"I got the call on spet 26 from starion energy [redacted]. One lady called me from complaints department and she told she can give me one time refund as 25$. When I asked why only 25$ she told I was in variable rate and changed to fix rate from last month so they are going to give me September month  charges alone as refund. I didnt agree for that and she muted me for 5 minutes, she came up with 50$ refund and said cant give more than that. When I asked for the actual 400$ she said they cant give it. When I asked how I was set up in variable rate ,they said I said YES for that in their [redacted] options when they fished me !!
 
 
When I asked about the documents on that and variable rate /plan documents, she told I need to fill out a form to get that. I never seen such a company , not sending any documents about their plan and rate.  I am not sure how [redacted] works with them!!
 
She finally told that she will be writing to Revdex.com after I said I cant accept the 50$ refund, but she confirmed they waived the 100$ cancellation fee though. "
 
 
And as per the latest business reply today.. I want to know how much they can refund me , its just mentioned that the one time refund will be sent me in cheque but there is no details about the amount!!.

According to Starion’s records, Mr. [redacted] enrolled in the “Starion Simple” monthly variable rate product on April 21, 2014. Starion has determined that Mr. [redacted] has been charged for...

supply correctly in accordance with his agreement. The product in which the account was enrolled included a variable rate subject to fluctuate monthly based on market conditions.
Starion has no record of the customer contacting Starion’s customer service department regarding his account.
A representative from Starion’s compliance department attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] on September 17, 2014 to further discuss his concerns and left a voicemail. As of September 23, 2014, Starion has yet to receive a response.
The customer’s account is scheduled to end service with Starion on October 9, 2014.

A representative from Starion’s compliance department attempted to contact [redacted] to discuss their concerns on several occasions, including on August 14, 2017, August 16, 2017, and August 22, 2017, but was unsuccessful. Voicemails were left requesting callback; however, as of...

August 24, 2017, Starion has not received a response from the Consumers. Starion’s records show [redacted] account was charged for supply correctly in accordance with her Agreement. Additionally, upon receipt of the complaint, Starion cancelled her account. As a result, her account is scheduled to end service with Starion on or about September 5, 2017.Starion makes every effort to review and appropriately resolve consumer complaints. The Company believes that a reasonable effort has been made to reach out to [redacted] in an attempt to resolve their concerns. Starion has reviewed the Consumer’s account. The Consumer followed the
procedures for cancelling her service appropriately in accordance with the
expiration of her fixed rate plan agreement; however, due to a unique billing
error, the...

Consumer was billed at an incorrect rate per kilowatt hour for the
final cycle. Accordingly, Starion has calculated an adjustment of the Consumer’s
final charges to reflect the correct amount and will refund the Consumer for
the difference. Starion contacted the Consumer by telephone today, February 13,
2015, and left a voicemail explaining the issue and the Company’s resolution.

A
representative from Starion’s compliance department spoke with [redacted] on February
15, 2016 regarding her complaint. At that time, [redacted] accepted Starion’s
efforts to resolve her complaint as a satisfactory resolution to her concerns.

I am rejecting this response because: The response of Starion is a lie.  I was contacted repeatedly in the following weeks, prompting the filing of my complaint.  Specifically, I was contacted twice on 6 March 2017 in both the morning and evening - final call was on 6 March 2017 at 5:07 PM EST.  After "talking" with the Starion tele-harasser, I filed this complaint.  Their assertion that they never contacted me after my initial complaint to Starion Customer (dis)Service is false.

I would highly recommend that Starion make changes to there renewal strategies. It would be better for the  consumer if Starion was forced to get a reply on renewal instead of just switching plans with out any input from the customer.

I am very disappointed with Starions response.  If I misunderstood their recording (that if I responded a certain way the sales person would come back on the line and tell me that I needed to respond differently)  so I called Starion on Aug 11th after receipt of the confirmation letter and spoke with [redacted] (when I saw I was going to be charged $9.97 which was news to me) he told me that would replace the transmission charge from [redacted].   Pointing out it was still a better deal. 
If Starion did try to contact me on October 14th, I do not have an answering machine but was home  at 2:15 and home all night and never got a call.  So, no of course they did not get a return call.   
In conclusion, if I misunderstood their recordings and responses to those questions, that is on me, but when I spoke with a customer service person to clarify the charge that I was not told about and he nicely explained it to me.....clearly misrepresenting information so I would not cancel right then ( which was my intent)....then that is on them.  This is probably why they have these recordings so they can respond feeling they have their bases covered. My issue is with when I spoke with [redacted] and his lies.  
I am very disappointed that Starion did not look deeper into this, nor did I expect them to admit to wrong doing.  In the future maybe they should add a recorded question "and you are aware that signing up with Staion Energy will add $9.97 a moth fee to your electric bill".

It is Starion’s position that Mr. [redacted] has been charged for supply correctly in accordance with his agreement, as stated in its initial response submitted on October 13, 2014.
The product that Mr. [redacted] elected to enroll included a variable rate that was subject to fluctuate based on market conditions. By completing the aforementioned TPV recording, which states he “is enrolling in Starion [redacted], our monthly variable rate product which may change based on market conditions,” Mr. [redacted] confirmed his understanding of the variable rate product.
A representative from Starion’s compliance department attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] on October 9, 2014 and again on October 28, 2014 to further discuss his concerns and left a voicemail. As of October 29, 2014, Starion has yet to receive a response.
Starion will issue the customer a one-time courtesy rebate for his September 2014 billing cycle. A check will be sent to the customer within 5 to 10 business days.
Based on the foregoing, Starion has determined a good-faith effort was made in an attempt to resolve Mr. [redacted]’s concerns.
