They've promised the discount, but didn't deliver. The billing was a mess and the customer service was unreachable. Please DO NOT sign up. It doesn't worth the hustle. I deeply regret of the switch. Now I'm left with large amount incorrect bills that no one can explain. The monthly charges were clearly auto drafted from my checking account, but were not credit to my [redacted] account. DO NOT make the same mistake I made!!

Review: I received a call from [redacted], a male with a heavy [redacted] accent advised that he was calling regarding my energy account and he was informing me that I would receive a discount on my bill over the next 2 mos. I asked how he had my Cell#. He began to talk over me. I asked 2-3xs before he stated he was going by his list. He advised me that I was getting a discount within 1-2 bill cycles and I would see a difference in my energy bill. I asked him what discount and from what company he was from. Due to the accent and rapid speech it sounded like [redacted]. I asked him if this was a sales call and was told it was an "informative call" about the discount. I had to stop the conversation and ask: If, he was from [redacted]. He said he provides energy to [redacted] who provides energy to me and that there would be no changes to my bill just the discount. I asked what discount. I havent authorized any changes? He responded no changes were made to my account and due to de-regulation of the energy companies I was eligible to receive the discount. I asked if this was a sales call and he said it was an informative call. I asked what company he was from and he admitted Smart One Energy. I asked, if he was an energy supplier but not actually [redacted]. He finally agreed. He began talking rapidly about receiving a discount. I stopped and asked if he was selling a service. He finally agreed he was. I advised I am NOT authorizing to be switched to another company and any discount or changes. I am reporting this for several reasons: #1) the rep was attempting to Slam my account away from [redacted] with misleading statements. #2) had I been hard of hearing I would have assumed I was speaking to [redacted] and would have accepted the discount. #3) I am a Utility worker (non-energy) and work in a sales call center. This sales call was stepping over a line of honesty versus dishonesty. I feel this company should be reprimanded for inappropriate and misleading sales.Desired Settlement: This is for Revdex.com information only . Review: I was recently contacted from a collection company for my gas company regarding a house I sold last year. After contacting the gas company they say that "Smart One Energy" claims I used there services from Jan. 2014-Apr. 2014.

I have never responded to any mail or agreed over the phone to switch to Smart One Energy. I remember them calling, being very pushy on the phone, and me declining. They used agressive sales tatics and overseas phone operators, which made it seem scammy to me and I always declined. I can remember them insisting and questioning why I would not want to save 10% and me hanging up on them.

Now I have a bill in collections for $42 for something I never agreed to? This business is a sham and should be reported to the FCCDesired Settlement: remove collection for payment of service I never agreed or was contracted into, and to which I declined numerous times!

Review: Received an evening phone call. The woman caller started out by stating she was a rep for [redacted] and she was giving me a discount rate on my gas bill. She spoke rapidly and unclearly. So I asked if she worked specifically for [redacted], she replied yes she worked for a company representing [redacted]. When I told her I was writing down her comments she hung up.Desired Settlement: I want the company to stop making misleading statements.

Review: I received a call and the caller stated that I qualify for a discount on my gas bill from [redacted]. They ask me to confirm my acct number and the discount would be applied to my next bill. I ask them again if they were [redacted] and if anything would change with my billing. They stated they were [redacted] and nothing would change to my bill other then the discount applied. I believe they are misleading and claiming to be a company they are not. I them called [redacted] and they informed that Smart One is a third party gas company. This company was very misleading and deceiving! I have NO intention on switching my gas company to Smart One! I want to keep my current provider and at no time was it expressed that excepting this discount would start a contract with this Smart One company.Desired Settlement: I want to remain with [redacted]. I DO NOT AGREE TO A CONTRACT WITH SMART ONE.

Review: Daily calls requesting to switch our natural gas provider to them. For two months I have asked to be placed on their Do Not call list and they still call daily. Only today, after pretending to be interested in the service was I able to get the name of the company, Smart One Energy. I requested an email or web address and was told only after they switch my provider can they give me the information. Then, he stated, " Smart One Energy is an escrow company for [redacted] and we are going to switch you to our service and there will be no problems. Is that okay?" I stated "Absolutely not may I..." He hung up.

The caller ID was "Private Caller"Desired Settlement: Cease and Desist immediately!

Review: On June **, 2014, I was contacted by phone, from an individual claiming to represent [redacted] ([redacted]), my current utility provider. This individual told me I was eligible for a discount program with [redacted] called "Smartone" based on my good credit standing with [redacted]. When I requested more information about this program the rep became very aggressive and stated that he needed my account number in order to enroll me. Although I had concerns, I gave it to him based on him having my other info such as name, address and phone number. It wasn't until I received a letter from [redacted], dated July *, 2014, telling me that I am responsible for a termination fee due to moving to another utility provider, that I realized what happened. I contacted [redacted] to reverse the action and then learned that Smartone Energy was another utility provider altogether, and not a rep of [redacted] relating to a "discount program" at all. I then contacted Smartone Energy on July *, 2014 (today) to speak to someone about this and to request they remove my name from their records and to never contact me again. During this call the person on the phone started to argue with me and stated I didn't know what I was talking about, also very aggressive and hostile. The issue is: consumers are being tricked into moving to another utility provider with out their knowledge due to the unethical business practices and misrepresentation by Smartone Energy representatives, causing possible financial impact on the consumer. It must be stopped. Also, I looked at blogs on the internet and there are many posts from individuals who experienced the same tactics from this company.Desired Settlement: Smartone Energy should be fined, or penalized in some way, to ensure they cease and desist with their current business practices. An email from the Revdex.com providing any such action, to me, would be acceptable, if this is possible. Otherwise, an email from Revdex.com explain a course of action is acceptable.

Review: This company called me and claimed they were connected with my current Gas company Washington Gas and that I was authorized a discount. They are not affiliated with Washington gas and I want my contract with them cancelled. My service with smart one energy has not started. I have tried to call and no one ever answers.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of account with smart one energy and account with Washington gas restored.

Review: I have tried numerous times to call , email and look up their web page and they basically do not exist. They have numerous complaints against them. Misrepresented their company as legitimate and they are far from it!!!Desired Settlement: And ... Review: A representative called and said she was from Washington Gas and that I qualified for a promotion for a 10% discount and I wouldn't have to pay a bill for the next 2 months. I asked if this promotion would change the terms of my account and she said no. I go through a 3rd party company name Xoom, that contacted me and said my account had been terminated. I informed them that I didn't terminate the account. I contacted Washington Gas and they said they aren't doing any promotions and advised me to call Smart One Energy. I had never heard of this company. Washington Gas gave me a number for Smart One Energy that was disconnected or changed ###-###-####. Xoom is now requiring me to pay a $150 termination fee. I am trying to negotiate this with them but I am highly disappointed that I was scammed and Washington Gas says they have nothing to do with it.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund of $150 if I cannot negotiate something with Xoom. I would also like to make sure that Smart One Energy is not able to switch my account once I change my service provider.

Review: In late February, I was contacted by a person claiming to be [redacted] representative and offered discount in my bill in light of other providers entering the market in my area. After a month I got a letter from [redacted] stating that I requested "Smart One Energy LLC" to be my natural gas provider and if I do not rescind my contract, they will take over as my new provider. When I tried to cancel my account with them, they said given I did not reach out to them within 10 days I will be charged for the first month bill. To begin with, I did not consent to such agreement and this is an unethical marketing practice that should be regulated. This company practice is very shady from my experience and providers beware to avoid this kind of call.Desired Settlement: This kind of practice should be regulated and a clear agreement should be signed between the provider and customer before starting such a contract. Also customer should be given the ability to cancel without these kind of fine print limitations (i.e. 10 days notice).

Review: The company called my fiancee and asked for the gas account information for my apartment and promised a discount on out gas bill. My fiancee thought it was [redacted], my local energy provider, and gave them the information. A few days later we received a notice saying that we've been switched to a 3rd party gas provider, which was Smart One Energy. And since then, it has been showing extra 3rd party gas charges on the [redacted] bill in addition to the regular [redacted]'s gas charges every month. Last month the extra charges got pretty high, and the whole thing became really ridiculous because I had to pay more than the amount if I stayed with [redacted] gas, which was NOT as what they advertised, a discount. I called that Smart One energy and requested an immediate cancellation and a full refund of all the extra charges they have charged me. The lady only processed my cancellation request and totally ignored the refund request. I asked again on the phone, and the lady just hanged up.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of the service AND a full refund of all the extra changes that have been made.

Review: Review: I received a call from the company in questions suggesting they would give me a 10% savings on my current gas bill. They then proceeded to rather aggressively push for information about my account, which I foolishly provided. They reassured me that there would be no change in service, and I would continue to receive my bills from [redacted], and simply be getting a discount on said bill.

After getting off the phone and researched the company and found that they often pull this same scam and then switch the service to their own. They assured me they would not be doing this but now I feel like a fool for providing them with the info. Their solicitation was very aggressive and misleading. They called me Friday evening after business hours so after I got off the phone I had no recourse. I'm now stuck waiting until Monday to see what I can do. This is a headache I do not need.

Desired Settlement: I do not want to use their service, nor do I want ANY affiliation with this business. I would like to continue using my current service with [redacted].Desired Settlement: No adjustment to the current [redacted] service. No further contact from SmartOne Energy. Cease and dssist if possible.

Review: Smart one energy has switched my gas supply service from Washington gas to itself under the guise of offering a discount on my existing gas utility service while posing as Washington gas, and stating that my services would still be with Washington Gas. I recently have been receiving higher gas bills and this month received a bill about $400. I started checking all my bills online and discovered that the switch was done in August 2013, after the first two months I see a steep increase in my gas bills. The price per thermal unit charged by smart one energy as compared to Washington gas has been considerably higher($0.98/TH as against $0.66/TH of washington gas), so they are charging me $0.32 extra per thermal unit used, which is a 50% increase in rate compared to washington gas. I have found online and also checked with my neighbors in the area that smart one energy has been switching customers without their knowledge and has been hiking up the rates. When I called washington gas to remove smart one energy I was asked to contact smart one energy as they need smart one energy to send them the cancel confirmation. I called smart one energy numerous times to cancel my service with them and now ([redacted]Ext: [redacted]) they say the transfer will be effective only on the **-march-2014. They accept that they have no contract with me while still denying to switch me back to washington gas effective immediately. When asked why it takes so long I was told Washington gas takes time to transfer and that smart one energy informs them by end of the day they receive the request from the customer. I then contacted washington gas and I was informed that they transfer immediately on intimation from smart one energy and that there is no delay from their side, so obviously smart one energy is making me run around in circles and using delay tactics to make as much money as they can. I am furious with this type of business practice and also frustrated.Desired Settlement: Cancel any contract/agreement with Smart one energy and reinstate my account with Washington Gas, effective the first time I called around (01/**/2014)

Remove Smart one energy as my gas provider. I want them to cease service immediately and have my old provider washington gas reinstated with immediate effect. Refund all the fraudulent(higher charges compared to washington gas) charges collected from me. All consumers should be made aware of their fraudulent practices and smart one energy needs to be penalized.

Review: This company called and taked to me about getting a discount on my bill from [redacted], I was very specific in my questioning them that I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE FROM [redacted] they assured me that I was still going to be [redacted] and that the company is the same. Yesterday I got a letter from [redacted] stating that I approved my billing to be through SMART ONE ENERGY LLC. Review: Smart One Energy LLC contacted and claimed that as Core Transport Agent (CTA) they can procure gas at a much more cheaper rate than [redacted]. However, in the first month of billing (December) we were billed $142 IN ADDITION to our normal gas bill. When we complained to [redacted] they said Smart One is an independent company and they can only discontinue their service agreement as of the following month, so we got a second bill including the Smart One charges, this time an ADDITIONAL charge of $118. Now we have $260 additional payment to make to our usual gas bill. When we contacted the Public Utilities Commission and [redacted], they told us to contact Smart One directly...we have been contacting them for weeks and neither their phone number (###-###-####),nor their website is working ([redacted]).Desired Settlement: We insist that both charges ($142 and $118) be removed from our [redacted] bill immediately.

There have been class action suits against Smart One ([redacted]) ([redacted]), and they should not be allowed to continue defrauding customers. The Public Utilities Commission cannot go on turning a blind eye to such unconscionable practices.

Review: My mother was contacted by by Smart One Energy LLC and told she had the option of switching to them as her natural gas supplier. She repeatedly told them "NO" yet was tricked into a switch. She subsequently received a letter from her gas company that her supplier had been changed to Smart One Energy. Even though I called her company, they told me that they could not keep the "contract" with Smart One from taking effect. I would have to contact Smart One. My mother had no paper work or agreement authorizing a switch. When I attempted to contact them, their website said it was "temporarily unavailable." I am attempting to notify them of this. I will also let her gas company know yet again NOT to accept a switchover. I just hope she will still have gas service come 2/*/16.Desired Settlement: This is for your information regarding Smart One Energy LLC. I also saw that there were several complaints regarding this company online.
