Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedI have already contacted GCU collections department and made a partial payment and will follow up with them for this adjustment of balance Regards, [redacted]
After reading the response by Grand Canyon University I can honestly say that Tara P [redacted] and MsL [redacted] are very confused regarding the days they tried to reach me with no success I can also say that no one reviewed the policies regarding how much time a student has to withdraw from a class before being charged the full balanceI dropped the class on 4/23, this was on a Saturday, as soon as I received my grades and feedback from the instructorThe instructor took points off of my gradepoints were taken off because I wrote too many words (words over but after taken off the title page and references I was only words over), she took another points off because she claimed I didn't respond to enough students in my discussion post, another points were taken off because she claimed I was late on one assignmentFirst of all, I have never heard of such a policy that an instructor takes off points for extra words, secondly, I called MsL [redacted] to find out how many posts I had to write each week and the information she gave me was wrong, and lastly, I never handed anything in late! My submission date reflected the due dateI took a picture of this and sent it to my instructor! She informed me that I would have to speak to the technical department! It was very easy to see that the date I submitted the paper was on the due dateMy work for the first week was excellent but all points that were taken off could've been avoided had someone told me the policies, rules, and showed me how to navigate, etcI attempted to reach my instructor via e-mail, telephone call with a voice mail, and then I sent her a text messageHer response to me was to speak to my enrollment counselorI was never given a walk through and because of this, I was lost! Tara P [redacted] tried to call me one time and I returned her callShe was celebrating her birthday and apologized for not getting back to meThis was at the end of the day, before school startedShe also told me that she was taking the next days off She told me she would call me Monday, days before school began and she did not call meI never received a welcome call from MsL [redacted] or Tara P [redacted] If Tara P [redacted] or MsL [redacted] gave me a welcome call and explained the policies, rules, and withdraw deadlines then I would like to hear this taped conversation! Or let the Revdex.com listen to it.Grand Canyon University records each and every phone call that they have with the studentsThese conversation must be taped for a reason! Let Grand Canyon do an investigation and listen to the recorded telephone callsOnce Tara P [redacted] enrolled me in class I had a very difficult time reaching herShe told me that we would be working together throughout the entire programShe failed to mention that MsL [redacted] was going to be my academic advisorThose conversations are also taped and recordedGrand Canyon University has no right to charge me for weeks of classes when I attended for one weekI have NEVER heard of such strict withdraw policiesThis is something that is vital for all students to knowIn other schools, this information is given to all students, in writing, when you register for classesThis school doesn't have a registration office, or a financial aid officeBefore Tara registered me for classes I was mislead by herShe didn't have the answers so she just said what I needed to hear, especially in regards to her being the only advisor I would haveNo one tried to contact me to help with the LoudCloud systemIf I was told by Tara that she would be my only contact person then why did I have to speak to four different people? Before classes began, I spoke to MsL [redacted] and she asked me if I had done the walk through yetI informed her that I had not done this yetShe told that this was something that Tara would be reviewing with meThis failed to happenI did miss one appointment but we spoke the following dayThe taped conversations will reveal the truthThis is why they tape themNo one ever talked to me about the withdraw processI was offered to take the class over but after all of this confusion and unanswered questions I decided that this school was not a good fit for meI refuse to pay for a service that wasn't renderedAs I have mentioned before, Grand Canyon University should make their withdraw policy known to each and every studentI am sure this has happened to others! Please listen to the taped conversationsLet the Revdex.com hear the taped telephone conversation that I had regarding the withdraw policies, the review of the Loud Cloud system, and the promise of being my only advisorThis is far from being settledThe truth has to be revealed and this should be taken very seriously!Thank you, [redacted] ***
I spoke to Dan S [redacted] and Brittany D [redacted] regarding the $1,for the stipend that they sent to meIf I should not have received the stipend then I should return it to the company that gave me the stipendI did not tell GCU to send me the stipend, the finance department sent it to meSo if I did not deserve the stipend then it should go back toward my student loans or to my company not to GCU if I am not enrolled in any classesGCU will not give me a bill stating that I owe $1,for the stipend, so why should I give them money and I can't see in writing what I owe the money for, when you pay a bill you need to know what the bill is for and they will not give me a bill with stipend on it for $1,GCU is trying to scam me out of $1,and holding my BS degree and transcriptsPlease give me my BS Degree and transcripts and (0) out my balance because I don't owe GCU any money
Dear Revdex.com,Grand Canyon University (“GCU”) is in receipt of Ms [redacted] rebuttal comments and we value the opportunity to respond The response has been reviewed by the Military Regional Director of Operations – Chris La [redacted] and, based on that review, he has provided the following response: Unfortunately at this time, GCU is unable to accommodate the request made by Ms [redacted] to award a full scholarship for the cost of the retake course.GCU generously offered a settlement for Ms [redacted] which authorized a partial scholarship towards her next course in return for the misunderstanding of GCU student admission policies. In addition, although there was some confusion on Ms [redacted] behalf, GCU did find multiple instances in which communication was provided to Ms [redacted] informing her of the requirements to keep her GPA in good standing Specifically, the following timeline was identified:• 6/21/– Email was sent to Ms [redacted] informing her that she had been accepted with specifications and outlining GPA requirements• 6/21/– GCU Welcome Call was conducted by Ms [redacted] Student Service Counselor (SSC) informing her of the GPA requirements• 10/6/– GCU SSC spoke with Ms [redacted] and discussed GPA requirement of maintaining a B+ in her current course• 10/16/– Ms [redacted] called in to discuss her concerns relating to her instructor• 10/16/– Ms [redacted] spoke with her SSC who informed her that if she were to withdraw from the course, the “W” grade would impact her GPA and her accepted with specifications status, and Ms [redacted] was encouraged not to withdrawal.• 10/17/– SSC Manager spoke with Ms [redacted] to discuss concerns about her professor as well as her current grade in the course The Manager submitted a ticket to have the course reviewed and ensure that the professor was being fair and equitable in the course • 10/18/– SSC Manager followed up with Ms [redacted] to discuss outcome of ticket She informed Ms [redacted] that GCU found the professor to be responsive and providing help as dictated The Manager then advised Ms [redacted] that the best solution at the time was to complete her course and pass with a B+ in order to avoid any GPA dismissals Although Ms [redacted] was informed of the ramifications of dropping her course and how the grade would affect her GPA as well as her acceptance status, Ms [redacted] still made the decision for herself to withdraw rather than complete the course with a passing grade At this time, the settlement to allow Ms [redacted] to receive a partial scholarship for the retake is still available if she wishes to use, or she can choose to sit out of class the full dismissal period and apply for reinstatement when the period is over.GCU takes student complaints very seriously and does everything it can to resolve them in an amicable manner I hope the aforementioned information/actions will bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion Sincerely,Chris La [redacted] Military DivisionGrand Canyon University

however, it was never presented as his only option nor was he forced into the new program Given the substantive feedback offered to Mr [redacted] during each of his courses, the University believes the academic process and his grades were appropriately administered Mr [redacted] was not forced to change programs, but was offered a non-dissertation program offering as a way to complete an advanced program He pursued that option, but it was not a requirement GCU takes student complaints very seriously and does everything it can to resolve them in an amicable manner I hope the aforementioned information will bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion Sincerely, [redacted] ***Executive Director of Student ServicesCollege of Doctoral StudiesGrand Canyon University
Dear BBB,Grand Canyon University (“GCU”) is in receipt of Ms. [redacted] complaint and we value the opportunity to respond. The issue has been reviewed by Regional Director of Operations Dan B [redacted] and, based on that review, GCU has determined that Ms. [redacted] complaint was... appropriately resolved. This determination is based on the following information:On 3/8/16 I spoke with Ms. [redacted] to review the details of her compliant. Ms. [redacted] informed me that she has been waiting for unofficial transcripts from Student Services Advisor Darlene Anderson per her request that was submitted to GCU’s Office of Academic Records on 2/17/16. As of 3/8/16 Ms. [redacted] had not received the transcripts. After reviewing Ms. [redacted] file it has been determined that the $804 unpaid balance on Ms. [redacted] student account is causing her transcripts to be non-releasable per GCU policy. Furthermore Ms. [redacted] account has been with an external collections agency since October 27, 2014. However, as Regional Director of the Business Unit I approved the release of a copy of Ms. [redacted] transcripts as a onetime courtesy so that she can continue her education. On 3/8/16 Ms. [redacted] confirmed that she did receive the transcripts. GCU takes student complaints very seriously and does everything it can to resolve them in an amicable manner. I hope the aforementioned information/actions will bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion. Sincerely,Dan B***Regional Director of OperationsCollege of EducationGrand Canyon University

Dear Revdex.com,Grand Canyon University (“GCU”) is in receipt of Mr*** *** complaint and we value the opportunity to respond The issue has been reviewed by the College of Education- *** *** and, based on that review, GCU has determined that Mr*** complaint
was appropriately resolved This determination is based on the following information:Mr*** participation began in his class which started on 6/24/ Mr*** attendance did not continue into the second week of his class therefore if Mr*** would have notified GCU of his intent to withdrawal he would have been eligible for 75% refund of the course and only responsible for 25% of the tuition plus any applicable fees Mr*** has stated he did notify a counselor via email of his intent to withdraw Mr*** student service advisor and enrollment counselor both checked for any documentation on 11/18/2010 when the SSA spoke with Mr*** and neither counselor had received any request The SSA notified Mr*** to review all sent emails and if he shows documentation of a request being sent the university would review his request In addition to the above information, GCU continued to reach out to Mr*** to resolve his balance; however no further contact was made by Mr*** As a result, due to his balance going unresolved the University moved Mr*** account to collections Although to date Mr*** still has not provided any documentation to validate his request to withdraw from the University within the required refund period, in the interest of good customer service the University is willing to adjust Mr*** balance to reflect his attendance as if he did request to withdrawal within the first week In doing so, Mr*** balance will be reduced from $to $which will still be owed to the company holding his balance as that is the amount that is still unpaid on Mr*** behalf GCU takes student complaints very seriously and does everything it can to resolve them in an amicable manner I hope the aforementioned information/actions will bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion Sincerely,Matthew NalanCollege of EducationGrand Canyon University

do not accept this action; I have completed the twelve credits of last pay
period, I maintained the GPA required by (GCU) during last pay periodThe
assigned adviser should have been aware of payments made from my FASFA, yet
lacked in informing me of the (next) pay period shortageTo my knowledge of
the class ending in 3/12/17, I still had enough funds to be awarded said
stipend (period)I do not wish to finish these last three courses for it is
literally draining my loans dry when in fact, those future funds are the
awarded refund which were used to pay for future classesPlease issue my

Dear Revdex.com,Grand Canyon University (“GCU”) is in receipt of Ms*** ***’s complaint and we value the opportunity to respond The issue has been reviewed by the Regional Director of Operations, *** *** Based on that review, GCU has determined that Ms***’s complaint
was appropriately resolvedThis determination is based on the following information:In Ms***’s complaint she feels she should be entitled to an over-awarded stipend check She received a stipend check in the amount of $3,in February, GCU does inform its students that per Title IV regulations stipends are to be used for educational purposes onlyThe reason why the stipend was not for the correct amount was primarily caused by a schedule change On January 9, Ms*** made a request to change her program of study from a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education to a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature She had her program change take effect on February 5, She was currently in a course (***) which was scheduled to complete on March 15, This means her Student Advising team had a deadline of March 15, to schedule her new classes for her new programThe GCU Accounting department cut her next scheduled stipend on February 10, but there were no future courses scheduled at that point due the program changeOur Student Advising team did get the future courses scheduled on February 18, but by that point the stipend had already been sent to the student. Ms*** was told twice to return the stipend (phone calls on 2/18/and 2/26/15) to cover her out of pocket obligation within two weeks of the stipend being cutEven though the stipend was for the incorrect amount she would have received a stipend $for the current academic year (AY) had she stayed in her current program of studyThe team also instructed her that returning the money would be required in order to fund the remainder of her educationHer current balance is $and as long as she continues to the next course, she will then be eligible for $as a Persistence Scholarship (only if she passes the next course) and this would then bring her balance to $which she would be responsible for. I called and left a voicemail with Ms*** on May 27, and May to explain the situation and offer my assistanceShe did email her Student Advising team on May 27, in response to this situationIn the email she stated she already cashed and spent the stipend; however, she would only be able to do a payment plan of $per monthAs long as Ms*** is willing to make $monthly payments then we should be able to make an arrangement at a later date to help scholarship her on the rest of the outstanding balance as long as she maintains her current GPA or better (3.45)As soon as I speak with Ms*** I will inform her that we also have a university appeal process she can completeI will email her the appeal form and provide her with further instructions.GCU takes student complaints very seriously and does everything it can to resolve them in an amicable manner I hope the aforementioned information/actions will bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion Sincerely,*** ***Regional Director of Operations Grand Canyon University

Sincerely,Dan B***Regional Director of OperationsCollege of EducationGrand Canyon University

was appropriately resolved This determination is based on the following information:Mr*** participation began in his class which started on 6/24/ Mr*** attendance did not continue into the second week of his class therefore if Mr*** would have notified GCU of his intent to withdrawal he would have been eligible for 75% refund of the course and only responsible for 25% of the tuition plus any applicable fees Mr*** has stated he did notify a counselor via email of his intent to withdraw Mr*** student service advisor and enrollment counselor both checked for any documentation on 11/18/2010 when the SSA spoke with Mr*** and neither counselor had received any request The SSA notified Mr*** to review all sent emails and if he shows documentation of a request being sent the university would review his request In addition to the above information, GCU continued to reach out to Mr*** to resolve his balance; however no further contact was made by Mr*** As a result, due to his balance going unresolved the University moved Mr*** account to collections Although to date Mr*** still has not provided any documentation to validate his request to withdraw from the University within the required refund period, in the interest of good customer service the University is willing to adjust Mr*** balance to reflect his attendance as if he did request to withdrawal within the first week In doing so, Mr*** balance will be reduced from $to $which will still be owed to the company holding his balance as that is the amount that is still unpaid on Mr*** behalf GCU takes student complaints very seriously and does everything it can to resolve them in an amicable manner I hope the aforementioned information/actions will bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion Sincerely,Matthew NalanCollege of EducationGrand Canyon University

lacked in informing me of the (next) pay period shortageTo my knowledge of
the class ending in 3/12/17, I still had enough funds to be awarded said
stipend (period)I do not wish to finish these last three courses for it is
