Review: I was purchasing a house with another lender when my broker referred me to an agent from Vanguard since the process was taking too long. I was told that I could use the appraisal from the first lender. Then the agent that I need to do a second appraisal and was promised that the cost of the appraisal will be reimbursed. I never received the reimbursment. Agents refuse to take my calls, never returned numerous messages after the closing.Desired Settlement: I'd like to get a reimbursement I was promised.

I worked with Vanguard Funding LLC. Specifically Danica M[redacted]. My experience working with her was a pleasure. She made the process very smooth which reduced my anxiety. Ms. M[redacted] was professional and patient. The service was excellent and I would recommend her to anyone seeking to become a homeowner.

Vanguard funding its the best it got us aproved for the closing in 2 weeks

Review: We applied for a mortgage with Vanguard Funding. Their [redacted], [redacted], agreed (in email) told us that they will reduce their origination fee to be no more than $1000.

However, at the closing, the origination fee was $1990.

When I contacted them after, I was told that because they extended my rate lock (due to seller's atty out of town) and gave me a copy of the appraisal of my current home (that they required), then they are retracting what they promised.

I'm sorry that you are not satisfied with our service. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service.

As stated in the emails provided in the complaint, the lender credit was discussed prior to other costs incurred. When the rate expred, no fault of Vanguard, and an appriasal was completed at Vanguard's cost, the credit amount was used up on those items.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Vanguard has refused to honor it's promise of a lender's credit. Vanguard is using subsequent circumstances as excuses not to fulfill their promise. If it was made clear during the application process that there will be other costs later on, I would not have proceeded with the application. As it is, they used deceptive practices to bait customers to procure a loan through them when they had no intention of fulfilling their promises.

The fact that much later towards the end, they required an appraisal of my prior home (which is NOT the property to be purchased) at their own expense is NOT a savings for me since I had no need for an appraisal of my previous home and this is an expense that a borrower should not be charged for.

The fact that they refused to adjust the disclosure statement to reflect the promised reduced application fee proves that they had no intention of honoring that promise.

I've filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and they have not responded to them. They then forwarded my complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.

A mortgage license suspension order was also imposed on Vanguard by the State of New York Banking Department in May 2009.

This is my second time refinancing my mortgage with Vanguard Funding and with [redacted] as my broker. I've had a very positive experience with [redacted] both times that I refinanced. As with every other refinance I've done there are always problems and documentation issues and [redacted] did a great job of resolving these difficulties and was able to get me a very good deal. The first time I refinanced I rolled in all of my student loan debt and this time all of my credit card debt. I am grateful to [redacted] and Vanguard as my financial stress has gone down tremendously after I've gotten rid of all of the credit card debt. I'd be happy to speak further ###-###-####.

Vanguard helped my wife and me with the purchase of a co-op. They walked us through the process step-by-step so that we always submitted the right documentation. The co-op's management company was difficult to work with, but the Vanguard associates that aided us were persistent and professional throughout the process.

Our experience with Vanguard Funding was great. Joseph L[redacted] was especially wonderful and was extremely reliable. He was very quick to get everything done and did his best to ensure the closing process went smoothly. I would highly recommend using Vanguard Funding, and specifically recommend Joseph L[redacted] as he is wonderful was a pleasure to work with.

Our mortgage took forever and they kept asking for the same paperwork over and over .It seemed like nobody know what they were doing.

It is rare for me to write a letter of praise for a job well done. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I have felt compelled to do so. However, there are certain people who deserve to be recognized for their outstanding service. I have had the pleasure of working with the Vanguard Hauppauge branch, I appreciate the large fund of knowledge they possess. I have found them to be highly professional and so utterly enjoyable to communicate with. This team has made this entire process of securing a home loan which can sometimes be extremely stressful a true pleasure. I thought you should know They have done an exemplary job and I will definitely recommended them to family and friends.

Review: I am an out of state buyer of my second home in **. Vanguard had my loan for 2 quarters and forgot to pay my taxes in a brokerage account twice!! (Yes, 2of2 times!!) Between this and sending a wrong letter of transfer of my loan with a wrong phone number with a company that tried to still take payment, I really wonder how anyone can do business by choice with Vanguad - I will never do that again and it has unfortunately stained the reputation of my home buying experience in the state of ** (since you know I am out of state).

How can any business not care about their customers and have no accountability?Desired Settlement: For Vanguard to call me and explain how this could happen and explain how no consumer will ever have to go through my nightmare again. I want my review displayed and NOT deleted.

I realty feel desapointed with vanguard , I won't recommend vanguard to anybody , I'm waiting and waiting and get no answers , l don't think they are serious it's just taking to long !!!!

Laura did a fantastic job with facilitating the process of refinancing my mortgage. It was a quick and easy and she kept on top of things. It went much smoother than I could've ever expected.

We were very satisfy with the outcome of the process and the excellent job Danica [redacted] did for us. Her dedication, knowledge, and never giving up on us make it possible to fulfill our dream of buying our first house. If you need an excellent loan officer she will be the perfect person for you. Without a doubt I recommend her and the company to all my family and friends.

Review: About four (4) months ago I applied for a loan with Vanguard Fund LLC to purchase a sponsor unit- coop apartment in [redacted], New York. After approximately four (4) weeks, a Commitment Letter was given to me and an appraisal was also performed. The appraisal took place sometime in September and the loan officer informed me that I a closing date was going to be scheduled during the month of September. After being informed about the possible date of the closing the communication between the loan processor, [redacted] and myself drastically changed. [redacted], the loan processor, was very evasive about the status of my loan not only to me but also to my lawyer. We were in “limbo” for about a month. No documents were requested, no communications were sent even when my lawyer and I were constantly trying to get information about the loan. After we did not get any response from [redacted], I sent letters to [redacted], the [redacted] of the company, and to Vanguard’s [redacted], [redacted] without any response. Finally, I was able to get in touch with [redacted] and he stated that I was not eligible for the loan and he sent me a letter stating so. For the moment of getting the Commitment Letter- to the moment in which I received the not approved letter I spent almost two (2) months without the possibility of either getting out of the deal or finding another bank.Desired Settlement: Right now, I am dealing with a different bank and schedule to close towards the end of November. I understand that I cannot recuperate the time I lost but I want to get the money spend in the appraisal ($450.00), and in the money I spent in the lawyer processing the documents for Vanguard as well ($150.00).
