Tax Tiger Reviews (96)

I am rejecting this response because:  This could have been settled without Tax Tiger from the very beginning. Had I known they would not be in t boh them but I trusted that they would take care of this. I am at the same position/place  today that I was in over a year ago.   Once again, they had NO CONTACT with the State or IRS and  since I signed with Tax Tiger June 2016.  That's why the State contacted me...that's why we are in this situation now. Since State contacted me...I am dealing with them now and still have to deal with Tax Tiger as which is adding tremendous stress as if taxes isn't enough on it's own.  The State and I have been conversing and came up with an arrangement which we will confirm tomorrow.  So I'm dealing with this which Tax Tiger was to do.  Again, following up with the IRS on September 20th, to let them know the outcome of the State. I sincerely wish that we could have come up with some type of agreement, settlement or guarantee  with them to deal with the IRS but, I'm having a serious problem trusting them again that they will do,  what they claim they can do for their client's.

Ms. [redacted] contracted Tax Tiger in June of 2016 for help with resolving her state and federal tax liabilities. At the time of her initial consultation the resolution process was explained to her in detail, and once retained, Tax Tiger began by requesting necessary documentation from Ms. [redacted]...

in order to proceed with those processes. Within this first month of retaining Tax Tiger, Ms. [redacted] had requested the need to postpone her payments to Tax Tiger. Tax Tiger was more than accommodating, and agreed to reschedule her payments to alleviate some of her financial strains. In August of 2016, some of the documentation requested was provided, however there were still additional documents needed. By the end of August, Ms. [redacted] had provided her documents and a financial analysis was completed. Based on her income, it was determined that Ms. [redacted] had a requirement to make estimated tax payments in order to avoid owing again, and Tax Tiger explained the necessity of these payments and that they had to be made, but Ms. [redacted] had not made any of these payments in 2016. On September 1st, 2016, Ms. [redacted] reached out to Tax Tiger again to request that her scheduled payment to us be cancelled, as it would be returned for insufficient fees. As a courtesy, we allowed Ms. [redacted] to make a $100 progress payment so that we could continue working on her case. Ms. [redacted] was advised of her estimated tax payment requirement but said she would not be able to make them, which meant she would incur additional tax liabilities for the 2016 tax year. Tax Tiger explained to her that incurring an additional liability would cause any arrangement established with the IRS  or State agency, to default. By the end of September 2016, Ms. [redacted] had again reached out to let us know she would not be able to make her monthly payment to Tax Tiger. Our accounting department reached out  to make arrangements and rescheduled her payment for a later date to prevent any delays in her case. Ms. [redacted]'s payment to Tax Tiger failed again in October and again in November of 2016. Tax Tiger again reached out to Ms. [redacted] to schedule partial payments in an effort to accommodate her situation. On January 2nd, 2017, Ms. [redacted] called Tax Tiger again to refinance her payment schedule with us, and again we accommodated her request. Ms. [redacted]'s Case Manager had an in depth conversation regarding her account status with both the IRS and FTB, explained all available resolution options in addition to explaining why she would not qualify for others, and advised her on what she needed to do SPECIFICALLY in order to resolve her tax liabilities, since it was clear that she was going to owe again. To include the new liability into her resolution services with Tax Tiger, she was advised to file her 2016 tax return ASAP, and to begin making 2017 estimated tax payments to avoid this same situation all over. By February 1st of 2017, another payment to Tax Tiger for services had failed. Regardless of the continued failed payments to Tax Tiger, we continued working her case for some time. Tax Tiger reached out once again to make payment arrangements, but did not hear back from her. At this point in time, Tax Tiger management decided to placer Ms. [redacted]'s account  on hold, and all work was stopped until payment for services was resumed, as she was now two months past due. When a client has failed to meet their payment obligations over multiple months, and has a history not fulfilling those obligations, it is Tax Tiger's policy to place that account on hold until payments resume or the account is brought current. Even with the account on hold, Tax Tiger confirmed that Ms. [redacted] was not at risk of collection enforcement from either taxing authority. Tax Tiger made sure to confirm Ms. [redacted] was protected from any garnishments or levies while she was represented by us. By April 13, 2017, Ms. [redacted] still had not made a payment to bring her account current with Tax Tiger. On May 5th, Ms. [redacted] made a progress payment of $100 to Tax Tiger to ensure her services with us would not be terminated. Tax Tiger's case administrators remained in contact with Ms. [redacted] while her account was on hold, and provided updates to her as necessary. Ms. [redacted] still had not filed her 2016 return as advised and had not made ANY estimated tax payments either. On July 18th, 2017, Ms. [redacted]'s account with Tax Tiger was still past due but we still continued to work with her. Once Ms. [redacted] finally filed her 2016 return, her documentation that had previously been provided to Tax Tiger were now a year old and out of date, leading to the request of updated documents. On August 10th, 2017, Ms. [redacted] sent an email to her administrator expressing her dissatisfaction with Tax Tiger's services and wanted all of her documents returned. Ms. [redacted] said that the Franchise Tax Board reached out to her directly to resolve her case and nothing had been done by Tax Tiger. Ms. [redacted]'s Case Manager reached out to her to address her concerns and to explain why we were unable to resolve her account. Details on her case progression were provided again in depth. The state and federal requirements for resolution were explained, but Ms. [redacted] did not want to take accountability for her lack of cooperation and ability to follow the instructions she was provided. Tax Tigers's Case Manager still provided Ms. [redacted] with advice on how to resolve both accounts with the IRS and FTB and wanted to continue with representation, but at that point Ms. [redacted] said she had another call to take and would call her case manager back shortly. That is the last we heard from Ms. [redacted], and shortly after, filed her complaint with the Revdex.com. We are actually quite surprised by this, given the fact that Tax Tiger has been more than accommodating with various factors of Ms. [redacted]'s situation and struggles, and continued working and providing advice beyond what most companies would have done. Tax Tiger has made several efforts since, to rectify the situation with Ms. [redacted] and gone so far as to offer a partial refund even thought Tax Tiger has more time invested than Ms. [redacted] has paid for, and Tax Tiger also offered to continued representation/resolution. Ms. [redacted] has failed to reply to these offers or engage in any further communication. We wish Ms. [redacted] well in the future, and believe this complaint is misguided and unwarranted based on the circumstances.

Tax Tiger has been a blessing. I have a unique situation (to me), the listened to my story and situation and immediately had a plan of attack. I never felt rushed while talking to them, they was patient with all the extra details that they probably didn't need. I immediately felt at ease with my decision to call. If your on the fence, just call and talk. Patti L[redacted] has been super helpful and understanding.

The entire staff at Tax Tiger took a very personal and caring approach to help me settle a very large tax problem. They really care about their clients. If a tax problem is your problem then Tax Tiger is your answer

The helpful people at Tax Tiger made a horrible nightmare turn into a dream!! Highly recommended. They work with you all the way. I have told countless people about their work ethic and how well they treat each and every person. They are the best.

I want to give a very speci** thanks to TAX TIGER for their kindness, helpfulness , understanding , heartfelt , honesty without them I would or could be in jail because I could not pay my back taxes, but thanks to them they got it down to where I could afford to pay it in one payment Thank you so much for everything!!!

Review: Tax Tiger was paid for services that were not performed. After no contract was signed and no services rendered refund was requested after several months of getting no response from anyone at Tax Tiger and being past the time frame of being able to dispute charges through [redacted] our options are limited. This company lied to us and stole our money.Desired Settlement: I just want the $1000 back that was paid to Tax Tiger.

Response:

[redacted] had contacted Tax Tiger on August 6th, 2015, for a free consultation regarding a tax liability she had incurred, as well as needing to file a past tax return. Options for resolution were discussed, and Mrs. [redacted] agreed to an initial $1000 deposit/fee for investigation with the IRS to determine her liability and which years needed to be filed, and then we would revisit an additional fee upon knowing what resolution services we could provide after the research/investigation was complete. Mrs. [redacted] agreed to four payments of $250 ea, one on Aug 10th, Aug 14th, Aug 21st, and the last one on Aug 28th.Over the next eight months we have many actions on their case which include forty-two initiated contacts to Mr. & Mrs. [redacted]. they completely ignored ALL of our emails, phone calls and texts over the right month, until April 13, 2016, when they emailed asking for a refund. We attempted to reach them the same day by phone to get their case on track and to also explain that our work is not free/complementary after they hire our firm. We did not hear back from Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] and they now reached out to the Revdex.com. Hopefully they receive this explanation via Revdex.com and understand who no refund will be given.Additionally, we have continued to reach out to Mrs. [redacted] through voicemail, as recently as today, with no return call or contact.Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Regards,[redacted]Director of Operations

I am very pleased with Tax Tiger's service.

Working with Tax Tiger was the best decision I ever made, I should have reached out to them sooner than I did. It can be rather earth shattering to deal with the IRS and to do so alone is incredibly scary. Tax Tiger provided the support I needed without judgement. They are a top notch firm!

The company did a very good job of handling my problem.

I'am so blessed to have tax tiger to help me with my 10 year I.R.S. problem's they got the job done right anyone looking for the best contact them thank's so much

Tax Tiger made our wage garnishment disappear! We didn't have to talk to the IRS, be put on hold for endless minutes or be shuffled around to different departments. They did all the work and we are so happy with the result.

I want to give the highest rating possible to Tax Tiger and [redacted]. They are fast, prompt, and professional. [redacted] negotiated an offer-in-compromise for us with the IRS for multiple tax years that saved my wife and I over $65K. They are true professionals that answer all questions promptly and deliver high quality service.

Review: We paid Tax Tiger $3500 over two years ago to help us settle an [redacted] debt from when my husband was overseas. The debt was about $11,000 and they have made no credible offers and want more money to make another one. Two offers of $20. Yeah, right. By now, the debt is down to $5,000 thanks to his tax returns being kept, and I just want our money back so we can settle it ourselves. We were concerned about garnishment, but since Tax Tiger has dragged their feet so long, we can just take care of a settlement on our own if the lying cheats would just give us our deposit back. We did not withhold information, as they will claim. All requests were responded to in a timely manner.I did complain to them today, so we will see what happens. Their company is a scam. Plus, they are now advertising that they can settle debts for $20. Really? That is a fake claim and should be stopped. Please contact me with any questions. My husband travels for work and is not always available via phone.Desired Settlement: I want my $3500 back. If I was greedy I would ask for interest. Just pay me so I don't have to sue.

We have reviewed the complaint from [redacted] that was that was submitted on June 6th, 2014, regarding contract dispute issues. Ms [redacted] has not retained us for the services outlined in her complaint, but rather tax preparation services. After speaking with Ms [redacted], we determined that the complaint is really not for her, but her boyfriend and services that were provided for him, Mr. [redacted].

I would like to thank you for your amazing help and representation with the IRS.

You guided us with through a difficult challenge that without you we could not have made it on our own.

Caring, strong, wise, and professional are just but a few words we could use to describe your attributes.

My family and I cannot ever thank you enough for what you have done for us.

Your staff made us feel valued and important all the way through.

We will be forever grateful.

Sincerely Yours,

Dr. Ted Rose and family,

[redacted] was, sympathetic, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Would recommend her to anyone at anytime.

I had worked with another tax company for about five years with no resolve. I finally went to tax tiger even though I feared starting all over , but it was the best decision. Tax tiger resolved my tax problem within 9 months. I went from owing over 30,000 to 200.00 and all my tax problems are now resolved. I can not speak more highly of tax tiger. They were professional, non judgmental and listened and quickly worked to resolve my IRS issues.

Review: I hired Tax Tiger 4/15 to help assist me with old IRS debit problems. My tax liability was $15,000.00. I couldnt resolve my debit without help of a lawyer. I had a lien on my home preventing me from taking a second mortgage to pay off debit. I hired Tax Tiger to help remove the lien and decrease old debit( old penalilites and interest). Immediately, I had a monthly payment to Tax Tiger of $300.00 for 6 months to pay a total of $2000.00. I immediately re-started a payment plan to the IRS for $190.00/mo. After 6 months and I paid my retainer. After 6 months, Tax Tiger began communicating with the IRS about my lien. I contacted Tax Tiger ([redacted])regularly by telephone and email every month starting 4/15. After paying my retainer, Tax Tiger stated the IRS couldnt remove my lien unless I paid a additional $3000.00 cash. I could not. ALso, there was nothing from the iRS stating this. I requested Tax Tiger file a abatement penalty requesting my previous penalities and interest come be removed. Several months later this was done in March 2015. In April 2015, I sold my house due to debit. At that time the IRS was paid $16,000.00. I discussed my debit personal and with [redacted] from 4/14 to 4/15 with absolute NO HELP FROM TAX TIGER. ALso, she presented herself and firm as legal respresentation and as a lawyer and in fact was not a lawyer.Desired Settlement: I would to a refund of my attorney fees of $2000.00 paid to Tax Tiger in 2014. Tax Tiger resolved NOTHING with my IRS debit over one year and ultimately misrepresented me.

Response:

To whom it may concern,[redacted] contacted Tax Tiger in January of 2014 related to an IRS tax liability she had. After speaking with Ms. [redacted] and analyzing her situation, she was informed based on certain conditions that she did not qualify for a negotiated settlement offer with the IRS, but that we would be able to help her negotiate a reduced payment arrangement and assist with the removal of a tax lien based upon information provided. Ms. [redacted] retained our services on removal of a tax lien based upon information provided. Ms. [redacted] retained our services on April 28th, 2014. Upon receiving Ms. [redacted]'s signed client documents; we researched the balances due and ordered transcripts, then decided the best course of action to remove the lien. We established an installment agreement, confirmed with IRS, and scheduled a lien withdrawal request after the third installment payment to the IRS, which is required prior to the evaluation of a lien removal.Upon submitting a lien withdrawal request to the IRS in August of 2014, we were notified that the request was denied due to an older liability that needed to be settled prior to a release. We informed Ms. [redacted] of this situation and her options, as well as provided copies of the account transcripts from the IRS related to the liability. Ms. [redacted] advised us that she could not pay the oldest liability needed in order to remove the tax lien under the current installment agreement, but she did advise us that she was in the process of selling her house, which would settle the entire IRS liability in full based on the equity in the home.Tax Tiger then submitted a penalty abatement request to the IRS in March 2015 in an effort to further reduce the liability, which is a process that can take upwards of 6 months for the IRS to process, review, and accept/deny. On April 29th, 2015, we received communication from the title company handling the sale of Ms. [redacted]'s residence prior to closing, stating that they had received the tax lien payoff information related to the IRS liability to settle upon the closing of her home. The Title Company advised us the payoff was correct, Ms. [redacted] advised us of the same, and we confirmed. The only items not included by the IRS into the final liablity were the penalties and interest, which was currently in submission for abatement on each year. The very next day after verifying the liabilities with title and IRS, as well as verifying that her installment payments would cease, we received this complaint.Ms. [redacted] was advised prior to becoming a Tax Tiger client that she did not qualify for an IRS Offer in Compromise, but rather an installment agreement and penalty abatement request. We also informed her that based on the information provided; we felt we could also apply for the removal of the tax lien, and that we would do that at no extra charge. Ms. [redacted] was charged a flat fee for our services of $1800, an additional $45.45 for breaking our fees up into payments. Tax Tiger worked on Ms. [redacted]'s case for over a year and kept her very informed each step of the way, and have all of our communications documented in our system. Ms. [redacted] has also received a copy of our case file with all documentation submitted to the IRS.Tax Tiger has performed every action we told Ms. [redacted] we would, and we are currently awaiting a final determination on the penalty abatement request submitted on each year that had a liability. Ms. [redacted] has a spreadsheet outlining all of tax penalties for which we are seeking abatement on.Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Regards,[redacted]

I want to write this review to let people know how wonderful Tax Tiger is.. I owed the IRS a lot of money I was an owner operator truck driver was on the road a lot and just did not take the time to do taxes well that does not work with the IRS (I found out the hard way they put a lien on my wages and that woke me up fast) I tried making payments and that seemed to go nowhere it seemed like the more I paid the more I owed. I was listening to radio one night while driving and heard a commercial for Tax Tiger thought what the heck called them the next day they explained how they worked. When I got home I told the Misses what I wanted to do and she was very skeptical she thought it was a scam.. She reluctantly agreed so we sent all the paperwork and the process began. Tax Tiger was wonderful to work with it took some time but the out come was fantastic we only had to pay a very small amount so THANK YOU TAX TIGER for helping us. Now the Misses is a believer if you have tax problems I would recommend Tax Tiger 100%
