Tax Tiger Reviews (96)

If you’re looking for help resolving IRS back taxes the Tax Tiger is the only choice. They were truly awesome in helping me get an Offer in Compromise thru with the IRS. I owed $111,000.00 in back taxes and was able to settle for $833.0. The staff at Tax Tiger is professional, knowledgeable, diligently and went the extra 100 miles on my behalf. I couldn’t be happier with the results Tax Tiger accomplished. Thank you for giving me my life back!! If you choose a different company to handle your tax situation, well, good luck.

The professionals at Tax tiger have been very helpful. Even though we are still in the middle of my settlement, they have been on top of everything. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of help with the IRS.

Kathy H[redacted] and her staff are amazing. They took a situation that was very stressful and scary and worked out a solution with the IRS for my family that has allowed me to return to society. I am very grateful God brought me to Tax Tiger. Thank you again for all of your help and I will proudly recommend your firm to all of my friends and family.

I chose Tax Tiger to handle my issue basically after getting quotes from various companies and also from other testimonies off their web site. Now I am glad to be one of those testimonies myself; the IRS had a levy on my paycheck and I owed more than 100K. When I contacted T T I explained my situation to them and they worked with me, they were very comprehensive and understood my situation . After a year I am glad to say the IRS is finally off my back. You might hear about different tax companies on the radio or tv but I HIGHLY recommend you give T.T a call and ask for a quote before making a decision. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of my case and honestly could not imagine how it would have been If I didn't choose Tax Tiger. At the end what the IRS settled for was so little I literally wrote out a check the same day I received the final letter. I won't say how much it was for but It literally shocked me and couldn't believe it. I had to thank my case manager and his staff because if he's good the whole team is as we'll . So for any one looking for tax help the people at Tax Tiger are the ones you need to go with, the process may not be short ; mine wasn't; but it will be worth it. You will not be disappointed. I am no longer in debt with the IRS and I owe it all to [redacted] And Tax Tiger. Thank you Tax Tiger, From one Highly Satisfied Customer........

I am writing this review on Tax Tiger and there CEO Kathryn H[redacted] because I believe we need more companies like this. There caring and professional manner is not seen often these days.
I have, and w[redacted] continue to refer Tax Tiger to whomever I feel could use their expertise.

Tax Tiger helped me last year with my tax issue, helping me go from owing the IRS close to a quarter of a million to me writing a check to the IRS for less than $3000.00. I can't express my thanks enough to Tax Tiger!!!!!!

I don't even have words to describe what Tax Tiger did for me. This will sound like a bad commercial, but trust me, it is 100% the truth. The IRS said we owed them more than $59,000, and with Tax Tiger's incredibly professional and responsive help, we did indeed settle for $21. Twenty one. They answered every question I had and were available whenever I needed them. It often seemed like they knew exactly what the IRS was going to do before they did it. This was such a win situation for us - bordering on life saving. I cannot recommend Tax Tiger highly enough.

Review: On 2-19-13 I ask Tax Tiger to represent me with the IRS & the state of California on a tax lien. I called them on about July 15-13 ask why the IRS give me statement that they are going start taking money out my account. They said that they are working on it.

I talk to another person within 6 hrs they stop the IRS from any money taking from my accounts and held back the lien for right now. We are setting up payment plan.Desired Settlement: Refund or some adjustment of money returned for services not done.

Initial Business Response

We have reviewed the complaint regarding our services provided to Mr. [redacted], and based on our documentation, provide the following response.

The complaint alleged by Mr. [redacted] contacted Tax Tiger regarding a "tax lien" on 2/19/13. Mr. [redacted]'s terminology is slightly off, but should state that the reason for contacting, and further, retaining the services of Tax Tiger, was related to a "tax levy" that was currently in place from the State of CA. Mr. [redacted] hired Tax Tiger to perform the following services:

1. Establish an Installment Agreement with the Internal Revenue Service.

2. Establish an Installment Agreement with the State of CA to replace a stated "tax levy".

In Mr. [redacted]'s complaint, he states that he contacted and hired us on February 19th, 2013, but then jumps in time to July 15th, 2013, leading to the assumption that we have performed no services, nor did we ever speak with him in between, which is far from what has transpired in Mr. [redacted]'s case.

In February of 2013, it was determined through our process of Federal discovery with the IRS, that the IRS had filed a tax return for Mr. [redacted] regarding the tax year of 2008. Mr. [redacted] had attempted to file the original return but was rejected by the IRS. Additionally, Mr. [redacted] needed to file tax returns for the years of 2011, and 2012, in order to be in full compliance with the IRS prior to any installment agreement request could be submitted. We contacted the State of CA Franchise Tax Board in mid-March to determine the outstanding liabilities of Mr. [redacted], and to determine what the State of CA was looking for in order to remove the tax levy already in place. We then contacted Mr. [redacted] to relay our findings that the state levy could be removed but the client would need to enter into an installment agreement with the State of California, which we knew would be the case. Mr. [redacted] approved this course of action in late March of 2013. In April, Tax Tiger faxed the Mr. [redacted] the State of California installment agreement documentation for signature. Mr. [redacted] never returned or signed off on the document. Tax Tiger attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] several times in regards to this, but received no response.

Mr. [redacted] was also approached about filing his tax returns for the years of 2011 and 2012, in order to become compliant with the IRS in April and May of 2013 after hiring us. Mr. [redacted] was unresponsive with these requests as well. Finally, in July of 2013, Mr. [redacted] contacted one of our case workers and indicated that he never received the installment agreement for California to sign off, and that he had received notice from the IRS that he had a "tax levy" that needed to be released. We explained again, that we have been requesting that Mr. [redacted] file those tax returns for 2011 and 2012, and that without them filed, the IRS considered Mr. [redacted] to be in "non-compliance" and would release a levy. When asked why he did not return any of our emails or phone calls, he stated that he did not receive them. If only one method of communication was attempted, I could see a potential issue, but because of the numerous methods we attempted and the verification of address/email/phone when we did speak with Mr. [redacted] in July, we find it hard to believe that ALL forms of communication missed the client. When asked if Mr. [redacted] was receiving our billing statements, he said "yes", which again, leads me to believe that communications were received and ignored. At the end of this conversation, we again reiterated to Mr. [redacted] that he needed to file the returns ASAP, and provided information of how we could release the "tax lien(s)" on his home so that he could sale it, which could not be completed until compliant. Mr. [redacted] ended the conversation with "he will see what he can do". We never heard back from him until August 11th, 2013, at which point Mr. [redacted] requested that we terminate our services.

In summary, I believe this to be a case where Mr. [redacted] was very unresponsive to the requests of our staff to get the necessary documentation in order to finalize the agreements with the State of CA and the IRS. Because of Mr. [redacted]'s unresponsiveness, we were unable to complete our services, but do have many hours of work involved.

Per the terms and conditions that Mr. [redacted] signed, in the event of a cancellation or termination of work, we revert our fees to a billable our of $250/hr. We will begin calculating the time spent on Mr. [redacted]'s case, and refund any unused monies to Mr. [redacted].

Review: Submitted false documentation that resulted in denial of offer in compromise. Delayed process causing existing installment agreement to expire.

Service retained to resubmit a counter to an installment agreement to distribute payment over 72 months. Unsold services to pursue an offer in compromise. Information submitted with the OIC was incorrect, causing the request to be denied. As a result, we are no longer eligible for an offer in compromise, and the installment agreement we had prior to seeking their service is no longer available. Desired Settlement: Refund for all services purchased and additional compensation for further damages incurred.

Consumer's Final Response

Thank you for your response. I have contacted Tax Tiger in Austin this morning and was able to speak to someone regarding the settlement of this issue. Therefore, I would like to request this complaint be withdrawn.

Thank you.

I found Tax Tiger on an internet search. I went to their website and once I read their bio I felt comfortable to trust Tax Tiger with my tax issues. After the initial interveiw and documents signed I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders. During the course of the Offer in Compromise Procedure, the staff of Tax Tiger were always understanding, always patient, always professional, and communication always in good form. Their prediction for my case was accurate and I could not have expected the same results had I done it on my own. Tax Tiger has removed a dark cloud that looms no more over my life. I highly reccommend Tax Tiger not just to anyone, but to everyone.

I am extremely pleased with the results that Tax Tiger got for me regarding my IRS audit. After over 2 years of dealings with IRS representatives Ken, from Tax Tiger, worked very diligently to reduce my tax liability from an amount in the six digits to only $15K. Ken was extremely responsive, knowledgeable and very reassuring during turbulent times. My only regret is that I did not contact Tax Tiger sooner.

I would recommend Tax Tiger, without hesitation, to anyone who is facing an audit from the IRS.

[redacted] and Tax Tiger are simple first rate professionals. They wrote an offer-in-compromise for us that included tax years 09, 10, 11, 12, and 2013. All were approved saving us over $65K. Tax Tiger does what they say they will do.

Review: I contracted with Tax Tiger in September 2015 to assist with my 2012 and 2013 tax liability notices. I paid over $1900.00 for them to investigate and provide direction on next step options. We discussed at the time of setting up the services that the returns in question were joint returns with my ex-husband. We discussed the need for a completion of a POA for their representation and was told I was the only POA needed. I received a call shortly after the services were contracted that the IRS had been contacted on my case and in order to proceed Tax Tiger would require a POA from my ex-husband in order to proceed with their services. Due to some extenuating circumstances causing the inability for our obtaining the POA from my ex-husband; we have not been able to proceed.

On February 29, 2016 I formally requested a refund based on the fact that they had been unable to provide the services they were paid for and I could no longer place the investigation and ultimate resolution on hold. I would need to as the taxpayer investigate the issues myself. They refused to any refund stating they had put too many hours of work into the case and my payment had been more than used calculated at their hourly rate of $250.00/hour. I understand perhaps a couple of hours submitting the POA I completed to the IRS and the conversation with the IRS that they had advising them they could not obtain the requested information without my exes POA. Other than that; I have received 4 brief touching base emails and a couple of brief conversations over the phone.

The core issue is that Tax Tiger was aware within an extremely short period of time from taking the case that they could not proceed without the additional POA and IF they spent time 'discussing' the case it was to use up my money as they have not been able to provide nor will be able to provide the actual service that was paid for and should be refunded minus perhaps a couple of hours of workDesired Settlement: I feel a fair resolution is a refund of my payment for services which was a total of $1996.72; less 2 hours of their work at $250.00 per hour. Net refund of: $1496.72

Response:

[redacted] contacted and hired Tax Tiger in September of 2015 to investigate her IRS liabilities, negotiate an installment agreement, and abate penalties. After our investigation we recommended Mrs. [redacted], that we also amend some prior year tax returns which would result in an approximate 90% reduction in the her total tax liability, a substantial savings of approximately $200,000. Mrs. [redacted] agreed and was very happy with this recommendation. Unfortunately our client’s spouse was sentenced to prison during this process, and apparently refused to cooperate with Mrs. [redacted] to sign the amendment of the tax return. Mrs. [redacted] is understandably frustrated with the situation and we feel that frustration is unfortunately misdirected towards Tax Tiger. We have already completed all of the work necessary to finalize the resolution for our agreed to services, but our client did not want to move forward in mid February 2016. We are still willing to submit all of the paperwork that we prepared towards providing the best resolution possible for our client, but as of this response our client is not returning our phone calls. Considering the amount of time and effort we put forth toward this clients case, over 5 ½ months, we believe the fees billed have been earned and are justifiable in accordance with the agreement our client signed and dated in early September 2015. We will not be able to provide a refund based on all factors above, although we will still continue to assist Mrs. [redacted] in filing the amended return should she so desire, or is able to obtain the cooperation of her spouse. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.Regards,[redacted]Director of Operations([redacted]

They were very helpful and on top of everything always kept in communication with me at all times I have already recommended friends

[redacted] and I cannot say enough in praise and recommendation for Kathy Hill and her professional staff at Tax Tiger.
[redacted] and I relocated to Folsom California from Rochester, N,Y,2010. We were part of the down turn in the economy here in California in 2008. Having lost our home and having some issues with tax filing and penalties from the IRS, we sought the help and professional guidance from Kathy Hill. We were totally relieved that Kathy was willing to take on a complicated case, since we had lived here from 2005 -2009 and had our first encounter with back payment to the IRS and other financial concerns.
Kathy put our minds and hearts at ease. She and her consultants made numerous effort to negociate with the IRS on our behalf. We had accrued penalties which were overwhelming to us. This weekend the best news ever came in the mail from the IRS! Our penalties have been removed after having been in the process for 3 years. Kathy and her team were tenacious and supportive of our needs and concerns throughout all this time. We recommend this company with highest rating!!! Thank you Tax Tiger!!

Last year found me frantically searching the Internet, hoping to find resolution to a major problem that had been growing exponentially for nine years. For five of those nine years I had not filed taxes. It was just a matter of time before the IRS caught up with me. Due to steep interest and penalties, my indebtedness was growing daily. My worry and anxiety grew at a similar pace. That anxiety often robbed me of sleep.
While surfing the Internet, I came across a company named Tax Tiger. The interesting name caught my eye. I clicked on the “About Us” tab at the top of the page. A new page opened up and the very first sentence said that Tax Tiger was a “faith-based business.” That definitely caught my eye as I am a Christian and had been weighed down with a heavy load of shame for not obeying the law.
Under the testimonials tab are letters from people stating that they owed huge amounts of back taxes. I read them all. Numerous people wrote that Tax Tiger had represented them before the IRS and how the IRS accepted a mere fraction of what they owed as payment in full.
In this day of numerous scams, I was very skeptical. It all sounded too good to be true. But, my fear of the IRS was greater than my skepticism. I emailed Tax Tiger and the CEO herself, [redacted], promptly called me on the phone. She explained what they would do for me. She also spoke of her faith in God. I decided to go for it.
The entire process was lengthy, but the work was done for a flat fee. Ms. [redacted]’s team of professional tax experts worked with me diligently every step of the way. They prepared what is called an Offer of Compromise – offering the IRS a fraction of the money owed as payment in full. Not only did Ms. [redacted]’s staff work tirelessly for me, they also treated me with respect at a time when I felt so unworthy of respect.
My home is 1,800 miles from Tax Tiger’s base in Sacramento, California, and it was wonderful that everything could be handled via email and the telephone. And, having a team of caring tax professionals between me and the IRS was a tremendous relief.
Last week I found a letter from the IRS in my mailbox. Not knowing what to expect, my hands shook as I opened it up. The first sentence stated that my Offer in Compromise had been accepted! I know, I know, it sounds unbelievable, but the IRS accepted only $1,152.00 as payment in full for $37,027.00 owed in back taxes!
I mailed a money order for $1,152.00 to the IRS yesterday, almost jumping for joy when leaving the post office. For the first time in several years, I slept soundly, knowing that the nine-year nightmare of fear, anxiety and shame was over.
Be skeptical if you must, but what I write here is the unvarnished truth. If you are behind on your taxes you owe it to yourself to team up with the folks at Tax Tiger. I will be eternally grateful for what they did for me.

Tax Tiger was very professional in handling our tax situation and aggressively pursued resolution with the IRS. They also immediately solved our CA tax problem. Our IRS case dragged on for about two years but they kept at it. Eventually the IRS offered a compromise that was probably the best possible outcome. As a result, we have settled our IRS problem and are happy with the resolution. We strongly recommend Tax Tiger . They cared about our situation and kept us informed on every step they took. They made it easy to have a great working relationship with them. They always kept us updated and celebrated when we had a final decision.

[redacted] and [redacted] :Thank you for providing a positive resolution for my tax issue..I was realy lost and over whelmed . You realy are tigers

What Tax Tiger does is no joke. This company kept me literally from living on the streets. I filed my taxes all my life, until I was hit by a car. I became disabled and during numerous surgeries infections and complications, I received a threat letter from FTB to pay up or lose 1/2 of my diability. Long story short I was 4 days from garnishment. Very ill, hysterical I prayed. I called the 1st name that stood out to me on the internet. Tax Tiger. The owner Kathy Hill answered the phone 6pm leaving to go home, she listen to my storey and immediately took my case that night! In 2 days she had stopped the entire nightmare!!! $36,000.00 became $10.00 total!!! Paid in full! I will never be able to express my gratitude. Tax Tiger's entire staff really cares!!! May God continue to bless you all.
