This company is a scamThey sent me a bill saying I had a $bill with them but cold not provide me with a copy of a bill or a signed contractI was very confused and afraid this was a scam company as I dont recall signing up for there servicesI repeatedly asked them to send me a copy of any contract I had signed and they could not provide itNow I have them saying they are sending me to collectionsI had a collection agency call me and asked me if I wanted to pay for $some balance with them but they could still could not provide me with any proof or documentationThe gentlemen on the phone that called me from the "collection" agency also got agitated when I asked him for documentation and hung up on meI called back and the number was disconnectedThis does not sound like an honest business to mesomething needs to be done to stop them

After many phone calls and telling this company that the employee they are attempting to contact no longer works here because of this issuethese people continue to call and harass our employees and prevent us from completing our job duties our business owner has also told them to stop contacting the school and they continue to do so I have requested for them to stop calling our business owner at home as wellthey continue to do soThis company needs to contact the person that they wish to speak with directly and LEAVE US ALONE!

I received phone calls from the company during my business hoursI am the owner of a licensed day care and we often do gain lesson plans via subscriptionThe staff was polite during the calls even during our busy mornings I was told they would be sending details about the books by post mailI did receive the information via post, realized this was not lesson plans for the pre k kidsThis information was a break down of pre selected magazines typical to family interest or supermarket linesNo books or magazines were sent at this timeThey call again to verify my information and I asked them to please cancel the order as it is not something actually relevant to my businessThey informed me that there is no way to cancel a subscription- to magazines (not books) The attitude turned and they just repeat their position that they are not able to cancel subscription to which I agreedI have not agreed to accept any of the magazines listed on the paperI do not want to participa

Dear Revdex.com..... thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. After speaking with *** *** yesterday, we at Read America thought she wanted to change some of her magazines and a new substitution list was sent out to her. She had asked about settling her
account but that's a matter for collections. We at Read America bend over backwards to work with and help our customers with their accounts to avoid "collections".We have been working closely with *** *** since Dec of 2013, helping to manage payments, changing selections etc... As with all clients, we received a recorded commitment, of course with customers permission, from *** ***I just reviewed this verification call and all was solid. *** *** understood her commitment to Read America, Inc.I attempted to contact *** *** today personally, and was met with a full voice mailbox so I could not leave a message. *** *** account is almost paid in full? I'm hoping *** *** will see this response and call me back, since I cannot get through to her.Sincerely*** ***V.P.//C.O.O.Read America, Inc

I own an in home daycareRead, America called and asked me if I was interested in a new Sesame Street magazine for my daycareI was speaking on the phone while watching children and so was slightly distracted but understood from the caller that I would receive magazines weekly for about $a weekShe said I would receive different issues, Sesame Street being one of themThe subscription was for yearsI said that sounded like a good deal, assuming that I would be able to cancel if I needed toI then got a follow up call where they reviewed my orderOn that call I asked them what to do if I wanted to cancelShe danced around the issue stating that I wouldn't want to cancelI then said you never know what might happen and specifically asked "what is your cancellation policy"She told me they don't have a cancellation policy but that they would work with me if I was having difficulty payingI let it go and agree to the subscription which was a mistake on my partI was still assuming that they would allow me to cancel and just that they had no specific fees connected with cancelingI received a third call confirming my order and the magazines that I would be receivingAt that point I had gotten some paperwork in the mail showing the magazines that I would be receivingI saw that the only weekly magazine I was getting was a tabloid and that the kids magazines only came once every other monthThe total amount for the subscription was over $I thought that this was way more money than I ever wanted to spend on magazines especially when I was only going to be receiving the kids magazines once every other monthI don't know why they advertise for weekly magazines and signed me up for a tabloid when I am a daycare business and would have no interest in getting thatI told him so on third phone call and again asked them to specify what I could do to cancelAt this point they informed me that I would not be able to cancel because I already agreed to the subscription This seems ridiculous to me since I haven't signed any papers and it simply agreed over the phone When I called back to try to cancel my subscription I had to speak for some time with the customer service rep over the phone trying to let them know that I was not clear that I would not be able to cancel before I had agreed to subscriptionThey kept insisting that the magazines were already on their way and it was too late for them to cancel nowHowever it's been about a month and I still have not seen a single magazine yetI did manage get them to take my subscription down to one year instead of threeI would not recommend going with this business because I feel that you're going to pay more for magazines than you would ordering specifically from the publishersI also feel that their selling tactics were bit unethical

I have had nothing but excellent customer service since doing business with Read America I have never had any issues receiving my subscriptions, and they were very easy to work with when we moved and I was between jobs

I subscribed to this service earlier this yearReceived magazines as ordered However, after months into this service I do not want to continue this service due to the fact that it's too many magazines, and the cost is not efficient at this timeI called to cancel at the end of October and the person was very rude and abruptly told me that I cannot cancel and that I agreed to this and it is on recordingNot only did I call this company but I also put in writing that I wanted to cancel this service and I do not want them deducting funds from my account againThis makes the situation worseI definitely do not want to do business with this company at all

Dear Revdex.com, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have updated our List of Daycare operators that would rather not hear from us

Dear Revdex.com, Again we regret that this matter has been brought to your attention. I just hung up with the client in question. After her husband picked up the other line at their Child Care In home Business and started using foul language ("hang up the F*ing phone") I discontinued the phone call. My purpose for the call was to play back our final verification phone call (done 8.5.15) with Mrs*** so that we are all clear on exactly what was said and by whom. For some reason Mrs*** did NOT want to listen to her own verification? She gave permission for the verification to be recorded because we ask for permission, its on the recordingWe also thank the client at end of verification for their permission to have recorded the verification call If I was accusing someone of discrepancies then I'd welcome the chance to clear it up. Mrs*** does not want to HEAR herself agree to all in the verification call or more importantly, she does not want Mr*** to hear it. During the verification call Mrs*** acknowledged that 1> all payments would be made, 2> that Read America pre-pays for service, 3> she changed her selections, 4> she also changed her terms of payment to a speed pay option 5> she asked us to do payments through her credit card on the 20th of each month starting in November. We would love to resolve this matter but it takes two to resolve. Read America personnel have been instructed to assist in resolving this matter however we will not communicate WITH Mr***. His name is not on the account and we will not take abuse from such a person. It's terrible when one has to deal with matters like this with people like this. The man of the Daycare ranting and cussingHope all their clients children are out of earshot
Again, we are sincerely sorry about this matter finding its way to your desk*** ***

Read! America, INC is a scam they called to say company to company that we can order magazines for $for years pay for only then when my clients realized the total was going to be over $they wanted to cancel, upon calling their number back we were told oh you all agreed and now you have to pay for the services stillWe were also told that we could not cancel the books that they would continue to come and call us for the payments, they received one payment and that will be the only payment they get I had to call each magazine company to notify them that their services were not going to be needed with us any longer

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This issue has not been resolved They say that I have to pay all this money I’ve said in the past that I do not want this but they said that I have to do thisI want out of thisI don’t understand how I am obligated to receive and pay for these and so that is why I have put up with itIt’s come to my attention thought that I have certainly not been the only person with this problem with them and they contacted you and you guys (the Revdex.com) resolved it because there is no contract like they claim there is!Regards,*** ***

Dear Revdex.com; Thank you for forwarding this to our attention. This response is in reference to *** *** Ref # ***Our records show that the order for *** *** was placed on May 25th 2016. At the time Ms*** indicated that she was the Director of *** *** ***
*** If one was to look up Ms*** on Facebook, she confirms it there. On June 13, 2016, we called Ms*** to verify her new order and to make sure her paperwork was correct. Read America asked for and was given permission to "record" the verification callWe also thanked Ms*** at the end of the verification call for her permission to record the verification. Once again she indicated that she was authorized to make this purchase on behalf of *** *** *** *** When the account became delinquent in September of 2016, we called Ms*** on the 6th and she indicated that she would indeed send a payment of the following dayOn September 19th we followed up because we had not received the promised payment. Once again Ms*** indicated that she would call back and provide a payment on her credit card on Oct 1st. Needless to say Ms*** never followed up on that promiseSeveral times we were told Ms*** would call us back, she never did. We have tried several times to contact Ms***since then. When we identify ourselves they simply hang up now. We then asked to speak to the owner, on Oct 21st, "Barbara" called and spoke with a customer service rep here. Barbara said she talked with Ms*** regarding this matter and Ms*** claims she did not place the order for our service. We played the recorded verification for Barbara and asked that she honor the commitment of her own Director and fulfill the order as promised. We were under the impression that Barbara's intention was to honor the commitment. We have tried to reach Barbara to discuss the order and the complaint filed to the Revdex.com and were told that Ms*** does not work there and they hung up?

I run an at home daycareRead America contacted me about receiving educational materials for children, telling me it would only cost $a weekThey continued to call me trying to get me to confirm my order and I was finally able to speak with them while being very busy and rushedI was lead to believe that I would be receiving materials on the same day I made payment to my postal worker, instead we received a list of magazines we would be receivingThe majority of the magazines was a weekly tabloid magazine that I had no interest in and did not wantMy husband then checked the Revdex.com and saw all the negative reviews that involved very similar issuesWhen he called, he was told that most of the complaints on here were about a different Read America in Florida, when he explained that the complaints he was reading were similar to what we were dealing with, the woman he spoke with dismissed him and told him there was nothing that could be done to cancel the order

call. Ms*** agreed to everything and we gave credit to Sales Rep and entered order with Ms***'s final ok! Then as a courtesy we call one final time to verify order. After consideration of the misunderstanding we will be stopping the service for Ms***. No payments will be due and we will be returning check number to Ms***.We wish Ashley much success in her Daycare businessDaycare operators do not receive the admiration they dearly deserve. My business signed up for what we thought was a monthly service that would send children's books that included activities to our childrenAfter the first few months after signing up we received a bill but had not yet received any booksAfter filing an initial complaint with the Revdex.com when then received a call informing us that it takes over 90days to receive our first set of booksAfter we were informed of this when then finally received magazines, later to find out that our service was for magazines not actual children's booksAfter a few more months the magazines stop but we were still responsible for payment, I made a payment with my checking account at which they went into times unauthorizedI then requested to cancel the serviceI was then told that because Read America made a commitment to the magazine company's that if I wanted to cancel I would have to pay over $to cancelI am very dissatisfied with their companyMy business is a small business on a fixed incom

Dear Revdex.com, again please accept our apologies that this matter finding its way back to you again. We have been attempting to reach *** *** over and over, sending letters leaving messages etcetcNo luck You have asked us for a signed contract? We dont have a signed contractWe never claimed to. What we do have is a recorded verification call. Read America has to record every new verified account. We ask each customer for their permission to record the verification callIf we don't get permission we don't process the orderAt the end of each verification, we thank the client again, for their permission to record the call. We have repeatedly offered to replay the verification call for *** ***no reply. *** *** has active accounts with us. Why? If *** *** would contact us we could work out a plan to help her. But if she ignores us then what are we to do? Perhaps you could suggest that *** *** give us a call. ***Regards*** ***Read America, Inc

I understand everything is recordedI am not disputing thatBut I explained to the representative that my daycare business might not continue throughout and she stated that they were only in the business to assist day care providers and to not worry about itMy daycare is closing at the end of March and now I want to stop this trial runI was never given the impression that it was a contract I was agreeing to that couldn't be cancelledI am willing to concede the refund but I feel it is still in the best interest of customer service to cancel the membership immediately since I feel I was misled by the person that signed me up
