Tax Tiger Reviews (96)

We have been in communication with the client and they understand that this was an oversight in our billing system related to moving payment dates Mr [redacted] originally agreed to a certain date each month for his payments to be automatically debited, and while we have worked on multiple occasions to adjust Mr***'s payment schedule at his request, in July the system was not updated with the request unfortunately, and in our error We have not only refunded the $charge back to Mr***'s credit card, but we have also sent him a check for the inadvertent payment that was charged for an additional $ We have asked the client to confirm that they have received both, the credit back to their card in the amount of $561, as well as the check sent directly to them for $ We have also offered to cover the bank fees of $that were incurred as a direct result of our error We apologize for the error and will ensure that our billing system gets updated for all future payments We believe the Revdex.com complaint here was a bit unnecessary, since it was made after we already refunded the funds to the client, and have made adjustments to the billing schedule for Mr*** We look forward to a successful resolution Mr***'s tax issues, and apologize for any inconvenience we have created

Consumer states: The company has reached out to me and gave me a proper explanation of my returnThey have resolved my issues

Dear Mr [redacted] , We are rejecting the response from Tax Tiger dated July 3, and would like the Revdex.com to assist us further as their statements are bogus First, Tax Tiger recommended [redacted] for their bookkeeping services Based on their recommendation we hired [redacted] in January We pay [redacted] a monthly fee for their bookkeeping services and Tax Tiger was well informed of this fact In fact, in some of the emails we would remind Tax Tiger that if they needed any documents to please reach out to [redacted] as they have all of our documents As a result, Tax Tiger did not prepare our Federal and State tax returns correctly as we have had them reviewed by an Enrolled Agent and he has now completed amended tax returns which show that we are due $41, Secondly, for Tax Tiger to state that we approved and signed the returns is ridiculous The majority of the US tax payers use a tax preparation service and do not complete their own taxes We paid for a service and the service provided was terrible As consumers we expect that when we pay for a service that it will be completed correctly As a tax preparer they are handling very sensitive information and by failing to not apply applicable tax laws, exemptions and deductions appropriately it greatly affects the outcome which in turn affects the client We ask for the Revdex.com to assist us in obtaining the refund of $41,plus the $5,we paid for the installment plan as we will never receive the refund due to Tax Tigers egregious errors Lastly, Tax Tigers rating should be changed to reflect the errors they have committed in order to warn future consumers Sincerely, [redacted] & [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because: While a representative from Tax Tiger has been gracious in re-opening my file, the previous representative would not return my communication requestsI was promised representation until the IRS case was settled, and was abandoned and ignored by my previous representative I was all but promised to have a negotiated settlement with the IRS and received nothing more than an abatement requestIn the end, when I tried to contact my previous representative, I received no response The only response I received was to the public Revdex.com complaint. While I believe the Revdex.com complaint was fully warranted if not required, They have responded to me privately in a professional manner I already feel more comfortable with the new representative, and am hoping for more professional communication and conclusion

Ms [redacted] contracted Tax Tiger in June of for help with resolving her state and federal tax liabilitiesAt the time of her initial consultation the resolution process was explained to her in detail, and once retained, Tax Tiger began by requesting necessary documentation from Ms [redacted] in order to proceed with those processesWithin this first month of retaining Tax Tiger, Ms [redacted] had requested the need to postpone her payments to Tax TigerTax Tiger was more than accommodating, and agreed to reschedule her payments to alleviate some of her financial strainsIn August of 2016, some of the documentation requested was provided, however there were still additional documents neededBy the end of August, Ms [redacted] had provided her documents and a financial analysis was completedBased on her income, it was determined that Ms [redacted] had a requirement to make estimated tax payments in order to avoid owing again, and Tax Tiger explained the necessity of these payments and that they had to be made, but Ms [redacted] had not made any of these payments in On September 1st, 2016, Ms [redacted] reached out to Tax Tiger again to request that her scheduled payment to us be cancelled, as it would be returned for insufficient feesAs a courtesy, we allowed Ms [redacted] to make a $progress payment so that we could continue working on her caseMs [redacted] was advised of her estimated tax payment requirement but said she would not be able to make them, which meant she would incur additional tax liabilities for the tax yearTax Tiger explained to her that incurring an additional liability would cause any arrangement established with the IRS or State agency, to defaultBy the end of September 2016, Ms [redacted] had again reached out to let us know she would not be able to make her monthly payment to Tax TigerOur accounting department reached out to make arrangements and rescheduled her payment for a later date to prevent any delays in her caseMs [redacted] 's payment to Tax Tiger failed again in October and again in November of Tax Tiger again reached out to Ms [redacted] to schedule partial payments in an effort to accommodate her situation. On January 2nd, 2017, Ms [redacted] called Tax Tiger again to refinance her payment schedule with us, and again we accommodated her requestMs [redacted] 's Case Manager had an in depth conversation regarding her account status with both the IRS and FTB, explained all available resolution options in addition to explaining why she would not qualify for others, and advised her on what she needed to do SPECIFICALLY in order to resolve her tax liabilities, since it was clear that she was going to owe againTo include the new liability into her resolution services with Tax Tiger, she was advised to file her tax return ASAP, and to begin making estimated tax payments to avoid this same situation all overBy February 1st of 2017, another payment to Tax Tiger for services had failedRegardless of the continued failed payments to Tax Tiger, we continued working her case for some timeTax Tiger reached out once again to make payment arrangements, but did not hear back from herAt this point in time, Tax Tiger management decided to placer Ms [redacted] 's account on hold, and all work was stopped until payment for services was resumed, as she was now two months past dueWhen a client has failed to meet their payment obligations over multiple months, and has a history not fulfilling those obligations, it is Tax Tiger's policy to place that account on hold until payments resume or the account is brought currentEven with the account on hold, Tax Tiger confirmed that Ms [redacted] was not at risk of collection enforcement from either taxing authorityTax Tiger made sure to confirm Ms [redacted] was protected from any garnishments or levies while she was represented by usBy April 13, 2017, Ms [redacted] still had not made a payment to bring her account current with Tax TigerOn May 5th, Ms [redacted] made a progress payment of $to Tax Tiger to ensure her services with us would not be terminatedTax Tiger's case administrators remained in contact with Ms [redacted] while her account was on hold, and provided updates to her as necessaryMs [redacted] still had not filed her return as advised and had not made ANY estimated tax payments eitherOn July 18th, 2017, Ms [redacted] 's account with Tax Tiger was still past due but we still continued to work with herOnce Ms [redacted] finally filed her return, her documentation that had previously been provided to Tax Tiger were now a year old and out of date, leading to the request of updated documentsOn August 10th, 2017, Ms [redacted] sent an email to her administrator expressing her dissatisfaction with Tax Tiger's services and wanted all of her documents returnedMs [redacted] said that the Franchise Tax Board reached out to her directly to resolve her case and nothing had been done by Tax TigerMs [redacted] 's Case Manager reached out to her to address her concerns and to explain why we were unable to resolve her accountDetails on her case progression were provided again in depthThe state and federal requirements for resolution were explained, but Ms [redacted] did not want to take accountability for her lack of cooperation and ability to follow the instructions she was providedTax Tigers's Case Manager still provided Ms [redacted] with advice on how to resolve both accounts with the IRS and FTB and wanted to continue with representation, but at that point Ms [redacted] said she had another call to take and would call her case manager back shortlyThat is the last we heard from Ms [redacted] , and shortly after, filed her complaint with the Revdex.comWe are actually quite surprised by this, given the fact that Tax Tiger has been more than accommodating with various factors of Ms [redacted] 's situation and struggles, and continued working and providing advice beyond what most companies would have doneTax Tiger has made several efforts since, to rectify the situation with Ms [redacted] and gone so far as to offer a partial refund even thought Tax Tiger has more time invested than Ms [redacted] has paid for, and Tax Tiger also offered to continued representation/resolutionMs [redacted] has failed to reply to these offers or engage in any further communicationWe wish Ms [redacted] well in the future, and believe this complaint is misguided and unwarranted based on the circumstances

I amjecting this response because: It took them one year from the time I retained them in April/May of to April/Ma 2016. When they say it never happened is a 100% flat lieHow dare them act innocent*** did state, again that an employee quit, telling her everything was finished, when in fact it has not been touched. She did state this to me on the telephone, quote, unquote! It doesn't matter at this point, they just got away with the $I paid them for their service. If they get away with this, then the BBC is no better then they are, and I await the future, when someone else will contact the BBC with a similar case, I guarantee itShame on themI am a retired Police Officer from Cheyenne,Wyoming, and I really don't care about the money, it is already gone, but to put everything back on me shows how very dishonest they turkey areAt least I reported this, and I don't have any control over anything else but the reporting. Thank you! *** *

We received the Revdex.com compalint from *** & *** *** related to the preparation of their Individual Tax return, and their claims of errors by Tax Tiger in the preparation of said return.Tax Tiger met with the ***'s in January of 2016, thoroughly discussed their issues at hand, and
offered our services for tax preparation and resolution workThe ***'s engaged our services and we began working with the Revenue Officer assigned to their case, as well as began preparing the tax returns for the tax years and 2016.Due to the sensitive nature of providing specifics, I will state only the following regarding the dispute of errors in the tax return:Tax Tiger received specific information provided by the ***'s for the preparation of their tax returnsTax Tiger advised the ***'s of what their options were, and what they were required to do under the law and US Tax Code, based on that information providedTax Tiger prepared the returns accurately based on his information, and our files will show and state suchTax Tiger provided that tax returns to the ***'s for approval and signature prior to filingIf Tax Tiger WERE to make an error or omission in the preparation of the return, our liability would be for the penalty only, not the tax liability, neither of which is the case here, so a claim that involves demanding Tax Tiger to pay their tax liability is absurd.Tax Tiger cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of the information provided by the client during the preparation of their tax returnTax Tiger spent time explaining to Mrs*** as to why she could not do what she wanted to during the initial meeting in 2016, and further explained that in greater detail in early June of 2017, after it was apparent that Mrs*** sought the advice and services of another prepareTax Tiger advised Mrs*** not to file that amended return (not prepared by Tax Tiger) based on the information we had knowledge of, but either the ***'s provided inaccurate information to us initially, or they provided inaccurate information to the new prepare, but both scenarios cannot be accurate and we will let the IRS sort things outWe welcome all forums where we can explain in further detail, and stand firm that Tax Tiger did everything correct. We wish them well in the future!

I am rejecting this response because: We have provided everything in our possession The tax transcripts are identical to the taxes you prepared, therfore we have not failed!

*** *** had contacted Tax Tiger on August 6th, 2015, for a free consultation regarding a tax liability she had incurred, as well as needing to file a past tax returnOptions for resolution were discussed, and Mrs*** agreed to an initial $deposit/fee for investigation with the IRS to
determine her liability and which years needed to be filed, and then we would revisit an additional fee upon knowing what resolution services we could provide after the research/investigation was completeMrs*** agreed to four payments of $ea, one on Aug 10th, Aug 14th, Aug 21st, and the last one on Aug 28th.Over the next eight months we have many actions on their case which include forty-two initiated contacts to Mr& Mrs***they completely ignored ALL of our emails, phone calls and texts over the right month, until April 13, 2016, when they emailed asking for a refundWe attempted to reach them the same day by phone to get their case on track and to also explain that our work is not free/complementary after they hire our firmWe did not hear back from Mrand Mrs*** and they now reached out to the Revdex.comHopefully they receive this explanation via Revdex.com and understand who no refund will be given.Additionally, we have continued to reach out to Mrs*** through voicemail, as recently as today, with no return call or contact.Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Regards,*** ***Director of Operations

We received the Revdex.com complaint from *** *** related to a few items that we would like to elaborate onFirst, the purchase price and disputed amount from Revdex.com is inaccurate and more than likely a clerical data entry errorMr*** retained our services for a fee of $to reach a
resolution with his tax liabilityWe prepared an offer in compromise and submitted it to the IRSThe offer was rejected by the IRS even though we felt it was a valid offer, so we then appealed the rejection and sent Mr*** a request for updated information to respond with, and never received a responseThe IRS closed the appealMr*** phoned the office after receiving a notice that the IRS was placing a lien on his home, and became verbally abusive and rude, as we explained why the IRS was issuing a lien, to protect their interest throughout the offer in compromise process, and that the lien would be removed once all conditions of any settlement were metThe call was disconnected at a point when we were very uncomfortable with the tone and direction of the callAt that point our services were complete per our agreement, and we decided from Mr***'s conversation that he did not wish to explore any other options or alternatives to resubmit a new offer with current information.Mr*** stats that Tax Tiger did not contact him for a year, but that is just not true at allWe document every interaction with clients, phone calls, emails, mail, etc., and there was communication throughout the process, The only periods with no communication, were the time periods in which we were awaiting an IRS response, or information to be provided from Mr***, to which has been acknowledged due to personal things taking placeThere were also periods with no communication, were the time periods in which we were awaiting an IRS response, or information to be provided from Mr***, to which has been acknowledged due to personal things taking placeThere were also periods where we had to perform additional reviews of Mr***'s situation due to changes that could potentially affect the outcome of a resolutionThis process actually changed the course of resolution about three times.Mr*** states that a lien was placed on his property, to which we explained why the IRS services at no additional cost by re-submitting an offer in compromise to the IRS, but based on conversations with Mr*** that we were uncomfortable with, we chose not to entertain that option.Tax Tiger performed the services that they were hired to perform, and as good as we are at analyzing a clients ability to meet the IRS requirements of the offer in compromise program, there are many things that can change related to a taxpayers circumstances that will affect the outcome. I am rejecting this response because: While a representative from Tax Tiger has been gracious in re-opening my file, the previous representative would not return my communication requests. I was promised representation until the IRS case was settled, and was abandoned and ignored by my previous representative.  I was all but promised to have a negotiated settlement with the IRS and received nothing more than an abatement request. In the end, when I tried to contact my previous representative, I received no response.  The only response I received was to the public Revdex.com complaint. While I believe the Revdex.com complaint was fully warranted if not required, They have responded to me privately in a professional manner.  I already feel more comfortable with the new representative, and am hoping for more professional communication and conclusion.

To whom it may concern,[redacted] contacted Tax Tiger in January of 2014 related to an IRS tax liability she had. After speaking with Ms. [redacted] and analyzing her situation, she was informed based on certain conditions that she did not qualify for a negotiated settlement offer with the IRS, but...

that we would be able to help her negotiate a reduced payment arrangement and assist with the removal of a tax lien based upon information provided. Ms. [redacted] retained our services on removal of a tax lien based upon information provided. Ms. [redacted] retained our services on April 28th, 2014. Upon receiving Ms. [redacted]'s signed client documents; we researched the balances due and ordered transcripts, then decided the best course of action to remove the lien. We established an installment agreement, confirmed with IRS, and scheduled a lien withdrawal request after the third installment payment to the IRS, which is required prior to the evaluation of a lien removal.Upon submitting a lien withdrawal request to the IRS in August of 2014, we were notified that the request was denied due to an older liability that needed to be settled prior to a release. We informed Ms. [redacted] of this situation and her options, as well as provided copies of the account transcripts from the IRS related to the liability. Ms. [redacted] advised us that she could not pay the oldest liability needed in order to remove the tax lien under the current installment agreement, but she did advise us that she was in the process of selling her house, which would settle the entire IRS liability in full based on the equity in the home.Tax Tiger then submitted a penalty abatement request to the IRS in March 2015 in an effort to further reduce the liability, which is a process that can take upwards of 6 months for the IRS to process, review, and accept/deny. On April 29th, 2015, we received communication from the title company handling the sale of Ms. [redacted]'s residence prior to closing, stating that they had received the tax lien payoff information related to the IRS liability to settle upon the closing of her home. The Title Company advised us the payoff was correct, Ms. [redacted] advised us of the same, and we confirmed. The only items not included by the IRS into the final liablity were the penalties and interest, which was currently in submission for abatement on each year. The very next day after verifying the liabilities with title and IRS, as well as verifying that her installment payments would cease, we received this complaint.Ms. [redacted] was advised prior to becoming a Tax Tiger client that she did not qualify for an IRS Offer in Compromise, but rather an installment agreement and penalty abatement request. We also informed her that based on the information provided; we felt we could also apply for the removal of the tax lien, and that we would do that at no extra charge. Ms. [redacted] was charged a flat fee for our services of $1800, an additional $45.45 for breaking our fees up into payments. Tax Tiger worked on Ms. [redacted]'s case for over a year and kept her very informed each step of the way, and have all of our communications documented in our system. Ms. [redacted] has also received a copy of our case file with all documentation submitted to the IRS.Tax Tiger has performed every action we told Ms. [redacted] we would, and we are currently awaiting a final determination on the penalty abatement request submitted on each year that had a liability. Ms. [redacted] has a spreadsheet outlining all of tax penalties for which we are seeking abatement on.Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Regards,[redacted]

We received the Revdex.com complaint from Mr. [redacted] and have reviewed our notes and spoken with Mr. [redacted]. We were a bit perplexed at the complaint by Mr. [redacted], since we had completed our services to negotiate a repayment arrangement with the IRS, request a penalty abatement, and prepare a few...

back tax returns outstanding. Our services were completed and we had not heard from Mr. [redacted] in over a year, but upon reaching out to him after reading his complaint and discussing with him what services we performed, he did admit some responsibility to his current situation and was not trying to be unreasonable in resolving it. Tax Tiger offered to submit a new power of attorney and take a new look at his current situation and standing with IRS, and are currently aiding Mr. [redacted] further in evaluating things. We believe the complaint was bit unwarranted and could have been resolved with a phone call and discussion with us at any time.Regards,[redacted]Director of Operations

This is our final response, the clients (Silva's) have failed to provide us with adequate information to even begin to compare the inaccuracies between the return Tax Tiger prepared, and the return [redacted] prepared, after multiple requests.  We stand by our return prepared based on the information provided to us by the clients.  We wish them well. David KruegerDirector of Operations

Dear Mr. [redacted],   We are rejecting the response from Tax Tiger dated July 3, 2017 and would like the Revdex.com to assist us further as their statements are bogus.   First, Tax Tiger recommended [redacted] for their bookkeeping services.  Based on their recommendation we hired [redacted] in January 2016.  We pay [redacted] a monthly fee for their bookkeeping services and Tax Tiger was well informed of this fact.  In fact, in some of the emails we would remind Tax Tiger that if they needed any documents to please reach out to [redacted] as they have all of our documents.  As a result, Tax Tiger did not prepare our 2015 Federal and State tax returns correctly as we have had them reviewed by an Enrolled Agent and he has now completed amended tax returns which show that we are due $41,227.   Secondly, for Tax Tiger to state that we approved and signed the returns is ridiculous.  The majority of the US tax payers use a tax preparation service and do not complete their own taxes.  We paid for a service and the service provided was terrible.  As consumers we expect that when we pay for a service that it will be completed correctly.  As a tax preparer they are handling very sensitive information and by failing to not apply applicable tax laws, exemptions and deductions appropriately it greatly affects the outcome which in turn affects the client.   We ask for the Revdex.com to assist us in obtaining the refund of $41,227 plus the $5,000 we paid for the installment plan as we will never receive the refund due to Tax Tigers egregious errors.  Lastly, Tax Tigers rating should be changed to reflect the errors they have committed in order to warn future consumers.     Sincerely,   [redacted] & [redacted]

Consumer states: The company has reached out to me and gave me a proper explanation of my return. They have resolved my issues.

[redacted] contacted and hired Tax Tiger in September of 2015 to investigate her IRS liabilities, negotiate an installment agreement, and abate penalties. After our investigation we recommended Mrs. [redacted], that we also amend some prior year tax returns which would result in an approximate 90%...

reduction in the her total tax liability, a substantial savings of approximately $200,000. Mrs. [redacted] agreed and was very happy with this recommendation. Unfortunately our client’s spouse was sentenced to prison during this process, and apparently refused to cooperate with Mrs. [redacted] to sign the amendment of the tax return. Mrs. [redacted] is understandably frustrated with the situation and we feel that frustration is unfortunately misdirected towards Tax Tiger. We have already completed all of the work necessary to finalize the resolution for our agreed to services, but our client did not want to move forward in mid February 2016. We are still willing to submit all of the paperwork that we prepared towards providing the best resolution possible for our client, but as of this response our client is not returning our phone calls. Considering the amount of time and effort we put forth toward this clients case, over 5 ½ months, we believe the fees billed have been earned and are justifiable in accordance with the agreement our client signed and dated in early September 2015. We will not be able to provide a refund based on all factors above, although we will still continue to assist Mrs. [redacted] in filing the amended return should she so desire, or is able to obtain the cooperation of her spouse. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.Regards,[redacted]Director of Operations([redacted]

We have been in communication with the client and they understand that this was an oversight in our billing system related to moving payment dates.  Mr. [redacted] originally agreed to a certain date each month for his payments to be automatically debited, and while we have worked on multiple...

occasions to adjust Mr. [redacted]'s payment schedule at his request, in July the system was not updated with the request unfortunately, and in our error.  We have not only refunded the $561 charge back to Mr. [redacted]'s credit card, but we have also sent him a check for the inadvertent payment that was charged for an additional $561.  We have asked the client to confirm that they have received both, the credit back to their card in the amount of $561, as well as the check sent directly to them for $561.  We have also offered to cover the bank fees of $36 that were incurred as a direct result of our error.  We apologize for the error and will ensure that our billing system gets updated for all future payments.  We believe the Revdex.com complaint here was a bit unnecessary, since it was made after we already refunded the funds to the client, and have made adjustments to the billing schedule for Mr. [redacted].  We look forward to a successful resolution Mr. [redacted]'s tax issues, and apologize for any inconvenience we have created.

We have attached the following files:1.  Signed Terms and Conditions by client - reference Item #7 related to billable hour upon cancellation or termination by either party.2.  Itemized billable time on the case for [redacted].As Tax Tiger has previously stated, on September 1st, a case worker for Ms. [redacted], [redacted] spoke with her by phone and offered a partial refund and Tax Tiger offered to continue working her case.  At that time Ms. [redacted] declined and we have yet to speak with her again. If the only resolution for Ms. [redacted] is a full refund, then we can reach no agreement on how to resolve her issues.  As of right now, Ms. [redacted] still owes Tax Tiger money for services already performed, and even as such, Tax Tiger was still willing to try to accommodate her with a partial refund and the continuation of services.Regards,

I am rejecting this response because: The whole point of hiring Tax Tiger so I would not have to go through what I have been through in the past...hours and days of being on hold and sometimes never getting through until a week later, and it was very stressful!  And, which at this, time I could afford Tax Tiger. They were accommodating as long as I could make "any"  type of payment...which they accepted.  As of today, Tax Tiger has been paid $2,842.00 by me, through [redacted]. I notified Tax Tiger that the State had contacted me, and I was highly upset. This was supposed to be there job!  What was the point of paying Tax Tiger when they contacted me?  I was told that the only reason they contacted me was because I had dealt with them before with payment arrangements, and they wanted to know why I had not responded to their letters since 2016.  So I explained to them what I had done...hired Tax Tiger And, they advised me to contact the IRS which I did.  I will be calling the IRS back on the 22/23rd of this month. The IRS informed me that they have not heard from Tax Tiger also since the time I signed with Tax Tiger.(2016).  The State and IRS say that the one thing you should not do is, NOT TAKE ACTION!  So now I'm dealing with both IRS and State anyway, which I would have done one whole year ago, and eliminate a new debt that I did not have in the first place. Again, the money I gave to them could have gone to my estimated taxes.   How can Tax Tiger explain $2842.00 of work?  Again, this was the biggest waste of time and money that only added to the tax issue.I find the timeline interesting.  Only since I contacted the Revdex.com. Now I get a response, and hearing from them frequently lately.I hope that they will treat they're customers with dignity and respect in the near future.
