Renewal by Andersen Reviews (%countItem)

An installation of doors and windows by Renewal by Andersen in 2018 has led to around 11 warranty appointment visits to correct installation problems: screens that will not stay in place (on the second appointment Gorilla Glue brand super glue was used to attach the tracks and one is now loose again), inside wood trim warping and opening gaps in the caulking, outside transom not properly backed and damaged during light hailstorm, and a leaking stationary window that continues to leak after three visits to correct. When RBA decided to replace the window, at the time of the installation appointment the installers discovered that the new window was damaged and could not be used.

After this last appointment, I have attempted to talk to Andersen about the next steps - I assume that another window has been ordered but that has not been confirmed. I have called twice (1/6 and 1/9) and talked with telephone agents who took messages but would not provide a person I could call. Neither call has been returned. Renewal By Andersen advertises their "Signature Service", but every time I call, I must negotiate an automated system and can only talk to an agent who takes a message.

Mr. is out of town until March 17th. We have scheduled his service appointment for March 25th, per his request.

I have been relentlessly inundated with SPAM emails from this company even though I have never contacted, spoken with, or done business with them. I receive anywhere from 8-10 emails PER WEEK, all from different SPAM accounts with no way to opt our or contact them to have them remove me from their list. This has been going on for almost an entire year!! This type of marketing should be illegal to say the least and is just as bad, if not worse, than Robocalling!! No matter how many times I try to block the email addresses that they come from, they keep forcing their way into my inbox. This company is literally raping my email with all their junk ads.

We apologize for the emails and have removed you from our email process, it may take 7-10 days to be fully unsubscribed.

We purchased 6 large windows (and 2 small windows - not part of the complaint) from RBA of Central PA. The windows provide the view into our backyard gardens and pond. They are replacing windows that have an unobstructed view to that yard - i.e. no screens. The salesman sold "cottage" 1:3 windows with the small sash on top with a half screen on the top only. This style window would in fact preserve our view of the backyard - an option that was an essential factor in our decision. There was no way we would buy a window that (a) reduced the view of our backyard by placing a screen between it and us and (b) did not have the ability to open the small portion for ventilation without letting bugs in. (The windows we are replacing are configured exactly this way, with the small window on the bottom, with a screen.)

Yesterday, the sales person (Shane ***) contacted me to advise me that the factory had built the window and unfortunately the only option was a full screen over the window. He offered the premium true-scene screens at no additional charge.

This is NOT acceptable to us. It is, in my view, a breach of the contract which I signed and committed to paying. The contract clearly states that it was a half-screen option chosen for each of those windows. There was no doubt (as Mr. email indicates) that he understood our desire was to have the screen on the top part of the window.

I want to cancel the contract for no fee because RBA is NOT delivering the product they sold. A lack of communication between the factory and the sales rep is not my liability.

Mr. claims my only option is to cancel and pay 1/3 of the contract price. This would make sense if I were just looking to cancel. But I'm not. If RBA could manufacture the screens for the top sash in this window as contracted, then I'd have no quibble and would take receipt of the windows.

As it stands, I am not. I'm trusting in RBAs reputation to make this right.
Thank you.

We apologize for the misunderstanding about our product configuration options, it is our understanding that the local independent affiliate has been in contact to discuss and resolve this issue.

We contracted with Renewal by Andersen to replace our existing patio French doors on July 8, 2019. They began work on September 27, 2019, after sending out their contractors to measure prior to removing our existing doors. After the installation of the new doors, we contacted Renewal by Andersen on September 30, 2019, because the door would not stay open and continued to hit the back of the door. The sales rep came out and acknowledged the problem and was going to contact his boss to determine what the remedy would be to get the door installed correctly. A service rep showed up on October 22, 2019 and he took pictures of the door, as did the other reps who came out two other times, all acknowledging that the door was not installed properly. He told us he was going to bring this back to his boss and get us information as to when the door will be replaced as the measurements were not properly made when the door was put in and this was causing the door to shut and swing against itself, causing damage. Much to our surprise our initial Sales Rep showed up on November 4, 2019 to take additional pictures which he would be bringing to his boss. He returned with the repair person on December 5, 2019, and informed us, again, that they were bringing this to their boss. On December 10, 2019, we received a call from our Sales rep, stating that Renewal by Andersen was not going to fix the prob as this was a structural issue and, if we wanted it fixed, this was our responsibility. We asked for a letter to this effect which they sent us. We noted that our original door never had this problem, however, Renewal by Andersen and our Sales Rep would not budge on their decision and we now have a door that does not properly work that we paid a lot of money for.

Dear Ms ***,Thank you very much for contacting Renewal by Andersen. We received a call last Wednesday morning from installation manager to set up appointment to come out to take another look at our patio door. It was decided that the company would reinstall the patio door correctly and to our satisfaction. We then received a call from installation manager on Friday and it was decided that the door would be reinstalled on Jan 23rd.

Thank you very much to help us resolve this matter. Much appreciated.

Like some others I found on the Revdex.com website, I am receiving multiple SPAM emails from this company each day. Messages state "This is an advertisement. This message has been sent to you through an affiliate of Renewal by Andersen. I have tried to block the emailer, but they use different email addresses so that does not work. They come from different email addresses and domains each time, none of which are tied in any way to this company. This is not the way a legitimate business does advertising, especially in this age of cyber-security concerns. Simply removing me from their mailing list will not work, as this seems to be an imperfect solution, and one that Anderson has no actual control over. The Revdex.com needs to impress upon this company that they are using deceptive advertising, get them to stop, or remove them from its listing

We apologize for the issues you have been having, and have been in contact with the local office. They are working on a resolution and have been in contact about this issue. Currently they have offered compensation to keep the product as is or to continue providing service in accordance with our Fully Transferable Limited Warranty.

Renewal Andersen says in order for me to cancel my contract for windows which took place one week ago today. I was to have hd the measurement team come out this Thursday but have hd to cancel the project because of an emergency situation in regards to a family crisis that occurred this weekend. When I called to cancel, the salesman, John *** said I would have to pay a fee of 20 to 25 % of the cost of the windows which the cost for the project was 11,000. Nowhere in the contract does it state that this is the penalty I would have to pay. I was told that was what businesses in Illinois charge. In the cancellation policy it says you may cancel without penalty or obligation but does not stipulate a price. First, it is my fault for not reading that and then asking what that would mean but also how the sales person did not bring it to my attention! Its been only a week since he was here and nothing has been started since the measurers weren't coming till this Thursday, November,21.

We are waiting for the customer to submit her official notice of cancellation. Once we receive that we will cancel the job at no penalty. Customer has been made aware.

On October 10, 2019 Roxanne ***, Sales Representative for Renewal by Anderson, visited our home, at our request, to provide a quote on a new sliding glass door and kitchen window. Upon her inspection of the current sliding door she informed us that the door and windows were all installed by her company and that they were under warranty. Roxanne continued to explain that the locking mechanism was broke and that her company were obligated to come and fix it per the warranty. Roxanne continued to inspect the kitchen window and dining room window where she reiterated they were Renewal by Anderson windows and were covered under the "lifetime" warranty Anderson stands behind. Roxanne specifically told *** (Original Homeowner) that "your parents paid a lot of money for these windows and doors, you should utilize the warranty by having our service department come out and fix what needs to be fixed, replace what needs to be, and repair what needs to be". Roxanne also stated drafts were covered under this "lifetime warranty" after *** indicated our bedroom window let a lot of air inside and she told *** to be sure he relayed that information to the service tech that would come out. Roxanne continued to demonstrate the new glass they offer as we moved forward with a quote to install a bay window in the kitchen. *** emailed her on 10/25 since there was no follow-up from her, I called the service department and was told the warranty is 20 years for windows and 10 years for doors, which Roxanne corroborated on 10/28 via email. I called service again on 10/30 and was told the warranty was only for 10 years on windows. I have sent several emails to Roxanne asking for a managers contact information so we could work towards a resolution and have not had any follow-up to date. We are under warranty, temperatures are declining quickly, have two children and want this warranty honored.

I spoke with *** yesterday and apologized for the inconvenience of the situation. We are having our Installation Supervisor go out to the home and create a punch list of what needs to be repaired. Per her request, we will work directly with *** through completion of the repairs.

Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: I spoke with Justin on Monday, November 11th and he indicated he would have someone call me on Tuesday to have the home visit scheduled. It is Wednesday, November 13th and I still have not been contacted by Renewal by Anderson. It is currently 13 degrees F in MI and we have windows that have severe drafts and windows and doors that do not lock. I need to have this addressed ASAP so they can be fixed or replaced. I have received quotes from all available window companies in our area and need to proceed quickly.

Our Installation Supervisor has setup an evaluation appointment for Tuesday November 19th at 2:00PM.

Thanks

We hired Renewal By Anderson to do our windows and front door. The job was a success other then the fact that they removed our doorbell and now want us to pay for an electrician to install the wires they vandalized. This is totally unprofessional. We would simply like them to return and put the wiring they removed or exposed the wiring they tucked away back to its original state.

Revdex.com:I accept that the company will remove me from their email list. However, in the time since they provided their response, I have received 5 more spam emails from them, 3 of which are from the same series of addresses that prompted my original compliant and 2 from some other address. This company is unable to manage their customer communications effectively. I strongly suggest that the Revdex.com either remove them from their listings, or change their rating to more accurately reflect how they choose to deal with their potential customers.

This company uses a third party to advertise for them and sends out a barrage of spam emails. I have been receiving these emails for well over 6 months. I have 'unsubscribed' at least three times now and received acknowledgement that I unsubscribed. The emails NEVER STOP. I receive several spam emails a day and they switch up the email address it's coming from on a regular basis so it's impossible to block them. A simple search online comes up with many sites showing dozens of complaints on each site (going back to 2017) and horrific reviews based on this same issue as well as product and service issues. This HARASSMENT of individuals needs to stop. When someone unsubscribes it means by law they are required to stop sending them within a reasonable amount of time to process the request. Every mailer that gets delivered to my home now goes straight into the trash as well. No way would I ever do business with them based on what I've experienced and what I've read online. I want someone to look into this continued harassment by this business and put a stop to it.

I am rejecting this response because:
How do I know that my email will actually be REMOVED and not be further disseminated or that the only thing done will be to change the domain name? I have received NUMEROUS advertising emails touting RBA from different domains for the past couple months now. I've reported them to [email protected] and [email protected]. NOTHING has changed except for the domain names.

Had windows installed 2 years ago window now leaks due to faulty installation. Requested Renewal by Andersen to come fix problem arrive once. Stated they would need to return. Was given confirmation text by renewal the installers would be here 9/21/2019 between 7am-9Am. No workers ever showed or called. Have left multiple voicemails from phone calls to renewal with no return call . No return of my email submitted through renewal's website. Have only recieved 1 text message on 9/23/2019 @11:26 am saying they apologize. No other follow up or plan given to resolve issue.

Revdex.com: I received a phone call telling me there would be someone out to my home on Sept 28th . I asked Dan *** who had called me what time the crew would be here. I was told "the same time as last weekend" I said between 7am- 9am. I was told yes. . By 10 am on Sept 18th. No crew had arrived. I sent an email to the area sales man who had reached out to me about purchasing more windows, I also called him to discuss my displeasure with once again one one showing up or calling when about not showing up during the time I was told they would be here. I also called their branch and spoke with Ryan to discuss the ongoing matter . I received no further updates until 1:17pm when I received a call from an installer telling me he would arrive in 20 minutes. Upon arrive he look at the installation and was very apologetic about how bad they installation was and they should have completed the job the right way when did installed the windows. He was here about 2.5 hours working to replace all of the flashing around the windows & door previously installed by renewal by Andersen.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Each day, I receive 2 or more spam emails from Renewal by Andersen. Each spam email comes from different addresses with changing domains (e.g., .icu, .xyz, and now .email) to avoid spam filters. This is a practice associated with spamers and other dubious operations. While the spam emails have a link to click to remove my name from Renewal by Andersen's spam list, I cannot click on it because my antivirus informs me that the link is not safe and likely a phishing site. Since I have never done business with Andersen and will NEVER do business because of their spam/phishing operation, I want Andersen to stop harassing me by flooding my email with spam/phishing emails.

The gentleman arrived on time they did spectacular work very clean and tidy

I am constantly getting spam emails from this company. I have never done any business with them. I am receiving anywhere from 5-20 spam emails a day from them. I have requested numerous times to be removed from their lists but am never removed. This is not a company I will ever do business with. The insanity of the volume of unwanted, unrequested and unwarranted spam is beyond acceptable.

Started receiving daily spam email from this company earlier this year. Called RbA at and made a request to Yolanda to have my name PERMANENTLY removed from their email list on 8/12/19. Emails stopped for about 10 days, then started again and overall spam mail has also increased.

I filed a complaint here a few months ago regarding spam email harassment (multiple emails per day) and mysteriously, the very next month I received my first ever giant spam poster mail in my home mailbox from (GUESS WHO?) Renewal by Andersen. Clearly they took my home address off of my complaint form here and put me on their mailing list! I am disgusted with this company.
