Very unhappy, unable to cancel reservations even moments after reservingCustomer service is just reading off a script over and over, unable to assist with anything, ALWAYS get insurance

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: It says nothing about "changing your room and or hotel for a more expensive one", which I was more than willing to do in working with them As I stated in my previous complaint against them, they were refused to work with me Nowhere in that document does it say you cannot upgrade at a fair and more expensive price I am an AARP member from a small town in Northern [redacted] I am afraid to drive in the Twin Cities and I surely do not want to go to a hotel and have to drive to the State Fair and have to find parking and drive back to the motel When I discovered that hotel, as I stated previously, it was on a web site listing hotels for the State Fair and I don't know if it was a priceline site or not Thank you for your assistance in this matter I am sure you have heard many a complaint against priceline by now! Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I never initialed a contract! This reservation was made over the phone I was told on the phone about the fee, but I thought it was a one time fee for both rooms the way it was explained to me The person I spoke with did not go into detail about this fee I never got a confirming email right away, and had to call to get one The confirming email does not detail this fee, it did not come up until I saw complaints about it on [redacted] web siteAll I'm asking for is a different Hotel without fees!! Honestly, I wasn't sure whether to file a complaint or put up a review I am very disappointed with my experience with Priceline I put in a "name your own price" bid for a hotel in [redacted] today for a star hotel I thought that I would give it one try and put in a price that I thought I would overjoyed to get for a star not really thinking that anything would come of it because all of the star hotels in central [redacted] are WAY more than I bid for I wanted something close to everything so picked central [redacted] from the map provided for my bid Imagine my surprise, when my bid was accepted for a star hotel!! Unfortunately, the hotel that I won the bid for was Not a five star hotel, based on reviews on Priceline's own website and Not in central [redacted] and the worst More expensive than booking directly on Priceline's own website! I believe the mix up on the rating is that the hotel ( [redacted] ***) used to be a [redacted] hotel which may have been considered a star back when they were in operation but now that they were sold to another company, it seems that the service has gone way downI called customer service and expressed my concerns and was told that I could not get a refund I explained concerns and disappointment multiple times and eventually asked for a manager or supervisor I was on hold quite a long time and was transferred to Alex I immediately asked if he was a supervisor or manager and was told no Alex basically told me the same information that the previous woman told me but when I brought up the fact that the hotel is even more than listed on Priceline's own website he volunteered doing a "price match" for me those that he didn't seem excited about doing it I explained about it not being a star even based on other Priceline customers reviews but was told that he was sure that I would not be disappointed I wonder if Priceline or their partner [redacted] even read the reviews Just because a hotel was once a star, it might be beneficial to read your own customers reviews and reevaluate! I asked to speak to a Supervisor again and was transferred after another long wait to a woman who claimed that she was I again explained my concerns but was given the same reasons for not being able to cancel I finally asked for the price match because she claimed that was all she could do She called the hotel in [redacted] to see if breakfast was included (I asked if the rate included breakfast) and I was told that the hotel said "no" She told me that I would get an email confirming my refund along with a coupon for my next reservation That's funny since as you can imagine, I will not be booking anything else with them ever againI feel sorry for the customer service people at Priceline because I'm sure they get a lot of unhappy customers I know that it's not their fault and I admit I was probably not the nicest person on the phone because I kept repeating myself and interrupting themI did pick the "name your own" price option that clearly states that the rates are non refundable however I do not feel as though Priceline gave me the product that I bid on I guess I'll have to chalk this up to a lesson learned and simply leave the hotel and go elsewhere if I don't feel I can deal with it Really disappointing as I may never make it back [redacted] and was really looking forward to enjoying my hotel stay as well as the cityYou got me PricelineYou got me (but never again)
