The following is a listing of invoice amounts and corresponding billing periods, along with payments made: 10-21-invoice for billing period 9-18-through 10-19-$new charges due 11-18-This invoice was due 11-18-15; $payment posted to the account on 11-20-15) 11-19-invoice for billing period 10-20-through 11-17-$due 12-17-(past due + new charges + late payment charge = $209.94) 12-21-invoice for billing period 11-18-through 12-17-$due 1-19-(past due + new charges + late payment charge = $214.67)This invoice was due 1-19-15; $payment posted to the account on 1-21-16) 1-20-invoice for billing period 12-18-through 1-18- $due 2-17-(past due + new charges + late payment charge = $343.95) 2-18-invoice for billing period 1-19-through 2-16- $due 3-17-(past due + new charges + late payment charge + $251.42) The customer’s payments did not post to the account by the due date on the invoice; therefore, being carried over into the next month’s invoiceIt is important to note that payments sent via U.SMail should allow business days to post to the account and payments via phone or at a UI local authorized payment location take two business days to post to the account The customer spoke with the Company on 1-23-and the balance owed at that time was $(from the 1-20-invoice $new charges + late payment charge)A new invoice later generated on 2-18- The total balance due as of this date, 2-24-16, is $ with a due date of 3-17-

I have sent a request to have a manager contact this customerOnce resolution is known I will provide a responseThank you

Unfortunately, as mentioned previously, without a copy of the credit report and proper account information, the Company cannot validate the claim nor make any corrections/updates to the credit reporting, if necessary Our records do not show a closed or open UI account under the name and address of the person submitting the claim, therefore, the Company cannot take any further action in the matter

Good morning and Happy New Year.I had our Credit Analyst investigate the matterIt was found that there is no money owing at this time and the analyst corrected MrFrimpong's account to reflect this Also any derogatory credit reporting has been expunged with all three credit bureaus I apologize for the inconvenienceHope this helpedRespectfully,Alison

I have already done this last week as well as complained to all 3 credit bureaus. I have heard nothing from United Illuminating regarding this issue and if this is not resolved... properly and either they remove late payments or remove themselves from all 3 credit bureaus I will seek legal representation and action. They are the only negative on my credit report and are making it so my credit is taking such a hit from them we can not move or buy a home Complaint [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Sincerely, [redacted]

Good morning, I reviewed the complaint and the notes on *** *** accountI spoke with Phil D*** who is a call center supervisor He spoke with *** *** late yesterday afternoon and addressed his billing concernsThe actions that are being taken is the deferred billing is
being removed from his accountThen once that is done, and as a courtesy the bill is being reduced down to $MrDi** informed me that *** *** is satisfied with the actions that are being taken on his account. Hope this has been helpful. Kind regards,Alison

Good morning,The credit for the returned check will be applied to her UI account not the bank.Unfortunately I am unable to determine why the bank would reject her paymentThe Company is not privy to that information for security reasons. I verified in our *** *system that an error was generated on the bank side as "unable to locate account" I have included the error screen as an attachment.A ticket will be entered with the vendor. I am rejecting this response because: This is not satisfactory to meI do not need to have accounts on my credit report when my account should have been transferredI should not have any account at any time showing lateI should have been notified that there was a balance that I was unaware of that was being reported to the credit bureauA payment arrangement should allow the person to be in good standing if they adhere to itI would NEVER want to be a part of a payment arrangement that will NEGATIVELY affect me when I pay on timeWhat is satisfactory to me is to have ALL of this removed from my credit reportI do not wish to speak to any agent on the phone as the customer service from United Illuminating has been unhelpful and lackluster It seems to be in extreme bad-taste to provide consumers with a payment arrangement option, yet mark them as derogatory in their credit reportThis seems to be a bait and switch, to provide consumers with an option, and then use that same option against them.

I checked into this matterOur records indicate that he moved in on 3/15/and was moved out on 1/25/when another party called for service at *** *** *** *** *** ***
I do not see in our records that he called on the dates that he
specified in his complaintI queried his contact number and didn't find anything in our telephone contact system.Unfortunately if he never called to end the service in his name, the Company would have no way to know he was no longer living there and would continue to bill himIf he is disputing his move out date from this location then he would need to prove that he resided elsewhereA faxed lease would sufficeOnce he submits the lease, this can be investigated furtherFax to ***

Good afternoon,I have looked into your concerns about the status of the credit bureau reporting for your closed UI account.No credit report is necessary and I have requested that the account be updated as closed and paid in full.Hope this has been helpful.Many regards,Alison

I am going to have someone reach out to him to discuss the credit reporting and his other concernsIn the meantime, I can speak to the fact that the Company has credit reporting language on its bills, arrangment letters, and the annual "Your Rights" that get sent to every customerThis
language does state that any balance that is outstanding greater than days may be reported to the credit agencies and such reporting could harm their credit rating (including payment arrangements). While the credit reporting can be updated to reflect the current state of his accounts, I can not gaurentee that valid past negative reporting will be changed Thanks,***

An enhancement has been put in place by UI that if a customer makes a payment of the full bill at a UI authorized payment location on the bill’s due date, no late payment charge will be applied to the account if the payment does not post the same day it was madeThe $late payment charge
initially applied to the customer’s account was credited to the account 9/14/

The customer has contacted the Company directly and will be supplying a copy of their credit report for full review
