Quality 1st Basement Systems Reviews (%countItem)

We hired them and signed up in May 2019 with a good talker sales person. Said our backyard will get a retaining wall and even out the entire backyard.
They finally came in July to work and they realized that the retaining wall with poly foam will not work and the poly foam will not work in the main area of the job. They changed the job to a retaining wall with concrete and new concrete in the main area and were supposed to level the rest.
The retaining wall was not a good retaining wall. On one side of the wall is only about a inch or two at most below the sidewalk. On the other side is only 20 inch max. When I said how is this going to be a retaining wall I wasn’t givena answer.
The side of the house was never done. When contacting the office nothing really happened. When the back who financed it finally got a hold of them after 3 months or so it was just our word agonist there’s. Not friendly. Not customer service. Mind you I needed to call them I would say about 50 times to finally get them to come out and do the work.
They even told us that we need to sign with the finance company that the with was done before they came out or else they won’t come. I’m looking to get half my chargers back from them.

Thank you for the feedback. We have made arrangements to meet with the homeowner tomorrow at 11am at their home review the work. WE will update after our meeting. I am hopeful we will find resolution.

Thank you

Bob C

I purchased a new sump pump for $350 in November of 2018 *** was encouraged to take an additional 2-year extended warranty for an additional $100 which I took. This past Friday night the pump was malfunctioning *** I called for emergency service on Saturday *** no one ever returned my call. I called this morning they sent someone over replace the pump which was still under an additional four year warranty with a br*** new pump that said on the box 3 year warranty. then the tech told me this new pump was not covered *** if it should break in the future they will not replace it. I asked him what happened to my hundred dollars that I paid an extra two years for that should have been to the year 2023. when I call the office asking about that they told me they could not give me my money back. I still had two years left on the original warranty plus my extra two years that I paid $100 for that is null *** void according to Colin at quality first basements.

Thank you for reaching out. I apologize for the confusion on your warranty. We will reach out *** correct this with you. Again we apologize for our confusion in going over the warranty. Your extended warranty will be added to the new pump you just received.

I spent a small fortune with Quality 1st when I bought my current home. I hired them to waterproof my crawl space. About three years later, my neighbor noticed that water was flowing from my property onto his. The waterproofing had been done incompetently, and the water was sent in the wrong direction toward my neighbor instead of out (per code) toward the street. They came out to fix it, but apparently they didn't fully check it and so did not repair the issue correctly or fully. I just sold my home, all packed and ready to move, thinking everything was fine. The buyer's home inspector discovered my "waterproofed" basement was wet and FILLED with mold, and all of the rafters had rotted. This was because Quality 1st did an incompetent job (according to everyone so far who has come to assess it). The water that was going to my neighbor's property was apparently recirculating right back into my crawl space. I lost the sale of my home, and it's a huge mess. Now they will not pay to fix this mess. Now I have to get an attorney. BEWARE!

Hi, We are glad that we were able to come out and meet with you in person to discuss the matter of your job and work together to come to a resolution.

I had a water intrusion problem in one area of the basement and had some estimates to fix the situation. Then Paul from Quality 1st came and expanded on the work needed to take care of the whole basement and at only an add'l cost that was very reasonable based on the new scope of work. Then Juan came with his crew and set to work at 8AM and by 4PM the whole job was done. I was impressed with how much they had accomplished in the time spent. The workmanship was first class and the area was cleaner then when they started. A job well done.

Joe the estimator was helpful in coordinating between the installation crew and my plumber before the work was started. Wilbur and team had the work done in a timely manner. Looks really nice and the sump pump tested very well.

Victor and his crew were amazing. Did a wonderful job waterproofing my basement. Will be call them in the spring to install a dehumidifier. Will recommend QuLity 1st to all my family and friends

Everything so far has been very positive. Juan started by taking us through what was going to be done. He and his crew and then got to work . They were apparently very efficient finishing their work several hours before I expected them to . One then explained everything that has been done and everything that was left for us to do . I'm reserving my final star for after I get it hooked up to my sewer system and running . I'm expecting nothing but good things

I used the company previously with good results. Recently had additional work done. I was discouraged that appointment was delayed and then resceduled. However, the crew did show up on the third rescheduled date. By then the scheduling department went into high gear to accommodate a priority date and reduced the cost of my overall invoice to compensate for the inconvenience caused to me by not getting the job done when originally promised. I felt the resolution was fair. The crew worked hard to get the job done in tight, and a less than pleasant environment. Time will tell if the work will stop the water from infiltrating the basement.

Esau Aquino & his crew were very professional, he called me 30 minutes prior to arriving and once they got to my house, he took the time to go over the project in detail and took the time to answer all my questions. They were extremely careful about how the approached the project and were very clean. I was satisfied with the quality of the job and happy about the results. Thank you, guys!

I needed sections of my sinking sidewalk leveled. Nick and Sherman did a great job and were meticulous and professional. Nick explained to me what they were going to do. I asked him a few questions about the process and he explained them to me in details. Totally satisfied and would hire the company again.

Esau *** & his crew did an amazing job from beginning to end with the job of waterproofing my basement. Throughout the process they asked if we had any questions of concerns and kept it as clean as possible. They explained all of the equipment that was installed and the follow up procedure to ensure that it works properly. Very happy with the team and quality first thus far.

Mario and his staff did a french drain in my basement. Mario walked me around the work area and showed me what was going to happen and how the system would work. His crew covered up things in the basement to prevent them getting dirty and went to work. After the job was completed Mario again walked me around and explained what they had done. A great, clean job was done by all.

I made a request with Kyle the field supervisor to send Juan and his crew to do work at my basement again after observing how professional they were the first time. I am satisfied with their performance and installation of the sump pump and water guard I recommended Quality first basements to my neighbor and he is also highly satisfied by the work done. Kudos to kyle, juan and his crew.

We decided a dehumidifier was needed in our basement. We did our research and concluded that something more than a store bought product was required. So we investigated companies that specialize in basement moisture problems, this led us to Quality 1st Basements. We made an appointment; in a few days we were sitting with Kenny *** discussing our options. What we quickly found was that Kenny is an expert in all phases of basement moisture, waterproofing and finishing. We chose the SaniDry XP Basement Air System, six SunHouse Basement Window Enclosures, and the CleanSpace Wall System for the basement walls. The next step, a date and time for the work to begin. When that date came, Mario *** and his crew arrived right on time. But wait, it gets even better. I thought a job like this would take days to finish. So much to install, outside excavation to remove the old windows and install the new ones. Nay, nay by 5 pm the installation work was complete. Clean up was next. Why was the work done by 5 pm?? It's because Mario and his crew knew exactly what needed to be done; they worked hard, they're professionals. Clearly they take pride in their work. There was a lot of soil left over after back- filling the enclosures, would it be left up to me to get rid of it, HOW? They took it all with them, putting it in 5 gal. containers and then loading it on their truck. Throughout, Mario briefed us on the crews progress, he answered my questions, showed different aspects of the job how it would be done, or would be done, and doing it gladly. It was about 8:30 pm when we said our good-byes, they pulled away driving away into the sunset. So, I've dealt with several Quality 1st members. Including Nicole ***, Kenny ***, and lastly Mario *** and his crew. What a pleasure dealing with a group of dedicated people that work together.

Our initial on site contact was Kenny *** We told Ken our interest was having a dehumidifier installed. After examining our basement he explained exactly what was needed.

True professionals, a great customer experience from scheduling of appointments, to the sales process, to installation and inspection. I highly recommend Quality 1st Basements.

We are so happy you had a great experience with Quality 1st and our team. Thank you for choosing us to provide you with a solution. If you ever need us in the future please don't hesitate to give us a call.

Excellent workers. Very polite work done in two days instead of three. Would highly recommend.

Wilver and his crew were very professional ,friendly and efficient. Wilver is one of the nicest people that ever worked in my house. They were very considerate, even asking if it was okay to park the truck in my driveway. I would definitely recommend them.

On January 17, 2019 we contracted Quality 1st to waterproof our basement for $11,003.05. The sale price included parts and labor even though we weren't in need of a new sump pump (it was conveyed that without it they wouldn't warranty the system). Three days after the 'completed' installation on January 20, 2019 we began to get water in our basement and this has continued ever since in all areas of the basement to this day. We have documented the occurrences with photos and shared them with Quality 1st on multiple occasions without a remedy to the situation or any suggestion of a refund. We were better off before we went down this road with Quality 1st, as our basement water problems are worse than before their installation.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a detailed message. We at Quality 1st certainly want to see our customers satisfied with the work done and strive to do so as best we can.

I have spoken with our team and reviewed the files I have on hand in regards to this project. Quality 1st worked at the mentioned resident on January 17 and 18 2019. The scope of our work was to install a sub floor drainage system along with a sump pump to protect from ground water penetrating into the basement thru the floor wall joint. See attached proposals. The work was done in two proposals because the original plan was only to do part of the basement and then the customer decided to do the rest of the basement and we were able to coordinate the installation for the two days in January to do the entire project. The purpose of the installed system was to protect against ground water penetrating thru the floor wall joints.

We had a field supervisor visit the home in late january and then also a Service technician visit in March. When the service technician visited the home in March his notes from our database reads as this.
Thu Mar 21, 20193:48 PMS1***Service Appointment ResultReactive complete. Upon arrival h.o explained why he wasnt happy. apparently still getting water. It was pretty evident that the windows leaked so I flood tested outside the window well and by the time I got to the basement, there was already a whole lot of water on the floor. Explained to him what had to be done and he was under the impression we would do it at no charge. Told him that this issue has nothing to do with the systems thats been installed and he kind of flipped out asking for a refund or atleast half. Kyle and collin to go back out and talk to h.o. NO FEE for visit

After this visit our field supervisor, Service Dept. manager and the original sales rep visited the homeowner and talked to them about what was going on and how to remedy the problem. We wrote them a proposal for the work that was needed to repair the leaking windows. Weeks went by and we did not hear from the customers. After this message we even offered to do a small verision of the repair under the window for free and it was refused.

I have included two copies of the agreements and each has a warranty page where it stats we warrant water from the floor wall joint and it also stats it does not warranty leaky window wells. However, in an effort to help we will address the immediate leak around the windows with our wall system.

We would like to come to a resolution and we are happy to address the immediate concerning area as we stated. Please feel free to call with any questions.

Thank you

Bob C

Complaint: ***

We are rejecting this response because: Mr. C and his team are being disingenuous. At no time was there an offer to partially remedy the situation for the windows at a lesser or no cost. And we continue to keep periodic contact with the business owner's daughter Brianne R and the sales rep Jay H through phone calls and emails (all of which can be verified from email server logs and phone records) letting them know of the persistent water problems we continue to experience in our basement. Most importantly from the onset we leaned on Quality 1st's supposed 'expertise' to find a solution for the water in our basement. Instead of doing their due diligence and examining root cause, they sold us a solution that we never needed (and replaced a sump pump that was already in good working order). It wasn't until we brought to their attention to consider the windows as an entry point for rainwater that a light bulb went off for their team. It was then Quality 1st sent us a final proposal for $3,900 to address the windows. Are we supposed to continue to throw good money after bad and trust that they now have it right and can ultimately solve the issue at hand?We have since filed a Special Civil Suit with the *** Courthouse as this is beyond small claims court at an $11k price tag. This is really too bad and frankly terribly upsetting.

Wilber’s team presented themselves with a professional demeanor. They expedited the work, but during the process they still took time to explain to me exactly what they were doing step by step. At the end of the project they left my property in an immaculate state yes they did housekeeping. I am totally satisfied with the work quality and was impressed by the professionalism of the staff. I feel confident with the waterproofing product awaiting the next rain storm lol.
