Safebound Moving & Storage Reviews (%countItem)

Safebound Moving did a great job to move us from FL to MD last Friday. They moved our goods carefully & didn't waste any single minute. All the guys from this company were very polite too. Would totally recommend them to everyone!

They showed up on time and made my moving experience easy. They finished my 3 bedroom house in 5 hrs. They were very FRIENDLY and COURTEOUS and any questions they had they made sure to ask.

Grossly overestimate on moving .cost on contract was agreed. They woukd not come to house to do estimate. We believe they were scamming us.
Refuse to give us our deposit back.

Desired Outcome

Our deposit back

We are taking a loss from this company. They are blatantly scammers, and should lose thier license. We are just trying to warn the public.

One mattress and two boxsprings did not come with the delivery. Damage to a number of items that the moving company did not wrap for protection.
Contract drawn up on 6/19/2020, move date 6/25/2020. Our belongings were moved three times by moving company prior to delivery date to our SC address. Antique queen headboard was never wrapped at all and lost many parts that were affixed and held the headboard parts together. The wooden shelves on two shelving units only had tape, whereas the matching shelves for the console were wrapped appropriately. The console arrived fine but the shelves for the shelving unit all had breakage. We had three mattresses and two boxsprings as part of the move. We only received the king and full mattress upon delivery. Multiple boxes were crushed, re-taped, as well as a few vacuum sealed bags. At time of delivery the movers called
the Boston warehouse to inquire on the location of the two box springs and mattress since they were not on the truck on 7/11/2020. We have had multiple calls with customer support and the driver since that point with no resolution. Follow up with anyone at the main office was difficult at best. We had and have to continue to follow up daily with emails and phone calls to attempt to get answers with little if any results. Internal communication amongst the staff is lacking: messages are not relayed, staff is unprofessional using terms like "let's open our listening ears," to us.

Desired Outcome

We seek a billing adjustment for the breakage on the improper wrapping of our shelving units, to either repair or replacement. We are also seeking replacement cost for lost queen mattress, queen boxpring and full boxspring.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Delivery driver (Oren) did not provide a copy of the Order for Service Household Goods Descriptive Inventory, nor provided a receipt for cash paid for balance of contract. No opportunity to sign any documents was provided to the customer on delivery date (7/11). Driver called his warehouse in Boston to inquire about missing items before he left premises, with neither party on the phone able to locate our items. Driver took all documents with him when he left the premises. Company is fully aware of our complaint as we spoke with customer support (***) on Monday 7/13 at 2:30pm regarding our issues. The response given to the Revdex.com is a standard/generic legal response not specific to our case and is nothing more than a delay tactic. Customer service department is uncooperative and/or unresponsive with feedback and resolution requests. We request a case specific response from the senior management or owner of the company (***).

Moving guys came on estimated time. They were really very kind, obliging, diligent and caring during our move from FL to CA. They have go non-stop for 6 hours and honestly worth every single penny because they made my day of move a stress free!!
The whole operation of moving was more responsible. Will go with Safebound Moving always going forward.

Long story short.

We researched many moving companies and came down to two, Safebound being 1 and ***'s moving being the second.

During FaceTiming with ***, he asked if we had other companies we were looking at we told him ***'s because of price was much cheaper but they didn't have great reviews. *** acted as if he never heard of ***'s and during call asked people next to him who they were and was told they are a competitor. *** told us our stuff wouldn't be moved off of truck once it was on, and that they don't contract out! So we chose them due to this and the reviews.

Moving day came and ***'s moving truck and guys showed up, asked they who they work for they all said ***'s, called Safebound and *** the one who answers phone said they use *** daily. I said I was told they don't contract out she said they do. I then spoke with *** the manager or owner and he said it's their guys and they use them when needed I told him what will said and that we basically paid the extra money for Name of safebojnd even though we got *** moving. Our stuff showed up in a diff truck and didn't get any money after being played and lied to. Wouldn't recommend to anyone

Movers were rude, unreliable, did not follow through on promises, and have not done a single thing to fix it. I have broken and missing items.
Move from Chicago to Denver on May 26 costing almost $3,000. I thought I had done my research and now I'm left with missing and broken items after my cross country move. It started out great - Will spoke with me for almost an hour about my items. FaceTimed me to show me the warehouse and trucks with their logo, and even talked me into spending $250 to pack my TV, large Mirror and my grandmother's china that has been in our family for 4 generations. I was told I would have everything bubble wrapped and put into a double padded box labeled Fragile. I was told 2-3 days notice of the pickup/drop off date with at least 24 hours notice of a 2 hour window. After sending emails and calling multiple times, I was told "probably Tuesday" on Friday, but they'd give me 2-3 days notice. Monday I received a call that they'd be there the next morning, less than 24 hours from then. I scrambled to pack everything up that evening. Tuesday they arrived and the movers (outsourced to another company so I'm not sure why I was shown the Safebound trucks, it's not like they used them) had no idea I had a second stop or already paid the elevator fee and shuttle fee (outlined in the agreement). They were also completely unaware of the $250 I had paid for extra packing, and ended up using my boxes I had purchased from Amazon to box my TV and Mirror, and threw bubble wrap on top of the china I had in a plastic bin (no double padded box). Fast forward to the delivery, I got a call at 1pm on a Monday that they'd be there by 11am Tuesday. I was still in the original city I was moving from as I thought they were going to give me 2-3 days notice. I ended up taking a same day flight to get back in time for delivery. I live in a high rise and the freight elevator has to be booked in advance. I was then told the following day around 11am (the time of scheduled delivery) that they wouldn't be there until 6pm. I rescheduled the elevator. The movers did not show up until 8:30pm, after the time the elevator is allowed to be booked. One of the two movers was so blatantly rude to the point where he asked me to personally Venmo him $75 to carry my items from the elevator to my apartment door (it is 3 doors down from the elevator, not a long carry at all). I had to pay the rest of my balance due in cash with no receipt and when I included a cash tip he muttered "wow usually we get more." He made my move in an absolute nightmare and because I refused to Venmo him and asked for the company to bill me, he became very reckless with my boxes and dropped one of the boxes of china. More than 10 pieces were completely shattered and he didn't have a care in the world. There isn't an amount of money that could replace these antiques, however, when I did call to let Safebound know what happened and ask for a $250 refund for the service they didn't even deliver, I got a "we'll call you back." I was waiting to write this review in hopes they'd come through, but it's been weeks and I haven't heard anything. Please. I beg you. Do not hire this company if you value your items and need professionals to move your things.

Desired Outcome

At a minimum, I'd like a refund for what was not even given to me - packing of my grandma's china and tv/mirror and for them to cover the cost to get the China that is possible to repair fixed.

Safebound Moving & Storage were amazing! They wrapped and carried a huge sectional sofa, very heavy futon, bed/mattress, a dozen very heavy bins, marble-top coffee table, several random pieces of furniture, plus and 55-inch flat-screen tv QUICKLY and EXPERTLY. They even put the 2-piece sectional sofa and the platform bed back together. And they did it all in 3-1/2 hours! I highly recommend this great company!

Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value

Safebound Moving & Storage is 5 STARS. The crew showed up when they said they would, called me a 30 minutes before they were expected, and were in and out in a matter of 4 hours. Similar experience on re-delivery. We had one broken glass throughout the whole process, thankfully it was a cheep glass.

Safebound was Great!!

We were relocating last month although this move was long time coming. We went for Safebound Moving & Storage because they gave us the lowest quote. They were very efficient at everything. The movers arrived on time and everything went really smoothly. Nothing was broken or damaged when they made the delivery. This company truly made our move easy. They are definitely worth hiring again.

I must say Safebound Moving & Storage is the best I have ever used! The most fair and reasonable prices around with NO RIDICULOUS HIDDEN FEES that I've experienced with other movers. The movers themselves were kind and speedy, and they made my move a much less stressful experience. I will definitely be using them again for my next move, and referring others as well! Thank you Safebound Moving & Storage.. you're the best!

I was very impressed with the professionalism of this company. The owner is a great guy that will get on the phone with you if you want to discuss your move. He helped me figure out the logistics of my move of one piece of furniture. My piece was METICULOUSLY packed & carefully loaded / unloaded. The crew was great too & called upon arriving at destination for pickup and then again prior to arriving to make the delivery. BIG THUMBS UP !!!

An excellent company. They were pleasures to deal with in making the arrangements. And the moving team was on time, courteous and completed the move promptly and professionally. They even went above and beyond and helped hang one of the items for us. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

These Guys are awesome!!!
The guys arrived on time ... Actually 20 minutes early and went to town. Every piece of furniture was wrapped thoroughly with packing blankets and shrink wrap. They worked FLAWLESSLY as a team and moved my furniture without a single hiccup. Not a single thing was damaged, there wasn't a scratch on a wall they made my move effortless.

The delivery of my valuables were damaged or missing (approximately $750) It has taken 3 months for a claim with $58 dollars refund.
American movers sub contracted out to Safebound logistics, the movers came on August 28th 2019, packed my house up and I called once I was settled with home in Florida to have my move delivered on October 8th 2019. Floor lamps, artificial palm tree, dining room table, damaged, plus missing iron bistro table (funny my chairs were delivered, but no table). I was told to take pictures and submit a claim right away for damaged items. The missing item I called and emailed over the next 2 1/2/ months to see when it would be delivered. Finally they got tired of me and told me it was lost, and to file in the same damaged claim with CSI claims. I submitted all detailed documentation from pictures to bill of lading. Over the next 3 months we are now in January 2020, I kept following up with CSI. 3 days ago I received an email from CSI my claim is done and the amount to cover my damages and missing item was $58.63. I am very upset and this is unacceptable. This is obviously a racket for sure. The moving company loses and damages your valuables and can only return $58 dollars? This is the worst company ever it cost me over $4000 dollars to move, I was told all of my barcode tagged boxes and items would go to a storage where all would be put in a location together. Not only is the bull, but my valuables smelled terrible, must have been thrown around and boxes tumbled upside down to break more valuables, and heat damage to wood and other items. so again, all I am asking for is a fair reimbursement of my lost and damaged items for the claim. I had to come to terms with all the other heartbreaking broken items that can never be replaced. I just want a fair dollar amount to replace the broken and missing items. I even went low on the values palm tree, floor lamps, dining table, missing iron bistro cafe table, which would be more in the ballpark of $750. I would be willing to accept $475 which still can not replace all the items in my claim. American on The Move, Safebound Logistics and CSI Claims make my experience the worst ever and I will never do business or recommend them again. I just want my fair reimbursement.

Desired Outcome

I just want CSI claims to make adjustment from $58.63 to $475 for my reimbursement of my damages and missing item.

Safebound Moving & Storage Response • Feb 13, 2020

We apologize for any damages incurred in the move, The compensation offered to you is based on the free of charge basic valuation protection of 60 cents per lb per article you have selected, to which your signature attests. Since you have not paid for Full Value (Replacement) Protection, we must determine that your selected coverage is the only option available free of charge.
Unfortunately, the cost, value or repair cost of the items is irrelevant, and the compensation must be determined according to the coverage you have selected.

Customer Response • Mar 17, 2020

So as I read through my emails following up on this matter, I have not heard from CSI since January 30th. So as you can see not only was my claim not satisfied they have not responded with any additional updates.

My experience, the damages, the insufficient amount of money to replace items is still an ongoing issue. 5 months later and I am super frustrated.

I felt compelled to provide a reference for Safebound Logistics after our experience in moving from Massachusetts to North Carolina. After researching about a dozen options, and spending hours reading the fine print it was apparent that the guaranteed Quotations had so many out clauses that nothing was guaranteed.....especially the low ball prices. Just use your common sense, how could they possibly provide you a quote that's even close to what you'll be really charged based solely on how many rooms in your house. It also became obvious that most used independent truckers as well as 3rd party local movers at the destination to deliver and unload our possessions. None of them could assure us full responsibility from packing and loading to transportation and storage to delivery and unloading with their own crews and contracts....except Safebound. They came to our house, inventoried everything, identified anything that would need special handling and only then provided their proposal. They were also very flexible in including special terms to satisfy any concerns we had. We were at first petrified with the thought of moving our large house after living there for 22 years, but Safebound Logistics took care of everything. From Mike, their executive sponsor for our move, down to each and every employee (too many to name) involved either on-site or back at their corporate headquarters, they worked hard and did everything necessary to make our move affordable but more importantly stress free. Thank You Mike and Safebound Logistics team!

We used Safebound Logistics to move my parents from Delray Beach Florida to Acworth GA on JUly 17th, 2019.
We had many boxes, some furniture and everything was boxed by Safebound Logistics including a large ceramic asian elephant valued at 400.00. The elephant arrived in Acworth, GA in 10 pieces, totally broken, see attached picture. We also had 2 missing boxes from the load that was never delivered. One containing 20 ball caps from places visited around the world and the 2nd box a box of framed pictures from around the world. Priceless items. We paid good money for this move and thought we were dealing with a upstanding corporation. When I tried to deal with them regarding the damage/loss they referred me to Claims at CSI who after 4 MONTHS of reviewing the claim offered me 18.00 for the loss/damages.
I find this unacceptable and unfair. I asked for at least 1/2 the worth of the damaged elephant. $200.00, plus $50.00 for missing 2 boxes.

Desired Outcome

I would like $250.00 reimbursed to me due to the damage and loss of items.

Safebound Moving & Storage Response • Nov 05, 2019

While we do understand that any damages that occur during a move may be upsetting, unfortunately accidents do happen. We looked into your file and do see that you chose the waiver of full protection and signed off on the lower released value which comes at no additional cost with the move. Those documents have been attached. That option releases your shipment to a maximum value of sixty cents per pound per article. The reason it took so long to get your claim is on 9/25 past the allowed to file a claim time you reached out to CSI to add the boxes, and although we did not have to, as a courtesy we allowed them to include the boxes in the claim. While we understand this is not the monetary amount you were looking for, it is the level of protection chosen on your move documents. We send every customer that has damage through the claims process rather than just issuing a credit, it's a standard practice in the industry.

Customer Response • Nov 06, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We were not aware we "waived" anything. It was properly explained that we were using a moving company and weren't insured for our goods unless we opted for additional coverage to protect it. It's not like I am familiar with moving regulations. I relied on a company that I thought would stand by and honor their move across state.

Nelson and his team from SB made moving day simple and stress free! The guys did an exceptional job and were very cautious with the TV, mirror and other fragile items. The job was completed very professionally and in a timely manner.
