The consumer is receiving and exchange on all the items July 30th 2015 however the warranty will not start over it is from original deliver. the  items were fixed 2 times and it is happening again this is why we are exchanging the item per our warranty. Thank You The...

There are no toxic on the items and two different technicians came back with the same report a faint smell. As of now we have not hear back from the consumer that the smell is still there. If they are still have issues please contact customer service.

The Roomstore  is following the warranty and we do not show that the [redacted] recline handle has been replaced that many times. and we will still stand be hind our warranty.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I was never notified of the leather only being covered for three years at the time of purchase. Please explain why this is not disclosed in detail at purchase date. RoomStore did not notify me on the 3 year of part of the warranty until I called Custom Service back after a month of emails. I still have not received a call back from a manger even though a voicemail was left.

The three year part of the warranty expired February 2014- the excess peeling of the couch started within 2 month of the three warranties. I am asking for RoomStore to contact me on how the couch can be repaired since the excessive peeling occurred within the five year warranty I purchased.

The consumer had items delivered October 2014 and called in with the complaint in February of 2015 that is four month after delivery and our policy is to repair the item and bring them back to manufactures specifications....

The service technician would have repaired in the home if it was possible how ever he could not so we would have had to bring it to our warehouse to repair. The consumer is upset so as a one time courtesy we will exchange the item. But in the future we will need to repair if any other problems occur.   Thank You   The RoomStore

Yes, the RoomStore replaced the handle but in the process the arm of the sofa broke. The service guy indicated that the sofa arm was already damaged. Unknown when this may have happen but these guys have turned this sofa over several times and moved it to their shop once. This last time the service guy flipped the sofa over the support for the arm broke, it can be seen and felt through the fabric. 

 

The service guy left no paperwork, he took pictures of the now broken sofa arm and said someone will call me from the store. That was Saturday, so far no one has called. 

 

I haven't moved this sofa since it was purchased. No one has sat on the arms of the sofa because there are end tables next to each side of the sofa. This just gets worse as the sofa falls apart.

A couch/love-seat combination costing $2,500.00 +/- should not have 4 of the 5 cushions break down in only months with little to almost no use.  Since this complaint the back of the middle cushion has now broke down and the repair person has scheduled it to be repairs at the same time as the 4 cushion are repaired.  Also the backs of 2 out have the 5 section have come lose and were repaired.   Again this is all with little to no use.  And I "WAS" told that the repair could take up to 15 weeks with us being without our living room furniture for up to 2 week.)

I stand by my assertion that this set is defective unless The Room Store would like to argue that it is normal for their furniture of this price to break down to the point of being uncomfortable/unusable after just a few months.

The consumer purchased the items back in April of 2008 the manufacture carried a 5 year warranty (see attached document) and the RoomStore had a limited life time warranty (5 years). As you can see the warranty is no longer valid. At this time The RoomStore can provide a company who could service the items, also the manufacture is out of business. again the items are out of warranty.

It appears the RoomStore's records are incomplete. The first time the handle was replaced was when the sofa was taken into the shop to be refurbish, that handle lasted one day before it pulled off. That began the round [redacted] of me calling service to have the handle replaced now for the 4th time. The service man told me this time when he replaced the handle that the problem is that the arm of the sofa is broken. It was the broken arm that is breaking release handle.  I don't understand why this has taken so long to figure out if that is the problem. This sofa has been a mess from the beginning. A piece of "[redacted]" furniture should not fall apart with less that normal usage.

The RoomStore replaced the handle but the consumer still thinks the arm needs support we will pick up the item and reinforce the arm for the consumer. If any other manufactures defects occur we will be more the happy to repair per our warranty.

 When they made the repair last year they said that it said the mechanical/ framework was guaranteed for life, only the fabric and leather had a 5 yeat limited warranty.  It is too bad I didnt think to reacord the call.  I simply want them to repair and tighten the arms of the loveseat and the pull out sofa sleeper at no charge. Im not asking for $.

Thank you for your response, but it is disheartening to watch The RoomStore's TV commercials about the "massive liquidation selloff' knowing that in good faith I made an agreement to buy that bed at full price and that The RoomStore doesn't have to uphold the "reselect" part of their agreement, instead selling off beds and other merchandise that I would like to choose from. Per the "reselect" option, I would not get a refund and can only receive store credit towards another bed and/or other items in the store. Please allow me to do this or, due to The RoomStores new circumstances, please allow me to return the bed completely and to cancel the agreement altogether for a full refund of the $433.29 (10%) down I paid already for the bed. Thank you.

I do not know how the consumer saw the same item on the floor as we no longer carry the item and the parts are on order with the manufacture and again the consumer did not want any other option so at this point we are waiting for the manufacture to send the parts.

This is my second response and as I explained in my first response the consumer signed for what she purchased new what she was getting and the RoomStore has done nothing wrong and it seems that they are just not happy with what they purchased. The RoomStore has not received any calls from the consumer to the corporate office trying to work with us. Again if there is any question please call our corporate office.

The consumer had items delivered august 20th 2013 the items that were delivered were not a platform bed but a panel bed along with a mattress and a low profile box spring. The consumer called in with the problem and the RoomStore sent out a technician who determined that the mattress was sitting so...

low because of the low profile box spring. The consumer was offered to switch out the low profile box with a normal one the consumer chooses not to do so. However we will be more than happy to still allow the box spring to be switch out if the consumer would like which would solve there problem. Thank YouThe RoomStore
