This site made things so easy for me. My car literally was sold within 24 hours of me listing it. It's cheap to set up and completely worth it!

Read the fine print, once someone messages you to test drive a car you owe $99 when you close you listing-- regardless if the car is sold via Tred. Also, took weeks to be sent a "Tred kit", have to reach out to support to finally receive. Do yourself a favor, just sell your car yourself if you live in WA.

We are so sorry for the delay in getting you your TRED Kid. We are always working to improve our process and our goal is to get your documents to you as quickly as possible. As for the $99 restocking fee, please email [email protected] and they will issue you a refund no questions asked.

I purchased my Mini Roadster on August 11th from Tred Dealership and the car was located in Washington State. I have exhausted my patience and will continue to escalate as I have yet to receive my registration for the car. They keep saying it’s been processed and we will send over to our registration group and get back to you and nothing. It has been well over a month and now closer to 2!!! My temp tags have expired they have not sent replacements so my car is just sitting. ITS RIDICULOUS AND THIS DEALERSHIP IS A SHAM!!!

Hi ***,I'm so sorry about this. I contacted Dan our head of dealer operations just now and he will be reaching out with an update on your registration and tags. Please follow up with me directly if you do not hear from him.Thank you for your patience.Cal

I purchased a vehicle in August of 2020 and was told my paperwork would be taken care of and I did everything TRED asked. I have yet to receive the registration of the vehicle. The tags are due to expire this month. This was not supposed to take this long. I have emailed and called. So far they only answer emails, but even them communication is horrible. I was told I would get an update from from the “title team” two days from 9/15/20. As of writing it is 9/26/20 with no update. My temporary registration is due to expire and I have no update from TRED. HORRIBLE. I can see many others are also experiencing the same problem. DO NOT BUY FROM TRED.

Thank you for your patience. I am so sorry for the delay. We are dealing with a slight backlog in title / registration transfers due to the pandemic, protests, and the rapid growth of our platform. Rest assured that we are working hard on your car deal and we will deliver accurate transfer of your title / registration.

Moving forward, I would like you to use Dan R, our Director of Dealer Operations, as your personal point of contact. You may reach him at ***@tred.com. He can provide a thorough update on your deal, as well as provide any options that you might have.

I bought a car for my daughter through Sellers use with Tred. We have paid for Tag and Registration for 8 weeks now and no Tags or registration. I have placed calls and submitted chats no solution! When you call you are on hold for at least 45 mins and no one can resolve the issue!
Don’t do any business with this company if you need efficiency or professionalism

The online car dealer doesn't mention the restocking fee clearly when customers list their car on their website.

4.13 If your vehicle doesn't sell, then after your listing is deactivated, we charge a restocking fee if you connected to a TRED-sourced buyer. The restocking fee is $99 and partially covers our costs incurred marketing your vehicle.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

I had to file Revdex.com to get your attention as you stopped replying to my emails and now you now want me to contact you again when you should have been keeping me up to date this whole time. Not once have you emailed me with a status unless I emailed you. It is not acceptable. I have been told "two weeks" for months.
Don't have time to deal with this anymore. Need refund and original title.

Sincerely

Don’t sell your car with these guys. They charge you $19 to post the listing, and then if you take it down, they charge you $99 for doing LITERALLY NOTHING. Scam.

My husband and I purchased a vehicle through TRED on June 20, 2020. I was told that we would receive our registration and plates within 30-45 days. It is now September 11, 2020. We have yet to receive any official registration or plates. We are beginning to wonder if this is a scam. We have called TRED numerous times, but rarely can get through to customer service on their phone lines. We have used the chat feature and keep getting told to wait. We originally were given a temporary registration for the State of California, where we purchased the vehicle. That temporary registration expires on 9/15/20 and we were given a new temporary registration for the state of Washington that will expire in October. We really just would like our official Utah Registration.

TRED touts that they save the convenience of avoiding the DMV...but I sure much rather would have gone to the DMV knowing that everything is in order. At this point, I feel very uncertain as to what is going on. We sent them $14,865 for the vehicle purchase price, for their services, and $1,153 of that was to be paid by TRED to the State of Utah for taxes, title and registration. We currently have a vehicle without any title, registration and plates.

I also contacted our credit union who is the lien holder and they have not received the title. They stated that normally a dealership is supposed to get the title to them within 30 days. We currently are closer to 90 days out.

I purchased a vehicle through Tred back in June and was told I would receive my title and registration within 30-45 days. I have not received any items and even through multiple outreaches to their registration department have not received a single update or response on the status of my registration. My provided temporary registration has expired and this is a vehicle that I need to be able to drive.

I bought my car in June, it’s now September and I’m still dealing with issues regarding my purchase. The whole process initially was a nightmare and I was on the phone for hours bouncing back and forth between TRED and my lender. I finally got my car, now 3 months later I still don’t have my plates. Recently I got a notice from my lender that they are not on the lien, called to figure out what’s going on and apparently the seller didn’t release the paper work. I’m currently on hold after being disconnected multiple times, because the lines were at capacity the first time. My issue is still not dealt with, my second set of temporary tags is about to expire and It seems like my loan is now in jeopardy because of TREDs incompetence as a business. Good luck ever getting in touch with anyone, getting a response, or having anyone actually follow through with what they claim they say they will do. The hold music makes me want to stab my ear drums out. This was my worst fear in trusting in a start up. STAY AWAY, buy a car ANYWHERE else.

Hi ***,
I am so sorry for the inconvenience. If you are still having issues please contact ***@tred.com. He will be your direct point of contact in getting you answers.
Thanks.

Flawless first experience selling through Tred. They're awesome and will disrupt the used car market for sure! Keep it up!

I purchased my vehicle with Tred Los Angeles back in April. I still have NO paperwork no registration nothing stating this is my vehicle. Ive talked, emailed, and even texted with Tred about the registration paperwork and I was told 2 months ago I would receive something in 2 weeks. I've sent them the paperwork they requested from me TWICE through priority mail and the company is still stating they haven't received anything. Both return envelopes were pre addressed to Tred and sent from Tred so where is my paperwork? They have LIED to me over and over for the last 5 months now the tags are due this month and I don't know what to do anymore but report them.

I purchased a vehicle from a private owner via TRED on March 26, 2020. Representatives of TRED advised me via phone that I would have the title and vehicles registration for the vehicle within 30 to 45 days. It is now September 1, 2020 and I have yet to receive anything regarding my vehicle purchase. I've contacted representatives of TRED via phone approximately 15 to 20 times regarding this issue. Constantly I've been told that my vehicle title and registration will be sent to me before the end of the week. It's been 16 weeks and I'm tired of waiting.

Be very careful of TRED.
I will explain what they did to me. I wanted to sell my car as an interim seller. This is legal. Initially, I asked a TRED employee over the phone if this was doable, and the answer was yes. In retrospect, I know that he did not have an understanding of 'selling a car as interim owner.'
I went through the registering and listing of my car. Two weeks later, I had a test drive scheduled through TRED. On the way to the test drive, I phoned TRED to get more information/support on any special issues or procedures about selling as an interim seller. I wanted to get it right without snafus. They put me on hold for 15 minutes, then texted me back saying I could not sell my car through TRED. They then removed me from the platform via text, WHILE ON THE WAY TO A TEST DRIVE. They did not take my call backs. I asked that I be emailed back by Helen, but was never contacted.
I believe strongly that these people are either on the way out, or very new and do not understand the intricacies of the business. This was a really upsetting, time-consuming, and negative experience for me. I would be very careful of TRED.

Hi ***,
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please reach out to ***@tred.com if you have any further questions about why you were removed from the platform.
Thanks,

I signed up with TRED to sell my car on Monday, and it sold on Tuesday. I will definitely use this service again. I doubt that I will ever again trade in a vehicle to a dealership.

Tred service overall: excellent.
CUSTOMER service requires URGENT improvement.

I’m over the moon that my vehicle sold within 5 days of posting, even though it was considered $500 overpriced. I’ve posted my vehicle for sale many other times on multiple sites with almost no results whatsoever. I love that Tred has connections with so many other sites, I think that greatly increases visibility at a very low cost.

During the selling process, everything seemed straightforward to both the buyer and myself. However we were both anxious to buy/sell. I hadn’t received the necessary Tred package required to make the sale and the buyer wanted to pick up on day 3. I tried calling support for guidance on how to proceed per their instructions in-app, but after 6 phone calls and a voicemail later throughout the day, no response. Finally their business hours ended. So we had to wait a day.

The next day after business hours began, I called AGAIN after not receiving a call back. The person on the phone was helpful, polite, and cooperative. He gave me what I thought was the perfect explanation. I met the buyer thinking all was well. However the buyer was told contradictory information (and showed me screenshots of HER conversation with Tred) so we needed to talk to another rep to get on the same page. We both called multiple times and waited...and waited...no response.

The transaction ended up being successful, but it was very stressful and frustrating for both the buyer and myself. I would absolutely recommend Tred to someone else, but warn them to be very aware that customer service was painfully slow to respond.

Hi. I bought my car off of Tred at the end of July and I still haven’t received any of the paperwork or my title information. I called the guy who I bout the car from and he said that Tred never sent him the envelope to mail the title. This cost me extra money and I could have done this myself. Tred advertised that this is easy and nothing about this was easy.

TRED Response • Sep 08, 2020

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact ***@tred.com for any title questions. He will be your direct point of contact to get this resolved.

Ok, I was totally blown away with how simple TRED made such a stressful ordeal of selling my car. I literally sold it to the first interested buyer after the test drive. That was luck on my part, but it was everything leading up to that point and most importantly how TRED took care of everything after that by tending all the financials within 8 hours. I am a believer and have already share my experience with friends and family.
