The courses are insightful...but mine didn't seem to be live. You can't actually ask the professor questions like they say you can. Content wise, ignoring the live issue, the courses are great. But you can't look at just that. C+ for courses
Let's talk a little about Shaw themselves. They're not "scammers" scammers but the business practices they exhibit are questionable. They don't tell you it costs $30US to take the final assessment for each Module (Graphic Design, for example, has four eight-class modules, similar to semesters in the US.) They don't tell you it costs $50US to take the final exam. That's on top of the $50US to get the hard copy of your diploma at the end. If they told you about the costs up front or just went ahead and charged you for this before taking the course, it'd be better but no. This gets an F.
The support team gets an absolute, unflinching F. I realize time zones are a thing here, as Shaw is in Ireland and I'm in the US, but the team in the US in Wilmington should also be able to answer support emails. Time zones aren't an issue here.

Sell it! Each lesson is almost one hour and only one thing is covered. It is stretched out so that it is an hour class. Their chat to be able to ask questions doesn?t work. I got emails saying that I missed my class when I didn?t. Terrible customer service and definitely a hoax. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Shaw Academy has taught me more about photography in one week than I had ever expected. The lessons are fun, well done and are packed full of easy to understand knowledge, I would recommend the Shaw Academy Photography course to anyone wanting to go to the next step in photography!!
I'm a marketing student and an ad from Shaw Academy for a digital marketing dilploma came up on my instagram. They advertise a free 4 week trial to take marketing classes. They take your card or PayPal information the moment you sign up for the trial. The moment you sign up they unauthorized and automatically charge your card $60 dollars.
They don?t have a phone number to contact, their email address is impossible to find. They take days to respond and each to time they refuse to refund you because they claim that they?ve already transferred services to you.
I have proof of immediately canceling my membership after the unauthorized charges and proof I was never provided or used any of their services.
Yet they refuse to refund me.
This is whole ?help your education? advertisement is an absolute scam.
They?ll just take your money with no authorization or service.
The entire website is vague. The moment you sign up for a class. It has two links for a module and toolkit (turns out the moment you click on those links it charges you)
And because you click on those links they cannot refund you lol
I love the class and the way the teachers I learn something new everyday. The only thing I don?t like is you have to purchase the toolkit alone with the $40 membership fee. Every class each module has a 29.99 toolkit. It?s very expensive
I love the classes, but am disappointed that you have to upload photos via Facebook. I do not do Facebook, so I will not be purchasing any further lessons. This is unfortunate because I believe the classes are legit.
Informative, clear, interesting, easy to understand. I liked how the reasons for the market and the reasons for different types of offerings was explained, along with the detail on the various instruments
I am currently enrolled in the Graphic Design course, and I love the course itself. Unfortunately, I have been mischarged twice. Once I was told I could not have a refund. I did get the materials the purchase was for tho. The second time (most recent) I purchased the e-certificate to unlock my last assignment for that module in-app. I was charged but still couldn't access the last assignment. I then tried again but was prompted by my phone/iTunes that it was a duplicate purchase and couldn't be authorized. I then reached out to Shaw multiple times over the course of a few days. Both via email and the chatbot on the online dashboard. I haven't heard back from them. I finally reached out to Apple and they refunded me the money. I ended up purchasing the e-certificate on the website. I do not recommend doing anything but watching replays via the app. It is extremely glitchy, unreliable, and unpredictable. I love the concept and the opportunities they offer, but I feel they have a lot of kinks to work out still.
I just joined with free trial and literally accidentally hit something in the app and it charged me $30 bc its a one time click purchase. NO ONE DOES THIS AND IT IS VERY WRONG!!!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK but more than that, to make sure everyone else knows. I emailed to ask to cancel bc their site is HORRIBLE and impossible to take a class on but also to get a refund and they told me I couldnt get a refund for because I had already clicked on whatever I bought. I STILL DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT WAS THAT I PURCHASED BC I NEVER FOUND IT AND IT ALSO KEPT ASKING ME TO PURCHASE IT AGAIN!!! I cannot believe they refused my refund. I am furious. Please do not do business with these people.
Great content on the Graphic Design class! Simple and easy to understand and implement. Web design course is more web development and coding, but learning a lot.
Registered with ease, I'm studying with convenience and most importantly, the lecture is very explicit and detailed. I'm having an amazing time studying at Shaw Academy. Plus my guidance councillor is amazing.
I love this course because it meets my style of learning to a T. The Instructor is very knowledgeable and explains in details that is easy to understand and follow!
