This company did a credit inquiry on me without my permission. Everytime I would call to get the situation resolved I would get the run around. In the middle of our conversation, each time I called, they would still try to push their products and services to me. When I finally talk to a manager, he did not want to get the credit inquiry removed because I didn't want to do business with the company. If I could leave no stars I would. Very aggressive and deceptive company. BEWARE!

Had a horrible experience with this company, would not recommend to anybody. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PRODUCTS OR SUBMIT ANY FINANCIAL INFORMATION TO THESE SHARKS! ***, the installer, was the only reasonable human being I interacted with. Wish I would have read these reviews before doing business with this company.

Refused to transfer service to new house, charged an installation fee, gaslighted us by telling us they refunded it, refused to install, and then after submitting a record of the electric service for our new house, they decided it wasn't good enough? To establish residency, even though we're clearly paying electricity for this house. This company is committing fraud.

Sold on a bunch of lies in writing.
How bad is it that the security manager sends me an email that I never received so I had the representative get it in writing and send me a screenshot of the manager saying I had 6 months to cancel my ADT/Defenders (Protect Your Home) with a money back guarantee if I am not satisfied. Well I’m not satisfied. After a rude non-customer service focused conversation, I was left with nothing but irritation. I told the rep, “had you just simply said I’m sorry if the communication wasn’t clear, I would have handled it better” but she just says “it’s your word against his” when I have his word in writing.

Put us into collections based on their internal error. Called to get info and was treated like an absolute criminal and was told verbally several times that we were worthless people who expected a service for nothing and white trash yeah they said that, with a credit score over 800 I have a record of paying my bills. When after MULTIPLE calls they looked at the account we received a simple oops our bad, now I’m left with a scar on my credit. Simply the worst company I have ever delt with. Have had issues with system since installation and every communication with their customer service group has been negative. Never, never, never do business with this company!

Defended illegally accessed my credit report using my personal information, which lead to a lowered credit score. The credit check was not disclosed to me, nor were they given my permission to access those records.
I have called them once a week regarding this and they have promised to contact with me a resolution with In 72 hours, 4 times, once a week for the past month, with no contact or resolution offered. They also state there is no way to connect me to the people who can correct this issue, that will call me, but of course have failed to follow through with their promises.
This company has commuted a crime, acknowledges they have committed a crime, yet refuses to reach me to find a resolution.

If I could give less than one star, I would give them negative five star. DO NOT USE DEFENDERS. It's a scam! I bought the new house and called them to sign up for their $19.99/month promotion package since July of the last year. The technician asked me sign some electronic form in the ipad before he installed the equipment. Later on the technician used my signature I signed earlier to sign a $48/month contract for me without letting me know. I called them to cancel after I found it out and sent out the cancellation form as well. They disconnected the service. But they kept charging me. I called them many times and two months later, they told me that my monthly fee would be $53 with no service provided. In February of this year, they send the bill to a one star collection company in TEXAS! to collect $1431. That means they charged me $1431 for 6 months, which is about $250 per month. It's really a scam company.

They are the biggest dealer for ADT in USA. More than 85% of ADT Home business is Defenders.

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TERRIBLE BUSINESS, THEY ARE SCAMMERS, UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISHONEST! If this rating system allowed for a negative star rating, this company would receive five negative stars! WARNING...DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DEFENDERS, INC dba PROTECT YOUR HOME! I wish we had did more research before ultimately doing business with this company who we thought was going to be professional since they represent ADT! Shame on ADT for associating their reputation with this terrible company had a contract states 6 months to cancel with full refund if not satisfied and they are telling me no there are three days and that’s that they were rude condescending and told me I have to pay 75 percent of the contract to cancel but from what I understand when I signed up it was not a lease but since I signed up under a military offer I was shielded from the 3 year plan. Then they kept telling me I owed extra money for the equipment when it was verified previously that I didn’t.

Defenders is a joke including the "manager" I supposedly had spoken to. They sold me their ADT pulse package including all the devices for "free" and "store credit". On the contract they promised they would install the devices including a camera and specifically asked them if there were any fees I needed to pay, they said no. I repeatedly asked them about it and they kept saying no. But when they were about to install them cameras that were included in the package they sold me, they tried to tack on another 399 fee. Absolute SCAM. Since it's California, they can only lock you down for 2 years and if you try to get out of the contract THEY BROKE by not installing all the devices, you have to pay 75% of the whole term agreement. They need to be sued again for bad business tactics.

We recently purchased a home that came with an ADT system installed. We delayed in activating the system because we were not sure if we needed it. A week later, a major fire broke out at our neighbors home and, that same morning, we decided to activate the system. We called a company that made it seem that they were ADT (as in corporate ADT), when in fact they were a local ADT “dealer” we now know as DEFENDERS. They couldn’t even verify the system we currently had in place but passed it off that the technician would be able to verify for them. At the time we were so shaken up from the fire that we didn’t even catch that this was suspicious. We scheduled a technician to come out and reactivate our system.
Two days later, the technician calls and asks to send pictures to him of the system we had installed. He immediately cancels the appointment and notifies us that our system is through corporate ADT and we need to go through them. We call the number of the company that originally scheduled the appointment and ask for a refund of the $100 that we paid for the service. We are then given a complete runaround and put on hold for an hour at a time! (We kept calling back and asking for different managers because we were sick of waiting). Finally we gave up and called our credit card company to dispute the charge. I called back again, posing as a new interested customer, to figure out what their business model is, how the technicians are assigned, how they are affiliated with ADT and if they have local offices. The person answering the call immediately started avoiding answering the questions and kept asking for my address. After a few rounds of this she got extremely rude and said “I need to know how I can help you” and I kept repeating that she could help me by explaining how their office works. She then said, well I see you are calling from Washington, which is strange because I do not have a Washington phone number. Further questioning on my part made me realize that she knew exactly who I was and that I was affiliated with my husbands phone number and what my address was, even though they never had my number.
Our concern now lies with the fact that this company has our complete security system suite, the last four of my social, my address, my credit card information, etc. and their conversations lead me to believe that they have a lot more amplifying information on us. DEFENDERS is essentially a call center in the middle of Indiana posing as ADT. Their business practices are extremely concerning not to mention their atrocious customer service. This business needs to be formally investigated by both ADT and the Revdex.com to ensure the security of customers wanting ADT services.

This is a scam I called adt did contract thinking it was adt just to find out when I have a past due bill even though I’m on automatic payment that there is a third party called defenders and everything has to go through defenders asked adt for copy of contract no they don’t see it have to call defenders. I have only had adt (defenders) for a month and have had several issues with billing and getting hold of anyone please how can I get out of this contract that I have never seen? Please Help we the people need to be more protected from these scamming company’s they deserve no stars but unfortunately can’t leave comment with out a star. ADT Needs to take blame on this as well by allowing this so called company defenders to do this to customers.

STAY AWAY.. After wasting 4 hours of my Saturday to install a basic ADT package, they did nothing but tear up my drywall and incomplete the service. Now they are making us request 3 quotes to repair the drywall.

One star is too generous. I have had nothing but issues with this company that is a TOTAL SCAM.
I have NO IDEA how I even ended up with this organization because I called ADT directly. Their service is NON -EXISISTENT. I end up either being hung up on, or transferred to so many people and then placed on hold for an hour. These is put a motion detector in a room where I have cat condos. So needless to say it was going off constantyl! I am outraged that I have to deal with this aggravating situation for 3 years. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM GET A LAWYER

SCAMMERS, SCAMMERS, SCAMMER, I feel bad for their customer service rep. They put me in a NEW 3 year contract, without acknowledging it.
Called ADT to transfer my service and I asked ADT how much time I had let. Response "15 Months". "Great" I thought as I was moving into an apartment with a 12-month lease. I said, "self, you'll have this contract and be responsible for only 3 months without residence, that's okay self!"
Turns out, the technician who was good by the way failed to mention the renewal of the contract. After ADT CLOSED ME OUT, they charged me over $1,000 inadvertently right before school. 4 kids, school clothes and bills money GONE!
Because of these issues, ADT requested that I reach out to Defenders for a contract reevaluation and reduction. There customer services people gave me the scripted answer "I'm sorry sir, you are in Arizona and our standard contract is 3 years!" Okay, can you ask a manager? (places me on hold). Comes back "I'm sorry sir our manager said in Arizona our standard contract is 3 years!" -Great
I then asked "Can you connect me with a manager that I may speak with them? I would like to explain my situation to them, talk about the over 2.5 hours I spent with the representative last Friday, July 12th, with another representative, when I discovered these financial issues!" (places me on hold again)
Comes back. "Sir I'm sorry, the manager won't speak with you?".
I'm confused. I posed "I have and issue which requires elevated employees of DEFENDERS and the answer is they WON'T Speak with me. "Is this accurate?" She Said Yes, they refuse to speak with you.
Again I just want to make sure before I write my Yelp and Revdex.com, that I have an issue, misrepresentation, missing money (mostly rectified) but I need some additional assistance from some high on the corporate organization ladder, and they are refusing me". She said, "Yes- they won't talk to you!"

If I could give a minus review, I would. Bait and switch is illegal in the United States, and that is what they are doing to me. I found an add in a mail flyer that advertised a monthly monitoring rate of $27.99 per month; and that and only that is what I desired. I spoke to Logan first. I was not quite ready to commit, and he put on T, ID #*** who began offering me "free money" so to speak ($2,339.00) to spend however I wanted, to include using it for cameras, since I already had a main monitoring cellular alarm system in place. I was told I could get an app and I would be monitoring the camera portion myself and it would not affect my monthly bill. Fine, sounds good. I paid $99 which came out to $107.99 and my status was pending as I needed internet to be able to hook up my cameras. Today I called and spoke to someone and told him I had already paid, and needed to schedule the install. I asked, "So how much is my monthly bill going to be?" His reply ... over $50.00 a month!!!
I already have an alarm system at my property, a key pad, all of my windows have sensors, so I wanted to use the credit T gave me toward a second keypad and cameras which she told me I could. Sadly, I have spoken to a number of people today to include three men, a Sheila, a Tierra, ect, and they all are pulling "bait and switch" on me. I have asked to speak back to Tierra directly who sold me the monthly package, the original person I worked with, and they refuse to let me speak to her. Soooooooo fishy, poor tactics, and illegal. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Revdex.com in Indiana.

I agree with all the ppl on here and they won't get back to me about me cancelling within 3 days and I want this finished and my money back. They keep transferring me from one to another and then hangs up and this goes on everyday that I call. I am done with their dishonest, lying, fraudulent company! I will continue to complain until something is done!

We had ADT install their security system in our home on May 2, 2019 and have nothing good since, we have had billing issues beginning over charged first month and then it took over three weeks for a refund and then our account was debited twice on July 1st and had to handled by calling my bank to return the over charge! We have spent many hours on the phone with ADT holding and the being transferred and holding again forever and never getting any results and were told it's your problem so handle it, when we finally sent a letter to Defenders, Inc dba Protect Your Home requesting that they remove the system as we are senior citizens on fixed incomes, they were most unhelpful and told us Billing errors was not their problem and again no results. We are at a loss that a company that sells you bill of goods about how they are the greatest of all security systems to us is very deceptive. We would not recommend this company to anyone and since Defenders tells us we are stuck with their contract or suffer the financial consequences will look for a more reputable company in the futrue.

They are a high sales pressure and over priced company. They scammed me into signing a sales agreement with them by acting falsely as ADT. They came to the house wearing ADT uniforms and did a high pressure sales pitch. I was told I had 30 days to cancel and when I call in to cancel they said it was only 3 days. Who makes you sign a 3 year contract and only gives you 3 days to cancel.
Very unhappy with them and am looking at my legal options to get out of this contract.
