We are aware of the unfortunate incident that occurred with [redacted] 's vehicle. We apologize for any inconvenience that she has experienced. However after an investigation of the incident by us and our insurance company we are unable to take responsibility for 2...

reasons. The first being it is an industry standard for all dual rear axel vehicles to return for a torque check after service. We ask that our customers with these vehicles return at 25 miles after service and again at 500 miles. The rear wheels on these types of vehicles are notorious for coming loose. The store made Ms. [redacted]  of this procedure and she acknowledges that she did not return for the first re-torque and planned on coming in for the second mileage torque check though she was over the mileage for that check as well.  The second reason is we are not the last party to touch the vehicle. Ms. [redacted] had stated that another shop did an inspection on the vehicle after we serviced it and she had assumed that they checked the torque for her. Also during to inspect the brakes on that type of vehicle, the rear wheels on at least one side would need to be removed.  So with that said though we do apologize for the issue Ms. [redacted] experienced with her truck however we are unable to take responsibility for the issue. I am rejecting this response because:I responded through the Better Business email, requesting a specific resolution from Town Fair Tire.  I received no communication from Town Fair.  I have now had to spend another hour on this matter.I purchase four tires from Town Fair.  Free flat repair was included with all four tires.  I wish to receive my $7.95 back, plus free tire repair on all four tires for as long as those tires last.  I don't want to TALK with anyone from Town Fair.  I don't want to visit the Town Fair store and have to deal with their employees.  You can send the promised letter to me in the mail AND the refund check.  I would like to review the letter before you just send it out.this time I won't drop my complaint until the letter and check are in hand.I would also like to be compensated in some way for all of the time that I have spent to resolve this, in particular the time I've spent filing the second complaint due to the fact that Town Fair did notfollow through on the resolution that it offered to me.

To Whom It May Concern;This is the first this office has heard of this issue. We apologize for the [redacted] inconvenience. We are required to follow the RMA (Rubber Manufacturer's Association) guidelines when repairing tires. This if for both safety and warranty purposes with the...

manufacturer. These guidelines limit the repair area to the flat tread area and the size of the repaired damage to a 1/4 of an inch in diameter. Any damage in the shoulder block area cannot be repaired or is larger than the 1/4" in diameter. I have attached a copy of the poster we have displayed in store that guidelines and procedures. At this point we will gladly reimburse Mr.Beaulieu for his repair and additional for the inconvenience for a total refund of $50.00. There
are three different types of alignments the first being the alignment we give
for free with the purchase of tires which is a front wheel alignment or
centerline alignment. This was the only...

alignment available at the time when we
started doing alignments over 35 years ago we offered it for free then and
still do today. With this alignment the computer draws an imaginary line down
the center of the vehicle and aligns the two front wheels according to that. As
time went on the alignment machines got better and the way the vehicles were
made got better as well so we are able to take more measurements off of the
vehicle and make more adjustments to the vehicles the manufacturers came out
with the thrust angle alignment. This alignment takes the measurements off of
the rear wheels and aligns the front wheel according to how the rear sits.
Since this alignment involves more measurements and adjustments than the
centerline alignment we charge $49.00 for it. 
Now there are vehicles that require a 4 wheel alignment. With this
alignment we align the rear wheels first and then align the front wheels
according to how the front wheels sit. We charge $49.00 for this alignment as
well. The [redacted] Fit takes a 4 wheel alignment however [redacted] could have done just the free front wheel alignment if he wished. This should have been explained at the time of service. I am rejecting this response because: Unfortunately that statement regarding the policy on  mounting wheels purchased elsewhere is not accurate.  The clause referenced was added to the site after this complaint was lodged and appears to contradict what is stated on the previous paragraph on that same page and what I have been told previously from town fair tire employees when purchasing tires from them. per the website:  [redacted]"It's almost the winter season and that means it's time to swap out your summer or all-season tires for reliable winter tires. As a valued customer at Town Fair Tire, you are entitled to our free lifetime winter tire changeover service.  Whether you buy your tires with us or not, this service is still completely free for you." The sentence that was just recently added to their site states: (excludes New Tires and / or Wheels not purchased from us) How does this newly added clause align with the previous statement "whether you buy your tires with us or not"

This is regards to Complaint ID: [redacted] I accepted the business owners' resolution. The business owner has failed to follow through on his proposed resolution. I have not received a check, nor have I received the promised letter.

I am rejecting this response because: I had to make 3 more trips to the Vernon Town Fare Tire 1st) to have the correct tires and different rims put on from the first mess up, however when I arrived, the wrong tires were ordered(the wrong ones were ordered,2nd) to have the correct ones put on after they were ordered by the store manager Chris, and 3rd)after having the new tires, the "service tire pressure monitoring system" lights were on. When I brought it back to get fixed it took them a long time because they couldn't figure out how to fix it. Finally after spending 13 hours total in TFT 4 different times, the tires seem to be good. I never received a refund and was also told by Chris that I would be getting a refund for the inconvenience of having to keep coming back which I have not seen. Chris was very good and I have no complaints about him or his staff, it's the rediculous amount of time, gas, frustration and stress of running back and forth that I hope no one else has to go through. It would also have been nice to receive a follow up call after the last appointment to make sure I am satisfied with the new tires. Had they done that I would not have rejected this solution because I could have told them instead of writing this.

Mr. [redacted] when he was taken in and offered an appointment if the wait was too long.. The associate should have also taken into account for the appointments when he gave the estimated wait time. We have addressed this with the store to prevent  again in the future. Mr. [redacted] had also emailed us directly and responded to his concerns. We are sending him a $50.00 [redacted] card as we had promised him to the address he provided.
