do not own a trailer at this time but over the next two years I was looking to purchase one so I wanted a minimum towing capacity of approx. 9,000lbs. The salesman did not know off-hand the capacity so he used a Chevy App on his phone and when he showed me the screen it showed a towing capacity of 9,500lbs. I looked at the phone and repeated the information out loud: 9,500lbs. Two days after the purchase was completed, I inquired with a mechanic friend to verify the features of the truck. When he checked the RPO codes, he informed me that the truck could only tow 6,200 lbs. I called the dealership immediately and spoke with the sales manager who assured me they would hold the processing of my paperwork and fix the issue. They then proceeded to process the paperwork, they stalled me for days and were continually condescending and rude during negotiations to fix the issue. When attempting to close a new sale they provided improper paperwork on the monies due, attempting to get over $400 more than the difference. When I questioned them on the numbers they continued to be agitated and rude. At that point they had already processed my loan paperwork, cashed my original down-payment check and trade-in vehicle. Short of hiring an attorney I felt I had no other recourse,so I paid the difference. They agreed that the fault was with their salesman, but instead of attempting to fix the issue, they continually disrespected me and wore me down until I couldn't take it anymore. They lied about the product and about making it right.Desired Settlement: Refund the difference I had to pay out of pocket to get the product I had originally requested and that they represented it was when they sold it to me.

Review: Saw ad on internet ([redacted]) Ad stated price was $25,999. Dealer charged $27,894 I explained the price was supposed to be $25,999 as per the ad. Frank stated that we are paying 25,999 but since we are not putting money down we would have to pay the tax, tags, transfer fees, etc. to the price of the vehicle. After reading our sales contract we discovered that he added $1,895 to the sales price in addition to the charges he just explained to me. Upon noticing we called and asked to speak to a gen. man. but we spoke to Frank. I tried to explain and Frank tried to justify the charges and said " Because your not Pine Belt customers we had to pay $1000. more for some rewards program." Then I asked what about the other $895. he said, "that was a dealer prep fee." Not once during the conversation we had regarding this sale did he inform me of that. Then he replied, "it's only $36 a month." To my wife and I it's not just $36. a month it's over $4,000 at 6.34% over 72 months (well over $4000.) Why on the contract is there a line item and dollar amount for all fees we are paying for EXCEPT that one. He kept saying, "it's in all our ads." It wasn't in our ad. After seeing our ad Frank said he would get the gen. man. for us. That's who we asked to speak with in the first place. Eventually he came back with a man named David(as per name tag) who introduced himself as the gen. man. He was not very helpful and treated us as we were stupid. He said everyone pays that. As it turns out David isn't even a gen. man. why did they introduce him as one. I just wanted to be treated fairly and honestly. Instead we were lied to some more. My wife and I are very frustrated as we worked very hard for everything we have. We try to always be honest and do things the right way. I guess we were hoping we could go there and resolve this matter like ladies and gentlemen. Instead we just got more blatant lies.Desired Settlement: We want the price adjusted accordingly (as per the ad that we bought this vehicle from) and would like for all the sales men and women to be up front and honest about hidden charges. If they charge people for those hidden fees they should have a line item and dollar amount for all charges to be paid by the customer on there contract as they itemize all the other fees,

Response:

[redacted],We have looked into your issue extensively. We have found, as you clearly wrote in your original complaint, that you were in fact made aware of the fees associated with the pre-owned vehicle you purchased. You wrote:"I tried to explain and Frank tried to justify the charges and said " Because your not Pine Belt customers we had to pay $1000. more for some rewards program." Then I asked what about the other $895. he said, "that was a dealer prep fee." "You also referenced speaking to a manager named David and wrote that he said:"everyone pays that."Again, these are your words taken directly from your complaint showing that not once but twice you were in fact told that these fees we part of your pricing up front in a very transparent way...as we do with all of our valuable customers. I can understand you not being happy about these fees...but we clearly did not attempt at all to hide these or not disclose them at all during your purchase. Here is the exact verbiage from our online ads on pre-owned vehicles:"For All Pre-Owned Inventory: Pricing reflects on pre-owned vehicles only, $1,000 Pine Belt Rewards customer dealer reimbursement. Additional $895 dealer prep fee due at time of sale. See Dealership for details, some will not qualify." If you were on a non Pine Belt website such as [redacted] the disclaimer reads:"Additional dealer fee/s may be due at time of sale. See Dealership for details or view this vehicle on www.pinebeltchevrolet.com."Again, I am sorry to hear that you do not agree with our policy but we feel that within our listing disclaimers as well as your email we were more than honest with regard to your pricing.Sincerely,Joseph P

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Joseph PSo you looked extensively? Did you even read the original complaint?Apparently only bits and pieces of it, which were taken out of context. And yes, those were my words. These were all said after the day of the purchase.Only after we discovered Frank lied to us and we asked to speak to a general manager (approx. 1 week later)If you recall, on the day of the purchase, I also questioned why the price was not $25,999 as per your ad.Frank said, "you are paying $25,999, but since we weren't putting money down we had to finance our tax, tags, trans. fee. etc.these were added to the price of the truck."Again, where is the line item and dollar amount for these additional charges?Surely that's not up front and transparent as you stated in your letter. If you did not try to hide these, or not disclose them at all on the day of purchase, again why no line item or dollar amount? Why did I only find out a week later after we called and asked to speak to the general manager? With regards to your online ad, I showed you our ad! That is your ad right? As you clearly stated in your letter additional fee/s MAY be due at time of sale. SEE DEALERSHIP FOR DETAILS.Well we did see dealer for details!! Once again in case you missed it the first time, he said "you are paying $25,999...."So again we were not told of these fees up front like you said, and that WAS hiding the fees and not disclosing them to usat all during our purchase. And you said you feel that within your listing disclaimers, you were more than honest withregard to our price. Now all of a sudden there is a line item for charges that is not on the contract we signed. After we complained about these extra charges and brought it to your attention, we get a letter from the bank sayingCHANGES were made to our contract, for DOC FEE.I feel you did not look into our issue extensively.

Regards,

Business

Response:

[redacted],Again, you clearly stated that you were informed of the additional fees that you were paying. In speaking to both Frank and David I was assured that you were informed of these fees DURING YOUR PURCHASE. You also signed several pieces of documentation that showed the entire cost of the vehicle more than once. Being as diligent a person as you seem to be I have to believe you would not/did not sign these documents without reviewing them first. That is the exact reason you sign more than one document with regard to your pricing. As I said previously, I can understand you not being happy with these fees, but I find your accusation of us trying to hide these unfounded.Thanks.

Review: I wanted a Chevy Equinox based off a promotion emailed to me by Pine Belt Chevrolet that advertised no payments until Summer 2014 (July). I purchased the vehicle early in the year and was expecting having this cushion based off what I was asked to put down on the vehicle. After multiple emails and phone calls requesting a supervisor to contact me, I have heard nothing for over 3 weeks now. When I have heard from someone they claim they'll get back to me but I never hear a word and they tried to say the promotion only applied to a lease in the first email I received (I have a lease), and when I responded saying well then it should work for me because I have a lease, they then said "Oh it's only for financed vehicles". I would not have purchased this vehicle under the terms given and feel they abused their power just to move a vehicle and now the sale went through they won't acknowledge any of my communications.Desired Settlement: I want a refund and to return the vehicle based off the dishonesty and mistrust and now complete lack of communication on their end

First I must point out that as I brought up this consumer's name my managers were very familiar with his concern because they have spoken to him numerous times. For him to say we have either ignored his concerns or calls is not true. I request the consumer provide me a copy of the email offering. The offering was from Chevrolet only on a retail purchase. The consumer leased the vehicle. He has been made aware of this numerous times. All of the documents in the file state LEASE.

No where on your ad does it state only for a finance. Also please see the attachments for backup on my end. I haven't had any contact from anyone from Pine Belt since I again requested for a manager to contact me on June 11, 2014. [redacted] told me "Sure" in response of having someone write back. I've sent more then 15 emails since then with no phone call or email response. Also on th attachment besides the ad Pine Belt sent, [redacted] stated to me that only on a lease would I receive this promo. To me this is false advertisement. Again at this point give me 4 months of payments or let me return the car. Do I need to contact an attorney regarding this?

I am rejecting this response because: It's not what was promised to me. The ad was emailed to me around 3/15/2014. Nothing indicated whether it was a lease or a finance and your own Mr. [redacted] indicated in the email attached it was for leases. I just want what was promised and why I purchased the vehicle. I would not have purchased the vehicle under the terms that have occurred. Also what was the full price of the vehicle, because the ads indicate a low payment structure of $199 for the Equinox and I'm paying around $450. Why is this payment more then doubled??

I am rejecting this response because:

You're company sent email promised no payments until summer 2014 when vehicle was purchased in March. That was my main reason for purchasing and I inquired about what the payments would be immediately after. Your own sales and internet manager (as was previously attached) even indicated that program was for leases which I have. It's not my fault you don't want to live up to what you promised. I need to speak to the owner of Pine Belt to finish out this conversation otherwise I'll be forced to move forward with proceeding towards a lawsuit for false advertisement with my attorney. All I've ever asked is to live up to what you promised in your own email and was confirmed by your employees. I've sent repeated requests for a higher up to call me directly and haven't received a phone call or email in response. Please advise, do you intend on living up to what your promotion stated or not? If not I'd like to return my vehicle and the down payment I put on the car. I purchased the vehicle with the understanding I'd have no payments until July 2014, Pine Belt didn't live up to their own promotion.

I am rejecting this response because: I should not have had to go to the extent and retain and pay for a lawyer to get satisfaction. Only after, did I get results once my attorney was involved. Even after my attorney was involved I had to deal with going to the dealership several times to pick up a check that was not there only to find out the Vp My counsel was dealing with had a check for another Case that was not related to mine.I feel I Had to settle for a less than perfect new vehicle< the truck had spatters of compound that caused dull spots on multiple areas of the truck, that the dealership did take care of that issue im sure by sending to a professional detailer to compound out. New vehicles should not have to have excessive compound jobs. Overall the dull spots did come out fine< the other issue : there was clearly body work done on a small dent on the back that I can see and feel. It is very minor but the fact that not an offer to give back a credit for me having to settle for this is not right. New vehicles should not have body work done on them< and if so, a discount should be offered if the imperfection is something the new owner can live with.At this point with all the aggravation of settling for a less than perfect new truck and having to spend money on retaining a lawyer< I think there should at least be an offer to compensate me for all I had to deal with.

Review: Car dealership send me an email with a price quote and even number for a specific truck I sent an email back asking them if it was the correct information they verified yes I called them and asked them if it was the correct information he said yes I got there my name was on the particular truck that they sent me the email for and when I went to sign the papers they told me they made a mistake and it was the wrong car . Clearly bait and switch. I threatened to write to the Revdex.com and GM's headquarters and they in good faith tried to work a deal with me to their best ability it was not what they quoted but I tried to be reasonable and paid $6500 more than the price quote. I gave them my car took possession of the new car Saturday sign the papers and paid cash. Today they called me and told me they couldn't honor the price they gave me because I used GMand points which I am entitled to through the GM credit card. First they tried to tell me that I was cat and can only use 1000 points I spoke to GM they told me there was no "cap"On my points and I could use the total of the amount of 1008. The GM card is in my name my husbands name and my sister-in-law's name and they are trying to tell me because the car is not in the primary card holders name they have to take the points back. Which I happen to know is 100% incorrect just trying to scam me again !Desired Settlement: I want it known on the Revdex.com's records that pine belt does not do legitimate business with its customers. I want them investigated and penalized if appropriate.

Response:

My name is [redacted], E-Commerce Director at Pine Belt. We discussed this issue previously and thought we came to an understanding. I have also been told that we did contact GM and cleared up the issue with the rewards points. If this is not the case please let me know and I'll be happy to do all I can to assist you.
