Review: My 2014 [redacted] Legacy has had problems with acceleration hesitation. From a complete stop or from a yield, I stepped on the accelerator to make it across a hwy and the car had little power. The car rolled a few feet forward (enough to put it on the path of a speeding car). Flooring the accelerator did not do anything. This hesitation lasts between 2-5 seconds and it has been intermittent. This is very dangerous because you never know when the car is going to behave this way.

I contacted Subaru of America via email and a customer rep asked me to take it to the dealer (which I already had, but the mechanic could not reproduce). I took the car to the dealer a second time and drove along with the mechanic.... we could not produce the issue. The mechanic kept trying a few more days, but could not reproduce.

After many emails, Subaru of America offered me $750.00 towards the purchase of a new Subaru. I wrote back and explained that they were not addressing the safety complaint that also affects many other people. SOA called me and told me that I had warranty and if it happens again to take it to the mechanic or have it towed to the dealer.

Since the issue is intermittent and happens thousands of miles apart, it would be almost impossible for the issue to manifest while at the dealer. SOA also does not ask their mechanics to attach any diagnostic equipment to capture valuable data in the event that the issue is reproduced.

Without collecting diagnostic data, they would be guessing as to what the problem is.

My family and I were almost hit by a car going > 60mph trying to cross a hwy. I was almost hit trying to leave my neighborhood. also by a speeding car.

It feels like the car is not downshifting when you come to a stop and when you try to take off, you don't have enough power.Desired Settlement: Subaru of America should revise their protocol for intermittent issues. There are multiple ways that a customer can capture data for the dealer to analyze if they do reproduce the issue.

Since Subaru of America is willing to address the problem until the mechanic can reproduce, I would like to get two years worth of payments applied to the car of my choice (I also trade-in a 2013 [redacted] Impreza that had the same issue).

If they don't want to do this, I would like for SOA to buy my car back.

This is a safety issue that affects not only myself, but many people. They have to take this seriously and find a better way to collect the data and then address the issue.

Review: 2015 Subaru ImprezaPurchase date: 05/18/2015Dealer: [redacted] work has been done by [redacted]'s Service Department. First date of service: 05/26/2015 - 5/29/2015 (3 days)Windows tinted, permaplate added to paint, fabric, leather.Advised air conditioner will intermittently blow warm. Tech tested - found no issues. However, air conditioner still blows warm air.Took vehicle into dealer 6/13/2015 - 06/18/2015 (5 days) and 6/18/15 - 7/2/15 (14 days)Air Conditioner intermittently blows warm.Tech stated vehicle was low on freon, evacuated system, recharged system. I picked up vehicle - drove approximately 4 miles and returned to dealer because the issue was not fixed. Dealer put me back in a loaner vehicle while trying to solve this issue.7/7/15 - 7/27/15 (20 days) took vehicle back to dealer air conditioner is still blowing warm air at intermittent times. Dealer has had vehicle for 45 days out of 99 days of ownership and the air conditioning issue is still not solved.I have had the vehicle into the dealer because during the time frame of 7/7/15-7/27/15 the front bumper was scratched. So I was without the vehicle from 8/3/15-8/11/2015 (8 days). Also during the air conditioning research 6/13-6/18 the front of the stereo was gouged this was replaced. However, this caused another issue with the Satellite radio - dealer had to have tech transfer stereo number with Sirius so satellite would work out of car for another day 8/18/15 and out of XM 6 days. The back window tint was bubbled - I brought that to the service manager's attention - he advised there was a hair in the tint and had it re-tinted. However, once the vehicle came back to me, the side windows were bubbled, with lint under the tint.8/13/15-8/14/15 (1 day) - Tint being redone. After tint being redone again, there are still issues with bubbling. I have not contacted the dealer this time - he asked me to wait 2 weeks, which will be on 8/27/2015.Desired Settlement: Because I have only had possession of the vehicle for 47 days out of the 99 days of ownership and the fact that the air conditioning is still not working properly, I would like Subaru to purchase the vehicle back at the full price I paid, including the options I added to the vehicle.

Review: I have a 2014 Subaru Legacy. The paint is bubbling in several areas on the car. I have contacted Subaru and they are refusing to honor the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on my car. They have not even sent a representative from Subaru to look at my car. The lady I spoke with on the phone was VERY rude. This is ridiculous that a company like Subaru is wanting to get out of honoring their warranty. My car has not been exposed to any chemical or anything that would cause the paint to bubble from the metal out.Desired Settlement: I want my car repainted with a warranty on the paint job or I want my car replaced. I have had this vehicle 1 year and this shouldn't be happening.

Response:

Good Afternoon:Subaru of America has taken steps to review the customer's concern by having the dealership inspect her car and supply our technical department with photos of the affected area of the vehicle. Based on all inspections and reviews it was determined that the customer's paint concern was deemed to be caused by outside influence. The customer does have a bumper to bumper warranty for manufacturer's defects. This has been determined to be caused by outside influence, which would not be something covered by her warranty. Much like if she were to have a accident. It would not be covered under warranty. This has been explained to the customer. In addition, Subaru has offered, as good will to cover 50% of the cost of the repair which was estimated at $2,500.00. Subaru would cover $1,250.00 of that. Alternatively, I had mentioned to the customer that she may wish to explore if her auto insurance company may cover this under her insurance policy. The customer went on to say that she would not want to pay the $750.00 deductible. Subaru informed her that if she chose to go thru her insurance company that we would cover the $750.00 deductible as good will. Both of these options have been supplied to the customer and Subaru is waiting to hear back from her how she would like to proceed. This was as of 7/21/14.Should anyone wish to speak with Subaru further on this matter, I can be reached at [redacted]Regards,[redacted]Sr. Representative East Coast
