Beware of advertising and unethical sales tacticsI chose Square for my business due to 2.75% flat rate NO SURPRISE and NO HIDDEN COST advertised right on their pricing page - [redacted] - mind you with no fine printsThis is how they lure new customersI got in touch with Sales person and she quoted me moreI obviously decided to not go with the sales rep because the pricing on their website was lowerI went with my older account from back in Sales rep some how found out that I started using my old account and without my knowledge or permission went and bumped up the rates!! I called in and spent hours to get the rate back down and they promised to look into the matter and refund additional money that was charged but so far it hasn't been refundedIf there are any lawyers reading this, happy to lead class action lawsuit against this company as the rates advertised are not what you pay - there are hidden costs

I am a small business ownerMy business is in constructionI deal in very large transactions I have never used credit cards with my customers until recentlyI have had more requests to be able to use credit cardsI bought the square, set it up, followed all the instructions, did the test charge on a card of my own and read over the fees and the days that it takes to move money to your accountI agreed to all of itI then let my first customer charge on their cardIn the sum of 10,And the money was never deposited to my accountAfter the 4th day of waiting, I found a customer service number to callOnce connected, I was told because the amount is so high and I am a business, they need copies of my bank statements and my license and EIN numberMore information then I feel they should need! And information that was never asked for or discussed while I set up the "Square." They told me I had to download copies of it all through their app On my phoneSo I tried and it would not downloadNow the 5th day I call back and explain their app won't except my information and I need the customers money released ASAP so I can begin the construction projectI was told they would email me so I could send copies through email back to themI was then promised that if I got them this information they would release my funds in less then hoursAnd they were very apologetic for the waitSo I did everything they wanted sent them all they needed and got an immediate email stating my information will be under review for business days which at that time they will contact me through email regarding my account this was a FridayI immediately emailed the person I was working with, backExplaining how I feel lied to, tricked and manipulated and that I will be taking my credit card transactions some place else if the matter is not resolved in the hours promisedI received no replyI also tried calling them and was directed to an answering machine stating they were now closed till MondayNow days after my deposit, my funds have still not been released and they have not contacted meI thought this was an easy way to move customer money from their credit card to my bank accountI agreed to the absurd charge amount of 2% no matter how high the charge amount isI agreed to wait days for the transfer, I agreed to send all my private information to them and still my funds are on hold I do not recommend this business if you deal in large transactionsIt seems they make up their rules as they goThey will lie and mislead to get what they wantI am uneasy about the fact that they have 10, they will now not communicate with me about and lied as to when they would release itIf I do not have the funds released Monday, my customer will cancel their transaction and file fraud with their credit card company

Absolutely ludicrous experience thus far with this company, I fear I should have never used these swindlers.So, my account was deactivated, I had only one $charge back I had my account closed, all my money held, as mentioned roughly $7,for daysRough, but whatever, I understand there could be customer charge backs, anyways there was no further charge backs and yet on the day the were to deposit my sales they send an email saying," Due to the recent charge backs on your account, any funds currently in your Square account will be held for an additional daysThank you for understandingSincerely,Square Account Services." I am an Independent Distributor and in some cases need a card processing serviceWell I was having financial issues so I was unable to purchase inventory for many months due to bills piling upI was finally able to buy some inventory this month (12-2016)I had a customer who wanted to get an advanced package valued at dollars, but wanted to pay with CreditI said sure! Well turns out that Square permanently deactivated my card processing service without notice and I am under reviewI guess if we go awol and not use the aervice they boot you out of the systemI tried emailing them twice and as of today I have received no response from themI don't sell products to become rich, I sell because I want others to get healthy as I didI told my client that he can pay me cash in small increments so in the end I sold products and helped out a clientI am very disappointed with this service and asked them to deactivate my account completely since they banned meStill no response! When I just open my business four months ago when I decided at some point to get information from Square apparently this company has took my information banking information and keep charging me although I have no business with them there's no phone to reach them they charge you two bucks per day per week per month nobody can be reached out if the system is set up very scam where their phone number are impossibly calling sending messages this is a scam watch out walk away this company is terrible I'm creating a lawsuit whoever wants to join in can let me know this company is a terrible scan San francisco-based

I have never had dealing with a company's customer service that could offer you no information in resolving your problems. I processed a larger payment thru them. Received the conformation that the payment had been approved but was later notified that they would need to review the transaction and would need 3 months of my bank statements, photo id and other information to do this. I complied and gave them all the information that they asked for and was supposed to receive a reply in 1-2 business day. I received no reply and the funds were not transfered to my account. It wasn't until I called them that they said they could not give me my money. They were not apologetic nor did they give me any explanation for why this was happening. Also they said there was no one I could speak to about it. And that they were putting a limit on my account from here on out of 1 transaction every 90 days. My only option is to refund the money that they were holding hostage. They had no problem charging me a fee to take money from my customer. If they took the time to inform people of their limits ahead of time then it could save headache for everyone. I would have gone somewhere else. Now I have to humiliate myself by letting my customer know what happened and hope that they get their refund swiftly so I can start the process again with a reputable company. Save your self the frustration and humiliation and do not use this company. How do they have an A+ rating with a 92% negative review?!
