I am fed up with the Spam email I receive from this company on a daily basis. Enough already!!! Just the spam emails motivate me to never buy anything from the entity. What a lazy way to advertise.

Absolutely fatigued from seeing literally dozens of SPAM Renewal by Andersen E-mails in my "***@hotmail.com" inbox every week. I've never even purchased a product or service from Andersen, and have requested 'unsubscribe" multiple times.
Would appreciate contact form the actual business explaining their advertising strategy and if these E-Mails are indeed from Andersen or from a scamming robo-email program. But the E-mails are garbage...I have no use for them please take me off all contact lists you or any affiliates have. if I want a product or service, I have the resources to FIND YOU!! Save your cold-call nonsense for your 1980's typical QVC customer.

NON STOP SPAM. They use endless throw away emails. I work in IT and this is the exact same methodology as scammers all over the world. If you have a legitimate business, this is not how you advertise. This is how you harass.

Company will not stop spamming me and others in my household. Using several servers and domain names to circumvent spam filters. Ads do not take you to the advertised link. Volume of emails now exceeds 5-10 per day. Many other ways in which company willfully is violating CAN-SPAM act.

Hi ***,

Many thanks for your help mediating this issue.

Our position is that we should wait the 10 days they claim it will take to be removed, and see if we continue to receive the spam messages. Their messages always come from different senders, so it's almost impossible to block them.

Thank you again

I am constantly getting spam emails with the subject Renewal By Andersen and they are coming from 3rd parties. Multiple times per day and the emails will not stop. I have never asked for anything with this company and want them to leave me alone

I receive all too frequent email SPAM from this company. Apparently they use differing sending email addresses to circumvent SPAM blocking.

I am rejecting this response because:

Good morning Ms.,

Thank you for the followup regarding chronic SPAM I have received from *** Renewal. I did receive an email from John *** and yet last night received another unwanted SPAM message from the company. Yes I realize it is suppose to take 7-10 business days before I can no longer expect another message from this company.

However...in my opinion...the company should NEVER have begun a SPAM campaign in the first place! I assure you...even though I may be removed from their SPAM list...how many other people must endure this blatant violation of privacy? Even if you hit the UNSUBSCRIBE link...they completely disregard any such request.

Thank goodness for the Revdex.com! I sincerely appreciate your time and effort in resolving this issue.

I have also initiated complaints again other such companies due to the excessive SPAM received daily. Just yesterday I submitted a similar complaint against *** Pest Control.

Thank you again Ms.! (Hopefully no relation to *** Renewal)

Kind regards,

***

I receive all too frequent email SPAM from this company. Apprarently they use differing sending email addresses to circumvent SPAM blocking. This in itself should be criminal - how can a consumer have any trust in a company who employs such a tactic?

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO STOP THESE EMAILS!? I have spent months blocking the several emails that I get from this place daily... but they just keep coming. The emails from this place is becoming such a problem that is has me seeing red! STOP SENDING ME EMAILS! This has went from being a nuisance to harassment! Anywhere between 80-100 emails from this place monthly... is there any way to stop these emails?

Hi my mental well being had suffered from this companies harassment. Hey are constantly creating ew emails to advertise to me and refuse to stop spamming. If I had it my way I’d have this entire corporation shut down for the amount of time I have been forced to wasted reporting and deleting their unsubscribeable spam which I have never signed up for or even utilized this companies services in my life which I have zero need for.

Approximately one year ago, I contracted with Renewal by Andersen to install a patio door and four windows. They windows have not yet been fully installed as of 6/4/19. They were initially measured or built incorrectly. Since the initial install, my windows have been measured and rebuilt 5 or 6 times and now today, Renewal told me there was an issue with the serial number on the window that cracked several months back and yet again they could not finish installing and repairing my window. I have been paying on these windows for months with the expectation they would be correctly installed and repaired, however, Renewal has not lived up to their end of the contract and when I confronted them months back, I was told they would stain my windows for free, which has not yet happened either since they can't seem to install or repair my windows.

The email received in their behalf ends up in my junk mail AND has become an issue. I have to check my junk mail for business and professional reasons since some correspondence ends up there during the filtering process. I am getting Renewal by Anderson ads twice an hour on average. This is HARASSMENT not advertising. No one should get 10-20 advertisements on their personal email on behalf of one company EVERY DAY!
I'm ready to really get involved with this and contact Congress and the Committees involved, newspapers, editorial sections and other ways to reach out to the public. Trying to call someone to tell them this is on a harassing scale now and costing me time and money is a joke and maybe they need to go to court for some kind of remuneration. So, I am going to the Revdex.com first, and will go from there. Thank you!

I received an email advertisement today from Renewal by Andersen. I have never subscribed to or purchased anything from this company. At the bottom of the email there is an option to "unsubscribe" from future emails. Immediately upon clicking on the "unsubscribe" link I'm taken to a new website. Here is the URL of the new window: "http://pub.s7.exacttarget.com/hxafk4bhe5c?email=&storeId=&optoutsource=Converge... My computer virus protection program blocked the page from loading to prevent a Virus being installed on my computer. I kept the email and I also took a screen grab of the virus detection message should you wish to verify my complaint. I wasn't able to "unsubscribe" because that page got blocked. I consider this method of advertising to be invasive and borderline fraudulent. Computer viruses can be harmful to computers and many times they are difficult to remove. Viruses plow through the user's hard drive and retrieve personal information and send information back to "Renewal by Andersen". I never ticked any boxes allowing the sender to install a virus on my computer or plow through my hard drive seeking personal data about myself. Copy the URL above into your browser and hit ENTER. Caution: you may get a Virus if you don't have a protection program. Is this the way a professional company advertises? I sincerely hope that Renewal by Andersen will review their advertising guidelines and choose to advertise in a way that doesn't expose the public to invasive computer viruses. I once lived in a home built with Andersen Windows. My thoughts at the time were that my windows would last the life of the house. They seemed like they were quality built. After my experience today I am very unlikely to ever buy their products. Furthermore I have all intentions to inform everyone on my personal and corporate mailing list to never do business with "Renewal by Andersen". I will advise everyone to file a complaint as I have done so today.

We are sorry to hear he has been inconvenienced, I have contacted our communications department and they have reassured me that we are CANSPAM complaint and he can certainly remove his email address from our master database. It can take up to 14-21 days to have it removed. We will unsubscribe the email in the complaint.

Customer Response • Jan 09, 2019

I am rejecting this response because: The email that I received did in fact attempt to install a virus on my computer. There has been no request to examine the email I received. There is no apology for sending me an infected email. If the advertising committee was concerned about sending out emails with viruses it would seem appropriate that they would like to further investigate this matter as to change their practices and not send out any further infected emails on their mailing lists. Their response only tells me that they have no desire to change their advertising policy.

I was to have my windows installed on 10/16/18; I was called @ 12:03 PM the prior day to say there was a shipping issue, it would be the 17th. I was unable to be there, so after the installers showed, I left for work, leaving my mother home as the job was to be completed. When I returned from work, I asked if they showed her how the windows operated (as was done in a previous installation, and is on the checklist). Her answer- no, they left a list, but didn't go over it.
When I looked, there was expandable foam on the INSIDE of 3 of my new, beautiful wood windows, 2 of them have a small portion of the metal incorporated in the window showing on the bottom, and 1 window has small gaps, leaving my worried about the integrity of the window in the future. I left a message, as requested, that I cannot give them a good rating and was called and told I would have the installers back. I called my sales rep explaining the issues and that I would be comfortable to talk to someone other than the same installer, I had questions. Larry, the crew leader and who did the measurements, finally showed up after back and forth messages. He cleaned the foam, talked about issues, but had excuses as to why the foam was left (it was sticky, and they guys couldn't deal with it), the metal that shows is the angle of the bottom of my window (this isn't present on the previous windows), the uneven gapping on the small window is a manufacture issue and he has nothing to do with that. So will it let in air or have issues opening/closing in the future? Who knows-not his department. I equate this to an appliance delivery; the store sells an appliance and after it is delivered and discovered not to work, they would say "sorry we sell and deliver, if it doesn't work, that is a manufacture issue," and then leave it for the homeowner to deal with. As for not going through the checklist with my mother, demonstrating how the windows work; Larry stated that he asked his crew; they said they did it. Larry told me, "so it is an issue of he said, she said," and left that hanging as his response. When I am able to finish the rest of my windows, I will be checking my options. I would have liked to stay with the same company, and for re-sale purposes in the future, when buyers hear there are Andersen windows, that is usually a positive.

We have had to call Andersen about five times with problems with the windows and installation. Today is the last straw. There was a heavy rain, and water poured in through the living room window and down into the basement. I don't want to deal with them any longer.

The customer has been added to our quarantine list. In order for us to investigate the matter further, we request copies of the emails that the customer has received be forwarded to ***. We will need to receive the advertisement email itself in order to better investigate the issue.

On 02/2017, Renewal By Andersen proceeded with the replacement of windows in my home in 3 bedrooms: 1 bedroom has one only one window (awning replaced by awning), another has 2 (awning to awning), and the 3rd bedroom has 2 (1 double-hung and 1 awning, both replaced to the like).
After replacement, I noticed that the new awning windows open far more restrictively than the ones we had before, therefore causing a safety hazard in case of fire (impossible to escape through the window).

I have been in extensive discussion with the company since then (available if needed), and we are at a dead-end: the company does not have (and does not seem to want to create) an opening mechanism to allow further opening; the company offers a sliding window as replacement, which is not the style I want; when proposing installing a casement on the side, the company mentioned that though possible, that might put stress on the mechanism (and therefore cause warranty issues); when mentioning a mechanism (pin-like) to separate the window from the cranking mechanism, the representative from Andersen mentioned that I would have to pay for it, find someone to install, and that it would void my warranty. It seems to me that the company is not interested in resolving the matter to the best interest of its customer.

My contention is that the sales representative should not have proposed selling an awning window as a replacement, since he knew that the opening would not match safety standard when this type of window is the sole opening in a bedroom. Had he mentioned that, we would not have chosen Renewal By Andersen for our window project.

Renewal by Andersen Response

Renewal by Andersen sold and installed a product that met code requirements for replacement applications. Mr. expressed concern about safety after installation given that the hardware mechanism on the new windows do not open the sash as far as his old windows. The safest solution based on new construction code requirements is to create a larger opening in the bedrooms and install windows that meet new construction egress requirements. Mr. would like to retain the look of the home and did not want to proceed with that option. The building official recommended Glider's as potential option, thus we worked with the building official to get an exception approval to replace the awnings with Gliders. The Glider windows would change the look of the home, thus Mr. did not like that solution either.

In summary Renewal by Andersen has demonstrated good faith by working with Mr. and the building officials to identify a couple of alternatives including (1) replacing the awnings with Glider Windows, which was recommended by the building official or (2) creating larger openings in the bedroom's and installing windows that meet egress requirements for new construction applications, which is the safest alternative. Renewal by Andersen cannot provide any other alternatives to meet Mr. requests.

Renewal by Andersen Response

Renewal by Andersen did provide the option of enlarging the openings in the homeowner's house and installing windows that meet new construction egress requirements at an additional cost. If the concern is being able to safely evacuate the room in case of an emergency that is the best solution. The homeowner originally did not want to pursue that option as it drastically changed the appearance of the home.

The windows currently installed in the homeowners house were sold and installed within building code for replacement situations. There are no known issues with the windows or the installation. Renewal by Andersen will continue to honor the warranty on the windows that were installed.

If the homeowner would like to get a quote for enlarging the openings in his home and installing windows that meet new construction egress requirements please contact me and we can arrange for a sales consultant to meet with the homeowners to walk through that process.

Thank you

Customer Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Hello,

We rejected the option of enlarging the opening due to the cost that we would have to incur to create the opening when we had already spent so much money purchasing these windows, and that simpler options seemed to be available at that time in our various exchanges with RenewalByAndersen.

We do not accept the reasoning from RenewalByAndersen.... [Due to character limitation in the response, the whole answer cannot be reproduced in here. Please refer to the attachment]
