Review: I received a phone call from PNC Bank that I had an outstanding balance from 2004 (of $330) which needed to be paid and they were charging interest to toal $1700+ to pay off the account. I went to a local branch to attempt to get more information regarding this account. After 2 days and numerous phone calls the branch manager was still able to get only basic information from an office in Cleveland. He gave me the numeber for a [redacted]. who I called 4 times and received voicemail each time. I did get one brief return call left on a voice machine although the message was cut off due to time and she did not call to leave a more complete message. I attempted to reach her manager [redacted]. on 4 occasions and received NO calls back. In August PNC randomly deducted money from my account for this supposed balance, this month they deducted more than twice what they deducted in August. I have made numerous calls to them to attempt to discuss this balance and reach a solution. They do not respond and self withdraw money from my account. Are they not held to any standards and accountability? The original account was from a bank that is no longer in business and the account was supposedly "charged off" more than 10 years ago.Desired Settlement: PNC should call me to discuss the account and a payoff with a planned withdrawal and not random withdrawals of varying amounts. This balance was supposedly from a previous bank that closed.

Review: I bank with PNC I am constantly having problems with this bank. I just put money into the account and they make my account negative and constant fraud

My wife just deposited 3 or 4 checks into our account. I called up the bank they are blaming me for it. How is it my fault the bank shouldn't put money into your account till the check is cleared. I am also having problems with there system and fraud keeps occurring on my account and they don't want to help or do any thing for me. I just want to get out of this bank I've never had so many problems with one bank before like this one. I have talked to many different employees there and I feel they are using discrimination against me.Desired Settlement: What I think should be done is they fix my account and close it out. I don't think they should blame customers when this problem is the company and systems fault. I have had nothing but problems and regret ever joining this bank. Hopefully you can get it settled thank you so much.

Review: I had a revolving credit line with pnc bank. I paid my loan off so I could bring my balance back to zero with the bank. I gave them 7 thousand of my hard earned money to pay them off. They turn around on me and close my account after I bring my balance back to zero. This was an important loan for me and my family to have. I spoke with multiple people at pnc. The one lady told me to write a letter stating u would like my account reopened and it would be reopened. So I did all of that and they denied me my line of credit to be opened.Desired Settlement: I want my account reopened. Its nnot right that I give them 7k and they turn around and close my account. Im baffled that they get away with treating their customers this way.

Response:

What they did to me was completely wrong. They neglected to tell me when I put my account on hold because I wanted to pay it off before we used it again that it could not be used again.so after I pay them 7 thousand dollars they close the account. Had they told me anything about that I would have left 100$ in the account n used it again. Instead I did the right thing and paid them off and then they screwed me! This bank is unethical and they treat their long time customers like [redacted] and its very upsetting!

Review: On July 28 2015 my account was overdrawn which was unexpected because my direct deposit was supposed be deposited into my account that day. I checked my online banking, my direct deposit hadn't went though so I expected a fee. The next day I checked my online banking and I was charged with two fees of $36.00 for insufficient funds so I called PNC to see why I was had received $72.00 in fees I was told because two separate charges were posted on the same day. I asked if there was anyway I could be reimbursed for one of the fees I was told it wasn't possible. I've been with PNC for 5 years now and they're getting worse when it comes to these fees even if you go to the ATM to put money in your account after it being overdrawn less then 24hrs they don't even consider it or try to help they just add more fees. I've had $108 in fees just this week alone because I couldn't get to the ATM in time. I don't have money to just give away I really thought PNC was a good bank at one point.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund for some of my fees

Review: I opened a Home Equity Loan with PNC Bank in April 2012. With the low mortgage rates being offered now I want to lock in to a lower rate. I applied with PNC and the rate was higher and value of our home came in $20,000 lower. While I would love to keep everything with PNC I can't justify keeping my loans with you and paying a lot more in interest. On my contract for my loans it states there MAY be a pre payment penalty of up to $350 if closed prior to April 17, 2015. I am hoping to close next week and am being told I must pay the full $350 for all three loans. While I understand the contract states I MAY be charged UP TO $350 I feel PNC is just trying to take advantage of me. I would understand 100% if I opened the loan and closed it a few months later, but I am about 97% complete where the pre payment fee would fall off. I have tried to discuss with the Consumer Escalation Team and they basically told me tough sh@#. I have been with PNC for over 14 years and have numerous checking, savings and credit cards with you. While I would love to stay a PNC customer after the way I have been treated the past few days I might take all my accounts elsewhere. All I want is somebody to listen and reason with me and come up with something that is fair to both PNC and me.Desired Settlement: Something fair...I understand the contract states there MAY be a fee of up to $350, but I am being charged the full amount for all three loans. My refinance will prob hit so the loans will be paid off on or around April 5th....This is 12 days prior to where the fee would fall off completely. I would like somebody to call me to discuss. Maybe waive 2 of the three fees? cut all three fees in half? Anything to show a gesture of good will for a long time customer.

Review: PNC continues to post transactions in an order to manipulate your account to incur as many NSF fees as possible. On 10/05/15, I made a cash deposit transaction of $141.00. On that same day I went to [redacted] and used my Debit card for $34.24 . Even according to the daily text message received from their company, I had a positive balance. According to the correspondence I received from PNC, [redacted] transaction was presented on 10/05/15 and posted on 10/06/15. An electronic transaction in the amount of $180.00 was presented on 10/06/15 and posted on 10/07/15, yet I was charged two $36.00 NSF fees as they processed the $180.00 transaction before the $34.24. Yet again it occurred on 10/15/15. I made a $300.00 check deposit on 10/14/15. On 10/14/15 I also had a check clear for 210.42. Despite the fact that their fine print states deposits are posted prior to debits. check was processed first and yet another $36.00 fee was incurred. Despite class action law suits, ans new rules in place, banks, specifically PNC, are unfairly running up fees on the accounts. Funny thing is, even there statement shows they are charging fees despite a positive balance. I would just like two NSF fees in the amount of $72.00 refunded to may account, as I feel these fees were unjustly charged. A copy of my transactions are below.

Date Description Withdrawals Deposits balance

10/15/15 OVERDRAFT ITEM FEE $36.00 $56.99

10/14/15 UTILITIE PAYMENT $210.42 $92.99

10/06/15 DEBIT CARD [redacted] $34.24 $106.22

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: PNC Bank keeps charging me for NSF payments even after I follow their "POLICY" which as stated by THEM in an email to me "At PNC Bank, National Association ("PNC Bank"), we have a policy of providing prompt, although not immediate, availability of funds that you deposit in your checking or savings accounts. If we delay your availability for one of the reasons discussed below, you may not withdraw the funds in cash and we will not use the funds to pay checks that you have written. This policy is in effect in all PNC Bank markets. Concerning the availability of local checks, the first $100.00 from each deposit of local checks will be available the evening of the business day of your deposit to pay checks you have written that are presented to us that evening for posting. The balance of the deposit is available the next business day to pay checks you have written and for cash withdrawal" I have been depositing my check on Friday. Some of the time the check clears Saturday, Others totally disappear, after showing as a deposit Friday until Monday or Tuesday, when it magically reappears as a misc deposit. I have even deposited cash and it still vanishes until I get a few withdrawals go through and they charge me NFS fees. This has happened every week for the past 3 weeks. I have never had a problem before but all of a sudden I keep getting messed with. I get the same response every time. Unless it is a PNC error we can not credit your account. Well if you go against you posted policy, isn't that a PNC error. I am transfering my money to a real Bank but I think everyone needs to know PNC is not to be trusted!!!

Review: On 10/21/2015 my wife attempted to access funds within her PNC Bank account and was unable to do so due to a freeze on her account. When she contacted PNC on 10/21/2015 no information was provided as to when her account would be accessible or why the freeze was put on to begin with but was told she would be called back later that day. She received no call back and had to call the next day to get any traction, at this point they again gave no substantial information other than her account was frozen and someone would call her back. Again we received no call back for days at which point due to our current situation we needed to gain access to the funds somehow to finance our living situation. We attempted to transfer funds through a third party service provider from her account to mine which worked. We then transferred more funds (4 transfers total) as the account remained frozen without a customer service call for the next 7 days. On the 7th day, 10/28/15, the funds that had previously been provided to my account were withdrawn without any authorization by myself due to the freeze on her account and a pull back by the third party service provider. Additionally the funds never returned to my wife's account and she and I were both charged overdraft/NSF charges related to the money coming from my account as well as the money not being able to come from her account due to the freeze. At this point since we had still not received a call back from the original 10/21/15 call my wife called again to which no informative information was provided. My wife then went to a branch to discuss and was told their system shows a service rep explained the situation to her, even though that was not the case and there was nothing they could do. Due to freeze placed on the account, the inept customer service provided and lack of information we were charged $252.00 (7 charges at $36.00) in overdraft/NSF charges between both of our accounts.Desired Settlement: I would like PNC to first find the missing $1,010.00 of funds that were transferred from my wife's account to mine and then removed from my account but not deposited back to my wife's. Then refund $144.00 to my wife's account and $108.00 to my account to cover the fees related to the transaction which was caused by the freeze they placed on the account and inept customer service not explaining the situation. Probably would be beneficial for them to take a class on customer service.

Review: My mortgage payment goes up every year, this is because they escrow the wrong amount each year. This last year I changed insurance companies to save some money for my home owners insurance. PNC escrowed for the new amount, which insurance payment was less due to me shopping around, but PNC escrowed for more than payment due to previous years shortage. I paid 2014 home owners insurance out of my own pocket, thinking I was getting ahead for the year. PNC also paid my home owners insurance, so I had the PNC check refunded back to PNC and put back in my escrow account. Started the year with a positive escrow balance. PNC still raised my monthly mortgage payment in order to escrow for the raise in taxes and insurance. They not only accepted the home owners insurance refund, they also raised my payment and escrowed for more than they needed. It is time for another escrow analysis and somehow I have yet another shortage... Where did my refund check go in addition to PNC escrowing for this amount? I have called numerous times and cannot get a good explanation. All they do is read the same information I can read by going online to view my account. The last represenative I spoke with [redacted]) was not only NOT helpful, she was rude.

Review: In June of 2014 My bank account at PNC and my mom's account were both victims of fraudulant charges, my [redacted] account was fraudulantly used, many many times, and it put my [redacted] account in the negatives, as well as both of our bank accounts. I disputed the charges with [redacted] and pnc, but from pnc I didn't get all of the overdraft fees back, and there were still charges that weren't disputed. It was a mess, after some time, our accounts were closed by PNC and we were help responsible for the charges and fees. my account was around 530, my moms was near 300. I didn't know of anyway of fighting it so I let it go, well I started to get phone calls from collections on the accounts, so I decided to look into it further. I spoke with the corporate office who then contacted my local [redacted] branch, and advised them to open disputes on anything that wasn't disputed, there were nearly 60 things total. I went to the bank and signed for all of the ACH charges, around 30 needed signed, My contact there was the assistant branch manager, Tenelle P[redacted]. She found all of the undisputed charges and started disputes for me, she said it would take a while because the merchants had to be contacted about each transaction, apparently the ATM dispute services didn't take this seriously at all. I was trying to correct an error that should have been taken care of a year ago, I should not be responsible for someone fraudulantely using these account, and have to make payments on them. I really wanted to oopen 2 new accounts for us there, because they were usually a great bank, but in this instance, they didn't try to help at all. They claim they investigated and reviewed and looked at atm film, but I don't even know which charges were disputed, I wasn't really allowed to look at the statements, I'm locked out of the accounts, they wouldn't let me back in, and I wasn't given copied to review all charges. They denied my claim in just a few days. I can upload the paper to show this.Desired Settlement: I want the accounts brought current, because of what happened to them, paypal found these charges to be fraudulant, and now PNC wants to make me pay around 800 dollars on fees and charges I did not do. This isn't right, I want these accounts cleared up, and I would like to be able to open new accounts. I have a totally different paypal account and different bank cards, nothing like this has happened again. This is unfair, and I want it treated seriously

Review: I have been with PNC for 12 years and for the last five years I have been told that their policy allows one courtesy overdraft fee to be refunded per year. On 7/31/15 I received an overdraft fee and immediately called PNC and ask for the annual refund. The consultant told me that their policy changed and they no longer refund overdraft fees. I asked to speak with a supervisor since I had never been notified of the change. I was place on hold, we the consultant returned to the phone she stated that her supervisor was sent the request to PNC headquarters and they will issue the refund. One week later, I still had not received the refund, so I call the headquarters and spoke with a man that stated he was the manager. I asked about the policy and he stated that their was no such policy. I then asked why was the policy mentioned to me for over 5 years, he then said well its not a policy that we put on your bank information. He then said that he was denying my request so I asked to speak with his boss, he replied, I'm denying your request and I have the final say.Desired Settlement: $36.00 refund.

Review: When I had paid off my outstanding credit card debt over the phone with PNC bank, I had requested they cancel the automatic payments I had set up through an outside bank account for the minimum payment on the card, as I was worried the minimum payment would still be withdrawn after I had already paid off my account. I was told by several associates that this had been cancelled. a month later, another thirty dollar minimum payment was withdrawn from my bank account, causing me to overdraft. After several more calls to PNC customer service, I was finally transferred to [redacted] in the retail escalations department who then requested I email her a copy of my bank statement showing the unauthorized withdrawal as well as the fact that it caused me to overdraft my account and she would then put in a request for me to be reimbursed for my overdraft fee as well as what had been taken from my account after I had already cleared my outstanding balance with PNC. A month later, I still received no sort of reimbursement so I called another representative who had informed me that Janet dropped the ball and never requested my refund. she then requested a refund for me and advised it would be mailed the next business day. Another month went by and I still did not receive a refund. I called escalations again and they advised they will look into it and have a supervisor call me in a couple days. It has been a week and I still have not heard from this supervisor nor have I received reimbursement for my over payment and the charges that incurred because of PNC's negligence. I have called PNC countless times and talked to more representatives than I can count. I do not trust PNC to handle this matter any longer and I need HELP!Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I would like a refund of the $30.00 credit on my account as well as an additional $30.00 to cover the overdraft fee that occurred because of PNC's negligence.

Review: PNC has changed its overdraft practices without notification or having proof of these practices. I have spoken with them on two difference occasions and have come to a halt with speaking with their rude and disrespectful agents that have no other way to fix the problem but blame the consumer. I have a $36 overdraft fee on my account due to PNC informing me of the negative balance at 3:06 am 12/15/2015 in the email says my account was overdrawn on 12/14/2015. 3 different agents have confirmed that their overdraft fee policy is that without overdraft protection a transaction will post at PNCs discretion to approve and the consumer has till 10:00pm Est to bring account current before fees are acccesed on the account. The last rep I spoke to on 11/28/2015 advised that PNC will post transactions from 10:00pm - 7:00am for prior day posting that could not be brought current by time fees were accessed and when advised that is malpractice and illegal based on PNCs overdraft policies does not give the consumer time to bring it current. He then reversed those two fees. But not I am back at that same malpractice and worse it advises on their website if you have a checking or savings it will be deducted from to fix overdraft. I have a statement savings account that I was able to bring the balance current with (see picture) and yet could not avoid fee.Desired Settlement: I want my $36 back in my account and I want PNC to fix their system I have been with them for 7 years now and I have never been so disgusted with their practices for getting money by malpractice and not following their own policies. I have every notification set up on my account : texts, emails, alerts and yet I don't get it till 24 hours later and the reasoning for keeping money in my saving was to avoid this yet again.

I opened an account with PNC Bank when I relocated here to [redacted]. My 1 st fraudulent activity (500.00) of my debit card use online was Dec. 2015. PNC alerted/contacted me, closed my debit card, issued me a new card and pin no.

Fast forward 3 mos.later, now. Same issue, $500.00 fraudulent use of not my new debit card, the old debit card that was being used fraudulently. PNC didn't close/cancel the old card.

PNC says it may take 90 days to dispute this and receive my $500 back. Also, I was told I can't close my account til this is resolved.

NOT, I'm closing my account and may report this to the media. Definitely contacting Corporate.

Wish me luck!

RED FLAGS: Inside bank job.

Review: On multiple occasions, PNC Bank has deceptively reordered transactions to charge multiple overdraft fees and also has charged overdraft fees to my account when the balance of the account did not go negative. Most recently I had an available balance of $153. I went to the ATM and took out $20 from the ATM and made sure to finish the transaction. I then started a new transaction at the ATM and deposited $600 in checks. $100 of the deposit becomes immediately available and the rest is available the following day. Later that same day a pending transaction occurs of $500. The following day, the funds from the checks are available and the $500 transaction is still pending. Regardless, they charged me two overdraft fees, first for the $20, and second for the $500 charge. Tomorrow, the $500 pending charge will post to the account and my account will never have been negative. The first overdraft should not have occurred because at the time that I took money from the ATM, I had available funds. The second charge should not have occurred because the bank does not have to release money for a pending transaction until the transaction posts. And when it posts there will be available funds in my account. In addition, there were more funds pending for deposit than withdraw. I am extremely upset because of their deceptive practices re-ordering transactions and removing money from my account for pending transactions. They are insured by the FDIC so the excuse they need to be sure they can pay a pending transaction is invalid from a cash flow perspective and further, they use my money to earn profit through investments when it is deposited into my account so for them to take money from me by re-ordering transactions is taking advantage of the customer. These are deceptive business practices and I am sure I am not the only customer to have these negative experiences with PNC Bank.Desired Settlement: They have taken over $400 in overdraft charges this year to date. This has put me in a state of unnecessary financial pressure. I will not be satisfied until my $400 is refunded to my account and my account closed so that I never have to do business with such a deceptive organization.

Response:

8-24-2014 No authorization on file. PNC responding directly to the customer. **

PNC Mortgage is continuing to try and collect payment on a second mortgage that was charged off through a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

After several calls into them and sending over my BK papers and a letter from my lawyer they still continue to send me bills on a monthly basis.

The account is reflecting on one of my credit reports as an open delinquent account.

I am looking into legal action for harassment an unfair debt collection violation.
