Sales rep from installation company (Power Home Technologies, ***, ***) lied about paperwork I was signing. (I have a witness).
I own a rental house. My new tenant (Aug 2016) wanted a security system for the house. He contacted Power Home Technologies of ***, *** to in stall the system. After the installation the sales rep realized that my tenant was not the owner of the house so he called me and said they had a problem. I needed to come over and sign a form giving them permission to in stall the system in my house that had already been installed. when I got there he handed me the paper and said it was to give them permission to install the system. I signed it and left. Now that my tenant is behind on his payments *** is harassing me and telling me the paper I signed was as a co-signer. They call me every day and threaten me with a collection agency. Now being a landlord why would I knowingly co-sign for a tenant when I am not sure if I might get my rent much less have to pay for his security system. I do not charge him extra rent for the system. The sales rep lied about the nature of the paper I signed. I ask him point blank when I signed it did it make me responsible for anything as for as billing and he said no. I never received a copy of the contract.
Have my name removed from contract as co-signer and stop harassing me.
Thank you for contacting PHT. We have spoken to above client and he did admit to signing the contract as a co-signer for the tenant to have services installed. Client was given paperwork to read and failed to read before signing. He says so himself that he was "co-signing" which means is he equally as responsible for payment default. We did advise above customer to file civil suit against tenant if he wishes, but above client's credit was used to open the account since he is the homeowner. The account has been turned over to a collection agency due to non payment. Please let us know if we can be of any other help.

as I stated earlier, I was called to my rental house after the security system us installed without my permission. The sales person told me I needed to sign a form to give them permission to install the system. You see he made a mistake by installing the system without my permission. To get around that mistake, he lied to me and my tenant about what I was signing. He thought my tenant owned the property until after he had installed the system. He knew I would never cosign for my tenant so he told me it was a permission form. I ask him would this form make me responsible for payments and he said no. Since he had called me over (a distance of 2 miles) and I was busy I drove over and in a hurry I did not read the form but trusted Power Home Technology's employee to be trustworthy. My mistake. Never again will I use Power Home Technology or recommend them to a friend or relative. My tenant will tell you he never intended for me to be his cosigner.
We do apologize for the confusion, however all clients are given an opportunity to read before they sign. The account will remain in collections. This is a civil matter between tenant and homeowner.
worked on our alarm system two different times. On each occasion he was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient. But most importantly he was super patient with two old geezers who are technophobic and downright dumb when it comes to technology. Now we feel comfortable and protected because of ***.
Power Home Technologies is a company that sells homeowners a security service. They are not the service providers. The company should be more forthcoming about that information. They use high pressure sales tactics, and research reveals that this company makes its money through high percentage commissions. At the time of purchase, the service sold to me registers so many errors that it is inoperable as a home security system. Since PHT just sold the service, they have no further liabilities regarding the service. They will gladly show you their A+ rating, but the company providing the upkeep and monitoring does not have such a rating. Look up the rating for the monitoring company as well. This fact was conveniently left out of the sales pitch.
Ran credit report without my authorization and a piece of equipment that was sitting by my front door for weeks suddenly disappeared the night after their (two salesmen, *** and ***), as though to make a point- that a security camera is needed.
