Reliance has always given us excellent service whenever we have had any problems. They provided us with prompt service and professional technicians. Adam recently came to my home for an issue regarding the fan on my furnace. The problem was quickly solved thanks to Adam.

Have an issue since Jan. 3rd 2019. Have called dozens of time only to be left with empty promises and no show's for appointments. ***. *** My HRV has been turned off since January and despite speaking to numerous people, they never call back *** or point the figure at someone else in the company.

Customer Response • Apr 10, 2019

I am sorry to advise this problem has not been rectified ***. While someone did call me after the initial complaint, that is all they did- call me. There is no resolution to my issue which has been ongoing since January 3rd 2019. They have taken my HRV system apart and will not put it back together rendering it unusable. I have left countless unanswered messages and have been promised parts would be arriving months ago. .Wondering about my recourse of action? I have offered to get another company to come in and complete the job and send Reliance the bill. ***. I continue to be very frustrated with this company. .

I am filing a complaint with Revdex.com due to the organizations billing - I have been over billed for 1 year even after multiple cancellation of service notifications. New owners of the service address took possession March of last year this is ridiculous the lease was to be transfered for the water heater rent fee to the new owners - when I noticed June 2018 this had not happened I contacted Reliance home comfort by phone, email and online form for there website. I have audited my account and noticed the billing has continued since March 2018 - even as recent as last week. the company owes me over $600 at this time. ***

***Document Attached***
Proof of billing after selling of home

Desired Outcome

Immediate refund + Interest.

I have been in touch with the customer directly to resolve her concerns. The customer has my contact information if she requires any further assistance. ~

. I have been without hot water now for 3 days with no resolution from Reliance. They recently installed a new hot water tank that we use for heating and hot water because our previous one (rental from them too) leaked and destroyed our basement. They didn't replace the blending valve as they should have. However, they don't know their own product and are saying it is our responsibility to get the blending valve fixed - meanwhile it was installed by them with the tank originally. And right in the service manual of the tank it says it is an integral part that must be used with the tank. If it is an integral part then it must be part of my rental contract. Impossible to talk to someone who knows what they are doing. They schedule appointments and then never show up. ***. I don't even know what to do now. Sue them for leaving us without hot water in the winter and breach of contract? At a loss right now. I have been waiting another day for a call back from someone - surprise no call yet! Just another day with no hot water.

A new hot water heater was installed in our new condo by the builder. Our monthly charge was 45.00, a much higher cost then we were originally told for a 1100.00 unit. If we were to cancel prior to 1 year, there would be a penalty. We removed the water heater on Nov.13/18 and were provided with the return form from Reliance. After calling twice, I was assured by billing that I would receive our final corrected bill soon. We continued to receive ongoing rental bills until the resolution dept. understood the issue and stopped ongoing billing. What didn't happen is that Reliance had lost their original return form, the billing dept. received no information from the resolution dept. and so the collection department sent out a threatening letter on March 2/19 for rental payments for months the water heater was not in my home. From the beginning of our communications with Reliance from monthly rental costs, to the cost of buy out to the end of our relationship, I question how a business can continue to prosper with business practices such as these.

We signed a contract for a rental in 2016 and have had nothing but problems.

The clever sales guy convinced us renting was the way to go as we'd get free VIP service calls if we had issues, free yearly maintenance and of the same issue occurred more than twice - the current unit would be removed and new one would be installed.

Well we've had the same issue 4 times in the last 3 months and we have been waiting AGAIN (20 hours since we made the initial call) for the technician to come by. We've been waiting 2 months for a call back from the rep that signed us up for this *** unit.

We have had no heat since yesterday morning and the temperature last night was -30. They keep pushing our appointment times back *** Especially with young children in the house...

The things they have done to "fix" the issue so far are frightening. Disconnecting power to one part, bypassing another part altogether, jimmying a flap open with a zip tie, taking stuff out because "you don't REALLY need that."

I purchased a furnace from reliance 2years ago They put the furnace and the water heater was right beside it and they didn't say anything about it although it was a reliance water heater. The water heater has recently started leaking and when l called them l got a huge runaround. It turned out that the person l bought the house from did not cancel their contract with them so l haven't received a bill. Now they want me to pay what is owing for 7 years to fix the water heater. I have tried 3 days in a row to figure out how to fix this problem and l get put on hold for 20 minutes and no solution. I just got off the phone with them to find out l have to wait till Monday . I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told l couldn't. Now lm sitting here with a leak in my basement and no solution. So much for 24 hour service.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention so we could review this further for you. I am very sorry to hear that you have experience issues with your water heater.
In the event of a move the previous owner would need to contact Reliance in order to have the rental account transferred to the new owners name. The new owner would also be able to contact Reliance to ensure the rental account is transferred over. As the rental account wasn't transferred over in 2011 the account remained under the previous owner, leading to the account closure due to non-payment. Due to the account closure the water heater becomes owned at the property and is not covered for service.
Should you have any further questions please feel free to email me.
Thank you,
Jessica

My furnace busted. I have Reliance base protection plan. Hence got technician come in and diagnised busted seals and secondary heat exchanger on my 12 yr old *** high-effficiency furnace. Apparently formation of condensate i.e. water drops was that product's weakness.

Anyways, techie (***) was extremely patient answering my questions and gave me options to fix or replace. Shut off gas connection to furnace as precaution. This was same day as I called for help!

Within 1 hr after *** called out for sales guy, ***, showed up. Again very friendly and informed as a sales guy should be *** explained all options available. Got to admit it's difficult to stay focused on needs vs many fancy options available! Anyways, was able to finalize on new furnace I wanted, on rent vs buy option I wanted to choose and paperwork for eligible rebates.

Next day morning I had installers come in - *** and ***. Very meticulous installation. Helped explain furnace and its functions. Very careful about floor and furniture around.

Overall pleased with my experience in my time of need. Service is what separates companies these days and so so many new ones forget this important distinction. Good job Reliance.
