Readers Service’s response to my Revdex.com complaint with disbel8if.  The date of their initial contact with me
appears to be accurate.  That is the only
thing in their reply that is accurate.
This reply
is to dispute their characterization of events and to set the record straight.
It is true
that I received a phone call from one of their representatives in Oct
2015.  As I understood her spiel was that
I was to received 5 magazines of my choice and a gift of a diamond men’s watch
for the payment of $39.95 that night and then another payment of $39.95 the
following month electronically withdrawal from my checking account.  These terms are what I agreed to.  Much to my surprise,  Primetime readers withdrew another $39.95 in
January.  At which time I wrote cancel my
account on the bill which said due in Feb. 
After they once again withdrew $39.95 in Feb and Mar.  and  In
accordance to federal law I send a written revocation of their direct debit
authorization.  This request was honored.
Then in the
first part of April, I send a separate written request to cancel my
account.  On Apr 13 I received a form
reply only re[redacted]d their policy.  No
where did they once disputed my reasons for my cancellation request.
In May 2016
a representative,  told me via phone that
I could not cancel because I had only made 5 payments and that I had 24 more
payments yet to make.  This was the very
FIRST time  I was ever made aware that
their terms was for a period in excess of 24 months.  This would have totaled to more than $1100
for five magazines subscriptions or $231 per magazine.  An exobriant cost.  If in fact Primetime would have been fore right
and fully disclosed their terms during the initial phone call.  I would have never agreed to their
offer.  I believe that any reasonable
person would have also declined their offer.
At this time
I sent a request for debt validation specifically asking for a copy of the
signed agreement on May 25, 2016 via certified mail.  This request was ignored.  I sent a second request for validation and to
receive a copy of the signed written service agreement.  The3 second request was also ignored.
Then on 2
Aug 2016.  I was forced to file a formal
complaint with the Revdex.com.
I am happy
to say that my issue has been resolved to my satisfaction.  Even though it took nine months and
assistance from the Revdex.com.
 
After
reviewing the many other complaints  against this company.  I do not understand why the [redacted]’s
office has not closed down this business due to its highly unethical and
questionable legal business practices.

After receiving your letter, customer care spoke with the customer. We finally reached her on December 11, 2015. The representative made sure that the records were cleared. The customer should not receive any further notices.

I was never notified that I could not cancel any subscriptions. When the magazines arrived I called the company and was told I had to pay and did not have a choice to cancel.  That was NEVER explained to me.

The customer care department has reviewed the correspondence you sent. Their research does not show this person as ever being a customer of ours. The name, address and phone number supplied, does not appear in our data base.
 
This person should inquire as to what account number the company is referring to, as well as the location of the company calling her. We have been in Lakewood Ohio for 44 years and are very proud of the services we provide. Many times we are confused with other companies simply because we are more accessible than most.
 
The subject this person raises, about a 2007 [redacted] matter, was determined to be a false claim at that time. However, even false claims, cannot be easily erased from the internet.
