In addition, Sun Tan City has contacted Ms. [redacted] by phone and agreed to refund Ms. [redacted] the requested $40.32 in form of a check to the address confirmed by Ms. [redacted]. I have received the complaint from Ms. [redacted] regarding her membership purchase with Sun Tan City.
On March 26th, 2015 Ms. [redacted] purchased a month to month open-ended agreement that allowed her once a day tanning services at our Greeneville location for $39.99 per month plus tax. Per the...

membership agreement that was signed in the salon by Ms. [redacted], all Sun Tan City memberships require at least one automatic payment before the client is able to cancel the membership and there are no refunds for unused services.
On April 4th, 2015 Ms. [redacted] contacted the Client Services Department for Sun Tan City to inquire as to why she was billed for her membership. It was explained at this time that Ms. [redacted] had purchased an open-ended membership agreement and product. At this time Ma. [redacted] requested for her membership to be cancelled and a refund for her required payment. It was explained at this time that per her membership agreement Sun Tan City does not refund for unused services and a Glow Card was offered to Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] declined this offer and disconnected the call. The representative she was speaking with cancelled Ms. [redacted]’s membership to avoid any further payments from processing.
As of May 7th, 2015 a refund request for Ms. [redacted]’s membership payment in the amount of $47.89 was submitted for her.

We were also running the Tour promotion in February for $4.99 for new clients. This promotion is no longer...

in our system. But we would be more than happy to place courtesy sessions on Mr. Smith’s account due to that inconvenience. Second, a gift card does not resolve this issue as I do not intend to do business with Sun Tan City again in the future.  With this having been my second experience of this nature with this company, I have come to believe their business practices are dishonest.  I respectfully request a full refund.

Per the district manager of that location, a refund request was submitted in the amount of $59.99 back to the credit card on file. Yearly Membership provided Ms. [redacted] with once a day tanning access to our Fast level tanning equipment for a full year from the purchase date at a discounted rate with the understanding that the full year would be completed."
With all due respect, when I purchased the tanning package and even after the fact,  I had every intention of utilizing the full year of Fast level tanning at $10 per month...which is exactly what I agreed upon when I made the payment and incepted the membership with Sun Tan City in Greensburg Indiana. I even went to to the salon several times in order to take advantage of my tanning package before I realized the salon was permanently closed. So, the issue isn't that I requested a refund because I no longer wanted to tan at Sun Tan City, THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT THE ONLY SUN TAN CITY SALON WITHIN A 65 MILE RADIUS FROM MY HOME WAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED !  Therefore, if I agreed to pay $10. per month for fast level tanning when I purchased my tanning plan, and Sun Tan City closed the only salon with 65 miles of my home, then when an adjustment is calculated, I shouldn't be charged $19.99 per month for the months I was able to use prior to the store closure, the adjustment and my credit should be based on the $10 per month charge to which I agreed when I purchased the tanning package.  It was not my decision to close the only Sun Tan City within 65 miles of home and I shouldn't be financially penalized because Sun Tan City did not fulfill their contractual liability.  Therefore, the credit I am due should be $90, not $56.

levels of equipment at Sun Tan City for a full calendar year from the date of purchase. Effective July 12, 2016, all Sun Tan City locations in the market were purchased and now operate as [redacted]. Ms. [redacted]’s membership will be honored by [redacted]. However, if she wishes to cancel her membership, we understand [redacted] will honor that request.

I have received the complaint from Ms. [redacted] regarding his membership, purchase with Sun Tan City.  
We would be more than happy to provide Ms. [redacted] a copy of her signed membership agreement, stating to those terms that she agreed to. As a courtesy, we submitted the half and half refund request. If we would submit for a full request, it would be denied, due to the signed agreement that is on file. Or we can submit for the full request to be placed onto a Glow Card.

As of April 28th, 2015 Mrs. [redacted]’s membership with Sun Tan City was terminated. We have issued half a refund for her unused services, and the other half to a glow card; since we do not refund for unused services.

We have reviewed the additional response from Ms. [redacted] regarding her experience with Sun Tan City.
What Sun Tan City has done for Ms. [redacted] is removed the balance from the Glow Card that was issued to Ms. [redacted] via email and submitted a refund request for her as a courtesy in the amount of $65.99. This refund is set to go back to Ms. [redacted]'s debit or credit card that she had provided Sun Tan City for her automatic monthly membership payments.
We hope this resolves Ms. [redacted]'s issues.

Sun Tan City has reviewed the response made by Ms. [redacted] regarding her account issue.As stated previously, Sun Tan City does not charge NSF fees when payments are not successful during our drafting process. Sun Tan City shows Ms. [redacted]'s $5 freeze payment was unsuccessful for the month of August with a rejection code from her financial institution of "Rejected Debit- Insufficient Funds". If Ms. [redacted] received any NSF charges for this rejected debit, it was done by her financial institution. We suggest Ms. [redacted] contact her financial institution regarding the $29 NSF charge that was charged to her account in August. We hope this further information helps resolve Ms. [redacted]'s concerns.

I am glad to read that randy has admitted that they cancelled/transferred my membership to zoom tan but what about the over 2 years of payments they took out of my bank account when I never used their services as there was no place to go to use them.I expect a full refund of all the money that was taken from me.[redacted]

As I have said before I WAS NOT told that I would have to keep my acct for any amount of time at all. I was told I could cancel at any time. I cancelled within the salon and was told that it was taken care of... Also, I DID NOT disconnect the call, I was hung up on. I said " hello" two to three times just to make sure no one was on the line and sure enough I WAS hung up on. I will never do business with this company again.

I cancelled this service over a year ago. I take medication which precludes tanning and sun exposure. I am prepared to engage an attorney who specializes in creditor rights as my review of other complaints leads me to believe this company regularly ignores requests to cancel contracts. Regards,[redacted]

On December 12th, 2014 Ms. [redacted] purchased a 12 month, month to month open-ended agreement that allowed her once a day tanning services at any of our Sun Tan City locations for $39.99 a month....

Per the membership agreement that was signed in the salon by Ms. [redacted], all Sun Tan City memberships require at least twelve automatic payment before the client is able to cancel the membership and there are no refunds for unused services.  
On April 10th, 2014 Ms. [redacted]’s monthly membership was cancelled out as a courtesy by the District Manager of the location. Therefore, Ms. [redacted] will no longer see any further payments processing from her account for this membership.

We have reviewed [redacted] response regarding her issue with her purchase with Sun Tan City.Sun Tan City has agreed to refund [redacted] the additional $30.09 and this requested as been submitted as of May 18th, 2017.We hope this fully resolves [redacted] concerns and she continues to utilize our services in the future.
