As close to criminal as a company can get. DO NOT sign anything with a Defender tech or rep. Get an itemized, written invoice to read over including the ADT/ Defender contract (hard copy). Have them come back another day if you still want their very expensive products. This is a 3 year contract and they will disappear afterwards. Be careful, the tech's get paid on commission and will pick your pocket. DO NOT sign a contract unless it is an itemized hard copy including all prices.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They never told me that when I moved houses and they set my stuff up again that my contract started over. They also do not honor what their employees tell you, and they give out false information. I was told by one employee that yes, I can cancel my contract with military orders. She even spoke with 2 other employees while I was ON the same line as her that said the exact same thing. I send them the military orders and followed up 2 weeks later. The person I got on the phone said no, I could not cancel them because I'm not being deployed only my husband is. The only thing they told me was that the girl that told me I could cancel my contract was "new". I do not think that is any excuse, I was also refused to be transferred when I asked to speak to someone else. I called ADT and filed a formal complaint about this company and hope that they do not continue using them as a contracted company.

Wish I could give negative review. The tech who came onSept. 1st one of our porcelain figurine (angel) andtold us the he would submit the picture to his company and they would compensate. We called and they said that we have to the pictures, we sent several pictures. We called again to check the status they said they don’t have the pictures and they are going to send their own tech to take the pictures. After couple of days their own employee came and took the picture. We waited nothing happened, we called again, they still say no pictures.
We explained the figurines were bought in Colorado and we moved to Massachusetts so we do not have the receipt and asked them to replace the figurine if they fon’t Want to pay what we paid for the angel. Now every time we call they hung up on us. Nothing has been done. VERY VERY BAD COMING ANY. Wish ADT will not get authorized dealers like this to spoil their reputation.

This company's trustworthiness is an absolute 0. While in the middle of inquiring about service and asking questions, the rep put his manager on the line (escalates the call for a better deal) the manager does a credit check w/o my permission, then lies and says it was a soft inquiry. Well, my credit score drops 6 pts. I called to complain, Shannon A fails to acknowledge the portion of the conversation whereas the rep lies about the inquiry that would not affect my credit. This was a costly lesson, that would not have happened with a reputable company . Stay Away!!!

On December 3rd, 2018 I had defenders come to my home to install a security system. Firstly, when I called to initiate an account setup and have a technician out to my home to install a security system, I specifically stated that I wanted cameras. When the technician was at my home, on December 3rd, going over the packages that ADT offers and we were discussing camera options. I was told that I was going to get three free cameras plus a couple of door sensors. No one bothered to tell me that the cameras require a wifi signal in the home. Once that was disclosed to me, I was offered three motion sensors in place of the cameras. It didn't dawn on me until after yhe tech had left that I was only given two motion sensors, not three, and two door sensors. Secondly, I was being charged almost the highest monthly rate, even though barely half of my home was technically "secured". I was told that it was because of the phone application access to control the security system. On December 5th, 2018, I faxed my "notice of cancellation" to the fax number provided on the form. I had a printed confirmation of the fax, but called on Monday the 7th of December to confirm from a live agent that the notice was received, it was received. I was told that it would take 72 hours to process the cancellation and I would receive a full refund as soon as a technician could come to my home and uninstall the equipment. Lastly, during the 72 hour period of cancellation, defenders charged my bank account for the first two months service, after they had received my cancellation notice. I waited for several days and they never called to schedule the appointment to uninstall the equipment. I was given multiple different excuses as to why the cancellation was being handled so poorly. I decided to contact my personal banking institution to file a claim and for the bank to settle the matter. My bank returned all of the funds charged to my account, plus any fees that were charged due to the overdraft. I was not notified that defenders were still going to charge my account after they received my cancellation. The following week, a technician called and scheduled an appointment to come and uninstall the equipment. Defenders removed the equipment from my home. I don't agree with the company charging my bank account before they got around to processing my cancellation. I believe that defenders should extend the period of time between installation and the first charge for monthly services to at least 12-15 days. This would give a long enough grace period to alleviate this type of debacle. Their practice of doing this is not fair in the slightest to their customers.

This has to be the worst company you could ever do business with. I called to set up service with ADT and had no clue that it was a third party company. I was informed that in order to set an appointment that I had to put a card on file for a $99.00 deposit, and that I wouldn’t be charged until my appointment. They even gave me a technicians name and ID number that would be doing my install. As soon as the call ended my card was charged $106, and my credit was ran. A few days later a tech pulled up in his personal car also not the technician I was told.... and said he would be installing my system. He immediately took my ADT system I already had down and stated it was out dated and had to be replaced. He tried up selling everything and when I declined he slapped a new panel, two smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide detector on the wall. He said he was done and asked for me to sign for the completion of the install. Once he was gone I received an email with a work order and contract that I did not sign, and it was completely different from what we discussed. Went to make sure my windows were locked and all my sensors were missing. Even the two I watched him install were gone, and the extra keychain remote I purchased was missing. I called him immediately and he said he was sorry and that he would come back to finish and never came back. I called customer service the same day and was offered to have someone else come out to install the sensors the next week. I called back because I never received a confirmation for my new appointment and was treated so badly that I cancelled. The senior manager came today to install the sensors and stated he new nothing about the cancellation. When I asked where my other equipment was he informed me that it was thrown away. He took a look at my system and was confused on where everything listed in my work order was and then told me that my motion detectors were not hooked up at all. He asked a few times if I would allow him to correct the issue at hand and I declined. He stated he didn’t know that to do about my missing equipment and informed me to call customer service. I called and was hung up on 6 times. The 7th call I was informed that she would have to connect me to the senior manager in my area because he would have to handle this issue. It was the same tech/manager that came to my home. The agent asked him what was going on and he brought her up to speed on everything. She stated she would file a claim with the loyalty team and they should reach out to me within 72 hours. Something didn’t sit right so I called back and was informed that no such thing was done and that I had to email someone about this issue. Also it can take 7 days to receive an email even addressing this. I have wasted hours of my life, was charged for two months of service, a deposit of $106 an extra equipment fee of $23 (which I never received). All I am asking for is to have my equipment that was removed from my home (that I paid for) replaced, refunded for all my charges and my account canceled.

STAY AWAY! Defenders is a scam, a big one!! DO NOT GIVE DEFENDERS YOUR CREDIT NUMBER!! They are not ADT and you will be sorry! My experience has been too stressful and horrible to share!!
Read the other reviews and be warned!

Defender is out of state company. Defender DBA Protect Your Home is licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Protect Your Home - Mr. A lied, mislead consumers, backdate contracts and made unauthorized charges to credit card. He is a slick use car sale man.

One of the biggest cheating company that I have ever seen. From day 1 they lie and they trick you in such a way so that you will get into contract with them. Please don't sign on iPad without reading and seeing price on the contract. I would suggest you not to take ADT Defenders service as you need to go through a lot. All service technicians and their managers are together and they don't care about the customer.

I would give this company a zero if it were possible. I had an appointment with a rep, canceled yet the day before, was told my card would not be charged the $108 but it was anyway. The company would not take it off in a timely manner. I had my credit card company Credit my card $108. This company called me a half dozen times to tell me I owed them $108. Company finally credited my account six weeks later but by that time my credit card company had already credited me. I had my credit card company add $108 back and these people are now calling me to say that I owe them $108. Do not do business with the vendor. I feel like I am being scammed by a company that is supposed to be protecting you. It is Bewildering to me how a company can have an A+ with the Revdex.com and a 2 1/2 customer satisfaction in there review section

These people are impossible to deal with. They took $1,600 up front to do installation and 9 months later still not active. The biggest problem is that you can't get a hold of them. Call their number and you actually get ADT; you can't call them directly. When you do manage to get someone from Defenders their notes seem to be missing or incomplete so they have no idea what is going on. They always make excuses as to why the system hasn't been installed and have never followed up on commitments.

I would never use these people again.

If I could give negative stars then that what this company deserves. They are big time scammers. I was promised $27.99 service. My bill comes for $52.99. And no contract was provided to me. I was not told that I had 3 days to cancel this service. When I calledcto cancel the service after my 1st bill they are charging me $1400 to cancel the service. They keep me on hold for 2 hours. They are *** up company. Save yourself the headache and save your money and take your business elsewhere.

Defenders is a company that's out to scam you. I'm unhappy with your shady sales tactics. Your salesperson/technician, told me I had 6 months of free trial and if I wanted to cancel I would get all my money back including installation with no strings attached. When it was time to sign papers I saw the "3 day cancellation" so I was reluctant to sign. He assured me that was only one way to cancel to get my money back quicker, but I will still be able to get a full cancellation before 6 months. He also told me to to do him a favor and wait 2 weeks before I call to request any additional sensors for free, because that's what his other customers did. Well we waited for 2 weeks to call, and when we couldn't get more sensors for free we wanted to cancel and guess what, we can't cancel anymore and we're locked in to the 2 yr contract. Shady business DEFENDERS d/b/a Protect Your Home, you should be ashamed of yourself. Just close down your business already.

Plus the $100 VISA gift card process is bad. We didn't know we had to send in an application within 60 days of install and also there's a $4.95 S&H fee only accepted with cashier's check or money order.

Your customer care email doesn't work. It sends back "This mail box is not in service" email.
Your customer care phone number does nothing but forward me to ADT. I want to talk to the scam artists that work at Defenders (Protect Your Home).

Please do not ignore the warnings!!!!! This company is the absolute worst. RUNNNN while you can. I agree with every ONE STAR and TWO STAR review. I really want to just copy and paste each review to mine. ADT should not be in business with Defenders, Inc. or any other company for that matter if this is how they allow their business to be represented. This company is an EPIC FAIL!!!!!!

False information to lure customers. I was told my the agent I was going to pay a certain fee per month and it was false. I was also told I was getting a certain product and it was also false. I found out about the REAL monthly price when my credit card was charged. I found out I wasn't getting that camera door bell at installation. The agent gave me false information to get the sale and now if I want to cancel, I have yo pay 75% of the contract, which I was told it was not a contract. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was denied a supervisor.

Run seems to be what every one is saying and that is very true. I called ADT and somehow I ended up with Defender at my door the "authorized dealer. It has not been a good experience at all as dealing with their equipment, their customer service and the back and forth between Defender and ADT once they sold my contract to them to prevent having to fix their mess. When setting up everything, I was told the current equipment would be replaced and I would have a $850 credit to get some new things such as camera and keypad on the door and sensors; when the tech arrived, it was a totally different story. The initial amount the tech started out with was close to 5k in equipment and after negotiation, it ended up being $1700 in equipment. A week after install I had problems with connection and it was blamed on my internet which I knew wasn't the case because I had the best plan available. They ended up having to come out again after more problems and the second time the tech forgot to go in test mode causing the alarm to go off and the cops to come out. I was advised that if they had to come out a second time, they would cancel the contract and I would get my money back. When it came time to call the third time, I was transferred to ADT and they advised me my account was sold to them so they would be coming out. The tech came out and advised me that the equipment installed was not working well in my home so they had to take some equipment out and it was useless once they installed the oldest panel known to man. I was thinking that all was well now until last week when I got delinquency/final notice in the mail but how if my account was bought out by ADT? Defender sent me a letter stating I owe for the last payment in which I did not let get drafted because the equipment was not working and we were going in circles with no resolution. I called the number stated on the letter to see if we could come to some kind of resolution since half the equipment was no longer in my house I spoke with one representative who stated she could not help me since the contract was bought out so she transferred me to someone in billing who became very rude and told me I needed to speak to someone in the collection department. At first she stated she was going to transfer me but then she talked to them and came back on the lone stating that they said they would not talk to me because there was no need and she was not going to transfer me but I could hang up and call back on my own. I signed up at the end of April 2018 and she advised me my contract was sold 5/1/18?? How is that when they came out to my home twice in attempt to repair the poor connection. She repeatedly tried to get off the phone with me stating there was nothing else she could help me with and I am not listening to her not so I need to just hang up, she could not transfer me to anyone else and she did not have a manger over her. Now I am back and forth with them and ADT and I am not a happy customer now stuck in a 3 year contract. You have been warned check Revdex.com and google reviews, I am not sure why they are still in business better yet ripping people off is their business.

Misrepresentation: I had no indication I was in a contract with “Defenders” they pass themselves off as ADT and when you call ADT for help, they pass you off to Defenders.

Terrible Service. Alarm beeps repeatedly every 15 minutes starting about 1am. Called several times and was told to break open the box and disconnect the battery. This happened for several days over a week. I called to cancel within the contract. They said to give them one more chance to fix it and sent a technician came out to fix it. This didn’t fix it. I called to cancel after it didn’t fix it and they said I was over the 30 day period because I gave them a second chance!

I called back again, and they said that the 30 day clause doesn’t exist that is on page 5, section 2 of my contact.

Now they said they have to send someone out 3 times for technical issues before I can cancel with no fee because of issues. – meanwhile I can’t get any sleep and the alarm is not monitored because the battery has to be unplugged.

I had the worst experience dealing with this company. I signed up with an authorized dealer for ADT home security system. After approximately 1 month, I received a letter from Defenders that they were taking over the billing from ADT because tAD didn't want our small contract. I had no idea that was even possible. I did my do diligence and went on *** to see what their reviews were. Needless to say I was horrified by what their customers wrote. I called to let them I did not want them doing my billing. They directed me to ADT and ADT sent me back to Defenders. Nowhere in my contract does it state that this could happen. I spoke to ADT corporate and was given back to Defenders. As it turned out I was treated horribly. I was not billed again. hey never charged me and took my alarm offline from ADT, Yet two months later I received a collection letter from Defenders through their attorney even though they cancelled my alarm two months prior. Please do your homework on this company before you make a decision going forward. Read their abysmal customer reviews.

If I could give them no stars I absolutely would they're the laziest most difficult customer service ADT should be ashamed to have the binder of business with such a disgrace to the ADT corporation name..make defenders a department renamed to sound like they are like "worthless" #nevergettinganotherdimeofmymoney...

Absolutely horrible company!! LESS THAN ONE STAR! I bought the system under the understanding that they had outdoor cameras in the San Diego Area. The technician shows up with no outdoor cameras. He says they don't have any. Then he calls and all of the sudden they do. He only installs door sensors and a doorbell. The doorbell NEVER works from the time he puts it in. He tells me he will get it working when he comes back to put in the cameras. The three days to cancel and get money back comes up. I call and he said that he assures me he will be there to put everything in. Never shows up. I call the HQ and tell them I want to cancel and they tell me I'm out of the cancellation time and I must pay 75% of my remaining contract amount. LIVID I call demanding to talk to a manager 3 separate times. A different excuse why I can't each time and I am promised that a manager will call me back. Finally I call and speak to the manager. She is very nice and listens to the story and agrees that the company is in the wrong and will refund me all of the money and cancel the contract. She says that she is cancelling the account while we are on the phone and she will send me an email verification that all is cancelled and my refunds are in process. Needless to say, I never receive the email. I call back 3 more times and find out that the account is still active and never cancelled. I have them coming out to remove the system next week. Not sure what will come after that. Just remember that every time you call in that the phone calls are recorded. I plan on taking them to court. DO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
