Republic Parking Northwest Reviews (85)

Note sent to RPNW.com on 12/15/2017
Contesting the $25 late fee on RP418425. On 11/10/2017 I did park for your $10 special evening parking. Unaware that you add another $25 when it goes past mid-night. My bad, I will let others know this business practice through various reviews.
The magnetic strip on my credit card was not working. I talked to someone on the phone and they said they would mail a bill. RP418425 is the first notice I have received and it already has a $25 late fee added for a total of $60. I will pay the $35, please correct the notice.

Republic Parking Northwest corrected this issue quickly and changed the notice to $10, plus $2.50 to pay online. They did alright by me.

Review: when I parked in their parking garage I specifically asked for the parking ticket so I could get it validated inside the hospital and was told by their employee that because of the time at night I did not need to get a ticket validated because the booth would be closed by the time I left and he specifically told me "not to worry about it" so when I left there was a parking ticket on my win shield that told me I must pay the full day parking price or pay $33 if I didn't pay this within 15 days so after paying it I sent an email to the company about what had happened ! and they sent me an email back explaining to me how many ways this was my fault but had no comment that their employee had told me I didn't need to do any of this so I sent a second email again pointing out that had their employee not told me that I DIDN'T NEED TO DO ANY OF THIS and told me I could have had it validated in the ways that was pointed out in the email then I would have not been in the position I found myself in it was their fault for me having to pay that not mine because their employee told me I didn't have to !!!Desired Settlement: they should refund my money and not try to tell me this is my fault because of their employee's actions ! I just did what their employee told me to do !!!

Good Afternoon,Thank you for your letter of complaint. I have read over the customer's statement thoroughly and would like to offer our response. The parker had parked at Deaconess Hospital and upon driving into the garage the attendant told him to go ahead and park. It was late, and our attendants booth was closing up. Typical protocol for this scenario, when the booth is closed, is to allow the patient/visitor to park, and then we issue what is called a "Parking Due" to vehicles in the garage for the cost of daily parking. With this notice we include a pre-addressed envelope for patients to remit payment or a hospital validation. Mr. [redacted] states that he was told to not worry about the validation and to go ahead and park. Our attendants typically let all parkers know that they can receive validation for their parking inside the hospital. Mr. [redacted] had received his parking due during his hospital visit and later paid the notice online in the amount of $3.00. If you choose to remit payment online, the system charges a $2.50 convenience fee, which is made known before completing the payment. We have discussed talking to our employees at the hospital to ensure they are letting patients know they can receive a validation inside the hospital. If Mr. [redacted] had called our office, or emailed regarding the confusion of his parking due, it is our best practice to accept a hospital validation over the phone, due to the scenario. This would have marked the notice as VOID and paid his parking for the day. We make sure to include our address, phone number and email address on all notices that are issued, in case there are any questions. We felt our emailed response to Mr. [redacted] was simply just explaining the process, a refund was never requested at this point, We apologized to Mr. [redacted] for his troubles but did let him know that he had many avenues to use if had questions or wanted to make a payment free of charge. We stress our customer service at Republic Parking N.W. and are sorry that Mr. [redacted] is upset with the employee interaction and the online convenience fee. We received Mr. [redacted]s home address in the Revdex.com complaint and we would like to mail a check out for the full $5.50, to ensure our customers are nothing but happy with the service we provide. We hope that this will clear up any frustrations. Please see the attached communication with Mr. [redacted] for further information. If there are any other questions or concerns, Please let us know. Thank you for your time, [redacted]AdministrationRepublic Parking N.W. Inc.,[redacted]

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: On 11/18/2013, we parked in the [redacted] parking garage. We were briefly admitted into the hospital and were discharged after the parking attendant was off duty. When we left the garage, we did not see a notice or ticket of any kind saying that we owed money to the parking company. On 12/11/2013, we received a letter saying we owed a $30 late fee for a ticket that was supposedly administered on the night in question. I called the customer service line to figure out what was going on. It turns out that I have a parking pass on my vehicle that very closely resembles parking passes used by [redacted] employees and this seemed to cause confusion in the process of administering the ticket. I payed the $3 parking fee plus the $30 late fee, as I did not want the bill to land in collections.Desired Settlement: I have no problem paying the $3 parking fee however, I do not think we should have to pay the $30 late fee since we were not aware that a ticket was issued until receiving notice of late payment. Thank you for your time.

I reject this response because my vehicle never had a ticket under the windshield wiper. When I called initially to see what was going on, I thought the ticket, which is attached, was assigned to my husband's vehicle, which was also parked in the parking garage the same night. His vehicle received a ticket, which we paid using cash. Mine did not. That was where the confusion with the customer service representative began. Also, the customer service representative stated that because my employer's parking permit, which remains permanently on my rear-view mirror, was mistaken for a Deaconess parking permit, a ticket was not placed on my vehicle that night. Bottom line is, there was never a ticket inserted under the windshield wipers or on any part of my vehicle and the first notice I received of said parking ticket is this late notice, which is attached.

Review: I have received a notice of a parking ticket in the mail which is for a car I did not own at the time of ticket. I called Republic Parking who will do nothing until I prove I did not own this car at the time. That is fine, I can do that, however, I was threatened with garnishment of wages if I did not send them the $33. They said they run the plate and see who owns the plate and then bills that person. First of all the ticket was from November 2012, I purchased the vehicle in January 2013 and just got the first bill in the mail April 17th, 2013. I feel this is a huge scam as they should be able to see who owned the vehicle at the time and they are trying to scare or threaten me with garnishment should I refuse to pay. I will provide them with proof via my registration and used car order from the car lot to make this go away. I would like to add this to any other complaints you may have for this company. Thank you for your time. [redacted].Desired Settlement: I just want this ticket reversed, removed, cancelled, whatever it takes so I do not have to pay for a ticket that was sent to me in error.

RE: ID 9509703 Mr. [redacted],

In response to the complaint made against our company, I have compiled the extremely curt emails sent by the complainant as well as an email I sent to my supervisor and manager following the phone conversation I bad with Ms. [redacted]. My supervisor was present for the call and observed both my professionalism as well as the fact that at no point throughout the call was wage garnishment mentioned, threatened, or even something our company does when parking notices are delinquent.

The complaint made to the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted] is lacking the actual facts of who was threatened, verbally disrespected, and MUCH more.

Thank you for your time. Please feel free to contact me with further questions.
