Let me tell you of my recent experience with Ship Your Car Now (SYCN) and you decide if you would use them
I bought a car (a Lagonda) from a person in Connecticut and SYNC quoted $2,to ship the car, in an enclosed transporter, to California When loading the car the strap broke, the car rolled back and the rear wheel hit and damaged the sellers garage door After this initial set back the car was on its way in an enclosed transporter (or so I assumed, I was wrong)
When the transporter and my car arrived in my home town I arranged to meet the driver, who was with a company called CFR Auto Direct and (first surprise) the car was on an open trailer and (second surprise) the driver refused to unload the car unless I paid him $in cash (or gave him a bank certified check) as this was his fee for transporting the car from a warehouse in New York to California All of this was news to me I had no choice but to pay up as I did not want my $80,convertible to spend any more time on an open trailer behind a dually truck The third unwelcome 'surprise' was when my credit card statement arrived and SYCN had charged my credit card on four separate occasions for a total of $6, I immediately called my credit card company who cancelled all charges except the one agreed upon for $ The credit card company cancelled my credit card to stop any further random charges The incorrect payments were corrected by SYCN so I need not have cancelled my credit card
To sum up: During loading, my car collided with a garage door; my credit card was billed $(not the $that was agreed); I also paid $to CFR Auto Direct for transporting my car on an open trailer from New York to California
So what was the $for?
