Review: Pnc sold/lease me a clover station. They said it comes with training and support. They also said that I would only need to buy one app. After getting the station, it needed way more apps each with monthly cost the support the give was no good and doesn't help with third party apps like they said it would. Nothing they told me was true. It's been a month and still no help from them. I've made contact multiple times but they push me off and said someone will contact me. I'm tired of trying to reach out to them and not getting anywhere.Desired Settlement: Take the product back!

Review: Bank has wrongly added two overdraft fees totaling $72 while the account in question had a positive balance.

The Timeline of events according to receipts and my ledger:

3/17: With a positive balance of $13.43 I made a purchase of $7.49 bringing the balance to $5.94

3/18: Payment of $99.72 was made to [redacted] bringing the balance of the account to ($93.78)

3/19: Overdraft fee (not in question) of $36 dollars added to account. Total Balance ($129.78)

3/19: A check was deposited into the account of $170. $100 was deposited immediately with the remaining $70 to be released first thing on the morning of 3/21. Total balance (29.78)

3/20: A purchase was made of $8.70. Total Balance ($38.48)* Caveat: Under the terms and conditions of the account I have until 9PM on the next business day to deposit money into the account to avoid an overdraft fee.

3/21: Remaining $70 was deposited into the account (avoiding any fees). Total balance $31.52.

3/21: Overdraft fee of $36 for the purchase made 3/17 was added to the account. Total balance (4.48)

3/21: Overdraft fee of $36 for the purchase made on 3/20 was added to the account. Total balance (50.48)

According to the bank representative, this is their timeline:

"I see that the account started the business day of 3/18/2016 with a ledger balance of $13.43. The amount of posted items for this business day was $99.72, causing an overage of $-86.29. Please be aware that any time an item posts, to cause an overdraft situation, the account may be assessed one overdraft charge per posted item. Overdraft charges are assessed on the business day after the posted transaction. When the account is overdrawn please know you have until the end of that same business day to cover the balance. If the balance is not covered by the end of that same day, there will be a fee assessed the very next morning. The next business day, 3/21/2016 the beginning balance of the day was $-86.29. There was a credit in the amount of $170.00 and we did clear the first $100.00 to cover the overdrawn balance. There was still a hold on $70.00. The available balance was $13.71. The amount of the posting items this day was $52.19 causing a second overdraft of $-38.48."Desired Settlement: The Refund of $72 to the account. Neither of the overdraft fees credited to the account on 3/21 were warranted.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The bank has not contacted me properly to resolve this matter. I have requested written correspondence so there is written evidence of what is said, however PNC has not attempted to reach me this way, Nor did they even attempt to contact me in any form on 4/6/16 as they have stated in this complaint. The only back and fourth I have had with the bank was through secure messages to dispute further charges made to the account while my balance should have been positive. I have asked that the bank contact me in writing and they have not.I am attaching the receipt for DEBIT CARD PURCHASE XXXXX[redacted]o show that it was infact made with a positive balance, I am also attaching the messages I have sent to PNC regarding the extra fees, now totaling $216.Regards,[redacted]

Review: contact her, I have tried twice and left voice mail messages. Since we can not seem to make contact I would like to receive in writing: Why with a phone call regarding a 4,000 payment was my account immediately touched and that amount removed with out ANY explanation. Why without explanation was my home equity payments reversed immediately and why I had to go thru my check book and verify check numbers of payment I made to this account. MY ACCOUNT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION TO ME AS TO WHAT WAS GOING TO BE DONE AND WHY!!! AGAIN, A VERY UNHAPPY AND DISSATISFIED PNC CUSTOMER !!! their response: Re: Dispute Transaction Question Date: 02/11/2016 Message: Dear [redacted] Thank you for contacting us through the PNC Secure Message Center. Review: I would like to refinance my PNC business loan but I am unable to get any help from the company that gave me the loan. I have made every payment on time but the monthly payment is so high that it is difficult to grow my business, even working a job on the side. They are unwilling to let me refinance and I don't understand why? I am a small struggling business that needs to refinance so that I can grow. They gave me the loan in the first place and I have never had a late payment. From my understanding, the options they are giving me are to continue paying or default. That doesn't seem like they are helping a small business but instead making it easy to fail.Desired Settlement: I would like to refinance or at least get an explanation of why they lend to a small business but choke them on the monthly payment so that they can't grow.

Review: I had a close scheduled for a new purchase home on November 14th. On November 12th PNC changes my underwriter and requests an entire different set of documents, some of which had already been sent. We miss November 14th deadline because a final inspection wasn't ordered properly and wasn't completed until 24 hours before close. We worked the entire week of November 17th-21st. The final inspection still wasn't received until the 20th. I communicated with my loan officer ([redacted]) she was disrespectful and unhelpful. I spoke with her manager [redacted]) she couldn't remedy the situation. Finally, I ma working with the Northeast Market Manager [redacted] and now he can't get my loan to close. On November 24th they changed my underwriter for the third time, and my builder and myself received another list of requirements to fulfill. We sent everything we could get. It is my understanding in a VA loan situation I provide financial information, and Veterans Status, the builder provides the housing documentation required by the VA, and the loan should be approved. I was pre-approved for this project all the way back in April. All the disagreements aren't over financials, or inspections, its allover technicalities. I have three children living out of boxes because I was told to start packing. My lease is up on my rental because I gave 30 days notice. This isn't anyway for someone to be treated since they were pre-approved for a project and stayed under budget. I have at least 75 or more documenting this ordeal, but can only upload 5mb through website.Desired Settlement: First I want my house closed upon ASAP, since it is not being held up by any financial issues. Secondly, I want a detailed brief from PNC on a change in process for this type of loan because I don't want a fellow Veteran to fall into this web of promises with no delivery for them.

Review: I filed bankruptcy in 2010, it was discharged 11/2010. PNC bank was notified of the bankruptcy. Per the bankruptcy PNC file Motion for Relief from Automatic Stay and the order was granted. However PNC continues to report to [redacted] (not [redacted])that I have a delinquent account and I am almost $64,000.00 behind in payments. Also the tax records in NJ still state that I am the legal owner of the property which is prohibiting me from obtaining a new mortgage.Desired Settlement: I need this fraudulet information removed from the Experian Credit Bureaus report, I also need the tax record corrected to have my name removed and PNC as the legal owner of the property. I do not own that property at this time, it was relinquished at the time of the bankruptcy filing.

Review: On march 14th I had an account balance of $655.30 then I deposited a check in the amount of $2,358.74 bringing my balance to $3,014.04. Then I had several charges taken out after the fact of my check being deposited and receiving notification that my deposit had been accepted. I had enough money in my account to cover all of my transactions except for one charge which was for $979.00. Which I purposely charged to my account after receiving Notification on my account that my check had been accepted. Yet somehow I received 4 overdraft fees. Even if my check wasn't accepted I had enough in my account to cover everything except for the Credit card that I paid off only after thinking I had the money in my account to cover it. So even even if my check didn't post I feel I should've only received one overdraft fee not four.Desired Settlement: I would like all four of the overdraft fee's refunded to my account.

Review: I have had a bank account with this bank for over a year and never had any problems, on October 31st the problems started. I had 26xx dollars in my account with 18.88 in reserve I had 4 transaction that left me a balance of 5.00 then in the afternoon I looked at my account and it said I had a transaction coming in for 36.97 I then deposited 80.00 which should have left me 48.03,since this day I have been charged 7 overdraft fees of 37.00 with a grand total of 259.00. This is unacceptable business practice. I have been to the bank three times filed a complaint with corporate and spoke on the phone once local with an employee. I did everything as a bank customer to ever prevent my account going in the negative and they still stole 259.00 from me. I have been told to be patient and perhaps I will get something back. I have been re-routed enough to know that this is not acceptable practices not even for a bank .Desired Settlement: I believe that since they have made this error and continue to make it, I should be refunded all my overdraft fees back. I am to the point of hiring a lawyer to represent me in this matter and am 100% certain once I do this would turn into a class action lawsuit as I certain many more customers of been taken of advantaged of.

Review: I have been a PNC customer since 1998...maybe longer. I have two loans with them and three checking accounts. Apparently debit card transactions are denied when there are insufficient funds in an account, but other online transactions, like [redacted] are paid and result in an over draft fee of $36 per transaction. My account was charged with 4 overdraft fees because of this distinction. This is not commonly known information. I asked for refund of two of the fees and was denied. The reason given was "the system won't allow it". Unacceptable. I am not asking that all the fees be refunded...just two. These fees are excessive. I am seriously considering closing all of my accounts. Please help.Desired Settlement: Two of the $36 fees refunded to my account. $72 total.

Response:

Please allow me to respond to your complaint filed on December 10, 2014 with the Revdex.com of Western Pennsylvania (“Revdex.com”) regarding recent Overdraft Item Fees assessed to your PNC Bank, National Association (“PNC”) checking accounts. I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. In determining whether you have sufficient funds in your account to pay checks and other withdrawal items, PNC’s general practice is to consider all pending electronic transactions (including, but not limited to, point-of-sale transactions) for which PNC has received notice, even if those transactions have not yet posted to your account. Pending transactions immediately impact the balance used to pay items presented for payment during nightly processing. We receive transaction information from merchants and other sources throughout the business day. Although pending transactions are reflected in your available balance, Overdraft Item Fees are only assessed on the posted items presented to your account against uncollected or nonsufficient funds. PNC’s general practice is to post items according to the date and time they were authorized or when PNC received notice of the transaction. Details of our policy are disclosed in the Withdrawals section of our Account Agreement for Personal Checking, Savings and Money Market Accounts (“Account Agreement”). A copy of the Account Agreement is enclosed for your review. According to our records, your Performance Checking account ending in [redacted] (“Performance Account”) and your Standard Checking account ending in [redacted] (“Standard Account”) are currently Opted-Out of Overdraft Coverage. Therefore, the accounts are only protected by PNC’s standard overdraft practice. The standard overdraft practice allows PNC, at our discretion, to authorize and pay overdrafts for checks and other transactions using the account number and automatic bill payments. It does not allow PNC to authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM and everyday debit card transactions. With standard overdraft practice, PNC can charge a maximum of four (4) Overdraft Item Fees per day. If the account remains overdrawn, additional fees may be charged. While no specific activity is referenced in your complaint, my review of your recent Performance Account activity reflects that on December 8, 2014 your beginning balance was $47.20. Two (2) online transfers from your Standard Account, each in the amount of $50.00, credited to your Performance Account. Additionally, an Overdraft Protection Transfer in the amount of $7.54 credited to your Account from your Standard Checking account ending in [redacted]. This left you with a balance to pay items of $154.74. Subsequently, eight (8) transactions totaling $179.43 presented to your Performance Account for posting, leaving you with a negative balance of - $24.69. Three (3) ACH [redacted] transactions; $19.95 to [redacted], $10.59 to [redacted], and $2.99 to [redacted] each overdrew your Performance Account. As these three (3) transactions were ACH transactions, PNC’s standard overdraft practice was utilized and three (3) $36.00 Overdraft Item Fees were appropriately assessed on December 9, 2014, as disclosed in the notice sent to your address of record. Also on December 8, 2014, your Standard Account had an available balance of $101.46. The two (2) above-mentioned transfers to your Performance Account, each in the amount of $50.00, posted to your Standard Account. Additionally, one (1) ACH transaction to [redacted] in the amount of $104.71 posted to the Account, leaving you with a final balance of negative -$103.25. PNC’s standard overdraft practice was utilized and one (1) $36.00 Overdraft Item Fee was appropriately assessed on December 9, 2014, as disclosed in the notice sent to your address of record. It is PNC’s practice to refund any fee assessed as the result of a proven bank error. As no proven bank error occurred, your request for refunds is respectfully denied. PNC Alerts, which in addition to keeping your account register up to date, recording purchases as they are made, and maintaining a positive account balance, may help you effectively manage the account and avoid the assessment of fees. Enclosed for your records are copies of the following: • Two (2) Overdraft Notices dated December 9, 2014 • Overdraft Protection Transfer notice dated December 8, 2014 • Consumer Schedule of Service Charges and Fees - Performance Checking • Consumer Schedule of Service Charges and Fees - Standard Checking On behalf of PNC, I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with this matter. I attempted to reach you by phone on December 15 and 23, 2014 and by email on December 23, 2014 to discuss your account activity, however, I was unsuccessful in reaching you. Thank you for your time in allowing me to clarify our position. If you have any additional questions or specific account activity you would like to review, please call me toll free at ###-###-####. Review: I closed a Virtual Wallet account on Dec 15th 2015 because I was moving to another state that did not have a PNC location within 150 miles. I was informed that my account was overdrafted on Feb 15th 2016. After several calls to customer service and to the collections department I found out that A. one of the savings accounts attached to the closed account (the Growth account) had never been closed and had been debited 51.99 from an automatic payment that always came out of the checking account. This payment instead of being denied because the checking account was closed was debited from a savings account that was not closed (somehow the checking account closed on Dec 15th 2015, the other virtual wallet savings wasnt closed until Dec 31st, and the growth account is still open and overdrawn. I was told by both the collections and customer service that this payment may have been pending when the account was closed, yet the payments did not go thru until 12 days afterwards and it NEVER should have been deducted from a SAVINGS account that this company did NOT have access to. I did pay the money that was paid out and am in the process of closing that account (that I was TOLD TWICE by the PNC location that it was all CLOSED on Dec 15th 2015). Honestly I would just like an explanation as to how an account that was supposedly closed remained open and how when an automated payment that should of been denied fom the closed checking account was then debited from a SAVINGS account manually that did not have any money in it and should of also been closed before that payment was even attempted (It was DEC 27th before they even billed it. I believe this was an attempt to cause a closed account to go in the negative in an attempt to extort overdraft charges. I will never do business with a PNC bank again.Desired Settlement: I would like an explanation as to A. why when a virtual wallet account is closed the savings accounts that are BUILT INTO the checking account are closed at vastly different times (DEC 15th 2015 Checking closed, DEC 31st before the Reserve was closed, and obviously not even today that the Growth account was closed because of a debit that should never have been debited). B. and an explanation as to why when this automated payment was declined by the checking account it was manually deducted from the Growth account and throwing an account that should not even be allowed to go in the negative into the negative in an obvious attempt to charge overdraft charges. C. and an explanation as to how a SAVINGS (the growth) account can even be in the negative and how a non_checking account can be charged overdraft charges.

Review: PNC Bank sent a letter dated September 1, 2015 that was received by me from the US mail carrier on September 15, 2015, giving me 11 business days to close my bank accounts. PNC Bank cited no reasons in the letter for closing my account. I received phone calls from PNC Bank via legal audio recorded lines on April 15, 2015 and April 27, 2015 of which the bank manager from the Randolph Bank location for PNC Bank asked questions about customers making deposits into our account as a result of his upper levels asking him questions. He also stated that banking law forbids business clients from making deposits into our account for purchases from our company. I asked him where this law is as I have never heard about it and have never heard that it is illegal to conduct legal business through a legal bank account. He said he was not sure and would get back with me, for which he never did. As far as I'm aware, bank accounts are in place for businesses to conduct legal business activity, for which we do. I cannot understand why our accounts are being closed when we have done nothing wrong. I cannot understand how PNC Bank can have a letter dated September 1, 2015 and I receive it on September 15, 2015 and they have already restricted access using my debit card prior to me even receiving this letter. This bank needs to be investigated and I am more than willing and able to share the audio recordings from PNC Bank.

Review: The PNC bank has called my home at least 10 times a day, when I pick up the call it is a automated call asking for 2 individuals who do not live here. The only prompt is if your one of these people hit 1 if not have them call PNC Bank. If you type 1 to try to tell them the people don't live here it asks for the last few digits of their bank card (which I obviously do not have) so the number they provided to have them call.. I call to let them know to stop calling my house. Their system recognizes the phone number and asks if this is the number i'm calling from I indicate that yes it is. It then asks for that last few digits of the account #, I end up inputting wrong digits and they say they'll connect me.. I've been on hold for at least 15 minutes and still on hold as I write this complaint. This Bank needs to have a better system to allow customers who do not want to hear their phone calls 10 to 15 times a day to indicate the persons they are looking for do not live at this address and do not have the phone number their robo phone system is using to call my house.Desired Settlement: Correct their phone system to allow users who are not the persons being called to opt out to not get any future calls. I've already filed a complaint on the [redacted] site, but that's like the black hole anything you put in their system you never hear anything from. Terrible customer service once I got a hold of the individual, didn't want to hear my suggestion just wanted to pull my number, probably busy because everyone is calling them to tell them to stop calling their home.

Review: Hi,My January 21, 2014 banking transaction listing doesn't show any negative transactions - no transaction pulled my running balance on negative side. Day end balance was $4.87 on positive side but bank still charges me two overdraft fees in the total amount of $72.On the same day, Jan 21st, I called PNC and they told me some transactions hit my account on negative but PNC never presented it on my transaction listing. One of their associates manually calculated my daily balance and she figured I was really $4.87 on positive side, then, she asked me to go to the branch to talk to branch manager to have those OD Fees removed.I went to the branch (Jan 21st 2pm) and spoke to Mr. [redacted] - Officer Assistant Branch Manager. He told me that all OD Fees are valid and he will not remove any of those but at the same time he couldn't explain why my listing doesn't show up and transactions causing my account to be negative and still being charged OD Fees. He said even if my Virtual Wallet listing doesn't show up OD transactions, two transactions were negative.I asked why I can not see any - he still couldn't explain. He also couldn't explain why I'm being charged $72 for OD Fees for that day even if this day ends up on positive balance. From my point of view and from the listing PNC Bank is presenting me with there is no reason for the OD Fees I was charged with and that is my issue I would like to resolve.Desired Settlement: PNC Bank presented me with the proof of me being on positive balance - There is no OD Items on my listing. All what happened is a Bank error and I will not pay for system errors in their computer system. I spent about 5 hours to resolve this issue and I need refund of the fees I was mistakenly charged with ($72) and reimbursement for the time I spent to resolve the issue. (5 x $35= $175)

Review: I have a checking, credit card and overdraft protection account with Pnc. I just cannot take the abuses and gouging anymore.

Let us start with the Credit card.

The account is on auto pay, however Pnc does not processe those payments in order to charge late fees and more interests also messing my credit in the process. I do have records of the account being on autopay.

When it comes to the checking account I do not know where to start. I have been with National City since 2000.

This account has been a headache with Pnc over the past couple of years.

Let us talk about the OD protection. When a payment is made for the full amount utilized, Pnc will withdraw the amount and hold it, denying the very purpose of the account. Then Pnc will process all the transactions that will result in fees being charged . After the company maximized the fees charged to the account the payment is finally made available to your OD protectection. The question remains to protect me against what?

My personal favorite happened this week.

Pnc sold me an invalid cashier's check that was returned to me. I have just found out that fees were incurred for this mess.

I cannot take it any longer.

I m tired of being charged fees for the games and tricks. After 16 years,, this is what my bank has turned into.Desired Settlement: I want all my money back, I want the proper adjustments made to my credit report, and more.

Review: After speaking with [redacted] I was advised to fax a copy of my [redacted] insurance policy to [redacted] Insurance Company which I did, she then advised me that the 3rd party company would determine if the information I sent was sufficient. I believe since PNC Bank hired this company and I paid PNC Bank then PNC should reimburse my illegal fees charged on my account. I am just trying to get my over payment please. I prefer not to get a lawyer involved or a suit case against PNC Bank If this has happened to me I am sure there are many PNC customer s this has happened too.Desired Settlement: or maybe a class action suit against PNC Bank

Response:

I am looking to be reimbursed from the insurance policy that was added to my account for the past 5years. PNC added an insurance policy to my vehicle believing I didn't have insurance. I have made several attempts to supply the required documents but I continue to the run around from PNC. My payment was increased by 9.90 a month..if I don't pay my full payment then I would get a late payment......I hope this answer your questions,.
