RE: Case #[redacted]
Dear Ms. [redacted]:
We are in receipt of your letter dated October 7, 2014 relaying a complaint from Mr. [redacted]. We removed Mr. [redacted]’s address of [redacted] effective 10/3/14.
It takes...

approximately five to six weeks for this process to become fully effective as Valassis pre-prints its mailing labels in advance. Mr. [redacted]’s removal status will remain effective for a period of five years. He will have to contact us again by 9/2/19 if he wishes to renew his address removal for an additional five years.
If after the six week period Mr. [redacted] still receives our package he should contact the local Post Office and inform them that Valassis is no longer printing a piece for Mr. [redacted] and therefore the postal carrier should not put a piece in his mailbox. The Post Office should only deliver to consumers that we have produced an address label for. As of October 3, 2014 Valassis will no longer be producing one for the address listed above. While Valassis is no longer printing a mail piece for this address, Valassis does not have control over the Post Office and how they deliver the mail. Mail delivery is controlled solely by the USPS®. Also there are many companies other than Valassis that send out advertising circulars and catalogues over which we have no responsibility.
If the consumer has any additional questions they may feel free to contact me Toll-free at ###-###-#### and select option #*. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time.
Sincerely,

HelloAs stated the address has been removed from our mailing list on 12/10/16. We have no record of any previous request. It takes approximately five to six weeks for this process to become fully effective from 12/10/16. At this point we are no longer creating an address label with your address on it. Occasionally with apartment buildings postal delivery errors could result in receipt of RedPlum mailings intended for other apartments.  In an effort to reduce inconvenience, we have contacted your local post office and requested their assistance to discontinue delivery of RedPlum mailers because we are no longer mailing them to your address.Sincerely,                               ... I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. To say that an average person lives at an address is 5 years is ludicrous. I would like to see the data they have to support this theory. They are violating my rights and I demand they remove us permanently, otherwise, it is harrassment. In addition, we know they have the ability to remove us immediately and we also demand they do so since we continue to get their junk mail. They are contributors to killing the environment and will reported to the appropriate environmental agencies if they do not cease and desist.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Thry are essentially saying 'we removed her address -- not my problem -- it's the post office's fault.' The publications are from RedPlum and they are still coming. It needs to be fixed once and for all. I have to keep opening complaints. I need an assurance that this will be corrected and their response doesn't convey that message to me. They said this last time and publications keep coming.

Dear Ms. [redacted]
We are in receipt of your letter dated September 10, 2014 relaying a complaint from Ms. [redacted]. We removed Ms. [redacted]’s address of [redacted] from our mailing list on March...

7, 2013. Vaiassis is no longer producing any mail for this address. The address will stay deleted for a period of five years. Ms. [redacted] will have to contact us again by March 7, 2018 if she wishes to renew her address removal for an additional five years.
I contacted the delivery supervisor at Ms. [redacted]’s local Post Office and spoke to them about the package still being delivered to her address. The delivery supervisor stated they will speak to the carrier for that address and assured me that the carrier will not place our package in Ms. [redacted]’s mailbox. The Post Office should only deliver to consumers that we have produced an address label for and we are no longer producing one for the address listed above. While Vaiassis is no longer printing a mail piece for this address, Vaiassis does not have control over the Post Office and how they deliver the mail. RE: Case#[redacted] - Mr. [redacted]
Dear Ms. [redacted],
We are in receipt of your letter dated October 29, 2014 asking for additional information about our response to the complaint from Mr. [redacted]. In the letter, Mr. [redacted] requests removal from our mailing list for ten years, rather than five years. However, we are unable to meet his request as our system allows only for a five year removal timeframe. This timeframe was determined because our mailings are address only and not personalized to a specific individual and the average length of residence consumers have at a single address is five years or less.
Should Mr. [redacted] wish to be removed for an additional five years, he may contact us again by September 2, 2019 to be removed for an additional five years.
If the consumer has any additional questions, please feel free to contact me toll-free at ###-###-#### and select option #3 and ask for me. Please call during our normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time.

Review: I have tried to remove myself from this company's subsidiary, RedPlums, mailing list but I am still receiving their coupon books, the only change has been instead of my address and name on the coupon book, all that appears on it is my zip code. I think it is horrendous that this company offers the public an unsubscribe option then just blanks zip codes with their paraphernalia, I find it very disrespectful, I don't care if you are peddling coupons and money saving schemes (and that is me being very reserved and respectful).Desired Settlement: I would like the impossible, I don't want to see the title "Red Plum" ever again. Just seeing your coupon books offends me due to your lack of respect.

Response:

Hello,We received the request and effective 10/1/15 the consumer's address of [redacted] was removed from the RedPlum® mailing list. RedPlum® is mailed by address. In some areas a client may choose to advertise on what is called a “Detached Address Label”. In this case the postal carrier is supposed to put an address card with the RedPlum advertising package. If there is no longer a card with your address printed on it the carrier is not supposed to leave the RedPlum package at your residence. Unfortunately, sometimes the carrier makes a mistake. We have contacted the local post office and requested their assistance to discontinue delivery of RedPlum mailers because we are no longer mailing them to this address. Sincerely,Valassis RedPlum Mailing List Group

Review: I have now contacted this company over 5 times by calling their ###-###-#### number to request that they stop sending me their advertisement papers. They don't bring them to the door and put them in the mail slot. They just haphazardly toss them at our house almost every week. Sometimes they land on the steps, sometimes they land in our flowers. On one occasion the bag was stuck in our tree and the advertisements fell out and were scattered all over our lawn. I'm very frustrated with this company as I have contacted them so many times with no resolve. It's a waste of paper and I'm tired of picking those things out of our flowerbed. We never asked for their ads in the first place.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop sending their advertisements to our house forever.

Review: I have tried to opt out of the Redplum mailer on their website for about 3 months now, but they keep showing up. I've opted out several years ago, but they started to send their mailer again. I just want it to stop.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop sending me their mailer like they said they would on their web site.

RE: Case #[redacted]- [redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted]:We are in receipt of your letter dated 11/30/15 relaying a complaint from Mr. [redacted]. We removed Mr. [redacted]’s address of [redacted] effective 2/21/13. Unfortunately USPS deleted the address (reason unknown). Due to the address being deleted by USPS the suppression was removed because the address was no longer mailable per USPS. In other words, it was no longer on our database. The address was then reactivated by USPS on 7/25/15 and became mailable again. We received an email request on 10/22/15 to stop the RedPlum advertising and a new suppression was applied to the address. It takes approximately five to six weeks from 10/22/15 for this process to become fully effective as Valassis pre-prints its mailing labels in advance. The removal status will remain effective for a period of five years. The consumer may contact us by 9/22/20 if they wish to renew the address removal for an additional five years. Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I never signed up for Red Plum postal mail advertised program. Yet somehow they managed to get my mailing address and started sending junk mails to me.

I even registered with the Do not mail list(https://[redacted]), but Redplum refused to honor my request to stop sending me junk mails.

Please help me.Desired Settlement: stop sending me junk mails and remove me from all mailing lists.

Review: I requested to be removed from Red Plum's physical mailing services on 6/11/2014. Their website states that in order to request to be removed from their list, you must agree to allow Red Plum 5-6 weeks to properly remove you from the list. That in itself is absurd and completely unreasonable. However, I agreed and requested to be removed. 7 weeks later on 7/30/2014 I am still receiving loads of advertisement papers, coupons and fliers from Red Plum. These fliers are crammed in my mailbox and subsequently get mixed in with my actual mail that I am supposed to receive. Since there are so many loose pages that Red Plum sends me, if I don't take the time to individually sort through the stacks of garbage that they continue to send me, I am afraid that I might loose the actual mail that I want to receive. In addition to the inconvenience that Red Plum causes me personally, their "service" is completely destructive towards our environment. They send stacks on stacks of papers to an endless amount of addresses every week. Many people who receive these advertisements don't want them, so they throw them outside their mailbox, or somewhere else in the street. This causes unnecessary pollution and is just a complete waste in general.I never signed up to receive anything from Red Plum. I do not wish to receive anything from Red Plum in the future. I signed up to be removed from their list, in accordance with their policies, and they did not follow through.Desired Settlement: Stop sending me fliers, coupons, advertisements or anything else in the mail.

RE: Case#[redacted]

Review: I have contacted [redacted]FIVE* times since the summer regarding DO NOT MAIL. They do nothing about it and say I have to contact [redacted], which handles all of their advertising. This is odd considering that [redacted] is the client and should have a relationship with their vendor. I have contacted [redacted]THREE* times and requested to be removed from [redacted] and any other Red Plum advertising. I am still receiving [redacted] advertisements. ([redacted] is a Valassis division.)Desired Settlement: DO NOT MAIL for *ALL[redacted] and their clients, *ESPECIALLY[redacted].

Review: This company repeatedly ignore requests to remove me from their mailing lists, and keeps sending unwanted junk mail to my home.Desired Settlement: Cease & desist from ALL future mailings

Review: I have attempted numerous times to "opt out" of RedPlum's direct mailer, to no avail. The previous homeowners must have subscribed to the service, since moving in a year ago I have reached out to RedPlum countless times to discontinue the mailer. I filled out the on-line "opt out" form twice and continued to receive the mailer. Since the on-line form didn't appear to work, I contacted the company directly at their "wecare" customer service e-mail address. Since July 9, 2014 - I have sent 5 e-mails (one for every mailer I received). I have yet to receive a response and the mailer still arrives. As I expressed via my e-mail to RedPlum, the mailer goes directly to recycling and is a waste of both of our time.Desired Settlement: I would like my address immediately/permanently REMOVED from their mailing list, and notified once this action is complete.

Business

Response:

Review: I have asked RedPlum multiple times to stop spamming me but they continue to leave spam in my physical mail box. This should be illegal but I consider it a violation of my right to privacy and is an unethical practice.Desired Settlement: They need to cease and desist their spamming practice, which I have already asked them to do.
