We have been using Shavitz for a few years now and have always had a positive experience. Their phone reps and dispatchers are always polite and helpful. Their service technicians always take the time to explain things carefully and in terms that are understandable to the layman.
When I learned at 11 p.m. that my mother's furnace had gone out and knowing that the temperatures were going to drop below zero overnight, I immediately called the Shavitz 24 hour service and soon enough, technician Bradley [redacted] was there to make everything right before the next day had dawned, what a relief! He was knowledgeable, thorough, professional, personable and most importantly, he diagnosed the problem with our rather complex steam boiler, got the furnace running again that night, and returned a few days later to replace the part that had failed. He was very good at explaining the issues and what we needed to do to safely maintain the unit also. In the future, I will be sure to ask for him when and if we need further service from Shavitz.
Had a new furnace, air conditioner and humidifier installed by Ernie L and Miguel. The work was done on time, and to a high standard of excellence. Ernie gave me a great overview of how the system is now set up, what all of the various parts and features are, how they work, how to access things, how to do my own basic maintenance, the safety features of the new system - everything. They were extremely courteous, everything was cleaned up very well at the end of the day and at the end of the job. These guys were true professionals. I would highly recommend this company to any of my friends who required an honest assessment of their current heating and A/C system, and professional workmanship for the install. I definitely will use them for routine maintenance. They have earned my trust and respect.
I have used Shavitz H & AC to service our two furnaces and AC for more than 10 years and they have always done wonderful work at a reasonable price. They worked with the manufacturer when I had work done under warranty. They never push to do additional work and explain any problems they find. When we needed AC repair during hot weather with an ill family member they came quickly to do the repair.
My most recent encounter was maintenance on the furnaces on 1/25/16 by Chris G.

Overall, we are very satisfied with the work performed by Shavitz. The initial proposal differed in a few details from the work ultimately performed, but the on-site technicians explained and justified their deviations in a convincing and transparent manner. There remain some outstanding insulation issues that were not discovered until the end of the project and remained outside the scope of the original proposal. Our installation specialists were consistently courteous and professional. Our HVAC is performing much more reliably and effectively since Shavitz overhauled the system.
Thank you to Cosmin and Randall for their great service. They found a problem with our furnace and took care of it promptly and pointed out what we could do to have more efficient air flow. Thank you, Shavitz!
Regarding Cornelius *., who serviced my air conditioning unit today. Cornelius arrived early into the time reserved for the servicing, and was courteous and professional. He wore shoe covers while in the house. The A/C was not blowing cold, because the compressor unit (outside) would not start. I had checked power available to the compressor (i.e., the circuit breakers inside the house were shut, and the fuses to the unit outside the house were checked satisfactory).
Cornelius inspected the solenoid switch unit and found that an insect had fried itself between the contacts. He replaced the unit, then tested it, and took a couple of readings inside the house. The job was completed quickly and efficiently.
Manny and Mirek from Shavitz Heating and Air Conditioning installed a new air conditioner yesterday. They were extremely professional, careful and protective of the floors, etc., and did a very good job. Could not have been more pleased. Have been using Shavitz for years and will continue to do so.
Mike and Tom did an excellent job installing our new water heater system. Cornelius, Ken and Linda also aided in the diagnosing, quoting, and scheduling of this large job (respectively), and were a pleasure to work with...
Shavitz Heating and AC are top notch. I was able to set everything up them by email which was super helpful for me. Also, they seemed to be the only company in the area that would work on radiant heating. (old radiators)

With Cornelius' 3rd visit to our house, in Servicing our Air Conditioner in early June. Cornelius is the pinnacle of performance. He did superb, unique unlike any other HVAC tech we ever seen :). Immediately, you could tell right a away "Wow, how breathtaking jaw dropping work,". He is very competent, Expert and knowlegable professional & most importantly passionate in what he does. What amazed is the efficiency in the amount of time to complete the job under an hour. Unlike a other HVACs like A&A 4 Seasons, they're left to dust from the unpleasant experience. There is nothing better than Shavitz, as the world's best. When Dependability and Reliablity matters count on Shavitz.

Was very easy to schedule, I've worked with Shavitz for years and know a lot of the staff. Very helpful. Andrew was great, give me tips on my ductless a/c, which is relatively new for Chicago area.
Amazing company! Very helpful and quick to respond. I had a minor gas leak at my place. I was nervous about the whole situation but they guided me through out the process. They sent someone immediately on a Saturday, in the evening, to take care of the leak. Within an hour they were able to replace some pipes and fix some of the tubing. I would highly recommend this company!
Andrew did an excellent job on my fall service. He's very knowledgeable, caring, and helpful. He takes the time to thoroughly explain each step along the way and it's greatly appreciated.
Had a servicing appointment today for two furnaces. Technician arrived promptly and completed the tune-ups in a timely manner. Asked me to renew the maintenance program and scheduled the AC tune-ups but not in a pushy way and did not upsell me on any additional services or upgrades.
