My Chase BP credit card became a Synchrony Bank card. I was informed today that my APR increased from 12.24% to 26.99%. I can't even image using a card with that APR. No reason given. Customer service completely clueless - some nonsense about no real impact. This company is just trying to steal from people who can't afford to pay their balance off monthly. Terrible bank!!
I found their billing confusing and difficult to figure out what the total bill was. It seems to me they want to fool you into thinking you've paid it all, and you accrue late fees. Reaching a person is difficult. Once you get through the first layer of computer prompts you need to say "Customer Representative" three times- that gets you a person. However, all 3 times I reached a person, I was not very happy with their service. First person did not speak English sufficiently enough to be doing this, so although I made a payment, I still got a late fee- I still don't understand that one. Second person I spoke to, English was fine, but she couldn't fix the problem for me, and I had to almost yell at her to move me to a higher level, who sounded like they were from America. Last call, again, to some center outside the US, I could hear him, he couldn't hear me. I have never had an experience with any other credit card company like this one.
Worst customer service ever! Always claim payments are late when they're mailed in plenty of time! When challenging them by phone they hang up on you and are super rude when you call back.
I opened a Belk and JC Penny's account back in the spring. I have used the JC Penny card but was going to use the Belk card to do some Christmas shopping. I've had a care credit card for about 4 years. They raised my credit limits on the Care Credit card and my JC Penny card and I just received a letter in the mail that they closed my Belk card due to my credit report being derogatory. I just paid off the rest of my balance of my JC Penny card today so I'm wondering based upon all the horrible reviews of this company if that one will be next. If that happens, I guess they can just suck up the balance on my care credit card or I will just file bankruptcy on it because all they are doing to people it seems is giving them credit then taking it away causing their credit scores to be lower. That's very sad and they should be ashamed of themselves. I cannot believe they have an A+ here and on every other website they can't even make 2 out of 5 stars on their ratings. smh
Synchrony Bank has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They have no actual people to speak with other than their customer representatives who are unable to help with anything other than taking a payment. They were extremely unhelpful recently for myself and family including an elderly veteran. This company handles the credit for many stores, which I have since cancelled all of my cards associated with these store. So beware who is actually handling the credit cards for local stores.
I have been using lowers (spelled like that on purpose) for 21/2 years on a business credit account/w an escrow account on top of that to rebuild my underwater/no equity house. Half way through the project SUCKrony bank sends me a letter they are lowering my credit from a measly 2,000 dollar limit ( I am funding most of this project out of pocket) to 1,300.00 (which is just above were my balance currently stands) with some B.S. excuses about
low payments, percentage of balance to credit too high, and account open less than 36 months. I called SUCKrony bank about the letter and asked for some real legitimate reasons other than the B.S. they sent in the letter about the credit amount reduction, which the customer service could not supply. I stated they were full of bull, I am paying off the account (they are not getting any more interest payments out of me), and rudely told the customer service agent to thank their credit evaluation, decision making team thanks for the service and hung up before before anymore "I am sorry" spewed from the lips of the customer service agent, and hung up. I have spent roughly $20,000 over the past couple of years with these lowes lifes', and this the service and treatment I receive, FAQ EM'!!
Synchrony Bank is THE WORST financial institution I have ever dealt with. I finally bit the bullet and paid the account off in full to avoid future dealings with this horribly run company. The CSR's are poorly trained and there is no cohesion. Each CSR gave me different information which never resulted in a positive outcome. The mail I was supposed to receive never came and I was penalized for not receiving it. I made a payment over the phone with one of the unqualified CSR's, then received 37 phone calls from their payment department saying that my previous payment wasn't submitted. After finally setting up auto payments via the mysynchrony online feature with the help of one of the many foreign CSR's, I was shocked to see the FULL AMOUNT of the loan was deducted from my bank account. I was blamed for not noticing the payment cycle option even though the CSR walked me through my account setup. After fighting to block the absurd charge with Synchrony, I gave up and paid the account off in full. I will never use Synchrony again. NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
How Synchrony is still in business is beyond my comprehension. Notice the negative comments, Synchrony? Do something about it! Or better yet, do us all a favor and cease all business operations. YOU ARE HORRIBLE.
85 years in business, yet they still haven't figure out how to properly track financial transactions. Double charged my checking account for a credit card payment and their support representatives claim they don't see the first charge and thus cannot do anything to remedy the problem. Both charges have different ID's in the note so I know it's not an issue with my bank. My bank however has deducted both charges from my balance.
I have an account that is currently open with these people, through Rooms-to-go financing. I'm not convinced that all that they changed was their name. I have had to call them twice in two weeks and both representatives I have spoken to have been incredibly unhelpful and rude! Once I pay off my furniture, I will be leaving this establishment and NEVER doing business with them again. I don't pay the money I pay every month to be talked over and cut off and treated like I'm stupid. GET SOME BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS!
I tried to open 2 savings accounts over the weekend. Because they did not work successfully the first time, I filled out the information a 2nd time. Got a message saying unable to open with account id to reference.
I called on Tuesday and was on hold for 10 minutes. Then got to someone who had to seek information from another group. He came back and said I would get a letter telling me IF I would get an account in 7 - 10 days. I was not happy so asked to talk to someone who could explain the process to me. That person told me same information with a bit more detail but nothing that indicated why it would take so long. All their hold info was go online to avoid long waiting time to open an account. What's the use if you are going to not get an actual account anyway.
I immediately asked to cancel my 2 requests as this did not sound or feel good from a customer perspective.
I had financed a mattress on a 0% interest promotion from GE Capital in 2012. The promo ended on Sep 28 2015. Due to the name change from GE Capital to Synchrony Bank the monthly e-mail statements were going into my spam folder and I missed the ending of the promo and was hit with a substantial deferred interest charge. Spoke to Josh at Synchrony Bank and explained the situation to him, and the fact that I had made every payment on time, and he was able to waive the deferred interest charge. I really appreciate the fact that they were willing to look at my situation and remedy it when they could have insisted on the payment. THANKS SYNCHRONY!
I had a QVC credit card for 15 years and overdrew my checking account for the first time by accident for 1 day. It was immediately rectified & I did not think it was an issue. I was so wrong. I received a letter from Synchrony Bank about 10 days later who I did not even know had the account for QVC, that they had reviewed my account and had cancelled it due to numerous issues with overdrafts. This was not the case. Interestingly enough last week they increased the credit limit on another one of my accounts and sent me a letter preapproving a WalMart charge. But you ruined my credit by canceling a card I had for 15 years? I may have to take further action with this to fix my credit rating.
I would NEVER recommend financing anything through Synchrony Bank. I got their Care credit for some work I had done on my teeth 2 years ago. I paid them off and never used the credit again. When I asked them to close my account, they refused. 2 years later I got a letter saying that "they" were going to close my account and report it to the credit bureau as" closed by creditor", which will negatively affect my credit. They said it was based on other information on my credit report. How is that fair? I didn't have a bad record with their company. I wrote to them to try to clear it up and their response was that they had acted according to Fair Credit Reporting Act. In what universe?
Excellent Service reasonable rates with no annual fees!
Since Synchrony Bank acquired my Chase BP Rewards Card account, I have had nothing but problems. My card has been put on stop three times (quite embarrassing at the check out), I have not been able to access my account information online and there are charges on the account that have no description and no option for dispute. As soon as this is resolved, I will be shopping for another rewards card
I like to pay my account in full before the expiry of promotional offer. I had autopay registered for the first of the month. The bank never deducted the amount. When I called customer service, they said that the autopay would not kick in because there was no amount due. I had already set up autopay and it shows up on my account. I paid another installment via the website and it has not gone through yet.
I have been trying to open a savings account with this bank for two days now. I have official terminated my efforts. Today I was able to finally get their website to allow me into the site to enroll for their saving account sign-up. After entering ALL of my secure information and hit the submit button, the site said "you application has been terminated due to too much idle time"!?!?!? What the? I never hesitated at all. I went through this twice! No more, and I pisses me off that I have already given them all of my sensitive information and allowed them to ding my credit report! DO NOT INTERACT WITH THIS BANK!
Amazing. I just called to discuss a concern on my account. The machine told me to call back at 645. I thought I had 2 years to pay off my loan since the guy at living spaces said if I passed a certain limit it would be 24 months instead of 12 and yesterday night when I went to pay my bill I discovered over 300$ extra in interest of 29.99%. That's incredibly high for a 22 year old mother of two!!! Never buying anything with them again. I also never bothered to look at my statements (I know horrible on my part but I have been paying bills for years and nothing like this has ever happened.), but it turns out I have 3 late charges of at least 25$. Also each month I have 2$ interest charge which is weird even if I'm suppose to have 12 months free interest. 2$ can really add up. So upset
I have had a PayPal Extras Master Card for several years. Dealing with them when they were part of GE Capital Bank wasn't always easy, but you could at least get through to somebody if you were persistent and patient enough.
Since GE became "SYNCHRONY BANK" their customer service has gone from just okay to horrible.
My card was recently hit with a fraudulent charge. They contacted me on October 31 to verify the charge. I confirmed that it was fraudulent. My card was cancelled, a new card was issued and I was promised a new card in 10 business days. Ten days passed, but no card arrived.
I tried contacting Synchrony customer service. I couldn't get through - kept getting a recorded message announcing "due to high call volume, we are not taking calls at this time." Got this message every time I tried to call. Finally called PayPal (their customer service is always superb) and they finally managed to connect me to Synchrony. Synchrony's service rep told me that a card had been issued, and I should receive it within the next three days. Three days passed * still no new card. Tried contacting Synchrony directly four more times.
Finally went back through PayPal, but even their calls weren't getting through. They had to make several attempts to finally connect me to Synchrony. Synchrony finally told me that my account had been permanently closed, and no new card would be issued. I would have to submit a new credit application. Had to resort to threats of war to get a supervisor who agreed to re-issue a card on my existing account. I was told I would see my new card "in seven to ten business days." Hopefully this time I actually get a new card, though I may still pay off the card and close the account. I just don't want to deal with this kind of headache again.
This process took DAYS of repeated unsuccessful attempts to resolve when it should have taken a single phone call to a competent customer service rep.
If you are considering doing business with Synchrony DON'T DO IT!!! Synchrony Bank's customer service ought to be prohibited by the Geneva Convention. It is nothing short of brutal torture. PayPal PLEASE FIND A NEW VENDOR FOR YOUR MASTERCARD SERVICE!!!
I've had their Sams Club card & Amazon card for over 6 months now. I have 15 others cards. 2 stores & the rest are primes. I run about 7/8k through a few of my cards a month. Always pay in full. My credit limits are high so that when I do buy something, my utilization on that card never goes over 30%. I tried to ask for a larger credit limit since they started me off with lower ones. They asked my income & nothing else. Got a denial. No reason. Just no. I have never had a problem with any other card I own. Had Amex for over 37 yrs now. So in getting these cards to use for cameras, equipment, etc. And Sams for TV's and such was a total waste of my time! I can only charge small items. I will have to look elsewhere other than GE/Synchrony Bank. Not a good experience for me at all! Very disappointed.
