To anyone out there that is thinking of using this banks no interest promo for any reason I would strongly say forget it; In either case if you miss a payment by one day you are charged a late fee of $35 to $37. Then they charge you interest on the late fee. They charge you that interest every month until it is paid off. I have 2 other credit cards with a no interest promo for 18 month and have made one or two payments a day late and have not been charged. Plus the normal interest rate I get from these two cards will kick in at 12.34% should I continue payments after the 18 months. Synchrony will charge 29.99% after the promo period, THAT is usury. I will be paying off the card in full in the near future.

I had a minor problem while I was relocating to a different city. I tried to make an Amazon purchase but because I had changed my address I was asked (unnecessarily) for my card number. The card was in with things that were being moved. I talked with a Synchrony rep and a superviser and was told the only way to reinstate the account was to mail in a utility bill from the new address. Ridiculous! I closed the account. Synchrony was okay until something out of the ordinary happened but then it was difficult to work with, unreasonable, and unable to adapt to the most minor problem.

They call me at work every day. No one on the line and there is never a voicemail left if I miss their daily call.
STOP already.

I have never ever in all of the 20 + years I have been making payments/reviewing activity online had such a hassle as I do with this bank.
I continually get the message that my account is not registered I have had an old Navy Card for 15 or so years so I think I registered it as well as the Visa card I switched too. Call customer service clueless same with technical support, we show it registered, I ask if they would like a screen shot sent while I confirm ALL of the information I put in everytime.
I get the message after I go through the initial log in verify picture, password, security questions. I am begining to think they dont want people to access their accounts.
Off to the hell of their customer service, which is beyond a nightmere to deal with.

They are the worst bank ever they rip you off with there bs service charges they lie and drag on there payments for a 1000 loan I've payed for almost a year and still owe 800 buck at a supposedly 0% after paying more then 700 there customer service are from a 3rd world country and total aes telling me it's because of late fees funny cause I've payed 3 times there payment each time so there no such thing as late because I've payed two and three times there min balance due

Had BP Visa Card with Chase Bank. No written communication from Synchrony about the assumption of the card account from Chase. Chase did inform me that access from the Chase website would end on May 9 and commence at Synchrony om May 19. Card info disappeared from Chase website May 9. On May 19 tried to register at Synchrony. Message "not working for BP cards, try later". On May 21 started registration process. Was able to login with new user name & password. Then asked for CVV code from back of card. Error message stated it was invalid. Got email frrom Snychrony May 22 that I could view my account. Attempt again stalled at needing CVV code. It did show the XXXXXXXDDDD the Ds being the last 4 digit of the card number but they are not correct. Have talked to 2 different "customer service reps" on 2 different days. They are sending a new card. First rep said the account number would be the same, the second said it would have a new account number. I will probably get the card, pay off the

Worst, worst, worst bank I have ever dealt with! They bought out my GE credit cards who I had never had a problem with. Then out of the blue lowered my limit on 2 which - 1. put me over the limit and 2. lowered my credit score because now it looks like I am maxed out. I have never been late on my payments, have been a faithful customer to these stores and am treated like this????

Overall, I cannot say anything but plain simple horrible, terrible and it makes my stomach turn when I need to all them and have anything to do with them. I would rather go to other bank and pay higher fees and/or interest rates, than deal with Synchrony Bank in the future!

This is one of the most customer (no) service websites I've ever experienced! When you try to contact Synchrony Bank to request a written copy of the results of a credit card application..... You can't! The only communication I received was an email with a .do file extension in a file association manager The only way to open this is to download (suspect) software to attempt to open the file which I did not want to do. What a farce. Apparently the bank is doing so well that they don't need any additional customers. Maybe a good sign though after reading all the negative reviews.........

Multiple customer service representatives were extremely rude and short. They were not helpful and did not solve the problem I needed to have solved. I was sent on a wild goose chase numerous times, and ended up with no results and feeling frustrated and upset with the service I had received. Also, often times automated system and connection with the agent was faint and I could barely hear them.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Bought some artwork on a cruise and now have spent countless hours just trying to pay the damn company. Customer service is awful they will transfer you a minimum of 4 or 5 times before connecting you to someone who either a) barely speaks English or b) has a horrible phone connection and you can't hear them. They will never call you or give you any reference numbers.
If you live outside of the state's cancel your card immediately as they have no suggestions for how you will pay. I will be canceling my account asap and will ask them to totally remove all information and contact they have for me. Nothing good to say about this sleazy company.

As a customer that has always paid early and more than the minimum payment I recently sent a payment which synchrony received 9 days before payment was due I had not received any alert that my payment had been received. I called and was told they had no record of receipt.... I checked with my bank and it had not been cashed....I stopped payment as my online statement showed a late payment fee also.....so after I cancel the check and double it up for this month....mind you I had been told nothing would be interrupted I try to use my card and it won't work. I receive my check back 30 days after I mailed it and 21 days after they dated receiving it and I am the bad guy....was told my next $800 bank check would not be used either because it only contained the last 4 digits of my account number.....just like they show on the pay slip provided....oh and by the way I still could not use the card even though the$800 payment would be 10 days early and couldn't speak with a supervisor...... STAY AWAY FROM SYNCHRONY THEY WILL GET YOUR CREDIT SCREWED UP EVEN WHEN YOU PAY EXTRA ON TIME

Synchrony Bank has the poorest customer service. I have spoken to three people and have not had my issue resolved. Their so called customer service team does not listen to customers, does not acknowledge the customer complaint, and does not care about the customer. This can be heard on the recorded calls, if the calls are truly reviewed for "quality" service. This is unacceptable for people to have to deal with this. Thank GOD I have a zero interest and they are not making a dime off of my hard-earned money. I strongly urge anyone looking for a loan to not go with anyone who is associated with Synchrony Bank, especially if you have an interest fee! They are not service oriented and will not take care of you, THE CUSTOMER!
