Review: John [redacted] who operates from Piscataway took money from me to order a vanity with two sinks from me and also money to order a slab to fix my fireplace . The total amounts to approx 1400.00USD. He said he would come back in 15 days (Checks issued in April 2015) and then gave multiple excuses .Said his father in law passed away and he was busy for a month . Then he said he was admitted in a hospital for respiratory issues .He refueses to return calls and refuses to deliver my items or give me back the money . I have a lot of text messages sent but no picture of my items or return my callsDesired Settlement: I dont' want this contractor back in my house and want my money back .

Review: I entered an agreement with QHI on 05Jun2014. It listed ten items and states that QHI will supply the labor and materials to complete the projects for $3300 over a (estimated) period of six days. It has now been two months since work started and only five of the ten items are completed.

Completed items: power wash house, replace missing rain downspout, fix and wrap front porch post, replace basement door, repair/replace basement patio

Incomplete items, most of which were started but not completed:

Replace missing shingles on roof – Patch of shingles missing at front right corner of house. Shingles surrounding chimney are covered in paint and now have to be replaced.

Caulk and seal chimney – Chimney is currently two different colors. Instead of purchasing more sealant, paint that I had stored in my basement for another project was opened used for one of the three sides. Top of chimney not sealed at all.

Repair and stain deck – Inside of deck was stained, while outside, stairs, supports, and parts of railing were not. Nails not hammered in, gate not fixed. Also stain was splattered all over the A/C unit, which I’m not sure anything can be done about now.

Replace picture window – Inside trim no longer fits hole in wall, but was put back up anyway. Needs a better resolution. Outside sill/trim was supposed to taken off and replaced with [redacted]. Outside sill is unpainted wood and no outside trim has been replaced.

Repair leaking 2nd floor window, paint gable vent – Inside was poorly spackled…I don’t even care anymore about the window as long as the gable vent gets painted.

Anything involving paint was done sloppily and without dropcloths which caused damage to the surrounding area. I feel they’ve taken advantage of the fact that I can’t always supervise. First three days the amount of work accomplished was unbelievable. The second I handed over the rest of the money I started having problems with quality and scheduling. I’ve already spent over $500 unplanned on items that QHI said they would supply (picture window, paint, etc). There were other items agreed to verbally but I’ll let those go.Desired Settlement: I would like the listed items finished or 1/3 of my money back so can hire someone else to finish the job and fix the damage done. I have an HoA that is trying to charge me daily for the items not being completed within the specified timeframe.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]Review: [redacted]I am rejecting this because nearly everything listed in the companys response is untrue.

Since putting in the complaint with the Revdex.com, the owner has refused to talk to me on the phone, reply to emails, or come see the work himself. Contact has been limited to short texts saying he is out of state. When workers would show up, it would be last minute, very late in the day, and they would not have basic supplies in order to complete any of the jobs. Someone doing a drop in with no tools doesn't count as effort made to fix anything. I am still unclear as to how much of this is the owners fault, and how much is the employees fault. I've spent additional nights and one additional entire day at home waiting, and they didn't show up for scheduled work.

QHI finally did finally show up on 07Sep, though I didn't have confirmation that would happen until 11:23pm the night prior. They spent a large portion of the day cleaning and repairing past damage. They insisted they could get everything done with two people that day. In the end, they didn't, and had to leave at 7:45 to return their rented truck and supplies. All of the work was not completed. Some of the original plans had to be altered as they could not be fixed. I am not happy with the work, and am undecided about whether its worth pursuing legally. Enough of the work was not completed, or is of such poor quality, that I will have to hire another contractor.

I have been out of town for ten business days the entire summer. The window and doors had to be special ordered because they were items QHI agreed to supply, but when the time came they no longer had the money or resources to do so. It was QHI who over the last month insisted they could only work on weekends because they had other more important jobs during the week.

It is true that one set of screen doors was too large and had to be returned. It was an unfortunate mistake made at the supply store, and I take responsibility for that. Regards,[redacted]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Multiple items have come to my attention since my last reply:- Mike S[redacted], an employee of QHI, performed a large portion of the work contracted, but is not the individual who is writing these letters, though his name is on them. - David J[redacted] has neither seen the state of the house nor returned any of my emails. - David J[redacted] is a registered sex offender and I was not made aware of that.I no longer care to pursue this issue. I'm not happy with the work but enough is enough. I no longer want ANY of these people in my house. If that means you need to dismiss the complaint, so be it.

Regards,

Review: First I just want to say I didn't want to file a complaint. Thos guy did electrical work in my house .rewired the hole house. I was happy with it until I used the out let in the middle bedroom . It spark and flash and no longer worked and the light in that room stop working. This could have been sovled if he came and fixed if.I contacted him and he said he would fix it on April 24 2014. Second he put up lose drywall with screws half drilled.two day before thw 24th I called to make sure he was going to come out he never answered his phone or responed to my texts. Instead his friend called to say he was busy.also he left the cover on the garage floor leaving wires exposed. I think tjis guy got offended when I complained about his worker turning the heat up and walking on top of furniture I had stored in the garage.Desired Settlement: I just want this guy to know he left me in a unsafe situation. Now I sleep in fear the my house may burn down. I live in a row homw wirh people on both sides. Writing this complaint to warn others that this guy does below average work.I wasted alot of time and money with him. Don't want anybody else to do so

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

I am rejecting his response because some of it is not true. Never got a call from him . instead got one from a friend of his.all he had to do is fix the electrical problem. Instead he ignored my phone calls and texts. They are a good group of guys.but do below average work. Wasn't satisfied with the drywall. And middle room has no light or working outlets.that he agreeded to come back and repair. since the situation. I have already begun repairing. Those issues.I just want to thank him for leaving me and the people on the block in a hazardous situation. I wish those guys the best of luck. To bad it didn't work out.

Review: [redacted] Jensen (AKA **) contracted a remodel job to complete my basement. We agreed on a price and he estimated within 7 days he would be complete. On day 7 (after a week of late starts, early stop times and excessive breaks) the job was only about 1/2 way done. ** Jensen asked that I pay him on a daily basis as to assist him with paying his workers at the end of each day. I agreed and we broke down the payments into 7 days. My payments covered materials and labor. All materials were purchased and stored in my garage. After discussing that ** and his motley crew would need two additional days to complete the job, I agreed to let them come back to finish the horrible job they were already doing with the hopes of having it turn around and actually turn out half decent. On the 8th morning, I received a call saying they had arrived to work. I have cameras which I checked and saw they packed up tools and MY MATERIAL into their car and left. No notice of quitting and they wouldn't answer my calls. After voice mail messages and threats of filing a police report via text, He replied saying he would return the material by 5 pm. He did not, nor did he answer my call at 5:30 inquiring if he was coming. A police report has been filed for the theft of the material and a civil case is being processed for the services/labor paid for and not provided. Damages to property will also be included in the civil case for a reputable company to come in and repair the improperly done work as well as refinishing the floor that is covered in dried plaster. They washed their spackle tools in a brand new [redacted] plumbing system which is not equip to handle foreign matter (which they did not install) and will most likely require maintenance to unclog the $1200 pump. They also left a toilet full of fecal matter in my bathroom.Desired Settlement: Materials returned and compensation/refund in the amount needed to have the job corrected and completed. Estimated cost is approximately $2000.00 - $3000.00 (high end only if [redacted] system needs replacing or repairs)

Hello and thank you for following up. I have recently been in touch with the contractor and have considered the matter closed at this point. I have cancelled 2 checks (with Jensen's knowledge per a voice mail message I left him) and then 2 days later he dropped off a check for $300 which has not exactly covered the damages left behind & material nor is it enough to compensation for a new contractor to come in a repair the issues they created or finish the remainder of the job, but it is worth it to me to just cut my losses and move on with a reputable company that will not only complete the job but do it in a more professional manner with better craftsmanship.

If at all possible, I would still like my complaint to go on record in an effort to make other consumers aware of the disturbing experience they may encounter in the event they consider contracting any work to Jensen Development Company / Quality Home Improvements.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I appreciate your assistance and please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Have a nice day,
