Contracted with ARS Richmond (through *** ***) to install a new heat/A/C system on 10/31/Work began on 11/5/Most work done by one man crewWork stopped on 11/8/with no working heatHeat finally working on 11/9/with a crew from Hampton RoadsNo work since has occurredWorkmanship has multiple issues: heat registers will not open/close, return air system poorly installed, crawlspace door damaged
I also was misled by estimator on several issues: interest rate on financing (was promised ** for months, when bill arrived it showed work performed on 11/2/and was for **),he stated they did not use flex ducts, which was used extensively on the job and many are damaged, promised work would take two days
The system is incomplete; no a/c installed, unacceptable work not remedied, repairs to crawlspace door, trash cleanup

We received our contracted, semi-annual maintenance visit this week from Wendell of ARS Richmond We have been working with ARS, formally known as Weathercrafters for a few years Their service has always been superior and thorough We made a decision to replace our aging, two zone system in November with a *** Wendell was punctual and courteous and explained what the inspection/maintenance process would involve During this process, he took the time to review the operations of this system and thermostats, many of these details were new to us and answered many of our questions He was very familiar with this multi-unit system and was very patient with our questionsHe is "an ARS star" and we would highly recommend him and ARS to anyone

I received several quotes for a replacement heat pump system The sales representative for WeatherCrafters was exceptionally knowledgeable regarding all aspects of his chosen field Their price for the system chosen was definitely the bestThe installers worked non-stop from the time they arrived until they completed the installation I had expected a lot of disruption, but had very little They cleaned up all debris This entire team of experts was respectful, courteous and an all-around great team to deal with My son has already decided that they would be installing his new systems when needed

ARS of Richmond has been thorough and prompt and very friendly to deal with So glad we chose our maintenance plan with them, they do an excellent job Chris Awas excellent in explaining everything and he did a great job with our maintenance

ARS installed a complete new Carrier heat pump system with a Nest thermostat on July 7, on the second floor of my house The system had operating problems from the start There have been service calls during these first monthsThese service calls have included a variety of maintenance issues to include but not limited to replacing the original Nest thermostat in August (one month after initial installation), replacing the defrost board in the outside unit in November 2017, and correcting improper system wiringStarting at the beginning of May the system started malfunctioning The heat came on even though the Nest thermostat was indicating "cooling." As result of the heat coming on, temperatures on the second floor rose quickly into the 90sThere was no controlling the thermostat; unit had to be shut down by throwing the circuit breakersThese matters were discussed with the general manager on May 21st He assured me he would have technician(s) here by 10:

A couple of months ago, we had Weather Crafters install a central air unit that works with gas heatThey may be good at installing a basic central air unit (they installed one at my rental property a couple of month's ago as well and I've received no complaints from the renter) but they appear to know little about installing a unit that is connected to gas heatAs well, we were told by the sales rep that their system would work with our existing *** thermostat (we were willing to buy their thermostat if it was going to be an issue), and that they connect with *** a lotThe first technician could not get the system to recognize the *** unit, so he hot wired it and told us to get another Weather Crafters technician out to fix it the following week (it was late in the evening)The 2nd technician came out and indicated that it was not wired correctly by the original crewThe issue with connecting to *** appeared to be fixed when the guy was here but when he left, later that day I tried to control the temp with my phone and it would not workI then went to the *** unit to set the control and it was not workingCalled Weather Crafters again and another technician came out and said that yet again the last technician wired it incorrectlyThat's technicians that wired the unit incorrectlyBut this technician still could not get it to work, so re-hot wired it and said there was nothing more they could doWe had to contact *** ourselves to get input regarding why the system was not registering with the *** unitWe fixed the issue ourselves but need Weather Crafters to fix the wiring underneath the house so that it is not hot wired, which they will not do without a service feePlease note: Weather Crafters' website indicates they are "*** certified," which is not at all trueTheir technicians even admitted they are not *** certifiedWe now have a lot of water build up underneath the house, and condensation on our registry units, so just called to get a technician out to fix thatAgain, this unit was installed a couple of months agoI would not recommend Weather Crafters for installs with gas heat nor *** units

I have been with Weather Crafters since 2006, when I entered a service contract with them They have never defaulted on any part of their contract They were prompt, and the service men were efficient, and polite I am more than satisfied
