I am extremely satisfied with my gold and silver purchases from Swiss America and particularly with Sean G[redacted] and his continued status of market conditions. Over a period of three years, 2010 - 2012, our mother succumbed to the fear of the collapse of the financial system and invested over $60,000 of her retirement funds in coins purchased through Swiss America. On each record of her transactions, she hand wrote: "Commission for selling any gold or silver coins bought by me from Swiss America has been paid. It was included in commission paid at time they were purchased. 'Twas included in commission when bought. Per Mr. [redacted] of Swiss America."
Following our mother's death, two issues arose when we sold some of the coins back to Swiss America.
First, we were told that the commission included in the purchase price applied only to her - that since the coins had been inherited by us, that was no longer applicable. Given that she wrote this statement about the commission on multiple receipts, and that this was information she would not have forgotten, our assumption is that she believed the commission for sale back to the company had already been paid - and would not have to be paid again by her heirs.
Second, in telephone conversations with the company, following my questions about the commission - the company representative said "it is only a small amount." Only after taking the coins to Phoenix did we learn that it was 15%! (In reality, their accounting/paperwork does not make it easy to determine exactly what the commission is, because it seems to be deducted from the amount paid for each of the coins.)
When our mother first began investing in coins with Swiss America, we were uneasy and felt she was being taken advantage of. In our recent direct dealings with the company, that opinion has only been confirmed. We unwisely chose to work with them. At the least, we believe we have lost $3000 on the commission, possibly more.

Friendly and professional service. They answered any question I had and were courteous. I would recommend them to others interested in precious metals.
