I am rejecting this response because:
I did inquire about a permit through your representative. Carolina Carports should higher more honest employees. I was also advised by your representative not to purchase a certified carport. That is the problem with our country, you can't trust any of your fellow citizens. That is why the issue is weighing heavily on my heart and mind. A change in our country can start with something as small as people taking responsibility for their faults. Carolina Carports should take ownership of their representatives dishonestly.
Regards,
Ashley Griffith

As stated in our previous response, CCI is acknowledging the delayed delivery and also stated that we specifically understand and acknowledge the customers concerns. The discounts applied indicate our acknowledgment of that. Again, we apologize for the delays in delivery, the maximum discounts have been applied and the order has been filled. Sincerely,Heather [redacted]CCI - GM

As mentioned in the review, CCI acknowledges the delays in delivery. Following the delays, I personally spoke with the customer. We rerouted deliveries for the next available date to make sure that he was first stop on the route. We also contacted the PA Division where this order would be shipped...

from and advised the division of the priority. Our division manager spoke directly with the contractor and the contractor assured that he would make sure it was top priority. Unfortunately, on the Saturday prior to the scheduled delivery on Monday, the contractor was injured on the job when a triple wide truss fell across his ankle and subsequently crushed his ankle. This contractor is out of work for an undetermined amount of time. All customers on this route were rescheduled due to this. We have advised that we will check weather in the area upon return from the Christmas and New Year's holidays and advise of the first available date for delivery.  Sincerely,Heather S[redacted]CCI-General Manager

Complaint: 12475369
I am rejecting this response because:  CC has not acknowledged their poor performance or acknowledged the loss of leave (income) I incurred during this incident.  This loss of leave is worth much more than the 150 and 95 they took off the price.

I am in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mr. [redacted]. CCI's management team was made aware of this issue until Jan. 3, 2017. Since that time, we have been in contact with Mr. [redacted] regarding updates and expediting the repair. Mr. [redacted] has spoke with several members of management by phone...

and email. The only issue preventing an immediate repair was the winter weather system that moved through NC. We do apologize for the delay. Had management been aware of this issue, this could have been resolved much sooner. Mr. [redacted] is currently projected for the 16th or 17th. The customer is aware. Thanks,Heather S[redacted]CCI-General Manager

I am in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mr. [redacted] When Mr. [redacted] placed his order he was not ready for delivery. He notified CCI that he was ready at the beginning of September. At that time, his order was considering active and placed in rotation. Our current lead time in this area is...

approximately 10 weeks, weather dependent and not accounting for holidays. Currently, this order is projected to be installed on Dec. 11th/12th.  Sincerely, Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager

We are supplying the breakdown in costs as requested in Option 1 from the customer:2-Ends Closed = $2600.00Less Gable Credit = -$350.00Total for Ends Closed = $22502-Frame Outs = $200.00Total Costs: $2450 plus sales tax. The return fee of $200 has been waived.  Again, we certainly apologize that the unit design is not satisfactory to the customer, however, there is no defect. We are working to accommodate the customers preferences and request. There is not an option that can be provided at no cost to the customer.  Sincerely,Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager

Mr. [redacted] is currently in a route for Monday, October 24th. We have spoken with him and confirmed this date for delivery. Sincerely,Heather S[redacted]CCI-General Manager

"Materials and labor" are the responsibility of the contractor, this was discussed regarding the workmanship and damaged materials for the building itself. This is why it was originally discussed that the same contractor would be dispatched. We respected and understood your request to have someone else, other than the original contractor come out. We are sending another contractor. The other contractor will have to be compensated and the replacement materials paid for, this takes place on the back end between CCI and the contractors. As previously stated, we do not employ inspectors. The contractor that comes out is being sent with enough material to replace anything that is needed and repair to CCI standards. The plan of action has changed since this was originally discussed based on information discovered through photos and discussions. Regarding the ruts in the yard, we have clearly stated that we will need a quote for repairs and that we will mediate this situation on your behalf. We also stated that the contractor has insurance in place for this as well. All we need is the quote. The building has a 1 year workmanship warranty and is being serviced under that warranty. CCI has clearly stated intent to rectify the situation. As with any construction field, there are delays which may impact our scheduling abilities. We have negotiated a plan of action with a specific contractor willing to complete this work so in this case, the scheduling abilities are dictated based on contractor availability. At no point has CCI refused service, warranty or denied the fact that we are taking responsibility for the contractors actions. We have offered a plan of action and are working to execute such.  Sincerely,Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12540896, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me for the time being.  I appreciate that CCI has taken steps to remedy the situation and will be waiting to hear the outcome of this most recent suggestion. If the new plans are still not acceptable to the county, I will be very interested to hear what the next steps are.

I am in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mrs. Barbara [redacted] Carolina Carports Inc. is one of the only companies in this industry that will process addition orders. We do so with the understanding that we are unable to guarantee any type of time frame because it is based on contractor...

availability. The particular contractor who constructed the original structure does still work for CCI. In speaking with Mrs. [redacted] we have explained that this is based on the contractors availability. We understand Mrs. [redacted] concerns. However, in future conversations we would greatly appreciate if Mrs. [redacted] would refrain from using explicit wording and racial slurs towards our staff and contractors. That being said, the original contractor will not be available within a 10 day time frame. We will speak with another contractor and see if they would be agreeable to assist with this addition. In that case, we would be able to send someone out on the 13th or 14th. Sincerely,Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager

I am in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mr. Jeffrey T[redacted]. I have researched the details regarding this complaint in order to respond in an accurate manner. Mr. T[redacted] did in fact order an addition to his existing structure on 5/25/2016. CCI scheduled his delivery and install for...

7/12/2016. CCI was made aware on 7/13/2016 that Mr. T[redacted]'s order was not completed as scheduled. On the same date, Leonarda, a customer service representative spoke with Mr. T[redacted] and apologized for the inconvenience. CCI frequents this area every 4-6 weeks. This order was given to a customer service manager in an effort to expedite and prioritize the delivery. The customer has spoken with Lisa, a customer service manager on 7/20/2016 and 7/21/2016. Lisa has worked to expedite a truck to this area. The customer is currently on schedule for 8/1/2016. Should additional assistance or information be required, please feel free to contact me directly. Sincerely, Heather S[redacted]CCI - General Manager

Mr. [redacted] purchased his carport from an independent dealer on 8/24/2016. CCI operates at approximately 8 weeks in this area. This order was scheduled and installed on 10/21/2016. CCI does not guarantee a specific time for delivery as the contractors may encounter a number of issues during travel...

that impact delivery. We hope that this information is sufficient to close this matter with regard to CCI. Heather S[redacted]CCI-General Manager

I am in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mrs. [redacted] Our records indicate that the order on file is under Maxim [redacted] Carolina Carports Inc. is aware of the failed inspection. The customer has been working with a member of our engineering department to resolve the concerns. The...

building is built correctly to specs but the inspector has requested additional materials be added to the end wall where the doors are located. In addition to the request of the inspector, there was also a failure due to the foundation. The customer was required to provide additional information regarding a retaining wall and footers. CCI is working with the engineer and inspector to determine what design the inspector prefers since the unit is built to spec. CCI will update the customer and provide the materials necessary for compliance once we have the acceptable design.  Sincerely,Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the delay in delivery may have caused. However, our contractors work throughout a 200 mile service area during each route. Although it may not have been rained in Mr. [redacted] particular area, it did rain in the area of their previous stops which...

ultimately delayed the install. It is my understand that that Mr. [redacted] has been in contact with Katie, our customer service manager, this morning to arrange delivery for July 31st. Mr. [redacted] has accepted the delivery and we have added J-Trim to the unit at no charge for the inconvenience. Sincerely,Heather [redacted]General Manager

I am in receipt of the complaint being filed on behalf of our customer of record, Tim [redacted] According to our records, Mr. [redacted] was scheduled for delivery in October. As with any construction based business, there may be delays in the field. Mr. [redacted] was contacted by the contractor to...

let him know that they were running behind and would arrive the following morning. Mr. [redacted] refused, stating that he was unavailable for that date and that it would be raining as well. Mr. [redacted] was scheduled again in December and was delayed due to a truck breaking down. We are currently working with Mr. [redacted] on a new schedule date. We are monitoring weather in the area and will continue to work towards a date after the new year. Since we do not have a contractor currently working in this area, we have also offered Mr. [redacted] a discounted rate should he choose to pick the unit up at our Elysburg location. Should the customer choose to move forward with delivery rather than pick up, we will be offering a courtesy discount for the delayed deliveries.  Sincerely,Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager

We are in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mrs. [redacted] Mrs. [redacted] purchased a utility carport from Latrobe Keystone Aluminum Products Inc. on 4/10/2017. CCI manufactured the unit ordered. Mrs. [redacted]'s building was installed by an independent contractor on 4/27/2017. Mrs. [redacted] did...

not contact CCI with regards to any damages until 8/16/2017. At this time, she spoke with Nicole, a customer service manager. She stated that she had a plumber at her home and they had discovered an issue with her septic line. On one end of the septic, she had tree roots growing through her line. On the other end, her line was punctured by a rebar anchor. She stated that before installation, she showed the contractors where the cap was located and indicated the direction of the lines. The contract she signed clearly states that the customer is responsible for having underground lines marked. In an effort to mediate the situation, Nicole requested that the customer send any information for review. The customer called in on 8/28/2017 to verify that CCI received the photo and quote for repair. Nicole acknowledged the receipt of the quote and let her know that we would speak with the contractor to attempt to mediate the situation. Since CCI does not provide the on site installation, we would turn everything over to the crew for review. Nicole spoke with the contractor who stated that lines were never discussed the day of installation and also referred back to the contract terms that the lines must be marked. On 8/31/2017, the customer called in for an update. She spoke with Valerie, a customer service manager as Nicole was unavailable at the time of the call. The customer at this point changed the initial details. She stated that she didn't in fact know where her lines were located. She felt the crew should have "seen" the cap on their own but she guessed they were "too d**n blind". When asked why she did not have the area marked prior, she stated that the contractors should have known where they were. Valerie advised that the contractors would have no way of knowing where the lines were if they weren't marked and she was unable to tell them specifically. The contract terms are very clear regarding underground cables and lines. CCI will gladly speak with the contractor again, however, this is a matter of contract. When asked if she had read the contract terms, Mrs. [redacted] stated that she had not. She stated that she had purchased units from CCI in the past and had no issues so she did not see a reason to read the terms before signing. CCI would love to be able to offer a favorable resolution in this situation but the facts remain that the customer failed to read, acknowledge or abide by the contract terms which ultimately led to the current issue. Should the customer wish to discuss the situation further, she may contact me direct. Sincerely, Heather [redacted]CCI General Manager
