TERRIBLE Customer service. I used Gigmasters to find a photobooth and DJ for my daughters Sweet 16. When searching I asked several DJs questions about what they provide. DJ Jake responded and then went ahead and paid some booking fee that Gigmasters charges and then made me feel obligated into booking him. I had to eventually cancel my booking with DJ Jake because he had bad communication with me. Gigmasters says that you have payment protection but that is a LIE. Supposedly they have a 100% money-back promise on payments made through Gigmasters but that is a LIE. I paid a deposit and was told that I am not able to receive a refund because it is non-refundable.
I will never use GIGMASTERS again. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, FALSE ADVERTISING

Our records show that you had booked and paid the DJ on 2/8/18 after messaging with him through the GigMasters platform and informing him that on 1/28/18 that you'd like to book him and asked to pay the deposit on 2/2/18. We are not aware of any correspondence that you had with the DJ directly that led to you cancelling the booking, though we would like to mention that you are in no way obligated to book someone on GigMasters. You are more than welcome to book anyone you'd like as it is completely at your discretion. A booking fee is charged to GigMasters vendors when they are hired for an event, though it is refundable to them if a client cancels a booking. Vendors typically set deposit and balance payments to non-refundable and it would be indicated on their quote as well. Our GigMasters Guarantee does cover payments made through GigMasters in the event that a vendor cancels a booking with a client or is a no show to the event. In those scenarios, GigMasters would refund the payments made in full. However, in a scenario where a client is cancelling a booking, a refund being issued would be at the discretion of the vendor. If they authorize GigMasters to issue a refund, then we would gladly return the payment or payments.

It was not made clear to me when signing up online that they had a "no refund policy after 30 days". I paid for a 1 yr subscription and their job was to get me work. I did not get 1 job the entire time I was with them and could not compete with the lowballers who bid on the jobs. They also told me that they only get 9% of people who actually book through their site. I told them I wanted a prorated refund and they continually said they could not give me a refund. I did not get ANY satisfaction or good customer service from them. Their customer service dept. is rude and argumentative and continually talked over me.

Reading the negative complaints here just go to show how quickly people look to blame a company for their own failures. As a vendor that has listed my services with gigmasters for 5 years, they have always resolved minor issues without delay...and the issues are almost always because the people trying to find services simply don't concentrate on what they read on the website. It's a completely legitimate service, that offers people a way to find entertainment services, yet many people just aren't capable of managing and organizing themselves. Gigmasters holds vendors accountable when they fail short of their commitments, and they assist vendors when potential clients can't find their *** with both hands.

Don't throw away your money on their horrible service. I had the worst experience. I called them to set up services for my wedding and was treated very poorly. They were RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. After bragging about how they were the best, they proceeded to tell me 'good luck with your wedding' and hung up. I was completely taken aback with their response and conversation in general. A friend of mine had a similar bad experience where she confirmed services and the performer bailed on her last minute on the day of her wedding. I thought to give them another try, but glad I got to see how horrible they are before making the mistake of booking. Bottom line: your money is better spent with another vendor.

Terrible experience for the second time. I figured I would give Gigmasters another try.
I set up services, confirmed, spoke to the performer several times. Right before the start of my event the performer texts (not call) to cancel maybe.... I’m being kind asking her if she can make it but later - I never heard from her again.
Once again, the performer bailed last minute. I called gigmasters to complain, the support I received was “sorry, were not responsible”
I will never use gigmasters again, it adds stress to a fun event.

Be careful when you sign up as a member with Gigmasters. They hold on to your credit card and put you on a yearly mandatory auto renew when you sign up for a membership. The only way I found out about this is because there was a hidden message on my login screen that I almost never look at and just happened to click on. If I hadn't seen it, they would have automatically charged my credit card $230 without me knowing it. They used to have an area where you could choose if you wanted to opt in or out of auto renew. I called them and got a hold of a customer service lady to find out if I was just not seeing the opt out function in my dashboard. She said all the accounts are set to auto renew now just like ***. The only thing is that with *** and other companies that offer auto renew, you can log into your account and cancel at any time. With Gigmasters you have to call them up and they didn't make it easy for me to cancel either. I was on the phone with them for a good 30 minutes until they took me off of auto renew. Now I just hope that they don't fraudulently charge my card after I've requested not be be auto renewed. The other thing, is that they keep my card information visible in their system without allowing me to go in to edit or remove it. They only allow you to add additional credit card information. To me, this is just bad business. I don't usually like to post bad reviews, but someone has to alert to public about what they're doing. Maybe together we can put some pressure on them to change this unethical policy. If they ever change this policy, I'd be glad to go in and take down this review.

Thanks for the feedback! When it comes to our renewal policy, we very clearly state during the sign up process the following text -
"Upon this purchase, your membership will automatically renew. Don't worry - we'll always send you an email prior to your renewal date."
In order to be transparent, we always send emails 30 days prior to renewal to inform our customers that the renewal is coming. Automatic renewals can be cancelled by phone call, or by email. All that's necessary is a form of communication indicating the intention to withdraw from Automatic Renewal, and GigMasters will oblige.
Like most services, we also require an active credit card on file in order to use the service. We're sorry to hear about this dissatisfaction with our service, however, we would never charge a credit card without the consent of our customers, and we try to be very open and communicative when it comes to when/how they will be charged.
