I think your franchise is responsible
and if you think your insurance should carry on; then they need to step up and finish the issueIt has been almost months and it took me several calls to push the issueIt was almost three months before Hartford even tried to make their first decision and now I feel your company should push the issue or resolve my complaint.

Quality Home Improvements was hired to start a job at our house on Oct**, The work to be done was threefold...one job completed led to the next jobThe first part of the work, a stucco job was done with a lack of consistencyThe next phase was to demolish and erect a retaining wall by a garage drivewayAfter weeks of excuses and many delays, the demolition work was done and some debris was carted and the rest was left aloneNo one came to finish the clean up, the wall was never erected and the final phase of the job, a fence to run around the perimeter of the property was never doneWith a decent down payment given to the contractor on Sept**, 2014, we thought that he would make more frequent contact to remedy the situationPhone calls were left unanswered, meetings were rescheduled multiple times and in essence the job was never completedWe tried going to the address on the contract form but never was able to see the contractor...was told he doesn't live there anymore
It is now June 2015, two letters were sent out to this company and were just returned....they were unclaimedThere is no satisfaction with this companyThey are totally unprofessional and can not even admit the error of their ways
We have since hired another contractor to finish the job this company was supposed to completeI will never recommend this company to anyoneThey have no idea as to the way they should treat their clients
The word Quality is very misleading.....no quality here.....they give contractors a bad nameWe were abandoned...do not be lured in by this very unprofessional company

I am responding to Miss [redacted] complaint.  The vinyl siding is installed correctly if not it would have started leaking before 2 years.  I had nothing to do with the leak. The roof is old and needs to be replaced she has already been told that it might last a year.  As far as fan fold it was never shipped to her house and she was never charged for it.  She and her dad cut a cat door in not long after I FINISHED UP.  THEY SHOULD'VE KNOW THEN THERE WERE NO FAN FOLD THEN.  SHE IS TAKING ME TO COURT NOW.  SO I WILL SEE MISS [redacted] IN COURT.  THE ONLY THING MISS [redacted] HAS IS A INVOICE.  THAT IS NOT A CONTRACTOR BUT STATES MY WORK IS A GUARANTEED FOR 1 YEAR NOT 2 YEARS.  THANK YOU DANIEL kNAPP

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In his response Daniel Knapp stated that he charged me for something he never installed on my house (fan-fold insulation) and he would return the money for the fan-fold.  I also have a receipt and credit card statement for the fanfold insulation that he never installed.  I also have the receipt/job invoice on Mr. Knapps letterhead and his name signed stating he charged me for Fan-fold insulation.  We've pulled siding up, there is no fan-fold insulation on my house. When asked where it was he said, "I don't know, probably on another job."  Does he think this is an acceptable answer?  How would he like to pay for something that went on someone else house?  Mr. Knapp was incorrect in saying I was told I need a new roof.  I had four contractors tell me I did NOT need a new roof and that instead, the siding Mr. Knapp installed was installed incorrectly.  I will be filing charges against Mr. Knapp for charging me for something he never installed.  Charging someone for something never installed is the same as stealing from them.  He did offer to return the money for the fan-fold, but that will not pay the bill I will have when another contractor has to remove the siding, put the fan-fold insulation on and put the siding back up.  It was not Mr. Knapp's place to make the decision to put the fan-fold up or not put the fan-fold up and it was definitely not okay to charge me for it and keep my money for two years for something he never installed.  Mr. Knapp also covered drain holes with the siding he installed.  The contractors I had look at the leak let me know that there is nowhere for that water to go but back inside my house.  The contractors I had look at the problem also said rain water is getting trapped between the vinyl siding and wood siding because Mr. Knapp installed the siding wrong.  When Mr. Knapp saw what I'm talking about he agreed that it was installed incorrectly.  When I met with Mr. Knapp a few weeks ago he let me know that he was not the one who did the work.  He sub-contracted the job out. He said that he had three other jobs to work on.  Okay, but I had paid him in advance to do this job.  This is the house I am living in.  This is the house I needed fixed. This is the house I paid Mr. Knapp to fix.  I should not have to pay more because Mr. Knapp was overwhelmed with work atthe time.   I paid Mr. Knapp to fix my house and now it's hard to tell howmuch more money I will have to spend because Mr. Knapp created more issues.  I did not know about the lack of fan-fold or the covered drain holes until recently when the contractors came to give me estimates.  The leak started in Jan., but I did not have the funds at the time to deal with it then.  I saved up money and just recently had contractors come to look at the problem.  I am thankful for the leak because otherwise I would not have known that Mr. Knapp stole from me by charging me for fan-fold that was never installed.  Mr. Knapp's last words to me were, "I'll see you in court."  Well, I'm going to the Police Department to file charges against Mr. Knapp for selling me something he never installed on my house, so I guess I will see him in court.  I'm pretty sure he's going to have a tough time explaining why my 1900 sq. ft. house doesn't have one stitch of the fan-fold insulation he charged me for two years ago.Regards,

This complaint is for a franchise location and this is their response:I am leaving it with the Hartford after speaking with our rep.  I don't feel we can do anything but aggravate the situation.

her a price of $4800 to redo water lines in outside wall where water lines had been freezing in winter. Took boards off and replaced water lines going to bathroom. Put insulation in wall and vaper bierer on. Put wood siding back on and replaced old rotten boards on rest of house. Replaced boards on deck and boards on porch where screened in porch is. Replaced water lines in crawl space. I furnished all the materials to do the job. I had 2 weeks labor in doing all this. [redacted] ask me if I did siding I said yes. She ask if I would give her a price I said I sure will. I went to my supplier and got samples of siding for her. She showed me a price from [redacted] to do the siding,in closed a porch to make a screened in porch.Wrap all wood with metal. Put new gutter up for $17,000 and charged her $12,900 to do same thing that [redacted]. I saved her almost $5000 and she was happy with that so I did the job. I started out doing the work but my help quit so I couldn't do the job by myself. I let her know the guys were coming to start her siding she said ok sounds good. I did the screened in porch myself. I finished up the job on December 24,2014 I worked Christmas Eve putting up soffit in screened in porch. Had some problems with metal work. I went and fixed it myself. Didn't hear no more from her. Her brother in law sent me a text message saying she had a water leak saying I didn't install siding right. I said if it was installed wrong it wouldn't start leaking after 2 years it would have started leaking before that. I went and looked at the job. She said it started leaking in January 2016. I said you waited till October to let me know. I told her the leak didn't come from me. I don't take up shingles to replace flashing. That is a roofers job. I don't do roofing. I have never taking shingles off to replace flashing. Didn't put fan fold up because house already had blown insulation. Didn't want to double insulation. I offered to give her money back on fan foil she wanted $4000 back. Roofers told her she was going to have a new roof. So I never over charged her. She got everything I gave her prices on. It has been 2 years since the work has been done. I stand behind my work for 1 year just like a contractor does. Look forward to getting this taking care of and getting it off Revdex.com. I am rejecting his response because some of it is not true. Never got a call from him . instead got one from a friend of his.all he had to do is fix the electrical problem. Instead he ignored my phone calls and texts. They are a good group of guys.but do below average work. Wasn't satisfied with the drywall. And middle room has no light or working outlets.that he agreeded to come back and repair. since the situation. I have already begun repairing. Those issues.I just want to thank him for leaving me and the people on the block in a hazardous situation. I wish those guys the best of luck. To bad it didn't work out.

1) We agreed to work with this customer on a daily rate to be paid each day only.
2) We worked well over the 8 hours each...

day and did work 12+ hours on certain days. 3) All work was done professionally and by code and inspected. 
4) We witnessed the customer complete 100% happiness and satisfaction with all work completed. 
5) As a matter of fact, customer was so happy with our work, offered us food and items in return. 
6) After customer ran out of money agreed to have us come back at a later date. 
7) We agreed to come back on a daily rate basis and do more work as the customer agreed to when they received more money to pay us. 
8) We have a perfect tract record for over 30 years and are insulted by these outrageous accusations especially since the customer was so very pleased by our work.
