Shelor Motor Mile, Inc. Reviews (167)

Everything was excellent in all aspects ! Extremely SATISFIED of the service and Shelor personnel.

Review: I purchased a vehicle from Shelor motor in January of this year. I knew it was a used vehicle and told the sales person specifically that while I was there to purchase a vehicle, I did not want a vehicle that had been in an accident. The vehicle that I ended up purchasing was sold to me after the sales person said that it had never been in an accident. I have made numerous repairs to the safety systems and now the power train of the vehicle at my own expense after purchasing the car, all things that Shelor would cover if I still lived in their area according to them. Several mechanics have now told me that the vehicle, a 2009 Chevy Impala, has been in a serious front end collision and has already had major repairs. I now need to continue spending money on the vehicle to repair it (the entire front axle needs to be replaced) and continue paying full price for a vehicle that is not nearly worth the value that Shelor knowingly sold it to me for as a previously damaged vehicle. I obtained a CARFAX report stating the vehicle has been in a previous accident that Shelor failed to disclose. I paid the full KBB price for the vehicle that I was told by Shelor had never been damaged despite my statements that I did not want a car that had been in an accident. They have sold me a lemon of a car that I have had to repair at my expense.Desired Settlement: Shelor will take possession of the vehicle at their cost and hold me harmless of any damages or further expenses, and provide a refund of half of the value I have paid for it to date ($2,200) since purchasing it in January. Shelor will change its policy to provide full disclosure at their cost to all potential buyers with a CARFAX report, not the current company they use which does not provide the aforementioned full disclosure. A company that I believe is also a subsidiary of Shelor Motor.

Response:

I returned the call yesterday and ended up in their phone cue on hold for longer than I had time to wait. I also advised her to call me back later in the day as I was in a meeting at the time of the call, she could have easily done that, however its "The customers fault" that the call didn't get returned. Shelor Motor asked that I provide them with documentation on the repairs I have already made to the vehicle. After consulting an attorney I was advised that I do not need to submit to them proof that the vehicle they sold me has had other repairs at my expense, that I have a different accident report or any of the other items they requested. Shelor also stated to me on the phone that they can not "Approve someone else to repair the vehicle because they have no proof the mechanics are certified." Again after the discussion with my attorney; If they were willing to deal in good faith and cover the repairs they simply could have told me to take it to the closest GM Dealership, ALL OF WHOM HAVE CERTIFIED GM MECHANICS, and had the repairs completed at their expense. According to my attorney this is nothing more than a tactic for Shelor not to have to service the vehicles they sell if no longer in their area. While not illegal, it is a way for car dealers to sell used, previously damaged vehicles, at a profit, with little risk of being called out on their poor behavior. At this point I can no longer get along without the vehicle so I am repairing at my own expense, but I'm going to do it myself to keep the cost at a minimum. Once repaired I will sell the vehicle and pay off the debt. Warning to all future buyers, do not buy from Shelor, they do not deal in good faith.Regards,[redacted]

Review: On Saturday, August 24, 2013, I took my car, a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer purchased from Shelor Motor Mile, into the service department and had two tires replaced. On the way home I noticed the car handled remarkably different and the traction control light started coming on at odd times. I took the car back requesting they review the work and tires placed on the car to ensure everything was done properly and the tires they installed were not faulty. They informed me that it would cost $90.00 to have a mechanic review the work they had done.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my car checked by a Mitsubishi Certified Technician to ensure that the warning light on the dash is not being caused by the work they performed. I simply want to know that the tires they put on my car are not faulty and that they were balanced and installed with the proper specifications.

Contatcted customer 8-29-13, 11:10am. Customer explained vehilce not handling right and traction control light coming on since 2 tires were replaced at dealer on Saturday, 8-24-13. Explained to customer he needed 4 tires but only had 2 replaced. The vehicle now has 2 tires with full tread and 2 tires with barely any tread, will cause both issues. Customer is not satisfied with this explanation and wants vehicle re-checked for no charge. Agreed to have customer bring vehicle and drive with Service Manager to determine if any other issue other than what was explained to him exists. We will not charge for this. Customer stated can not come until next week. Mr. [redacted] to call me Tuesday morning 9-3 to set up time to bring vehilce for test drive with Servie Manager. [redacted] Customer Relations Manager

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.Regards,[redacted]

I have currently been a customer of motor mile select since feb. 2012. The only complaint I have is with their customer service. If there is a problem and you call them they want to put all the focus on you like your to blame.Example, I tried to make my payment using their automated service after trying several times and it saying that it could not be processed I called cars financial. Instead of them saying oh I'm sorry to hear your having problems let me help you, they wanted to point the finger at me like it was my fault THEIR system want working. Or like I was doing something wrong. Their first response to me was "We haven't had any other complaints from anyone" OK then I'm sorry no one else is having a problem. You see I think they were trying to get more money from me since its only a 3.50 fee using the automated system but a 5.00 fee if they do it. They would not only charge me the 3.50,they wanted to charge me the 5.00 fee. Why should I be ripped off and punished if their system was not taking my payment???????? Oh and I figure after they read this they will be calling and trying to blame me again by saying I never make my payments on time, BUT HEY THERE IS A 7 DAY GRACE PERIOD and with the way the economy is I sometimes have to take advantage of that grace period, but they always get paid.

I had a very pleasant experience with the Shelor Service department, as usual. They are always kind and helpful no matter how busy they are. The quality of the work is great. I have never had a problem with the quality of service I receive at Shelor. The staff and service are stellar.

Positive
