I recently decided to go back to school at Strayer University. I had to receive a UEH REVIEW WHICH I DiDNT MIND I SENT IN MY UNCLES OBITUARY AND PREGNANCY INFORMATION WHICH WAS VERY HARD AND EMOTIONAL FOR ME JUST TO GET A EMAIL SAYING THEY NEED PROOF HE IS MY UNCLE. What? I am already emotionally messed up that I have to share all my personal information and now this? Asking for all birth certificates linked back to my uncle. RIDICULOUS so now on top of everything I'm going through just to get help you want me to call my cousins and say hey I need your dead dads birth certificate because my school doesn't believe me. Or while I'm at it maybe I should call planned parenthood and ask for my babies a[redacted] documents. Smh I've been sending in documents every week and it's still not enough.

To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for forwarding case # [redacted] on behalf of [redacted]. Initial investigation showed that Mr. [redacted] was Multi-Quarter Registered for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 quarters on May 14, 2014 and there is email documentation of the Multi-Quarter Registration...

which was emailed as confirmation to Mr. [redacted]
Mr. [redacted] submitted Case #[redacted] through the Strayer University system in which Mr. [redacted] states in the case description to drop him from Summer 2014 quarter and he will be continuing into the Fall 2014 quarter. This case was submitted on June 30, 2014, prior to the Summer 2014 quarter.
Mr. [redacted] called and left a voice message with the campus saying that he wanted to drop for the Fall 2014 quarter. A case was created on October 6, 2014, and communication was provided from the Campus Director to Mr. [redacted] after he called the campus back. Again, Mr. [redacted] was registered for Multi-Quarter Registration on May 14, 2014.
Mr. [redacted] requested to drop from Fall 2014 quarter after classes started on October 6, 2014 and is rightly subject to the fees on his account. Below is a breakdown of Mr. [redacted]’s account:
• 10% tuition charge for withdrawing during Add/Drop Week - $142.00 for POL110
• 10% tuition charge for withdrawing during Add/Drop Week - $142.00 for SCI110
• Withdrawal fee for withdrawing from full quarter schedule - $25
In addition, per Strayer policy as stated in the University Student Handbook, I have no basis for requesting an adjustment on his account at this time. The University considers Mr. [redacted]’s outstanding balance of $309.00 to be valid and owing.
Mr. [redacted] can contact his home campus to address any further questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Jennifer

ToWhom It May Concern,Thank you for forwarding case #[redacted]on behalf of [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] attended Strayer University (“Strayer,”“the University”) in the Spring Quarter 2013 for the following two courses:LEG100 and MKT100. [redacted]
[redacted] did not comply with...

the University attendance requirements in the LEG100course and as a result received a Withdrawal/Fail (WF) grade for the course.Attendance was only recorded up to Week 6 and nothing thereafter.  Please note that as per university policy, afterfour consecutive weeks of nonattendance, Ms. [redacted] was administrativelywithdrawn from the course.Ms. [redacted] was eligible for a scholarship of $1000 upon entrance to the university. However, she was deemed ineligible when she dropped the course on 5/29/2013. Asper the scholarship requirements, students had to remain enrolled in a minimumof two courses for the full length of the quarter in order to stay qualified.  Please note that after federal loans and the PELL grant were released to cover hertuition, fees and books, Ms. [redacted] had a remaining balance of $358.54. Thescholarship funding for $1000 was applied to her account, covering the balanceand leaving a credit of $641.46 which was refunded to her on 06/04/2013. Notethat scholarship funding of $1000 was already applied to her account at thetime she dropped the course. When the drop occurred, the money was subsequentlyrevoked, leaving the student with the full balance as owed to the university. On November11, 2014, Ms. [redacted]’s account was sent to collections for nonpayment and shewas charged a $10 Collection Fee, which brought her total outstanding balanceto $1,010.00.As Ms. [redacted]’s balance was incurred in full accordance with stated Universitypolicies, I have no basis for requesting an adjustment on her account at thistime.  The University considers Ms. [redacted]’soutstanding balance of $1,010.00 to be valid and owing.  In addition, per Strayer policy as stated in the University Catalog,“Transcripts cannot be issued for students with prior outstanding balances ontheir accounts.” I strongly suggest that she makeimmediate payment arrangements with the collection agency to avoid furtherdamage to her credit.   Ms. [redacted] may contact [redacted]
[redacted] or her home campus to [redacted]
[redacted] to make payment arrangements. Thankyou,

BUSINESS RESPONSE:
Date Sent: 8/5/2015 12:00:00 AM
Hello [redacted],
Please see the response below for Case ID [redacted] regarding [redacted] that was closed.

To Whom It May Concern,

Thank you for forwarding case #[redacted] on behalf of [redacted] enrolled in two courses at Strayer University (“Strayer,” “the University”) for Fall Quarter 2014: [redacted] and [redacted].  [redacted] was registered on an Financial Aid deferral contract on October 9, 2014, which was after the Fall classes began on October 6, 2014.

[redacted] submitted Case #[redacted] to the university on October 14, 2014 (after Fall classes started) requesting to drop.  The Student Financial Services department advised the student of the drop charges.

[redacted] did not comply with the University attendance requirements in both of her classes as she did not post any attendance for either of the two classes ([redacted] and [redacted]). This resulted in a No-Show (NS) grade for non-attendance, hence the balance on her account.

Because [redacted] had a No-Show in [redacted] and [redacted] as she did not past any attendance; she incurred a No-Show Fee of $250 for each class.  Her total balance was incurred by the following:

$25.00 – Withdrawal Fee
$250.00 – No-Show Fee
$250.00 – No-Show Fee
       +   $10.00 – Collection Fee
$535.00 Total Due

On May 11, 2015, [redacted]’ outstanding balance was sent to collections for nonpayment and she was assessed a $10 Collection Fee.  This brought the total balance due the University to$535.00.  As [redacted]’ balance was incurred in full accordance with University policies, I have no reason to recommend an adjustment on his behalf.

[redacted] may contact the General Revenue Corporation, [redacted], Mason, OH, [redacted], ###-###-#### or Student Financial Services at ###-###-####, to make payment arrangements.

Sincerely,

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I did not request withdrawal after classes had started, I requested before they started. I too have the email documentation, and it does not support Strayer's claims. The fact is Strayer registered me for the Fall Quarter classes without my consent and after I discovered the error I withdrew the next business day.

To Whom It May Concern,
Thank you for forwarding complaint #[redacted] on behalf of [redacted]. [redacted] owed $1510.00 in undergraduate tuition from the Fall 2009 quarter. A collection fee of $10.00 and an extended payment fee of $25.00 was added for the balance from the Fall 2009 quarter....

This balance was in full accordance with State University policies and the University considered the amount of $1545.00 to be valid and owing.
In order to request transcripts, there should be no prior balance on a student’s account. Per Strayer policy as stated in the University Catalog, “Transcripts cannot be issued for students with prior outstanding balances on their accounts.”
On February 9, 2015, [redacted] made a payment over the phone at 2:52 PM, which brought his balance to zero. [redacted] also submitted an Official Transcript Request on February 9, 2015. The form was signed by [redacted] and he indicated the address he wanted the transcript to be sent to.
The transcript was sent to the address that was indicated on the Official Transcript Request form via regular UPS mail on February 24, 2015.
I have reached out to the Registrar’s Office to resend another transcript to the same address as of May 12, 2015 and will be sent next day air. [redacted] should receive his transcript the following day. We have placed a tracking number to confirm receipt of the transcript.
Thank you,
Jennifer

To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for forwarding the rebuttal for case #10536951 on behalf of [redacted]. After reviewing Ms. [redacted]' concern, we reached out to our Instructional Materials department to assist with the additional concerns addressed. They indicated that Ms. [redacted] was using an eBook she purchased from the bookstore for her [redacted] class for the Winter 2015 quarter, which cost $53.67.
Ms. [redacted] was accessing this through her bookstore order history. When the bookstore closed at the end of February, Ms. [redacted] was not able to access the link. However, information was sent in an email that went to the student when the eBook was redeemed which talked about logging into [redacted] to continue using the eBook.
This information was in the Bookstore Frequently Asked Questions under ‘How to: Access eBooks’. The link was provided along with instructions on providing an email address, password and student ID.
The total amount of the eBook was refunded to Ms. [redacted] in the amount of $53.67 which was released to her account on March 19, 2015.
Thank you,
Jennifer

Thank you for forwarding
case#[redacted] on behalf of [redacted]’...

outstanding debt from the
Fall 2011 Quarter in the amount of $2,395.00 was referred to collections on
July 22, 2013.
[redacted] was enrolled in [redacted]
for the Fall 2011 quarter, however; she did not maintain attendance in the
course and as a result, was administratively withdrawn. As per University
Policy, a student is automatically withdrawn after four weeks of consecutive
nonattendance. [redacted] attended from Week 1 to Week 6 and did not attend any
classes from Week 7 to Week 11. At this time, [redacted] was flagged for a
recovery due to the non-attendance. It was determined that she was eligible for
a total of $1,844.00 in subsidized loans for the quarter. Please note that she
signed a Post Withdrawal Disbursement form for this amount. The Disbursement
form gives us approval to disburse the amount to [redacted]’ account. The total
monies disbursed and posted was $1,835.00 after the deduction of processing
fees.
According to the [redacted]
Campus Manager of Student Financial Services, [redacted]’ Winter 2012 balance
was reduced from $3,945.00 to $2,110.00 due to the Fall 2011 quarter
non-attendance.
[redacted] enrolled in [redacted] on
November 10th, 2011 and the registration was finalized on December
10th, 2011. [redacted] did not attend the [redacted] class, which
resulted in a no-show fee of $275.00 for four consecutive weeks of
non-attendance and the resulting administrative withdrawal. The $275.00 is a
total of a $25.00 withdrawal fee and a $250.00 no-show fee. Please note that
the information on no-show/withdrawal fees is outlined in the university
catalog.
As [redacted]’ balance was
incurred in full accordance with stated University policies, I have no basis
for requesting an adjustment on her behalf at this time.  The
University considers [redacted]’ outstanding balance of $2,395.00 to be valid
and payable.  I strongly recommend that she make immediate payment
arrangements with the collection agency to avoid further damage to her
credit.
In addition, per Strayer
policy as stated in the University Catalog, “Transcripts cannot be issued for
students with prior outstanding balances on their accounts.” This means we are
not able to release her transcripts at this time.
Thank you,

To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for forwarding [redacted]’s rebuttal to our response to case # [redacted]. Initial investigation showed that Mr. [redacted] was Multi-Quarter Registered for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 quarters on May 14, 2014. There is email documentation of the Multi-Quarter Registration which was emailed as confirmation to Mr. [redacted] on May 14, 2014 at 4:38 PM, showing his Summer and Fall registered classes. The email that was sent indicated the following:
“Mr. [redacted]: This is to confirm that your registration for Summer/Fall 2014 have been finalized. Please find below the corresponding classes for the registered quarters.”
Mr. [redacted] submitted Case #[redacted] on June 30, 2014, prior to the Summer 2014 quarter through the Strayer University system in which Mr. [redacted] states in the case description to drop him from Summer 2014 quarter and he will be continuing into the Fall 2014 quarter.
An email was sent from Mr. [redacted] on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:06 AM to the Student Support Manager indicating the following:
“I don't know when the next quarter starts, but I'm not going to be attending this quarter. I received an email from one of the Prof so I'm assuming somehow I got registered. Thanks [redacted]”
A response was sent on October 6, 2014 at 1:10 PM from the Student Support Manager to him indicating the following response:
“[redacted],
I have left you the voice message regarding dropping during first week of the quarter as there is a financial/tuition charge of 10%. Please call at XXX-XXX-XXXX to discuss before you submit a case through iCampus. We appreciate your efforts in this matter.”
Mr. [redacted] then called back and left a voice message with the campus stating that he wanted to drop his classes for the Fall 2014 quarter. A case was then created on October 6, 2014 to execute Mr. [redacted]’s request to withdraw him from the Fall 2014 courses. This was relayed to Mr. [redacted] via a phone call from the Campus Director who confirming the withdrawal.
Please note that as described above, Mr. [redacted] requested to drop from the Fall 2014 quarter after the start of the quarter on October 6, 2014 and during the first week of the quarter (Add/Drop Week) and is rightly subject to the fees on his account. Below is a breakdown of the balance on Mr.
The Withdrawal Policy and all applicable penalties are communicated in the University Student Handbook.
As such, I have no basis for requesting an adjustment on his account at this time. The University considers Mr. [redacted]’s outstanding balance of $309.00 to be valid and owing.
Mr. [redacted] can contact his home campus to address any further questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Jennifer

To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for forwarding case #[redacted] on behalf of Cheri Ann
Wollman.  Initial investigation showed
that [redacted] enrolled in two courses at Strayer University (“Strayer,”...

“the
University”) for Fall Quarter 2013: [redacted] and [redacted].  [redacted] requested to drop one of her
classes during Week 2 of the Fall quarter.
As the [redacted] class was dropped per her request the [redacted]
was also dropped during the second week of the quarter, since she was utilizing
financial aid, you needed to have two classes to keep financial aid status.
Her balance was the result of the [redacted] withdrawal ($177.50
tuition) withdrawal fee ($25.00), technology fee ($65.00), automatic drop of
[redacted] ($443.75 tuition), and book charge ($256.52). This brought [redacted]’s
total balance owed to $967.77.
The Office of Student Affairs contacted the Business Office
to review [redacted]’s balance.  In
order to resolve this dispute, the Business Office at [redacted]’s home campus
has agreed to adjust her balance in the interest of customer service.  Following this adjustment, [redacted] will
have a zero balance.
