US Air Duct & AC Reviews (101)

Review: In February of this year, I had contacted the local representative for US Air to request that the ducts in my home be cleaned, based on a local advertisement. On February 16, 2014 a representative of the company came to my home to clean the ducts and vents since I had recently moved into my new home. As you may be aware that this winter was very cold, the representative would only talk to me outside and would not come in the house. I should have had my suspicions at that point but I continued listening to his sales pitch. He had tried to talk me into a cleaning system worth about $2,000, when all I wanted was the special cleaning for about $149. I am currently on a very tight income due to my recent house purchase and explained this in full to him, but he said he would not clean the vents unless I agreed to a guaranteed lower price at about $900., which would sanitize my system.

I finally allowed the work to be done, and within less than a half hour he was out of my house. I had asked him for the reasoning as to why the cost was so high, but he just said it was because of special chemicals being used. He charged my credit card (again he would not go into my home where my family was located – another suspicion that I missed), disconnected the vacuum and left. At that time I also noticed that the bill was calculated incorrectly. I was charged $900 plus 6% tax which should have been $954. My credit card was charged $969. (see copy of credit card bill attached).

At this price, never once did this representative go more than five feet into my house. I went around my home and started removing some vents to check for cleanliness and found quite a bit of dust still on the vents. This should have been something the representative should have done as part of his expensive half hour job.

I had contacted the management and was referred to “Mary”. I explained my dissatisfaction with the service as well as the price. She indicated that the local company would contact me again and send another representative to my home to review the cleaning. Not once had I been contacted again. I called the office in Maryland once more time, and was told that any further contact should be made in writing.

I am extremely upset that at this price the service was handled in this manner. Not only would I not recommend this service to anyone I know, I do plan on contacting the Revdex.com if I do not receive a refund for this service. Technically, the only service I received was a vacuuming of one vent at a cost of almost $1,000.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of the services provided. I would agree to pay for the initial cleaning if necessary ($149), but any costs above and beyond that initial cost should be reimbursed due to improper service.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear **. [redacted],

With reference to the

complaint made by **. [redacted], according to the invoice she signed the

technician provided the estimated services of $959. The service she had performed was a air duct

cleaning, sanitizing with chemical application and dryer vent cleaning. This also included an electrostatic filter

that was ordered and shipped separately.

Since the services were performed on Sunday, we didn’t notice that she

had been overcharged until the following day.

As soon as we could, a credit was issued to her account for the

overcharged $10.

She signed the invoice (copy

can be provided upon request) indicating that she approved the completion of the

work and signed again to say she was satisfied with the work completed. If she did not want this work done, then she

should not have approved it on the day the service was completed.

We ask that you encourage the

customer to follow our dispute resolution, as agreed to by her signature, on

the reverse of her invoice. If she had

notified us by phone that she had not received the follow up visit, we would

have corrected the situation.

Sincerely,

After numerous phone calls to speak to someone about the way the service was performed, I was directed to a manager named Mary the following day. She had informed me that the local company would contact me again to send another representative to review the work done and see if the cleaning was actually performed correctly as indicated. Again, not once had I been contacted again, and when contacting the Maryland office, I was told that any further action should be made to them in writing. On March 22, 2014 I wrote a letter to the company and did not receive one response, which is why I have contacted the Revdex.com. I am a very patient person but extremely dissatisfied with the way this company has handled this customer, and will not refer this company to any others that I know have been researching companies for vent cleaning.

Review: This company advertises low cost air duct cleaning. They come in your home, with shoddy equipment (aka a wet/dry vaccuum) and then proceed to use scare tactics to get you to upgrade to a supposed "mold removal" They don't use any fancy equipment or materials, so how they can charge over a thousand dollars for the cleaning is outrageous. The guy even coughed to make it look like he was bothered by the supposed "mold" even though after he sent me the pictures, I could tell there WAS NO MOLD there.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for the "mold" that was supposedly removed but wasn't there.

Response:

Dear Sir,

Review: The representative showed me pictures, he clai** he took of all the duct work in our home and that each duct showed mold in them.

I was very upset as we had just recently moved in the home. Then he began with the sales pitches that ranged from $1350 down to $250.

This man is not a licensed mold inspector and was not qualified to make such a claim, which we did not know at the time. After some research

on mold, it was noted that only a qualified, licensed mold inspector is allowed by law to identify mold as such. I sent the company an email

requesting the Mold Inspector's license number. I have had no reply to date. I was scammed out of $250.00 thinking the "treatment" he made

would help slow the growth of the mold and save my furnace from eminent destruction from the mold. I called the office to request a refund

and the lady told me to sign the back of the contract and send it with a request for the refund. I read the contract very well and if I had signed it

all my rights would be taken away.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a refund of $250 - 55. I had a coupon for $55.00 to clean my air ducts

so it would only be fair to pay for that (work which they did). So, I would request $195.00 and

if they are going to tell people they have mold in their home, then they should have a

licensed, certified mold inspector to verify that there is mold in their home.

With reference to the

complaint made by **. [redacted], according to the invoice she signed the

technician provided the estimated services of $250. The service she had performed was an air duct

cleaning, sanitizing with chemical application and dryer vent cleaning. He also left her with an estimate to further

It is the customer that can choose to have these services performed. Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Yes, your technician provided an estimate for the services that you felt were necessary at the time of your visit, but with exaggerated and misleading price. In March 2013, your technician came to my house and told us that it normally cost $3000 for our sized house (i.e. 2000 square feet) to do mold cleaning. He would give us a deep discount price at $1500. Yes, “it was the customer that could choose to have these services performed”, but your technician extremely overstated the necessity of performing this kind of work, which we had no knowledge about this cleaning work at time. We told him we did not want to do it because it was too expensive. He called and convinced his “manager” to give us further discount at $1200 plus tax (i.e. $1272) with 3-year warrantee, which we later figured out he might play a sales trick. We asked him what the 3-year warrantee would do. He told us your company would do mold inspection and apply anti-mold chemical free for every six months but he never mentioned any additional cost. We misleadingly thought it was a good deal because we got the mold inspection and applying anti-mold chemical without any cost for every six months free. So my wife asked if we could get five-year warrantee. He called his “manager” again and said his manager was OK with five-year warrantee. Therefore, we agreed to have the service. He started explaining the contract terms and emphasized free warrantee, but never mentioned there was a $39 fee for every warrantee trip. We made big mistake to sign the contract without reading it carefully, which we did not realize you were such a terrible company. After the technician completed the work within 30 minutes, we were shocked and questioned him why he charged so much money for less hour work. He said the anti-mold chemical was very very expensive and you would get five-year warrantee to apply this expensive chemical. We mistakenly trusted him or your company and did not file any complaints until we tried to schedule a warrantee inspection and figured out there was a $39 trip charge. After I requested to speak with a manager on around September 9, a manager said he would ask his company to waiver this trip fee for us and he would call me back to confirm the waiver. I never get a call from him. I left two messages to receptionist but never heard from him. I asked another company to come to my house having estimate for the same job. They offered much lower price than I paid services to your company. After I read online comments regarding your company at [redacted] and [redacted] I felt that I should do something to ensure no more people to be rip-off by your company.

Yes, my invoice in the box where the five year warranty is marked it states there is a $39.95 travel time fee. But your technician or sales person misled the warranty and fee. He never mentioned the $39.95 charge. Yes, I had the option to refuse any services that were offered. I made BIG mistake to trust your sales person or your company without reading the invoice, which your technician played some tricks. Review: I am trying to get in touch with US Air Duct and AC. They are located at [redacted]. Their listed phone number is [redacted]. I signed a 5-year cleaning contract with them in July 2012 for $1200 when I bought my new house. They were to come seasonally to clean vents, do any maintenance, etc. They never came back for any service in a year and now the listed number is not working. I think I was scammed. I have no way of getting in touch with them. The website listed for them is also not a real site. I reached out to USA Air Duct and Cleaning and one of the representatives told me he knew which company I was speaking about and that it is a scam. They said that this company poses as their reputable company to rip off consumers. I am very concered to get in touch with them to get a refund. I do not want to do business with criminals. And this is a large sum of money.Desired Settlement: I would like the full amount of $1200 credited to my [redacted] account. I can provide transaction details and proof of payment.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Review: On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, I hired them to clean my furnace ducts and dryer vent. I had an $89 coupon for this service. They brought in a shop-vac, attached it to one of my living room vents, and then suctioned out the bottom of my furnace and cleaned out the dryer vent. The technician said that since I had never had this done before (I had just moved in and furnace was replaced a few years ago by previous owners), the cost would be a "a bit more expensive". I was never given an estimate of the cost. The only additional thing I authorized was installation of a UV lamp, as I have some issues with bronchitis. Admittedly, when they cleaned the dryer vent, it was quite clogged. However, while cleaning the dryer vent which goes thru the attic, the technician stepped on the sprinkler pipe, breaking it loose. I suddenly had water coming out of ceiling lights, furnace vents, around the smoke detectors, flooding the walls and carpet on the bedroom level and soaking the ceiling in the kitchen and dining area downstairs. I had to call 911 for the fire company to come and turn off the water to the sprinklers. There were workmen and firemen running all over my home, and water gushing everywhere. It was at this point I was presented with a bill for a couple of thousand dollars. I was overwhelmed and flustered and I put it on my credit card. Since then, as the weather has gotten colder, I have opened a few other vents in my home and I get hit in the face with debris and dust every time. I tried calling the company to speak to the owner (or someone of responsibility) but have been unable to speak with anyone other than the woman in customer service who just keeps referring me to the dispute resolution procedure. I am so angry at the havoc they have caused, and especially their cavalier attitude toward what is essentially highway robbery.Desired Settlement: Full refund of my money minus $89 plus 6% tax ($94.34). I will return the UV lamp if they request.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear Sir,

With reference to the

complaint made by **. [redacted], the

technician arrived at the customer’s home on November 24, 2013. After

inspecting the HVAC system, the

technician prepared a detailed written estimate for the required services

including the cost. After receiving signed approval for the estimated services

(deep cleaning and mold treatment for the AC system as well as dryer vent deep

cleaning) the technician and his helper performed the services. Part of the estimated work also included the

installation of an UV lamp and ordering an electrostatic filter (filter was

delivered on Dec. 12, 2013 by [redacted]).

The customer received an

Estimate in the amount of $3710.00 for which she signed and accepted. We do not perform any work unless we are

authorized to do so. By signing the authorization to perform services, the

customer agreed to our terms and conditions set forth on the reverse side of

the invoice where it says “Acknowledgment of terms: by signing above customer authorizes performance of the above

services and agrees to the terms & conditions set forth…” In addition the customer signed that she “agrees to pay in full the charges referenced

above.” The customer also signed that she is satisfied with the

job performed where it says “I have inspected the work completed & found it

to be complete and to my satisfaction,”

as well as providing a very positive customer comment of work

satisfaction. We realize that the

sprinkler head was damaged and flooding occurred, but we have requested that

this customer follow our dispute resolution as per our agreement. So if the

customer was not satisfied with the job performed the customer should not have

signed that they had inspected the work

and found the work completed and to their satisfaction.

We provided the customer with

the original services at the agreed $3710 price indicated. As soon as we realized that the

sprinklers were damaged, we sent a second crew immediately to assess the damage

and they started drying the water by pumping it with special vacuums. We used six blowers in order to dry the

carpet. Water from the walls was

observed and dried. The next day we sent another crew, as agreed with the

customer, in order to replace the drywall and do a major construction project

for free as a result of the water damage.

The customer declined all services and sent our crew away saying that her

condo association would take care of it with their own people. Management made every effort to follow up by

leaving numerous messages (documentation can be provided upon request) with no

response from the customer. We were

trying to determine if any further repairs were needed because of the damage

that was done as well as confirming her satisfaction with the work performed. If the customer is still not satisfied with the job

performed we would gladly return to the customer’s home to inspect/correct the

customer’s concerns as within the scope of services paid for on that day as

well as inspecting the damages caused by the broken sprinkler head.

The customer agreed that “all sales are final, no refunds or

exchanges. All deposits are non-refundable.” We performed a job and completed

it to the customer’s satisfaction, as per her signature on the invoice. Since the customer authorized us to perform

the service, agreed to pay in full the total amount of $3710.00, signed that

the work was completed to the customer’s

satisfaction, agreed to our terms and conditions and signed the credit card

authorization and imprint as well as acknowledging receipt of goods and

services, we are requesting that you ask the customer to follow our dispute

resolution.

Sincerely,

USAIR Duct and A/C LLC

In response to their ad for duct cleaning i.e., all vents and 1 return for $49, I contracted this company and 2 technicians came. It was raining out side and both technicians entered the house without using booties! One of them hooked the large vacuum hose to the ceiling vent without removing the register and second proceeded to furnace. After few minutes they told my tenants, who had moved a day before, that the house has mold, before even telling me! When they showed me the so called mold, it was nothing but a dark lint or some dirt around the metal register/tiles. Obviously they have no idea what the mold is supposed to be and were clearly using scare techniques to upset my tenants. They did not remove any vent registers from the ceiling to clean the inside duct area. I did not see them using any brush etc. for cleaning. Since I was not watching them up and down, I doubt they cleaned all vents as per contract. One of them who was viewing the furnace forgot to put the furnace cover back. On leaving, one of the technician told my tenant that he has given me the estimate ($1500) for removing the mold, as if they were hired by my tenants. This company needs to train their technicians to do better job and be ethical. I hope it is not the policy of the company to do poor work, coerce and use scare techniques to get more work. Next day, I called back and asked for the manager (Mary) to report but was given her voice mail to leave a message, which I did, but did not hear back.

Review: We set an appointment with the company to clean the home's ducts and two HVAC systems on 11 November 2013 according to their advertised special: to include full ductwork cleaning, HVAC inspection, and delivery of a electrostatic air filter for both air circulating systems. The advertised fee was $89 per system. [redacted] and his assistant arrived as planned and informed us that the discoloration in both HVAC blower housings was mold and would require a $1,800 fee to remediate. I deferred the service and requested customer references for their company. The technicians did an inadequate job cleaning the two sets of ductwork, misled us about the presence of mold in our HVAC system, and refused to deliver one of the electrostatic air filters offered as part of their advertisement stating that the 2nd system air return would be unable to support its weight. They should have reduced the price of the second system to that of an alternate advertised special of $39, since that offer omitted the air filter. But they did not do so. No company references were ever received. We paid their invoice in full at the time of the service.

We contacted a local licensed air handler professional to perform an additional inspection of the ductwork and HVAC equipment. His personal inspection confirmed that there was no mold in our HVAC system, only normal bacteria growth in the blower motor housings which his staff cleaned manually and treated with an antimicrobial approved for HVAC ductwork.Desired Settlement: Given the failing mark Revdex.com has assigned this company, I have only minimal expectation that USAir will provide a refund of the $50 for a service which they did not fulfill. I plan to file a formal complaint with the State of Maryland if a refund is not received promptly. Thank you for your kind assistance.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear Sir,

With reference to the

complaint made by **. [redacted], the technician

arrived at the customer’s home on November 11, 2013 and provided an estimate

for deep cleaning and sanitizing. When

the customer chose not to approve the estimated service, the technician

provided the basic services as on the coupon from the [redacted] as well as

deep dryer vent cleaning (inside to outside).

This service includes maintenance air duct cleaning, electrostatic

been delivered. These filters are custom

made and not provided by the driver on the day of service, but mailed directly

from the manufacturer. The request for

We are requesting that this

customer follow our dispute resolution as stated and signed for by this

customer on the reverse of the invoice provided. The customer has not tried to contact us in

any regard concerning any deficiencies in service, therefore not giving us any opportunity

to review and correct.

Review: This business advertised the cleaning of duct system with a promotional coupon that discounted the service.

On arrival two individuals with a small vacuum cleaner showed up at my door and requested access to start the service.

I allowed them access and showed the, furnace, vents, and return ducts they were suppose to do. I then went back into

My office to take a client call. Upon finishing my call 30 minutes later I checked on them only to find one individual on his knees vacuuming the floor duct with the small vacuum he bought in. When I asked about the truck mounted unit that I was familiar with, they stated they no longer use that. They explained they were finished and I questioned how they could do all the air vents, return vents,21 point A/C inspection, clean dryer vent in 30 minutes....

They didn't even have the filter they were purpose to leave upon completion of service for the furnace. After 15 minutes of complaining to these to individuals I decided to pay them and take the matter up with their customer service department. I proceeded to write them a check, but they would only take cash or credit cards.(this was not advertised)

When attempting to pay by credit card they wanted to write my credit card number on their invoice to take with them to be billed. I asked were they out of their minds! I told them they would have to call their accounting department and

I would allow for a over the phone billing once I confirmed it was safe.

They explained the would mail the filters that they did not have with them. They were totally non professional!

They did not deliver on any of the claims they advertised on. The didn't adequately clean and provide the service they advertised which left my duct system still with the unhealthy collection of dust and pollen that I had payed them to remove. I now having to contract another duct cleaning service to perform this work...Desired Settlement: Stop advertisement with the coupons claiming to provide services they don't deliver on.

Dear Sir,

With reference to the complaint made by **. [redacted], we have been in direct contact with this customer. He was informed that according to the contract he signed he needed to follow the dispute resolution terms of contract. He said to us that he did not want to do this. The documents he signed on the day of the original service clearly state that all sales are final with no refunds. We explained to him that the services he received that day were exactly those advertised. The ad he presented does not include returns or the furnace. Since we have no way of knowing what size filter his particular furnace requires, these special filters are made to order and shipped. His was delivered on June 7, 2013. Our drivers do not carry swipe card machines and therefore must process a manual transaction when a credit card is used. This is why our documentation provides for several authorizing signatures.

Review: On 11/20/2013,2 men came to my home for air duct cleaning. The equipment they brought was a shop vacuum and a drill with a brush on the end. I questioned all this because none was of professional equipment. Besides him making all the dust in my return vent go all over the place it had very little suction as I had put my hand on the hose and told him the suction was very week, but to make this a short letter I was charged 837.00 total for treatment of what the tech says was black mold, he vacuumed out my furnace and said he sprayed it to rid it of black mold! I told him after he said it was black mold I need to tell my husband, I went upstairs to call him at work and I left him a message because he wasn't available, then the man came upstairs for me to sign the bill with the added charge for black mold treatment. I told him I didn't get in touch with my husband to confirm it yet but he said he already did it and I owed the money, not knowing better (i thought I had to pay him) again I said its a lot of money and my husband didn't answer to give you the ok!! But again he said its too late and already done! :~( I called the company about what happened and my credit card company to make may complaint.I told them how upset I was. The manager was not available until the following monday and I called her ([redacted]) and told her the problem but she said I signed the paperwork and that was that. I told her also that he was there 45 mins and didn't take anything apart nor did he sample the furnace to see if it was black mold and I didn't agree for him to do it that I needed to get the ok with my husband but he had already done it, and she again said I signed the paper! I am still very sick over this whole situation, very dissatisfied and was very taken advantage of. I called 3 HVAC places and asked what they do for vent cleaning and black mold and all said it would need to be sampled first sent out to see what mold it is in order to treat it and it should not be vacuumed or blown away in your home. So if it was black mold it was blown through out my house and they way it was treated was not correct nor safe. Also they said it would take to do all vents ect about a 3-4 hour job to clean correctly plus sent out a sample of this black mold and see where to go from there. I can get statements of the correct way and fashion and safe way to take care of this if it were true black mold. I can't seem to get any help on the business end and my credit card company told me also to proceed with this thru you and other methods because it was in my opinion and in other HVAC opinions a rip off and I was totally taken advantage of. I felt under pressure to sign and give my credit card because he said he got rid of this black mold with out my ok or my husbands approval because I didn't get in touch with him! Please help me in this matter, I am still very upset over the whole deal and if I knew better I would not have signed anything or given my credit card. I would like the refund of 799.00 and the 39.00 for the cleaning vents they can keep for that part. Thank you , [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to pay them the 39.00 for the cleaning out the vents which wasn't even done correctly because dust and dirt was still in the vents but I want the 799.00 for the supposedly black mold treatment.

Avoid this company by all means. They lie and take advantage of their customers. I was told I had mold in my furnace and that I needed special chemicals to clean it. They offer me to pay $700 and have every thing clean and that they will come every six months for two years. When they came I wasn't home. My mom was home and sigh an invoice and lay them. I called back and told me that it was a lie that for that price it was impossible that they will come back. They kept pushing and pushing about the mold issue specially because I have a baby. Later I read about air duct scams and unfortunately I was scammed by this company. That is $700 down the drain.

Review: I called US air for their gold promotion coupon of $89. The coupon states whole house air duct cleaning + fillter + dryer vent cleaning and A/C tune up.

When the technician arrived they asked where the vents were and took a shop vac and cleaned each air vent they didn't clean the air duct system itself from the main unit. The dryer vent was cleaned. I had to ask the technician to check the A/C unit which was suppose to be part of the coupon. The estimsted value of this coupon $199.

I wrote a letter to complain about the service and was told that after reveiw of the service the technicican provided the service as described on the coupon.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund because the coupon states Whole House Air Duct Cleaning not just vent cleaning.

Review: On Thursday, September 18,2014, USAIR supposedly cleaned the vents in our A/C system and the clothes dryer vent. They didn't properly clean the A/C/heat vents and they only vacuumed out the clothes dryer itself! The technician, Michael, showed me a picture, supposedly of my system showing a lot of mold on the A/C coils and blower. Obviously the picture was not a picture of my system but someone else's system (the technician from [redacted] Heating saw nothing in the identical area when he checked the system 4 days later; therefore, USAIR's picture must have been a fake). USAIR wanted to charge me $1,100 to remove the mold from the system and $500 to install an ultra violet light. I told USAIR tech that I wanted to get estimates from two other companies one of which normally did the maintenance on system. After Michael left we found out that the upstairs hvac system was not working. We called USAIR and they refused to return to straighten out what they had screwed up. The person I spoke with at USAIR stated she would pass my call to the supervisor. I told this person that I have severe COPD and needed the A/C. I never heard from anyone! I called [redacted] Heating on Sunday morning and they sent a technician out immediately and he had both systems up and operational in 15 minutes. [redacted] returned on Monday and checked both systems and found no mold in either system and also asked why there were no patches on the vents! In other words USAIR had not done the cleaning of the vents properly.Desired Settlement: I think USAIR should have their licenses to work in Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC pulled since they are a bunch of scam artists.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear [redacted],

With reference to the

complaint made by [redacted], according to the invoice he signed everything

was completed and to his satisfaction when the technician departed. He did call the next day and spoke to the

original technician and the Master technician.

At the conclusion of their conversation, [redacted] admitted that he had

gone upstairs and removed the panel of the unit to look at the area pictured by

the technician. When he went to put the

cover back on, he hadn’t put it in the proper position to activate the safety

switch that turns the unit back on. We

offered to talk him through this process over the phone, but he insisted that

he could not go up there although he already had. If we had returned, there would be a fee

charged for a service call since, to his own admission, we did not cause the

problem. He was unwilling to pay this

fee.

With reference to the

pictures, our technicians routinely take pictures of units and air duct systems

to show a customer what is going on in an area the customer is usually not

willing to crawl. Once these are shown

to the customer, they are deleted. We do

not save a picture to show to someone else down the road.

Sincerely,

Review: On Friday, August 9,2013 two Service men came to my home from the USAir A/C & Duct Company to clean the air ducts in my home. The advertisement indicated that for $79.00 the Company would provide: (1) whole house air duct cleaning (2) free complete A/C tune up (3) basic dryer vent cleaning and (4) washable electrostatic filters. I never received the washable electrostatic filters.

One of the service men checked my air condition while the other service man proceeded to connect the machine to clean the air ducts. The Service who checked my A/C told me that he found signs of mole and rotting parts from an animal that probably came down through the vents. He stated that the rotting animal parts circulating throughout my house was not good for my health. He wanted an additional $1500 to perform a "special cleaning" of the air conditioner and vents. I refused.

Later that evening when I tried to turn-up my air conditioner it was not working. I called the company at ([redacted]) 937-7400 and reported that (1) the service truck that was used had left an oil spot in my drive way and (2) that my air conditioner was not working and asked that a manager call me. No one called. On Saturday I called back and did not receive an answer. I called the 1-888 number that was shown in the advertisement and was told that the office located at the "[redacted]" number was closed on Saturday. My house was extremely hot and because of my health I could not take the heat. I contacted [redacted] Air Conditioning & Heating Company to have my air conditioning check. The service man came out and charged me $165.00 and told me that the furnace switch had been turned off.

I called the office on August 12, 2013 and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with a female by the name of "[redacted]" who identified herself as a supervisor. I explained to her my situation and asked that I be reimbursed for the $165.00 that I had to pay because of the carelessness of her employee. This individual was extremely rude and stated that she did not believe me and that her company had no intentions of reimbursing me.Desired Settlement: I am asking for two things.

(1) Reimbursement of the $165.00 that I had to pay to [redacted] Air Conditioning & Heating due to the carelessness of the employee of USAir A/C & Duct Cleaning.

(2) I would like for them to provide me with the washable electrostatic filters.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear Sir,

With reference to the complaint made by **. [redacted], we have record of only two calls to our office from this customer. On the first call she complained about the leaking oil from the truck. She was told that a manager would need to call with regard to a solution and they would get back to her. The second call was again to complain and to additionally request reimbursement for having called another company to fix a non-working unit. It was explained to her that, according to her signed agreement, she needed to give our company the opportunity to repair/correct any deficiencies in our work. Since we were not given this opportunity, we would not be able to reimburse her for the work done by another company. At this point the customer got verbally abusive and used words not permitted in this forum.

During all of these conversations, it was never mentioned about the desire for the electrostatic filters and her invoice has no record of this request.

Sincerely,

I have had to pay $165.00 to have my air conditioner turned on due to the negiliance of this Company's employee. I want to be reimbursed for the additional funds that I had to spend.

Review: On June 11, 2013 at 1245 PM I called this company to schedule an appointment for air duct cleaning. I carefully explained to the young man, the company representative, that I wanted a price quote for my entire duct system to be cleaned. I specified that I wanted my intake ducts to be cleaned as well as my outtake ducts. He asked me if I had a promo code and I told him promo code 22. He said that that promo code includes intake ducts as well as outtake ducts. Since I was primarily concerned with getting the intake ducts cleaned, I agreed to make a service appointment. The representative also stated what is also stated on the [redacted] advertisement, namely that I would be getting free dryer vent cleaning and free organic deodorizer as well.

On June 17 when the service men arrived at my house one of them, [redacted] asked to see the [redacted] advertisement. After he reviewed the advertisement, I asked him if the total price of the services would be $49.00 plus tax and he said, "yes". He spent at least 10 minutes inspecting my heat pump, which I never asked him to do, nor was it a part of the advertised service. Then he tried to sell me a $240.00 package or $250.00 package which would include cleaning my motor blades and adding anti-bacteria deodorizer. I declined this extra package.

After the men were done vacuuming my outtake vents, they wanted payment. I inspected my intake duct, which was still dusty and asked [redacted] why he didn't clean it. He said that it was not part of the $49.00 service. I told him that I wasn't paying him for the $49.00 service until the agreed upon services were complete. He got on the phone with his supervisor and let me speak to him. The supervisor said that they were not going to clean the intake duct without charging me extra. I told him what I told [redacted] and the supervisor said that he would take me to court if I didn't pay them. I did not pay [redacted] because my intake vents were not cleaned, the deodorizer was not applied, and my dryer vent was not cleaned. I am most concerned about the intake duct as per my discussion with [redacted] and his supervisor.Desired Settlement: I don't want the company to give me any problems with not paying $49.00 plus tax for only a partial service. I want the company to be more professional and truthful to their future customers.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear Sir,

With reference to the complaint made by **. [redacted], our technician arrived at her home and he started our standard inspection of the full HVAC system. All technicians inspect the total HVAC system upon arrival to inform the customer of any problems that may be waiting for them at a future time. The technician then provided her with an estimate for anything that he found and determined was in need of service. It is then up to the customer to accept these options or decline. We do not force anyone to accept services they are not prepared to have performed.

After performing the services described on the [redacted] ad, our technician requested payment for these services. If he had not cleaned the dryer vent as indicated, then why did she not call our offices to say this was the issue? Our ad does not state that return (intake) vents are included. If it had clearly stated this on the ad then we would have performed this service.

We will be pursuing payment for the services rendered.

Sincerely,

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The business failed to address the fact that the phone represetative who scheduled to appointment specifically stated in answer to my specific question that the intake vents were included in this offer. This was the ONLY reason why I scheduled the service because this was the intake vents were my main concern. So I was VERY careful how I communicated with the service representative because I didn't want any disagreements about this later.

In my origonal complaint I forgot to mention that two of my output vents on the upper floor weren't even cleaned. So they didn't even do the absolute minimum even according to their own version of the offer. In addition, the business failed to address in their response with Revdex.com that the deodorizer wasn't applied to my vents. It is not my responsibility as the consumer to supervise the technician and go down a check list of all that they are supposed to do. The technician looked at the offer when they arrived and saw for himself what was to be performed. I will absolutely contest any pursuit of payment.

Review: We just received air duct cleaning services from US Air Duct on Fri 5/9 in the morning, in [redacted], NJ after receiving a coupon in the mail with the promotion code 83, for air duct & dryer vent cleaning for $79.

When the person from US Air Duct came for the cleaning, the prices started jumping. First was an additional charge of $126 for the dryer vent which was supposed to be included. Then, the person asked if we wanted to clean mold for $180. We said yes, but when the invoice came after the service the bill stated $850 (attached). He claimed that he never said $180, and showed other receipts from other customers with an $850 bill as if he was fully prepared to perform this scam on us. He opened only the cover on one vent, took a quick look then started making statements that he sees mold and scaring us that it is a health hazard by just looking at the surface.

The service itself was also very extremely dissatisfactory. The air duct cleaning was done by only vacuuming one vent and he claimed it would clean everything. Also, he put in some substance only in one vent for about 20 minutes for the mold elimination for the $850 service. After further research, this is not a method for mold cleaning and looking at your service offerings this seems to actually be the deodorizing service. Mold cleaning by other companies that are honest businesses take more than half a day, not 20 mins.

At the end, when we confronted him regarding the high cost, he stated that he gave us a complimentary mildew cleaning service ($400 cost) for free. However, no service was actually performed for us.

Overall, the person was very dishonest, a con artist and scammed us into spending the total bill of $1,118 ($79 + $126 dryer vent clean + $850 mold/mildew clean + tax), and the visit was only for 45 minutes. We researched thecompany online and it definitely seems like this is not the first time US Air Duct scamming customers using this tactic, as we can tell by numerous similar complaints on Revdex.com.

We are a VERY dissatisfied customer who feel that we were scammed reporting this to the Revdex.com. I am only willing to pay for the $79 original fee, since unlike US Air Duct, I am an honest person and will be paying for what service we think we received.Desired Settlement: Please refund our credit with the amount of $1,039 ($1,118 billed - $79 what we are willing to pay given service performed).

RE Complaint #10082176

Dear [redacted],

With reference to the

complaint made by [redacted], according to the invoice they signed the

technician provided the estimated services of $1118. The services performed included air duct

cleaning, sanitizing and mold treatment with chemical application and dryer

vent cleaning. These services are well

beyond those outlined on the coupon. They

signed the invoice (copy can be provided upon request) indicating that they approved

of the completion of the work and signed again to say they were satisfied with

the work as it was completed. If they

did not want this work done, then they should not have approved it on the day

the service was completed.

There are many reports to be

found on the hazards of mold and mildew in a home. This is a fact and not a scare tactic. If the customer had a question as to the

service being received, the technician could have explained everything as he

was performing the work. The use of the

fogger is the common method of dispensing the chemicals used to kill mold and

mildew throughout the HVAC system. The

deodorizer is a gel that is sprayed into the system using a spray bottle.

We ask that you encourage the

customer to follow our dispute resolution, as agreed to by their signature on

the reverse of the invoice. If they had

notified us by phone, letter or email that they had questions regarding the

chemicals, we would have been more than happy to send the list to them.

Review: On 18 October 2013 USAIR A/C Duct Cleaning came by my house as scheduled to do a Duct cleaning. My wife was the only one at home and she let them start the cleaning on our Air Ducts. They opened up some vent covers and allegedly cleaned the Ducts. They also used 3M protein pens and swapped the supply vent and told her that we had mold. The service man contacted me at work and said we had mold and he could remove it for $1600. I repeatedly told him that I did not want him to do it and to wait until I got home so he could show me. They left before I made it home and only charged us $44.00. Upon further inspection with an Air Duct professional I discovered that there was no duct cleaning service completed. Nothing was cleaned at all. Apparently they only took the covers off some of the vents and put them back on. I have contacted the local company on three separate occasions and left my contact information for the manager who is never available to call me back. I have waited for three weeks to give the benefit of the doubt and still have not received any contact from her. Their local office number is ###-###-####. What really chaps my hide is that we recently have moved from overseas and bought our first house only to be scammed within three weeks of living in America again. The cost is really not the issue but now it is about a matter of principle. How many hard working people are they scamming on a daily basis? This is not acceptable and I hope you the Revdex.com can put a stop to this unethical behavior. The following information is the serviceman's info provided on the receipt.

Date of Job: 10-18-2013Desired Settlement: I would really like to see this company be held accountable for its actions. Or they should be put out of business on the basis of unethical business practices.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear Sir,

With reference to the

complaint made by **. [redacted], the technician

arrived at the customer’s home on October 18, 2013 and provided the customer

with an estimate for a thorough HVAC system cleaning plus ultra violet lamp

installation. When the customer did not

provide authorization for this service and only wanted the basic service, the

technician and his helper performed the basic services. Upon completion of these services, the

customer signed the invoice where it states that the work was completed to

their satisfaction.

The customer called and spoke

to the manager on October 27, 2103 indicating he was out of town and would call

back to finish the conversation. We have

no record of a return call that was made to our offices. The phone number he has referenced is the

number for our call center. In reviewing

the customer record, there is no note of any contact other than the manager’s

call.

Again, we provide the customer

with an estimate for any services our technicians feel need to be

performed. The customer can choose to

accept or decline these services as they wish.

We do not force them to accept the services.

Review: On 5/18/14 USAIR A/C & Duct Cleaning arrived to clean my central A/C system.

Within 3 minutes of arriving, the technician, Gil, informed me that my system was contaminated by spores. He requested $1,800 to clean the system. I explained that $1,800 was a lot of money and that I was going to replace my system anyway. Gil replied that if I did not clean the system, my new system would be contaminated and could possibly need replacing. It was safer to clean now.

Deferring to his "expertise" in this area I agreed to do the service. I was even given an estimate for replacing my system, not the vents, to further ease my mind.

The cleaning involved 1 vent and the return and took less than 1 hour.

On 6/27/14, I replaced my central A/C. When I told the installers about cleaning the vents to prepare for the new system, I was told that my vents were so old they had to be replaced. They are not manufactured anymore and only conform to my old system. They were useless for any new A/C system.

I now realized that I was lied to. Lied to about the vents possibly corrupting the new system. And lied to about the service itself.

A legitimate spore cleaning treatment cannot be performed in less than an hour.Desired Settlement: Based on the fact that the service was neither needed, or performed correctly, I would like a refund of my $1,800.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear [redacted],

With reference to the

complaint made by [redacted], according to the invoice he signed everything

was completed and to his satisfaction. Since

a different company was hired to install the new unit, we had no way of knowing

whether the air ducts were compatible or not.

When mold and mildew is present in the air duct system, a cleaning with

chemical treatment must be performed. If

this is left untreated, then the customer is breathing in these spores and it

can cause many health issues.

If the customer knew that the

air ducts were going to be replaced, then he should have declined our offer to

clean them and not signed the invoice where it indicates that the service was

complete and to his satisfaction.

We ask that you encourage the

I am rejecting this response because:

I initially declined the cleaning on the basis that my system was going to be replaced.

Review: I responded to an ad for a $45 vent cleaning from this company. They arrived and literally were there for 5-10 minutes and said they were done. They then told me I had extensive mold in my vents and needs an "upgraded service". They saw my nursery and baby room and to me it was very unhealthy for my baby to be breathing that. So, I allowed them to do a "chemical and full vent cleaning program". 1.) I only agreed because the tech told me they were Revdex.com certified and showed me his truck (which advertised as such) 2.) I told him the price seemed high and he assured me it was "cheap" but was a total ripoff after I confirmed pricing. 3.) They did not do a chemical clean and did not provide me with the ingredients as I requested. 4.) I was told they would remove the coil and clean by hand which was never done. I then researched them online and found a laundry list of people with similar experience. This company needs to be investigated and shut down!!!! I'm a fairly informed individual and disputed the charge with my CC company, but many folks are being scammed every day. The tech even showed me the amounts they were charging people as if bragging about it...."3k here, $4k this morning, etc." PLEASE TAKE ACTION!! My baby was sick a day after this cleaning and I'm now very concerned about the lack of oversight and what they really did in my home.Desired Settlement: I am filing this as a back up should my credit card dispute not hold. I want a full refund for the lack of services rendered and total misrepresentation! I appreciate your time and consideration in getting this resolved.

Review: This company sent out a flyer advertising a $49 whole house duct cleaning plus dryer vent cleaning. When I booked the visit over the phone they said they hook, basically, a super heavy duty vaccum up to the furnace and clean all the ducts from there. When the two guys got here with a shop vac I was curious. Then they told me, after looking at the furnace, to clean it would cost extra and that the service covered by the coupon is just for them to go to each individual vent in the house and vac it out - this was in direct contrast to what I was told over the phone.

I sent the service techs away and called the company's office to clear things up. I was once again told how the job 'should' be done (one big vacuuming from furnace) and when I complained about the techs saying something very different I was told the supervisory, [redacted], would call me back. She never did.Desired Settlement: I would like the advertised service at the advertised price. But I would never let the two scam artists they sent to my house last time into my home again.

RE Complaint #[redacted]

Dear Sir,

With reference to the complaint made by [redacted], when our technician arrived at her home on April 26, 2013 he began by making a full check of the HVAC system in order to provide her with a written estimate of recommended services prior to beginning any work. We do this to inform the customer of any inconsistences we may find. Should we not inform them, they would be additionally upset.

Each air duct system in this area is slightly different and requires different operations to perform the needed services. A basic $49 air duct cleaning does not include cleaning of the main furnace unit. This cost was the one provided to her in the estimate. Most systems can be cleaned using the Turbo Jet HEPA filter vacuum, however there are some that cannot be cleaned by this method. In these cases, we go to each vent using an industrial shopvac to clean as much lose material as possible.

As we would certainly welcome the opportunity to service the customer, the service provided by any of our technicians would be similar for her style system.
